The location was unexpected...I thought when i booked that it was much closer to Maun center not realising there are 2 hotels. It didn't actually matter as we caught the shuttle to and from the hotel but it might be an idea to offer a choice The ongoing building was a downside

- Gail (6/5): I wouldn’t book again due to the bedroom design. - The property itself has potential ! Nice restaurant and bar area. At the front desk/concierge was a wonderful gentleman George ! He was exceptionally helpful during our stay with helping us with our bags/ transport etc other people in our group also commented how great he was. The bedrooms have the shower in the bedroom ! The last time I saw this was in a budget hotel in Peru. This really inconvenient if you are sharing a room and if single then the floor gets wet and the whole bedroom gets humid. This is basically a poor design and I am sure most guests would prefer the shower and toilet combined. I had booked for 3 nights and then on the second day I was informed that I needed to change room on the last afternoon as they were doing renovation work outside my room. It was obvious renovation work was ongoing when I initially went to my room as the corridor was dusty, missing tiles and had an uneven floor - we were not warned about this at booking or checking-in. But then to spend 2 nights living with this to then be asked to repack and move to a different room for the last night showed a total lack of management communication and in inconvenience to the plans I had made for that afternoon.

We had to move rooms due to construction and were advised with little notice. We paid a premium price for our room and did not receive appropriate value . The staff were excellent, in particular George who provided exceptional service ! It was a total mess , tiles misaligned and dust everywhere, scaffolding in front of room.

But all rooms don’t have a view. It’s not well kept. My room I had no electricity last two days drain smelled and made funny noise. Housekeeper tried to assist and but also advised drains are a problem and hotel won’t do anything. And boy did they do nothing and make it clear they don’t care about guest experience. I was also over charged. According to them hotel has its own currency conversion rate. My colleague paid Pula 5000 for the week I was forced to pay P10000. Service providers also told to charge more and in USD. Horrible experience.

- Monica (7/5): We had a lovely stay . It appears there is some work ongoing to upgrade the place . I would recommend a stay at this hot - The food was amazing , the staff were good. The whole setup is very good . It was raining and there was water in corridors , huge risk for slipping. I went to use the gym it was flooded with water . We were checked into a room that didn’t have power, and where woken up at7:30 am as the maintenance team had arrived , unfortunately we had checked into at 2 am and very tired . The 1st rooms we got had a shower next to our bed , an open shower no shower screen . But once we moved rooms , we loved it as there was a proper bathroom separate from the bed room .

Bett komfortabel, gut funktionierende Klimaanlage. Sehr hilfsbereite, professionelle Mitarbeiter. Küche und Speisen waren vielfältig, ausreichend, frisch und schmackhaft. Schöne Lage am Fluss und Aussicht abends auf einen wunderbaren afrikanischen Sonnenuntergang. Ein Hinweis: Beim Frühstück kam es zu einer für uns etwas unangenehmen Situation, da Gäste in einen Blumentopf gespuckt haben. Vielleicht könnte ein dezenter Hinweis auf Hygieneregeln im Frühstücksbereich helfen. Dem Hotel selbst ist jedoch kein Vorwurf zu machen.

- Buk (8/5): Beautiful river side hotel with two minor flaws in the room - The hotel is in a beautiful location right next to the river in a quiet area at the outskirts of Maun. The hotel entrance and the open lobby has a beautiful layout opening up to the river, a nice restaurant with delicious food (although our dishes took forever to get ready, as the chef discovered they were out of certain ingredients). There is a nice bar and a modest sized, but clean pool behind the bar. The river view from the room was also spectacular, but the windows were very dirty. The rest of the room was completely clean, and had a small fridge and a kettle. It is a little annoying that the security staff seem to have been instructed to not let you walk by the river. It would be better if the hotel then encouraged guided walks. The room we were given had a strange layout with the shower only separated from the rest of the room with a frosted glass wall on the one side, but the other side was completely open, even though there was rail that could have held a shower curtain. Not everybody wants to share their naked body with their room mate, so for goodness sake put up a shower curtain! I had seen this complaint in other reviews before booking, so it probably applies to many rooms, but I had expected it to have been corrected! Thankfully, the toilet is in it own walled-off room and has windows to open.

My final bill included accommodation which i had already paid for. Bill had to be re-issued. At your price point you could provide real coffee in the rooms.

- Jan (8/5): Great option for Maun stay at the beginning or end of your safari - On the outskirts of Maun, Cresta Maun (not to be confused with Cresta Riley) is a good option if you have a car/van or don't mind using taxis to get around and into the city. A mid-range, pleasant hotel with modern facilities, it has a nice pool, bar and dining area, dine in breakfast buffet and decent rooms. We had one stay in a suite, which was large, especially the bathroom area. The second stay was in a second smaller standard room, which looked as if it had been refurbished. Both were fine. The thing that distinguishes the hotel is it's friendly staff. Although our stay wasn't perfect, the staff always attempted to help us and made every effort to look after us. We felt very lucky to stay there. Bar staff could do with a little more training, with gin being served instead of vodka etc. The air con units don't work as well as they should. We used ours with our fan, directing the cold air around the room :) We had some delay with check in on the first day, with a late check out somehow scheduled for our room which delayed cleaning. We waited two hours in 38 degrees so it wasn't a great start. But the staff really tried very hard to make sure we were looked after and everything went smoothly after that.
- Werner (1/5): Be warned, even though you have booking they might not have a room available for you. - Confirmed our booking twice with them, and confirmed that we will check in late. On arrival no rooms available. 20:00 at night our group had to find alternative accommodation in Maun.
- Charles (4/5): Disappointing - The building is poorly maintained and they have a major issue with their sewerage. The entire premises smells like shit! Even the smell coming from the drains inside the room, reek of a poorly functioning /maintained sewerage treatment system. And gosh, if you going to maintain a property, do it properly! Shitty maintenance is worse than no maintenance. Food is dismal, I would rather pay for breakfast than get a free shitty breakfast in a boiling hot dining room. They never set tables outside. The smell of shit in the air. Water saving device on basin, you cannot use it!! Need to brush teeth in the shower. Stupid key cards that don't work half the time. Meaning you have to go back to reception everytime you get back to the hotel.
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Good breakfast. Comfortable bed and friendly bar and waitstaff. It is a bit old and worn out. The carpets and sofas in the suite could do with a good clean or replacing. There should be bed side lamps on both sides of the bed in a suite. Reception staff could be more friendly and helpful.

We arrived a bit early, but they used around 15min just to find our bookings, then they used another 10min to find out if some rooms where ready, in the end we just left to go for lunch another place to give them time to sort out some rooms. When we came back 1h45min later they had still not found us some rooms. Took another 20mins for them to check us in! By which time we had just 10mins for the 3 of us to get a shower and go to the airport to do the helicopter trip we had booked. Otherwise hotel was good, just that it was really noisy when people talked outside rooms.
