Guest Reviews
- carolegY2892PJ (2/5): Disgusting - I was traveling through Yorkton on my way to Ontario and was desperate for a room. It was awful, the counters and floor were dirty
There was a dirty cup on the counter by the the dirty coffeemaker. The curtains were falling off because they didn't have hooks. The comforter had a huge stain on it. The check in person offered me cleaning supplies, that was a first! Fortunately I had lysol wipes in my car. If it wasn't so cold out, I would have slept in my car. Definitely the worse hotel I've ever stayed at. I wish I'd taken some pictures. Avoid it if you can!!
- Peggy (10/5): - Management is very helpful and accommodating.
Bathroom could use a deep cleaning. Bedding and towels are very clean. When just looking for a place for the night, on the way to your final destination, this has what I would like.
- Keith (6/5): Needs upgrades and improvements - This place need work . Not a place I would recommend
- Gail (6/5): - The bathroom and linens were clean but the overall cleanliness of room was not good. Also, the owner came to my room an hour before checkout to remind me of the checkout time. He gave one knock and in seconds the door opened. I was in the bathroom at the time so couldn't answer the door quickly enough. I called out and received his checkout time message, however this frightened me. I felt my privacy was violated. I could have understood him checking on me if I had overstayed the checkout time, but an hour before??
- Dorothy L (8/5): - It's a comfortable sized room, neat and clean. For a one night stay, for me, it's perfect.
- Wesley (2/5): PLACE IS A DUMP - DO NOT STAY HERE. Rooms are disgustingly filthy, hairs in the tub, sheets were dirty, snot was on the walls. If you have any issues after 10 pm you are explicitly told NOT TO CALL the front desk. Overall a horrible experience.
- Corinne (2/5): - Room was not clean.
Fridge dirty, old coffee in the coffee maker, dirty bed sheets.
No working sink in the bathroom.
I would not stay in the room with how filthy it was.
- Michael (10/5): - Friendly I even stayed an extra night
- Mackenzie (8/5): - Owners called to know what time I would arrive. Entrance isn’t necessary marked but we were able to find it.
- Nicole (6/5): - Room cold, heating not sufficient. Very old and moderately clean
- Jacques (6/5): - It needed updated ,too many signs in room eg. no smoking dont eat while sitting on bed. dont use towels for dishes, remember your key , lamp did not work , poor lighting .
- Dale (2/5): - What a dive, not worth 50 dollars a night, completely run down and gross.
- Donna (2/5): - No safety lock I door. Curtain had holes. No safety mat for bathtub.
- Richard (6/5): - Tacky signs in the room
- Gordon (6/5): - The floor was sticky to walk on and the bed side table had drink glass stains that had not bee wiped up.
- Adaeze (10/5): - I like the location
- Derek (6/5): - Its ok if your on a budget
- Ron (8/5): - It was not a 5 star place, but the bed was comfortable and there were no bugs and it was $100 cheaper than anywhere else.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Comfortable stay - I stay here every year for an annual event. The property is run down, but they are making updates. It is comfortable and conveniently located. Check-in is always fast and friendly.
- Laurette (6/5): - The beds were comfortable and clean. The place smelled clean. Rest of the place was a bit rundown. The staff were friendly and accomodating.
- John (10/5): - Old building paint peeling in places
- terry (6/5): - Old but clean
- Scott (8/5): - Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Walkable distance to our events. Great restaurant near by.
- Jordan (2/5): - Got in late for work so i went straight to bed the next day when i got in from work i started puting my clothes away and found a heroine spoon in the top drawer of the dresser. Upon looking further i noticed that behind the toilet seat was coverded in piss. The pots and pans were still dirty and its not like i could cook anyways because the burner elements were pulled out of the stove. Getting the refund was not easy but it did happen in the end terrible experience and way to expesive for what it is.
- Esme (8/5): - It was convenient, quiet a good pirce
- Maxine (2/5): Horrible - I didn’t stay it’s horrible I would never stay there I’m trying to get my money I reserved 1 night jan.30th one look and I couldn’t stay there not worth 1/2 a star
- MICHEL (10/5): - Friendly great services
- Marissa (8/5): - Very quiet place, spacious
- Robert (4/5): - This place is clean and the bed was comfortable. Bare bones, worn, unfriendly, cheap. It works when the alternatives are booked.
