- Claire (10/5): Stunning views, lovely accommodation! - Stunning room and beautiful surroundings, especially in the summer heat we experienced whilst we were there. The room was spacious, with a large (and really comfy) bed. A sofa, mini fridge and TV were available to use. Large shower and lots of sockets to plug things in. I could talk for ages about the views from the french doors / patio in the morning - it was stunning! Green as far as the eye could see. Fresh coffee sachets, water, biscuits and milk in the morning were a lovely added touch. An additional thanks to the owners for accommodating our super late check in! Wasn't super clear what to do for checkout (where to leave keys), although I may have missed it.

- jane (7/5): Clean, friendly but overpriced and oversold given its flaws - Large clean room and friendly staff The description “garden view” should not be applied to a view into the car park. Very disappointing. The bathroom seemed to have an issue with the drains (sewage smell). There was no way of safely leaving a window open in bedroom - it was a fully opening patio door on the ground floor (no tip-tilt and no other windows). When the door was open the exhaust from the boiler a couple of meters away came straight in the room. The cover to the switch on bedside table is broken and was on the floor in the morning - exposing wires in the switch. The breakfast was tasty but small (cooked breakfast was a single sausage, single mushroom etc).
- William (10/5): The Pheasant is a lovely place to stay, the bedrooms are very large and have a super comfy bed. - The staff at The Pheasant are delightful. We had to leave early on the first day, and they made up a special breakfast pack and placed them in our fridges whilst we had dinner.
- David (10/5): Lovely stay in a warm, welcoming and cosy Pub with large, comfortable Guest Rooms adjacent. - Very large, warm, quiet and comfortable room. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Enjoyed a very tasty full English Breakfast and the Evening Meals were equally delicious. Cosy Pub and Bar areas with a real fire in the morning. Easy to find and ample free parking.

The views from the room were stunning. The food was delicious, particularly the chilli prawns and lemon posset with raspberry was all excellent. They even made me birthday ice-cream with candle. We liked everything the room was a bit warm but windows opened onto the gorgeous view and there was a fan so all was good.

- Karen (4/5): Very unsettling! - Location lovely, beautiful view from bedroom window. Clean room and bedding, good breakfast. A rude and aggressive member of staff. A simple request for extra drinking water in our room, as there was only enough for one person, on an extremely hot night, ended in a full blown and very heated argument between myself and Amy, who not only denied us another bottle, but chose to publicly shout at me! It really spoilt our 2nd night's stay. To her credit she did apologise after, however insincere. The whole incident was very nasty and unsettling, particularly as this place has very recently been taken over by new owners. No one should be treated the way i was, let alone paying guests over a request for drinking water! I hope this doesn't happen to any future guests, but I would not stay here again, even though I have family in the area. This is the first time I have ever written a bad review, and I have not enjoyed doing it, I hope I never have to write another on my travels!

- Andrew (9/5): A Pleasant Surprise in Gestingthorpe - A nice overnight stop with a lovely room, the Samuel Courtauld with beautiful countryside views and friendly staff. We felt really welcome! The new owners are in transition and are working hard to make it successful. Evening meal and breakfast were very good with the pub obviously being the hub of the village. It was good to see it being very busy midweek for both locals and visitors alike. Nothing.

- Bridget (9/5): A lovely place to stay in the country. - We had a lovely stay at The Pheasant, the staff were friendly, the room was lovely and in a great location. Breakfast was good served hot with good produce. Plenty off parking. Two small niggles. We love the sunlight but the morning light streamed into our room causing me to wake. A blackout blind would have helped. The fan in the bathroom stayed on for ages during the night which also kept me awake.

- Tim (9/5): A delightful pub tucked away in beautiful countryside, with luxurious rooms and amazing food. - What a lovely experience. The staff were really welcoming and went out of their way to cater for our late arrival, including taking our meal order before arrival so that we wouldn't miss out on dinner. The food was delicious and the pub cosy. We had a stunning room with a great view out over the fields, a lovely window seat, very comfortable bed and a luxurious shower. In the morning we had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and the fried breakfast, which was hands down the best I have ever had; sweet fried baby tomatoes and some unknown but delicious recipe for their mushrooms, great bacon and toast, just perfection. The only thing that could have made the room better would have been air conditioning, perhaps a future upgrade?
