- Kelvin (8/5): - The whole house is great, individual room was good. Breakfast had a good range of food and drinks. The individual rooms have separate coded locks, unfortunately ours would not lock from the outside. The property is advertised as being at 'Island Park' however it is approx 15 mins from that location, and is not close to any food, drink, fuel outlets. Good if you want to stay in the wilderness just take food with you.

Fun to meet other guests. A few minor issues; the shower didn’t drain during use, some of the slats from the blinds were broken, the small heater did not work. Breakfast options felt slightly limited.

Good location, we stayed one night on our way from Grand Teton to Yellowstone. They also offer very nice self-service breakfast service. Overall very nice money for value, fully recommend to stay here. Our room (Deer) was a bit small, but we knew what we were getting. They have a lot of rules/information. I appreciate that, but sometimes the signs and instructions sound a bit aggressive and make you feel you are a troublemaker by default. I would recommend rephrasing them.

- Rachel (10/5): Amazing place - Beautiful- outstanding location. Quiet times were observed by everyone. The room- we had the ensuite Eagle room- was huge. Double sink, separate cupboard with chest of drawers. HUGE bed and sofa too. So quiet that a great night sleep was had every night. Also a huge beautiful lounge. Soo comfortable. Breakfast was great. Choice of cereal, pancakes, fruit, muffins, bagels. Really couldn't ask for anything more. Oh and laundry facilities for $4. Only downside was you had to stick to between 4pm and 8pm for laundry but on our last night we managed to get back from Yellowstone by 8. Took about 50 mins to West Yellowstone on easy straight road. Nothing. If I was being super picky I would say the nearest restaurant and supermarket was 15 to 20.mins away but honestly, eat in West Yellowstone and get bk to The Hideaway to enjoy the peace and quiet.

- Luciano (1/5): I checked out before my reservation was over - There are only two positive points about the lodge: the building itself looks great and it’s clean. The good things end here. The staff and rules ruin the experience. I booked two nights in September 2025 during a two-week road trip. On the morning of my first stay, I received a two-page message through the Booking.com app with “self-check-in” instructions. It came at 8 a.m., when I had already been driving for four hours. Even if I had seen it, who has time to read something that long while traveling? By the end of the day, tired and hoping for a smooth check-in, I walked into the lodge. A woman sat on the sofa with her laptop, completely ignoring me — no “hello” or acknowledgment. I thought she was a guest, until much later she finally spoke, clearly annoyed, telling me the instructions were “on top of the cabinet.” She then scolded me for not reading the message sent earlier, complaining that “people don’t read instructions.” That tone made me feel like I was the problem, rather than a paying guest. I had also received an SMS with the room name and padlock code, but when I replied with a question, no one ever answered. After some unpleasant exchanges, I eventually found the room. While waiting for my wife, I overheard another guest facing the exact same issue. So it wasn’t just me — this seems to happen often. Honestly, this person seems unhappy dealing with people and might be in the wrong business. The next morning, we packed our things and left for Yellowstone. By evening, we looked for another place to stay and were lucky to find a motel in West Yellowstone. It was simple, clean, and run by staff who treated guests with patience and basic politeness — which is all it takes. Also, if you arrive “late” or if you leave early, you can’t shower or use the kitchen. After a full day exploring Yellowstone, it doesn’t sound good. And don’t underestimate distances. Yellowstone is huge, and this lodge is far from the West Entrance. If you want to see wildlife at dawn or visit Lamar Valley, this location doesn’t work. Final verdict: I do not recommend.

- Brenda (6/5): - We were traveling through the area and booked this room. The area is very remote and the cabin can hold several families with shared spaces including the kitchen and bathrooms. We were not fully aware of this at the time of booking but the owner sent specific directions to reach the property and house rules once we booked. There was no television or refrigerator in our room. Our room was well-decorated, located on the top floor and the door was wide open when we arrived. If you don’t mind sharing a house with other travelers from around the world, this space is for you.

However, on the very first day after check-in, the power went out, which was quite inconvenient. When I decided to cancel the rest of my stay, I was told that no refund would be given. This was disappointing, as I believe guests should be offered fair options in such situations.

Never stayed at a place with a shared kitchen but that was nice, it worked well having access to a full kitchen. The provided lots of common seating areas, inside and out. When we texted the staff, they responded quickly. Lodge was clean and in great shape. Having to prepare our own breakfast made us not us the offerings. It was just easier to get donuts. Cool they offered us options but making it ourselves brought out the laziness in us, lol.

It would be helpful if the quiet hours were changed to 11-6. Most everyone was going to Yellowstone and it was hard to wait until 6:30 to shower in the morning since it took close to 2 hours to get in the park.

This accommodation has too many rules which make sense because of the type of the accommodation, but there is really too many of them. Also there was too many information, messages regarding the accommodation which were coming via SMS and also via Booking messages so it was easy to get lost in it. The breakfast was first come first serve, we went for breakfest around 8:30 every morning and no fruit and jogurts remained for us (both mornings)

- glenda (6/5): Nice lodge but in a remote location - The lodge was huge, nicely decorated and furnished and the communal areas well equipped and clean. The bedroom was quirky in a nice way. The property was more remote and far from the Western entrance of Yellowstone than we had thought, and we didn’t realise it had overtones of a hostel. Our initial impression of the property wasn’t helped by the scruffy appearance of the patio and dirty sofa outside, or being taken through the dismal ground floor to access the upstairs lodge, which was actually very nice. We were greeted by someone who we thought was a rather overexcited guest. We were not impressed by the fact that the kitchen oven was out of order and one small hot plate was provided for the guests to cook their food. We had taken food that required an oven and it went to waste. Also, we should’ve been warned before hand that the property’s water supply had been condemned due to bacteria being detected. They provided bottles of water but we feel we should’ve been given the opportunity to cancel in view of the water and limited cooking facilities. We cut our stay short to go elsewhere.

- Libby (8/5): - The lodge is beautiful and clean, but we were unable to drink the tap water because of contamination and the stove in the kitchen was non-functioning leaving only a hot plate to cook on.

- Geoffrey (8/5): - The hotel room was cozy and pretty decent as was the building with plenty of shared space to relax after exploring the area. The breakfast options are ok but limited. There’s no TV in the room, and all appliances - kettle, coffee maker, microwave are in the kitchen. One thing that could be better is that the signage across various rooms was kind of overwhelming & ironically missing the most important sign of all - the one that shows you where to turn off / which building is the Hideaway Lodge. Currently the sign at the driveway entrance just says “Private” which is not what you’d normally see at a place that has guests on a regular basis.

- David (10/5): - Beth emailed all the instructions needed for access to the property. The shared bathroom and kitchen was a new experience for me. But it turned out well, thanks to Beths emails. It would be great to rent the whole place for a week for my family.
- John (6/5): - Very comfortable. Self check in. Not close to restaurants, but relatively close to Yellowstone, if that is your destination. Price is good.
- Terese (8/5): - Nice place to stay. A few things were out of order, but they were listed when we arrived.
