In general, all decoration is very beautiful. - The location is excellent and they provide parking in the old city (which is hard to get). Extremely minor nitpick: - No elevator, so you have to carry the luggage up the stairs - Connection of the TV to Wifi broke all 15 minutes, so watching a movie was not really possible -- could have been due to many guests in the hotel at the time.

Direkt im Erdgeschoss mit Fenster zum Gastgarten, sodass jeder ins Zimmer sehen konnte. Die Klimaanlage kann nicht selbständig deaktiviert werden. Wir haben nur eine Zimmer Karte bekommen.

Breakfast was fantastic with lots of choices. Bed was comfortable. Small detail but tea situation was not great. Tea was not always replaced and mostly fruit teas were supplied. It would be great to also offer Earl Grey, English Breakfast and some milk and for guests from Australia and UK

The location was terrific & we really liked the Italian restaurant across the alley which was recommended to us by the desk clerk when we arrived. We appreciated having a hot breakfast as part of the room charge. It was delicious & presented nicely. Since our bags were heavy, it would’ve been nice to have an elevator. Also, I managed to get locked in my room the last morning of our stay! The rooms were a little dark & hard to control the temperature.

- michaelt238874Y (10/5): A Relaxing Stay in Zadar Old Town - We had recently spent one relaxing night at the Almayer Art and Heritage Hotel. We were driving from Šibenik to Zagreb and decided to take a break at Zadar. At the time of check in we were offered a choice of a Loft Room in the main building and a room (which is like a studio flat) in the Bianchini Block. We chose the Bianchini Block so we don’t have to deal with internal stairs. The room itself is spacious, well heated, comes with all the usual amenities. The balcony looks out to a sculpture square and the Church of our Lady of Health. Quite a pleasant outlook. The location of the hotel is excellent: it’s a short walk to the Sea Organ, Promenade, Old Town, Christmas Market etc. Breakfast was served in the green house at the back of the main building. Mateo whom we met at check in was very helpful and friendly. We reserved a parking space in advance and that was a wise decision as I noticed that all the parking spaces in Zadar were all taken. Overall we had an enjoyable stay and would recommend Almayer.

The manager, Elena, truly stood out with her exceptional dedication to details and genuine care for the hotel and overall guest experience. The room was beautifully designed, and I was especially impressed by the exceptionally high-quality and comfortable bedding. The hotel radiates elegance, a peaceful atmosphere, and top-level service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special stay in Zadar. I will gladly return!

- victoriahN3143PL (8/5): Beautiful hotel in the heart of Zadar - We stayed here for two nights at the end of a two week trip around Croatia and Montenegro. It is a beautiful hotel that has been very thoughtfully designed. Our rooms in the Annex were huge with lovely touches - panelling, bespoke wallpaper, roll top bath, huge rain shower. I’m sure even the toilet had sound proofing!! The only thing missing from the room for us was bathrobes - it just felt like there should have been there given the luxury of the room and that we had slippers. On our floor we also didn’t have a coffee machine. Breakfast was in a lovely setting over the road. Plenty of choice unless you are dairy, meat and gluten free like me. The only options were toast and fruit as the breakfast was heavily egg based which was a shame. We booked their parking at an extra cost after I did some research. I was really glad as cars were being towed away including one of the guests checking in at the same time. It meant we didn’t have to worry so worth every penny. Would definitely recommend the hotel and Zadar itself which is beautiful and a perfect final stop before flying home.

The location could not have been any better. It was the best situation to the wall, with a view of the harbour and a few steps to the Sea Organs. The room was really special. The high ceilings, the storage for clothing, the comfortable bed and the deep Parisian blue wall paint with artful wallpaper. This was a perfect location and would highly recommend this Hotel!

