• 863gracielav (10/5): Awesome- boutique hotel! - My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in NaNa Vida Boutique Hotel! We were within walking distance to excellent restaurants, Centro, and places to visit. The staff were exceptionally attentive to our needs/requests. Luz, Umberto and Christian were super helpful! The breakfast always good! Fresh, fruit, pan dulce, coffee, etc. We highly recommend this hotel, and plan to return in the future!

• PAULO RICARDO (9/5): - I've been to both this Nana Vida and the one in CDMX and the highlight of the hotel is the great and attentive staff. This one in particular is a really cool place with a nice internal terrace, and extremely well located. The room was spacious and very clean.
• Brenda (8/5): Great but make sure you actually receive the room category you booked and are charged accordingly - Really well located, well maintained, and very quiet. You get a complimentary breakfast with coffee, fruit, and juice. The rooms are decorated with local handicrafts. The hotel pays great attention to detail, and the staff truly makes you feel well taken care of. I booked a deluxe double room because I was traveling with my parents and wanted enough space for all of us. However, when I arrived for check-in, I was told that I would be placed in a different room that was supposedly “exactly the same.” Unfortunately, it was noticeably smaller. I was then informed that I would only be moved to the actual room I originally booked on the last night of my four-night stay. Despite this, I was charged the deluxe double room rate for all four nights, even though I spent three of them in a standard double room. I found this very dishonest, as the rate should have reflected the type of room actually provided. The explanation given at check-in was related to their internal software, but it was never clearly explained that I would be staying in a standard room while paying for a deluxe one. This was very disappointing.

The only thing was the shower: difficult to get the temperature right & then it would change mid shower so you end up boiling hot or cold. Otherwise perfect!

From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a truly authentic Mexican experience, full of warmth, charm, and genuine hospitality. The traditional style of the accommodation really stood out, especially the beautiful central courtyard garden. It’s such a peaceful and inviting space—perfect for relaxing and unwinding after a busy day exploring the vibrant and welcoming town of Oaxaca. Our room on the second floor was fantastic—quiet, comfortable, and ideal for a great night’s sleep. The bed was especially comfortable, and we didn’t experience any noise at all, which made it easy to recharge each night. What truly made the stay special was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They created a home-like atmosphere that made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. Breakfast each morning was delicious and just what we needed to fuel up before heading out to explore. The location is also spot on—close enough to walk to great cafés, bars, cantinas, restaurants, and the Zócalo de Oaxaca, while still feeling peaceful and tucked away. If we had one small suggestion, it would be to consider upgrading the shower heads. Given the importance of water conservation, there are excellent water-saving options that could also enhance the shower experience. That said, it’s a very minor point. Overall, we absolutely loved Nana Vida and would 100% stay here again. A truly memorable and heartwarming place to stay in Oaxaca.

• fridad653 (10/5): Wonderful stay - We had such a great stay at Nana Vida Hotel in Oaxaca. The first thing that stood out right away was the staff. they were so friendly and constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were really spacious and always cleaned impeccably, which we definitely appreciated. You can tell they really care about the details, and the whole team was super attentive the entire time. The location is also perfect and easy to get around and explore the city, but still feels comfortable and relaxing. We also loved all the little touches, like the soap they give you when you arrive and the parting gifts when you leave. And the stand with Mexican candy for guests was such a fun bonus. Overall, such a great experience, we’ll definitely be staying here again on future trips to Oaxaca.

Note issues with noise mentioned in previous reviews- we stayed in room 10 in the courtyard and weren't bothered by this at all and only heard the birds earlier in the morning which was quite pleasant. Breakfast included fresh fruit, fresh orange juice, tea, coffee and a selection of bread with the option for eggs etc at an additional but reasonable cost. location was very central. Perhaps blinds instead of wooden shutters in windows for a little more light in the room but it did keep with the aesthetic and didn't really bother us as we didn't spend much time in the room regardless

Plenty of eating options around. Staff and their services were outstanding, very attentive and always willing to help guests. Room/Facilities - Our room although it was small for a family of 3, it was cosy, comfortable and was very aesthetically done. The whole property was very clean, beautiful, well kept/maintained and tranquil. We felt at home and peaceful. While Nana Vida met/exceeded my expectations in many areas, I wanted to really call out the few nice/thoughtful gestures from the hotel mgmt for guests. On arrival, we received a bar of organic soap (flavour of our choice) each as welcome gift and a bottle of chilled water/cool drink. Likewise, while departing, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a traditional Oaxaca silk top as a take home gift/souvenir from the front desk staff. Such small gestures make you feel special and creates happy memories. One more very thoughtful/useful act from mgmt/staff that I would like to call out, given it was the hot season, the front desk staff always checked on guests going in/out of the property and handed in chilled mineral water bottles every time. Keep up your outstanding service and hospitality Nana Vida Mgmt and Staff !!!!!! Breakfast - Definitely an area of improvement, the start time needs to be moved forward to 7.00 am at least. As tourists/guests travelling from other parts of the world, we rise early due to time zone differences/ jet lag/tours booked in the morning, the hotel needs to anticipate/cater to such guests needs. While I appreciate the gesture of a fruit plate, drinks (coffee, tea etc) and bread being offered to all guests complimentary, the hotel also needs to think about offering the guests an option to include hot breakfast as part of the online booking itself and not pay separately.