- Wendy (6/5): - The rooms needs a complete renovation. Bathroom facet was broken, drawer fronts was broken, had a stove in there but elements were taken out. Curtain was ripped. Very poor.
- GordTM (2/5): Don't stay here - I'm not a 'vibes' sort of guy but this place definitely has bad vibes. Avoid if possible.
I was a bit desperate as I had been traveling more than 12 hours and the previous place, in Melville, wanted an outrageous price to lay my head down for the night.
This place was cheaper and deservedly so. It is dirty, poorly maintained and has full time residents, a sure sign of a bad place to stay.
The soap was the thinnest wafer I've every seen, towels thin, paint and room falling apart.
If at all possible, find another hotel.
- Lynn (4/5): - The owner is trying to do it all himself and not succeeding.
- Peter (4/5): - Kitchenette was out of order and the room smelled of smoke.
- Paul (4/5): - It was close to casino
- Neil (10/5): - Clean room, nice owner. He did my laundry for a reasonable fee. Overall very satisfied.
- Sherry (2/5): Terrible - Terrible hotel
- SherylfromCanada (2/5): If I could give a -10 I would!!! - Had a booking for July 5-7 for a ball tournament for my son. Booking was made on Hotels.com and confirmation email was sent on July 1st. We went to check in after a long day of ball and the hotel cancelled the booking without notice!!! The front desk man was so rude and said he didn’t care, did not have time to call and tell us he was cancelling the reservation without notice, and could care less that our family now had no where to stay in a sold out small community. He said “yup! I don’t care about you, I’m just trying to keep a job”. I am so blown away I literally have no words.
- Barry (6/5): - When booking I agreed to pay on arrival. The charge was processed before I got there and before any no show was made. No big problem, but a bad taste. There was no chain or secondary security lock, and it appeared the door had previously been broken into.
- Janine (8/5): Really roomy - I was pleasantly surprised by how much space was in the room. The beds were comfortable and the young front end guy was really nice and friendly. For the price you can't go wrong.
- Dorothy (10/5): - Once again while in a ‘shoulder’ season of Spring I have been cool in my accommodation with no response from the obvious thermostat on the wall. The fridge in my room has missed cleaning. Pretty rustic room.
- Carol (4/5): - This place is quite run down. Stayed there years ago and it was quaint. Felt unsave, room smelt musty, sheets were clean and all we really needed was a place to sleep so stayed anyway and we had paid for already. Will not ever stay again.
- jay (4/5): - Dirty, old, rundown, terrible tv.
- Shannon (8/5): Clean and comfortable - I stay here at least once a year because it fits my budget. It is clean and comfortable, and the owners are friendly. However, as a solo female traveller, I would like to see the room security improved.
- Sandi (10/5): - Small but convenient
- Bryan (6/5): - Making sure there is toilet paper in the room is one thing they should do i had to go out and buy my own because no one was in the office
- Zafarullah (10/5): - Cean rooms and friendly staff.
- Eric (10/5): - Can beat it for calue for your dollar.
- Pat (8/5): - No silverware or cups . Icy were you park. No plate to microwave and a lamp cause the big light to brite
- Chewy (8/5): - Rooms could have been a little bit cleaner
- Brad (8/5): - Room was dated but clean. Check in was quick, easy and pleasant.
- Robert (2/5): - It was a dive. Dirty bathroom and the lock on the door was broken. I left and stayed elsewhere.
- Marvin (8/5): - Comfortable bed and good Internet.
Bath very slippery. Tired facility. Owner helpful.
- Richard (2/5): - No one at front desk when I tried to check in at 3;30pm.
Left and stayed at the Quality Inn instead.
Was very sketchy neighbourhood, next to a Casino and all the problems that come with addicted gamblers stealing from cars, should have security. No one noticed I was there to check in, so I left, had to pee and didn't want to pee against a wall
- Marie (8/5): - although an old motel it was good as my rating displays.