- barbara (7/5): Alles war schön, bis auf zwei bis drei Dingen - Alles war sehr schön eingerichtet. Unser Auto wurde täglich vom Personal geparkt ohne Gebühren. Man konnte sich Tee und Kaffee jederzeit selber zubereiten. Defekter Toiletten Deckel, der nach Ansprache auch nicht repariert wurde. Sehr sehr schlechte Matratze . Die Speisen beim Frühstück sowie der Kaffee waren kalt.

- Richard (6/5): Lovely for a short stay in a ground floor room perhaps. - The breakfasts are good, fixed a la carte offerings. Limited additions of breads etc. the location is excellent. The parking is very easy if there are spaces available Our room had a floating loft that had the bed, there was no options to hang or lay clothes, there was only a bed and two bedside tables. To access the loft there was a steep tight floating steel frame stairs that creaked when used. The room lighting was poor and this added to the angst of the stairs at night. The ceiling lights are a dimmer system whereby you hold the switch and they glow increasingly, they did not work effectively and were very annoying and useless during the night. The main feature on the booking page is the courtyard, this was closed after 2pm so an evening drink as advertised was not an option. We did not used the room safe but access would be difficult for most females as it was at the back of a high shelf, my wife could not really reach the key pad.

We stayed at the anneks on the 3rd floor with balcony and seaview so the review is based on that, but it honestly is the best hotel i have ever been to only surpassed by El Fenn in marrakesh which cost the double of here. So extremely pleased with everything!

- Sylvain (10/5): - Beautiful Hotel in the old Zadar. They have rooms where the reception and restaurant are located but have lot of rooms accross the road in the part that they call the Annex. We had a room number 4 in the annex. Spacious, nice decoration, spacious bathroom. Safe, fridge. Water, tea and coffee station in the hallway.
- helenrhodaa (8/5): Beautifully, but not thoughtfully converted - Whilst this property has been beautifully converted, and the staff are friendly, competent and kind, there's no getting over the fact that the main building was originally the annex of a military hospital, meaning the rooms have a very small footprint. The new owner's solution -- at least in the case of our room -- was to make a sleeping loft with skylights. That means you have to navigate a daunting metal staircase in order to use the (beautifully appointed but tiny) bathroom at night. Downstairs, there was a small sofa jammed into a corner under a window, but nowhere to comfortably lounge together, especially as the room was also dark. At the price point, I was disappointed that the room was basically somewhere to sleep and bathe and not much else. Sadly, there are no common areas with comfortable seating either, although the restaurant, with extensive indoor and outdoor space, is lovely, and you're welcome to sit there at all hours. Furthermore, the room's door handle -- a seriously high-end piece of hardware -- had been fitted too close to the door jamb, so both of us injured our knuckles until we learned the hard way to pull the door closed with a left hand. The food at the restaurant is excellent, as is the service. Zadar is short on mid- or high-end accommodation, so this should be an option, but don't choose it if you're planning a romantic chill with a little sightseeing. The hotel has two other buildings that sounds like they might be a better bet -- call to ask.

- Margaret (9/5): Peaceful and magical stay in Zadar close to Sea Organ/Sun Salutation - Almayer Art & Heritage Hotel is a lovely accommodation that is 3 minutes away from the beach, the sea organ, and sun salutation in Zadar. I was able to check in at night, quickly shower, and then immediately head to the beach to experience the sea organ and sun salutation at sunset. The whole experience was magical. In addition, Sasha gave excellent recommendations for seafood and was incredibly helpful with parking on-site. He also made me feel very welcome and comfortable (procuring ice so that I could have cold refreshments in my room). The breakfast in the morning at the adjoining restaurant was delicious and the relaxing and peaceful vibes of the restaurant might be some of the best in the entire city. Just thinking about the quiet morning I spent happily eating and admiring the restaurant scenery makes me nostalgic. I thought my room was a bit warm when I entered. I would have been a bit more comfortable had it gotten colder faster but I immediately checked in and then went to the beach to see the sun salutation and hear the sea organ at sunset, so there wasn't a lot of time for my room to get cool (the electricity depends on placing the key card in a holder).
