- amadisimo_1 (2/5): Do not expect sleep, or rest, or nap... - Even after reading previous reviews warning about noise, we stayed because most of our group was booked at this hotel. That was a mistake. While the hotel’s location is excellent, it unfortunately holds the dubious distinction of having the noisiest room I have ever attempted—unsuccessfully—to sleep in: Zanate House, Cenzontle Room 305. This room is not suitable for sleeping. At best, it can be used to shower and freshen up. The room is located directly below the terrace restaurant, where staff begin dragging chairs and tables as early as 6:00 a.m. and continue until 2:00 a.m. Patrons also move furniture throughout the restaurant’s operating hours. As a result, there is no possibility of naps, proper nighttime sleep, or any meaningful rest. To make matters worse, the room is adjacent to an extremely noisy elevator, which can be clearly heard every time it is used—whether out of necessity or simply to avoid walking two flights of stairs. If rest or sleep matters to you, avoid this venue.

Las habitaciones son muy oscuras, como zulos sin ningún tipo de luz natural. La ducha se inunda y encharca todo el baño. El personal de recepción no es especialmente amable... No hay ni un lugar para leer un libro cómodamente. Además es muy ruidoso.
- Blanca (4/5): RELACION PRECIO - CALIDAD NO FUE SATISFACTORIA - El desayuno muy bueno, creo que fue lo único que me agradó del hotel, aparte de la ubicación, pero honestamente por ubicación, hubiera elegido otros hoteles que hubieran salido igual de precio pero mas calidad. La tina de la terraza no es privada, te ven los de otros restaurantes aledaños, honestamente es muy incómodo pues prácticamente los tienes encima de ti observándote, adicional se les pidió que la pusieran a calentar a cierta hora y se les olvidó, para cuando calentó, ya era muy tarde. El ruido es excesivo incluso de su misma terraza/bar, pienso que deberían decidirse entre que, si es hotel o bar, para el costo de la suite junior la incomodidad del ruido es exagerada. El piso de la suite estaba sucio cuando llegamos, habia como tierra y la puerta del baño es incomoda y poco privada. No me volvería a quedar ahí, la relación calidad precio me parece no es la correcta, tampoco lo recomendaria.

Walls made of thin drywall, and you can hear all the noise for other rooms and hallways. Hotel and Rooms are not 4 stars. At most, 2 stars. Restaurant is understaffed and service was a struggle every morning . Will not return and do not recommend .

- J2343GLmichaels (2/5): Ruined the Oaxaca experience - BE AWARE: We booked this hotel for our honeymoon and it was the biggest mistake. From the time we checked in, I saw the red flags. First they gave us a different room than we originally booked. Receptionist kept saying it was similar because our specific room was already booked. We didn’t have cash because we arrived late (needed to exchange money) and could not tip the luggage guy so he got upset. The sheets were stained, fortunately I reported as we did the walkthrough. However, sheets were not replaced. They said there was a jacuzzi but was not working but had no access. Shower and toilet. A nightmare. Shower is very slippery. Who uses title for a shower? Soap+water+title flooring!! We had to use minimal soap and placed towels because it was slippery. Electrical cords hanging in the shower ceiling? That’s a first. The toilet. Just horrible. No privacy whatsoever. For a romantic night, make sure you don’t need to use the toilet. My wife and I had to literally leave the room if we wanted to use the toilet because can hear and see. Why? Because is not an actual door, is a divider attached to a door frame. We tried talking to the manager. Adriana Quintana. Refused to talk to us, all the receptionists just pointed fingers at each other. We paid in full and when we checked out, we were asked to paid another cleaning fee but in cash. No receipt or form. Straight up asked to 500 pesos cash for “additional cleaning”. Also, the WiFi is very slow. In my own experience they took advantage of us from the beginning. I regret staying here. Don’t trust Tik-Tok or social media. That’s how we found this hotel. I think they pay some or most of these “influencers” to give you a pretty picture of the hotel. However, the actual experience was not pleasant. Also I went to their website and the photos of the rooms are a mix of all the hotel rooms. Our room had some photos of the actual room, but half of the other photos were from a different room. Not a 5 star hotel Not worth the price Scam

We stayed for just one night and when we arrived, the bed sheets were already stained (our mistake was not complaining right away). When we checked out, they charged us 5,700 Mexican pesos for the cost of the sheets and “several stained items.” It’s really sad how there’s always abuse toward tourists, trying to overcharge whenever they can.