- Alexandre (8/5): - Affordable
- Stan (6/5): Very basic! - Door faces on a big ugly asphalt lot. There was more posting of charges for any missing or damaged item. But it was basically clean and had the required basics. One serious problem was a dangerously slippery bathtub with no slip free mat
- Wallace (6/5): - The room was large and well equiped. The outside of the buildings and grounds were rundown. The price was low and access was good. It was a basic unit worth a night's stay. If you are looking for luxury this is not it. The owner was helpful and very pleasant.
- Don (10/5): - Pillows were a little flat but everything else was great for the price
- Paul (4/5): - No deadbolt on door, musty smell in rooms, towels yellowed, old bedspread, one old chair outside the rooms
- Manuel (8/5): - Clean friendly could use some improvements
- SHARLINE (8/5): - All good at the Yorke!
- Royden (10/5): - Nice kitchen area, nice mattress,
- Marie (6/5): - Busy. Cheap. Clean. Dated.
- Raymond (8/5): - Price was right.
- Leona (6/5): - Garbage around the property, no toiletries, bugs
- John (10/5): - Actually I was no show but I was there before. A good place for non-picky people based on that cheap price.
- Claudette (6/5): - Price was good
- Patricia (6/5): - Liked everything okay but did not like the couple who I think rent one of the rooms on a monthly basis fighting and yelling at night. The second night the police arrived and stopped the fighting.
- Ron (10/5): - Was noisy .
- Tiffani (2/5): - The owner was nice but thats about it. Worst ever motel stay of my life, I'd rather forget. There were little "warning" signs everywhere & if you didn't obey those rules there would be extra charges.
First the floor was filthy. Not swept or vacuumed. From the front door to the bed our socks were black. The beds were atleast clean. The thermostat was at 25° with a sign saying not to adjust. It was 13° outside no need for high heat. There was a kitchenette which we refused to use for obvious reasons. The cutlery & random dishes looked like they were thrown in the cupboard, hair, bugs & all. There was also an empty liquor bottle & empty beer cans under the sink, no dish soap to be found. But "if dishes are left dirty then a fee will be charged." The fridge was the cleanest thing, it must be new. Filthy coffee maker. The bathroom.. The hand soap which was watered down had about 1/8 of soap left if that. The toilet paper roll was half empty & we were not allowed anymore. There were two towels & it was a hassel getting two more but yet its a room with two (not so) double beds, 4 people?? Last but not least BLACK MOLD everywhere. I would have walked right out when we arrived but every other place in town was booked. Expedia price was $80 a night but my bill came to $200.
I have picture's to prove my words. I hate that I wasted money there I will never be staying there again & it should be shut down. Also the wifi didnt work.
- Violet (2/5): - There was not much to like other than the location and the friendly front desk clerk.
- Lonnie (8/5): - It was close to where I did business.
- Karla (2/5): - Horribly dirty, gross and in very poor conditions. I highly do NOT recommend anyone stays there. It should be shut down.
- Brian (2/5): - Bathroom was a terrible mess
- Ernest (8/5): - Nothing!! Cheap prices
- Amber (2/5): Not Safe! - Very disappointed. Filthy!!! No lock from inside my room. Mold on bath mat. Dirty sheets dirt anf mouse poop in sheets. Bathroom was disgusting I wouldn’t even shower ior brush my teeth. I was charged an extra fee for my pet ( for cleaning up after him) but it was already dirty!! All in all I felt very unsafe with the whole experience. Didn’t sleep a wink was out by 6am
I emailed the motel as well with no response. I’d like my money back
- Sharon (8/5): - Very convenient to the function I was attending at the Gallagher centre.Polite and friendly front desk staff. Accommodated the late check in I needed due to the function running later. Classic motel look and feel.
- John (4/5): - The bed was actually comfortable
The coffee maker was filthy and pot did not match the machine. Staff had no idea where to get the proper pot so gave us another filthy dirty one that did not work !! Gave us a third one they said was new but it was also not overly clean but we cleaned it and it worked . Dissappointing after having stayed there 2 years ago when all was fine !!
