• Omar (9/5): It’s a relaxed place - The property is widespread and very clean. It has kitchen and many places to sit. Coffee and water available free all the time. Many places to eat nearby. The people were nice. It’s far from the beach and the annoying thing is you think you booked a room with its own bathroom but in reality the bathroom is one of three bathrooms located outside the room and they all have one enterence but each one has the room number you are in. I think this should have been explained so you know what you are booking. We were in room number three.

Les lits sont très confortables et l'espace avec cuisine et petit coin salon est très appréciable lorsqu'on est une famille. Tout est très propre et c'est très calme. Pour se déplacer, il faut prendre un Tuk Tuk ( 400 pesos pour 4) pour la withe beach ou louer des scooters ( 600p. le + petit). N'hésitez pas à y aller !

The owner was very nice to warn us that they don’t have a generator and gave us the option to still cancel due to typhoon possible power outage. Quite far from the main tourist area, restaurants, etc. about 3km, so you need ride or tuktuk. Small room and old. A refurbishing and a white color on the walls would make it look and feel way better. A properly new hand soap would be very much appreciated, and not only the bottle filled with water… Breakfast could be a bit more upgraded.

• Rodrigo (1/5): Actively spying on me invaded My Privacy, Unsafe, Outdated, and Completely Unacceptable - I would absolutely not recommend staying at MJ's Residences Garden Hotel in Moalboal. My experience here was deeply uncomfortable, bordering on unacceptable, especially in terms of privacy violations and the rundown condition of the property. There was a CCTV camera installed in the communal kitchen that actively moved and followed me while I was in there. This was clearly not passive security — it felt like I was being watched in real time. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe. No signage or notice was posted about this level of monitoring. CCTV in shared areas should be for safety, not to track and spy on guests. I'm assuming all cameras do the same but this was the only one I saw actively monitoring me. The room decor was tired, dark, and depressing, with worn-out furnishings and poor lighting. The kitchen was old and outdated, with mismatched appliances and a generally grimy feel. The communal bathroom and showers were run-down and unclean, with poor water pressure and aging fixtures. The air conditioning unit was extremely noisy, keeping me awake at night despite the heat. The TV outdates and only had limitrd & unclear analogue channels, accompanied by constant static and crackling sounds The water dispenser was never refilled or changed, making it feel more like a neglected hostel than a functioning Between the shocking invasion of privacy and the poor condition of the property, this was one of the worst accommodation experiences I've ever had. I’ve reported the surveillance issue to Booking.com and may follow up with local authorities. I strongly urge other travelers to avoid this place entirely.

They have the possibility to order breakfast, but during our stay it wasn’t available on all the days. We had 5 cockroaches in our 3 nights stay. The guy from the staff was amazing to remove them and help us directly, but still it wasn’t nice.

• Glen (9/5): Good value for money - Spacious apartment, quiet place, silent A.C. Well equipped kitchen, spacious, modernised bathroom with hot water. NO insects, windows with functional mosquito nets. Decent size smart tv with Netflix subscription. Queen bed with mattress that most guests will find comfortable but somewhat too firm for my back. Bunk bed for our teenager. But they had a 60cm wide and 30mm thick firm foam, the type that can be folded in 3 pieces which they gave me and which worked wonders for my back. ALL accomodations should have these availablento avoid comments about too firm mattresses which is so common in asia. Separate private eating/dining room with spacious table and 6 chairs. We extended stay for 2 more days. Perfect for families or couples who do not need to revisit nightlife location in the evening. We had a taxiride to Osmenia peak and KaWasan falls, from 9am to 4p.m and paid 3000php, for the 3 of us. Some minor entrance fees excluded. 5 minutes walk to supermarket and a 15 minutes tricycle ride to 'sardine run' site which we enjoyed or somewhat more to 'white beach' were we swam an hour with a monster green turtle of 1,5mtr estimated 500kg. It was totally unafraid and ate grass as we watched and filmed it, even up close without touching it. Difficult to find. Could possibly have been a curtain in shower to limit water spill on floor.

