• Bai (10/5): we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Windermere! - We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is unbeatable, right in the core area of Windermere. It is just a short walk from the train station and bus stops, which made exploring the Lake District so easy. Plus, there are plenty of great restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were welcoming and helpful, providing us with lots of useful local tips and travel advice. As for the room, it was clean, tidy, and comfortable—you can tell they maintain high standards of hygiene. Lastly, they helped us store our luggage at a reasonable price after check-out, which was a huge help. Everything was perfect, and we highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Windermere!

• Sydney (9/5): - Our stay at the White Rose was a very comfortable and relaxed experience. It added to the cosiness of the area and was in an amazing location. Just a minute's walk away from the centre of town, there were plenty of shops and restaurants around. We didn't have a car, so we relied on public transportation like the buses to get around the area and came from the train station, which was just a short walk away. It was a great location in terms of transportation links. Graham was an amazing host, providing us recommendations for restaurants, hikes, and even allowing us to store our luggage while we spent the last day exploring before catching a later train. Check-in was seamless, and entering and exiting the property was simple and easy. For two people, the room was spacious with all the necessary appliances, the bathroom was clean, and the bed was comfortable.
• Mary (10/5): - Very great amenities and accommodative host! The room was ready for me at 10:30am and the host was right outside of the door when I arrived with radiant smiles welcoming me in! Feels like home with the clean beddings, very reasonable check out time as well. Would stay here again!

We liked the quiet location We liked that tea and coffee was available in room Shower The water was not hot and the space to shower was tiny . I had two cold showers . I turned the dial to the hottest but at best it was tepid . My partner suffered it once and didn’t bother again . Showers are very important to us so this was a big thing to us . Would have liked a small fridge in room as nowhere to keep a bottle of wine or soft drinks .

• Lucy (10/5): Very comfortable and enjoyable stay - Very Clean, friendly and accommodating host, everything you need for a comfortable stay in the lakes. Good location, you can go a bus into Bowness and we enjoyed taking the lake cruise to Ambleside. Orrest head is also a beautiful walk very close by. It was nice that the facilities included a few different tea, coffee and milk options. I like very milky tea and this is the only place I’ve found that gives me enough milks! There isn’t any parking but parking at B&Bs is rare in Windermere and we knew this before we arrived. There is a pay and display carpark opposite which if you buy an early bird ticket is only £1.20 for the day! There is also free parking on the road but we found there was never any spaces. The room was very warm despite the freezing weather and the bed and pillows were very comfortable.

The room was well equipped with teas and coffees and milk (even soy and oat milk!) and all the bits and pieces you would hope for from a small room. Although the room is excellent, I’ve given it a 9 as the room is on the smaller side and quite old shower etc

Comfortable beds and everything u needed for an average sized room. Bathroom compact but host had provided all accessories and toiletries. No breakfast provided but value for money for the room in that area. Plumbing in the house kept you awake when other guests turned on the taps or used bathroom facilities.

Location was very good too, only a 2 min walk from the shops and restaurants. As I said the room was alittle on the small side, so had my wife been able to stay too we would have been under each others feet abit. That being said, it was good room for the size of the overall property.

A nice selection of tea and coffee was laid out as well which we hugely appreciated! We were provided with all the basic amenities needed for a short stay. The whole place was exceptionally clean and pleasant, our room had everything one could ask for and although we only stayed for one night, it was a calm and silent one. The host was warm and welcoming, wish we could’ve stayed longer to pick his brain about the area. Absolutely recommend.

• Shevlin (10/5): Exceptional - It was booked as a weekend away, travelling from Manchester it was taking 2hrs or so after work arriving Friday evening. Very accommodating with our arrival late evening, and when arriving took the time to show us around and make us feel very welcomed. Graham the owner shared loads of things about the surrounding area and gave us some things to do which we ended up doing and ticking off and it was great. The location was perfect very close to the village center only a couple minutes walk to some little shops, cafes and restaurants. Overall it was excellent and I would happily return and explore more.

Graham was the perfect host, made us feel very welcome and was very knowledgeable about the area. The accommodation was excellent 10/10 the room was spotless, lovely double room, nicely decorated and a very comfortable bed. Exceptional tea and coffee tray which even included a coffee pot and fresh coffee,wine glasses and corkscrew. There was everything you could need. Bathroom was spotless, soft large bath towels and lovely toiletries. Wish we could have stayed longer. There was nothing not to like about White Rose.

• Joe (7/5): On this visit to Windermere it suited us fine. A very pleasant stay. - We don’t usually stay in guest houses, but in this instance we needed somewhere close to where our relatives were staying whilst on a seasonal holiday from Australia. On arrival we were met by the owner Graham nice friendly chap and very helpful, easy check in, handed keys and you can come and go as you like. We had room three at the front of the house, complete with a small en-suite shower and toilet and wash basin. Very Comfortable bed, tv ok, very good choice of teas and coffee. The only thing that didn’t really suit us was the heating in the room, I do understand it can’t be left on all day as most guests would be out and about and wasted energy costs money, unfortunately we were in and out during the day so sometimes the room was cold with no way of heating it up. But we managed, so no drama.