The rooms are right next to a rooftop bar with DJ and the noise level is unbearable. They provide earplugs which should be suspicious enough but they do very little vs the level of decibels. Impossible to sleep until after 1am. This is not a hotel. It is a bar with rooms next to it. PEOPLE SHOULD CAREFULLY READ THE REVIEWS AND NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF BOOKING THINKING THEY WILL BE ABLE TO REST.

The bathroom was not cleaned when we arrived, and upon check out they charged us $7 for a small wash cloth we had used to clean the edge of the bathtub with. Additionally, they ruined one of our suitcase telescopic handle, had five maintenance staff trying to fix it,and failed, and refused to reimburse us or credit one night. Horrrible experience. I made a reservation about a year in advance put a deposit down for this property when booking and I was supposed to pay the remaining balance at the property the day of the stay. well in about 4 months from me making the reservation the whole amount was withdrawn from my account which was no problem cause I was staying at the property anyway and never thought nothing of it. About 2 days before staying at this property something told me call the property to verify my reservation well come to find out the property cancelled my reservation 2 days before the money was withdrawn which did not make any sense why would they cancel my reservation and then charge me the whole amount and come to find out the property claimed they don’t have any record of them withdrawing the whole amount and it was clearly shown on my statement. So disappointed we’ve planned this for a whole year with flights paid and everything. I had to cancel my vacation to this place they also did not help me in trying to resolve my refund. So I don’t recommend this place at all. Moral of the story if you had the money withdrawn from your account for this property make sure you call them frequently to confirm your reservation till the last day don’t trust this place!!!!

Also, most of the non staying visitors coming down from the restaurant upstairs are loud, and don’t have respect for the guests, Sunday, it was almost midnight and everybody leaving the restaurant was loud, and later the employees doing the cleaning and talking loud.

The church and museum are also located in front of you. It was also very clean with amazing staff that were so welcoming and helpful. The only thing I didn’t like about the property was that people who stayed at the hotel couldn’t go up to the rooftop at nighttime just to hang out unless they were buying from the restaurant or bar.

- 411td (2/5): AVOID THIS HOTEL - an absolutely horrible experience. despite having a nicer room (at a higher price) the noise in the room was unbearable. the window was broken and couldn't be fully closed, so more noise came in. you could see light around the door to the room, so more noise coming in. we were told that we could only get a 50% refund, and still we left and went to another hotel. then they refused to give any refund!! DO NOT STAY HERE.
- Sali (3/5): At $500AUD a night i felt extremely ripped off ! - As a solo traveller I felt safe & it is in a good location. My room was small with no windows and no natural light & it was so noisy I couldn’t sleep until all the partygoers had gone home at 1 or 2 am.
- hernse1 (8/5): Must be ok with noise - There's a lot to like about this hotel. The location is perfect with lots of outdoor markets and sellers right outside the hotel. There are also lots of great restaurants, bars, and shops. The hotel itself is lovely, with friendly and helpful staff, well appointed rooms, a great rooftop restaurant and bar. The hotel contracts with drivers that can provide transportation from/to the airport, or to points of interest. However, it was only after booking our room online that we received an email from the hotel notifying us that due to its central location, there will be noise from the rooftop restaurant and surrounding streets that can be heard in the rooms at night. We took that under advisement and packed a white noise machine and earplugs. We had a room on the second floor, and really by 12:30 pm, the hotel was quiet. Our friends had rooms on the first floor, and they heard noises from the surrounding streets and restaurants that went on until 1 am, but everyone just slept in and seemed well rested the next day.