Storage space, a table and 2 chairs, etc. AC and shower worked very well! Staff was helpful and friendly, breakfast was great, water available outside. Laundry service was very good. Bathroom was private but outside of the room, on a bit of an unusual set up but it’s not exactly a complaint! Hotel location is away from the main centre of town with bars and restaurants - 15min drive, and about 60min walk.

He showed me the room and where the shower and toilets were and at first sight it looked okay, then he left, I went back to the room and then I noticed mouse shit on the bed, I went out looking for that guy but didn’t find him anywhere probably gone back to sleep. The room looked clean except for under the bed, I did take pictures of the shit and under the bed. Well I picked this hotel because of good ratings. Well I thought it was toilet and shower in the room but I must har mistaken that. The check out went quick so nothing to comment here

Another description of a room yet when you get there it's windowless and really uninspiring. It's too far away from all the tourist businesses, restaurants and bars. Taking a motorbike along flooded roads going to and from the tourist area/beachfront with deep potholes was frightening. There's nothing around the residence apart from a supermarket mall.

There’s a common kitchen too! Something that other properties in the area don’t offer to guests. This property is too far from the beach but if you’re into peace and quiet this is perfect. Their blankets are too thin but it’ll do.

The location is a-bit far from the beach and the tourist area, so you need to drive there. But there was so many toktok drivers to take us in any hour.

• Jan (9/5): Quiet location, very clean, close to main road - Nice staff, helpful to provide more information, clean bathroom and quiet place with outside sitting, free water and coffee, fridge in the room, good a/c and fan Possibilities to eat and shop are close, close to main road and bus stop to Cebu/Batu. provided canyoneering activity is for a good price and was super the deposit is a bit strange but after reading some reviews it's understandable. For someone it could be a bit further to the seafront or a beach (need to take a tricycle).

• Lauren (10/5): clean, comfortable and friendly - only a 10-15 minute drive from white beach or Panagsama beach - hired a bike from the hotel for a good price to get there but also had tuktuk outside! rooms were clean and spacious, shared toilets were really clean too. free drinking water and kitchen facilities too!! staff were so friendly and so helpful. thank you!!

• Yana (9/5): Superb - Very nice, clean and spacious room. Perfect private bathroom. Friendly staff. The ability to pay ahead via booking.com. The deposit on checkin was a strange thing to ask for. But it might be some cultural differences, that I do not understand.

• Darren (5/5): Acceptable - Acceptably clean, close to shops, mall etc. Good breakfast. Well priced. Cheap and cheerful stay for a short visit to the area. It is located quite far from Moalboal, requiring a tuktuk. The room had no windows, with little ventilation meaning there was a bit of a damp, musty smell at all times. Only one nice shared toilet per male and per female with adjoining shower.
• Rabih84 (9/5): Superb - Spotless clean, very quiet neighbourhood, and the small front yard was lovely to chill. The fridge came in very handy. Small things but it doesnt impact your stay. The dog in the backyard was barking at night. Also, you need to walk few minutes to the nearest restaurant or 7-eleven. Wifi wasn't very reliable.

• Andreas (7/5): Good - Super lovely owner and staff. They helped us with everything and answered all our questions. Thank you! Shower had no pressure, it was easier to use the bucket. There a was not even a window in the room. Only one that hat a "view" to the corridor.

• Adam (10/5): Exceptional - The staff even helped me with getting a laundry, I'm indebted to them. The facilities in the room are excellent (fridge, water heater). The bathroom (+ shower) looked fabulous and it was always clean. Nothing at all. It was a lovely stay there.
• John (8/5): Very good - The place is nice with a small kitchen and a place to have dinner or breakfast on bamboo tables with fans. The bathrooms are really good. You need a scooter to go to the different beaches, we found one in town at 5/10 mins walk down the main road.
