Guest Reviews
- TODD JAMES (10/5): Cozy Cottage - Good Smell, Cozy Warm, Very Clean
- Joseph (8/5): - Room was very nice, clean and location was good
- Janie (8/5): - The room was cold, adjusting heat didn’t help, there was a knocking tapping sound in the walls…mice!?
- B Holly (10/5): - Quiet and clean
- Marilyn (8/5): - The motel is older for sure, but very clean with friendly staff at an affordable rate especially for persons who just need to crash for the night . Free wifi and helpful attendant
- Bart (2/5): - Dated and smelt like mold
- Brent (8/5): - Good experience overall but no option to get a cot for an extra person
- Stephane (8/5): - Nice room
- Alex (2/5): - Dated. Old. Needs to be updated
- Miles (10/5): - All good, lots of coffee everything worked and clean
- greg (10/5): - decor is dated and bed was hard, but over all good place to do what you came for, to sleep
- Rosemarie (8/5): - I have stayed here 4 times because it was quiet and provided breakfast
- Verified traveler (2/5): Never again - Room was expected for the price. My issue was that we were given a smoking room. While waiting to check-in, we overhead the clerk saying there were no non-smoking rooms available, therefore we didn't ask to change rooms. Seeing that it was a non-refundable room we decided to stay. That decision turned out to be a big mistake, as I didn't know how it would affect my allergies. I felt very ill, which lasted for 3 days. We should have been informed at check-in if they weren't able to fulfill the room preference, and should have been given the option of a refund. I booked the room online, and they should have sent an email confirming whether the change was suitable or not.
- Wendy (4/5): - The property is very dated and so are the rooms. The room was not clean. Smelled of urine and mold. Bedding was not very fresh and the pillows had a smell to them. The breakfast room was very lacking. Coffee machine burner was not working and coffee was cold.
- Jeff (8/5): Overnight Stop in Virden - I had a one night stopover in Virden and stayed at the Virden Motel. Pros: reasonably priced, clean, excellent wifi (was able to work on company VPN without issue), comfortable bed, no carpet (flooring was wood or laminate - not sure, mildly worn but prefer that over carpet), cons: walls appear to be thin - could hear conversation in next room and hotels.com and motel sign indicated a continental breakfast was available and there was a sign at the front desk indicating this was only offered on weekends and holidays. With a daily meal allowance of $40, finding continental breakfasts are nice and this was one of the reasons I booked. Overall, the stay was okay. I would stay there again for a night or two should I need to be in Virden.
- Valorie (8/5): - Spacious, comfortable temperature, good water pressure, mini fridge , microwave, coffee maker, everything you need . Not fancy or beautiful. Staff was kind and helpful.
- mario (2/5): - Pas tres propre mais ca dépanne
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Affordable property but definitely shows it’s age. Good value.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The price was right but cleanliness and upkeep could have been improved.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The main office associate was friendly; the room was clean, but could use an upgrade.
- Cristan (6/5): Needs an update - The motel is quite dated and needs renovating. I'm assuming everything except the sink and shower are original and well worn from about 1970. The flashing sign out front and our booking showed a free breakfast. I expected grab and go due to Covid but there was nothing. I'll check alternatives next time through.
- Mark (6/5): - Exactly as expected. Budget option with limited amenities. Appropriately priced and conveniently located.
- MorLestinr (10/5): - Right off number 1 highway. Great check in. Clean room
- Verified traveler (10/5): Comfortable stay - Had a good stay. There were a few maple bugs in the room, but wasn't a big deal. Comfortable and quiet.
- Anton (8/5): Nice little place - Good but coffee machine was broken
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Breakfast wasnt available all 3 days we stayed. There was no screen on the window so flies were a little annoying. Other than that it was a good, quiet hotel. I would stat here again but id definitely request a room with a screen for sure.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I got locked out of my room twice because the lock didn’t work properly, and the floor was cold in the room.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Deadlock on door needs fixed as well as drafts around it.
- Jerry (10/5): - Inexpensive, comfortable room
- Darrel (10/5): Gem of a motel - A most wonderful motel exceptionally large room with lots of space. Service was excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.
Great wifi and tv.
Can't say enough about this place, it's a real gem and I will return.
Very good continental breakfast and the room was very clean, quiet and safe.
- amber (8/5): - Lighting was poor in the room. Coffee for the free breakfast was cold, had to be heated in the microwave to make it drinkable. No sugar for the coffee.. The room we were staying in was clean and neat and quite large.
The door key was hard to work had to get help several times.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Poor condition. My door was broken....spindle broken and just left on the ground...i found the property in a mess.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Virden motel is a simple basic little hotel right along the highway. The staff was very kind. The room itself had just what I needed for a one night stay.
- Ryan (6/5): - Very dated. No bed bugs or anything like that. For the price, it worked for a place to sleep for the night.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We needed somewhere a little more economical to stay at. I found the Virden Motel online and saw it
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was clean and the staff was nice. It was exactly as advertised.
- steve (2/5): - nasty place old, wore out and dirty
- Devin (6/5): - There were maple bugs everywhere. Our room had an inch gap under the door for them to come in theough.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is a budget hotel with few amenities. It was clean and comfortable but not very fancy.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Exactly as advertised. A bit dated but clean and comfortable for a one night stop over while passing through town. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Clean room, pleasant staff - Room was clean, staff were nice, wifi was great, thanks!
- Kevin (8/5): clean comfortable and quiet area - Will stay there again, very close to gas and food
- Jody (8/5): Just needed a place to sleep - We were just looking for a place to sleep after attending a social in a nearby town. This motel did the job. The room was clean. It is outdated but the price reflects that.
The front staff was doing laundry and didn’t hear us arrive, so there was a 2-3 minute wait after ringing the bell a few times and then she couldn’t find the key to our room.
The beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
Our type of room wasn’t available because of construction people but she did give us an upgraded room for the same price instead.
- Paolo (8/5): - Motel room was clean and spacious and has microwave oven, fridge , coffee maker. Breakfast was included although we did not take advantage as we were out at 5:00 am. Good place to stay for the price charged
- BC Family (6/5): Great for the price - Quiet and clean. An older motel but updated flooring and bath. Breakfast was included but we left before it was available.
- Jodean (8/5): Riding our Spyders - Cute little place...room was comfortable ...had everything we needed...check in easy and friendly
- Peter (6/5): - We rented the room to stay overnight for a wedding we attended. It wasn't fancy at all but good enough for our purpose. I thought it had a bit of a smell.