- Ken (8/5): - It was clean an comfy but thing is cable channels a lot of blank channels
- Enkhnyamaa (2/5): - Stay away! I got bed bag bites
- Lonnie (10/5): - Awesome
- Wayne (2/5): - The room had seen better times. The heating did not work on a cold night.
- Victor S H (4/5): Poor Hygiene - Flies all over the place, bed sheets and toilet are dirty.
- Bryan (2/5): Owner & Staff Laughed - We locked our selves out of the room at 5:00am and had to wait till 11:00am for office to open to get a key. Desk clerk & owner laughed at our situation even though the office phone # went unanswered, office doorbell went unanswered and office suppose to open at 8:00am. Owner clearly didn't care about the 6 hrs. we spent outside in our sleep clothes being stared at by the drug addicts touring through the motel. Was told I should have called Yorkton RCMP and they would have picked the lock for us...REALLY. "YOU COULDN'T PAY ME TO STAY AT THE YORKE INN AGAIN"
- Shawn (10/5): - It’s kinda retro but very well kept up and clean
- Gertrude (4/5): - The bath mat had black mould and was unusable. No cup to drink coffee or water. Found a needle cap on the shelf above the clothes rack and the top of shelf was dirty, also tops of wall heaters were very dirty,
- Richard (6/5): - Air conditioning not working overall place needs to be up dated. Gap in door way Tv channels are limited
- garrysL2188PG (2/5): A bed that is okay, but nothing else - A broken refrigerator, a plugged tub drain, and no toilet paper. The room was not clean and I worried if I walked barefoot. All the plugins were so worn out that phone chargers would fall out. Not the worst place I have stayed , but close to it.
- Marcel (8/5): - Convenience for short stay
- Dawn (6/5): - It did the job, a place to rest on a long road trip
- Robert (2/5): - I’m disappointed that this property is even on Expedia. This is the worst motel I’ve stayed in ever (I’m 64). The place was filthy. There was poop in the toilet, everything was incredibly filthy. I used Clorox wipes and you should have seen the colour of them afterwards. The sheets were stained. The towels were either dirty or stained and frayed. There was no working smoke detector in the room. The door to the room looked like it had been kicked in several times. I read several positive reviews and they’re not accurate all! If I wasn’t traveling by motor, I would have slept in my car.
- Robcoop152 (2/5): Not for most people - The hotel owner was very friendly, but this place is a dump! If there had been another hotel in the area available, I would have eaten the money I paid and bailed. The room is absolutely filthy. The sheets and towels were stained as well. Oh the last person left a gift in the toilet and nobody bothered to check/clean. The tv was even filthy, as is the fridge, microwave. The smoke detector is gone. I wouldn’t stay here for free if I ever came back to Yorkton.
- Garry (10/5): - Was excellent for the price and served our needs
- James (6/5): - Rooms were clean, but severely in need of an update, room smelled of stale cigarette smoke, and all around quality of hotel was just icky. Outside of hotel and surrounding property was dirty and just sketchy.
- William (6/5): - Wasn’t overly bad, but the bed sucked.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay anywhere else - The hotel was sketchy enough that our employee chose to sleep in their vehicle over staying there. The staff was rude to both our employee and the next day with the Hotels.com agent who looked into it.
- Verified traveler (8/5): A room with value for your buck - The room had all the basic requirements for a value priced stay. There were a few low cost repairs that the room could use like the switch on the bed table light replaced and the out side door frame had been broken at one time and it looks shabby but in fairness it did lock well and room was quiet and comfortable . Bed needs a larger cover
- Joseph (6/5): - Had a reservation but it took a while before someone came to open the door after knocking and ringing the bell many times. Otherwise okay!
- Christopher (8/5): - It was clean and close to where we need to be
- james (8/5): - Host was very accommodating, she went out of her way to make the two nights pleasant, including letting us check in early as we had an appointment out of town,. Other than The broken glass and some nails found on the parking lot, the Yorke inn was a nice 2 day stay would go back there