• Kayra (10/5): - This was an extraordinary place. The historic building and the courtyard are absolutely beautiful, and having breakfast there in the morning felt serene. Rooms were spacious, comfortable, very clean, and thoughtfully designed with a strong appreciation for local culture and artists. The location is ideal - everything is easily walkable, super close to the center, yet surprisingly quiet. You can hear birds sing in the mornings. Also, all staff members were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and you can really feel the attention to detail everywhere. There were always drinks and sweets available, and even a farewell gift, which was a lovely touch. It was truly a special stay, and I would absolutely recommend it. There is really nothing we did not like. Thank you :)

NaNa Vida is a beautiful hotel with local artists work displayed throughout. The courtyard is also perfect if you want somewhere to chill at the start or end of your day. The hotel is located in a walkable distance from most of the key sites around Oxacaca and when we wanted to go further afield the staff were happy to help us organise this. We would definitely stay again when we next visit Oxacaca!

Der Innenhof, in dem auch das Frühstück serviert wird, ist wunderschön grün und ruhig. Das Zimmer war sehr schön und bequem. Im Zimmer befindet sich u.a. ein Gerät, welches verschiedene beruhigende Geräusche abspielen kann! Wir bekommen handgemachte Seife beim Check-in und ein traditionelles Oberteil und Kaffee beim Check-out geschenkt! Es gibt jeden Tag ein kleines, kostenloses Frühstück mit frischem Gebäck, Honig, Marmelade, Obst und Getränken. Wer möchte kann sich aber auch weitere Gerichte bestellen. Wasser und Süßigkeiten wird kostenlos rund um die Uhr angeboten. Alle Mitarbeitenden sind unglaublich herzlich und hilfsbereit! Es war meine liebste Unterkunft in ganz Mexiko! -

The hospitality was thoughtful and top notch. The entire hotel, quaint and artistic, is a lovely experience in and of itself. Our room was very clean, with lovely natural lighting, and spaciousness. It was surprisingly quiet and peaceful during our stay, considering we were in such a central location in the city. It was so easy to walk from the hotel in any direction and enjoy what the city had to offer. Our stay was everything we hoped for on our trip. We are so grateful.

Términos generales el hotel, sus habitaciones, sus amenidades, su personal y demás fueron increíbles. Sin duda alguna en pocos lugares he sentido una atención y un hospedaje tan ameno y agradable en todos los países donde he estado. Agradecer también ese jabón artesanal al inicio del la reserva y por los obsequios que nos dieron al final de nuestra estadía. • Christopher (9/5): - Fantastic hotel with really lovely, helpful staff. It’s well located and the rooms are all around a central courtyard in the middle of the block, so very quiet despite being in the centre of town. Our room was comfortable. They arranged a driver for us at one day’s notice over a weekend, which meant we could get out and see a couple of palenques and some of the weavers in Teotitlán del Valle.
• Andrea (10/5): Loved NaNa Vida--especially the staff! - BEST customer service and staff--incredibly friendly and no request seemed to be too much. They were truly lovely. The courtyard was beautiful and had a lovely Oaxacan feel. Breakfast was perfect. Great location for walking to everything. The room was very nice but the bathroom could have been larger.
• William (10/5): Lovely place! - The room was lovely, the staff were excellent and it was an easy walk to anywhere we wanted to go Parking was more difficult than we were told and required making an international bank transfer.
• Desiree (9/5): Serene and Central - Warmth and personalized service from Welcome to departure. I won’t ruin the surprise but it was lovely and hospitable. Located across from a laundromat which was convenient and small mini marts for miscellaneous goods. The hotel also provided us with a coffee carafe for early morning coffee The rooms are set up around a central courtyard which is atmospheric but also depends on the largess and calm of other guests. If they are noisy, you can hear everything but the hotel does provide complimentary ear plugs and a sound machine. This was not an issue during our stay

• Irene (10/5): Lovely staff, comfortable rooms, good value - Every staff person was fabulous ~ authentically caring and helpful. They really do operate as a team of one accord, and that’s to take care of their guests. Rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. Doves begin cooing at 5 am. in the courtyard. Some guests will find it soothing and others may find it irritating. I enjoyed it.
