• Simon (9/5): - War hier nur für eine Nacht und habe mich nicht viel im Hostel aufgehalten, aber es hat alles reibungslos geklappt. Hostel ist ruhig, angenehm und sauber. Betten haben keine Vorhänge. Ist natürlich Geschmackssache und war auch kein Problem, da die Leute dort sehr entspannt sind.

Ducha con agua caliente y buena calidad de agua. Hostel tranquilo y ambiente respetuoso. Me gustó todo! De hecho había reservado por 2 noches y me terminé quedando una semana!

• ジョー (6/5): - スタッフが僕達ゲストに気を使ってくれました。ローカル、そして名の通り歴史を感じ取る事が出来る環境でした。 僕は翌朝の飛行機が早めだったのでココを利用しました。ただ、空港が近いと言う事は飛行機の音もよく聞こえるんですよね。 そして近いと思った空港の入口は別の方向だった事が後で分かりました。宿に非がある訳ではないのですが、空港迄は旧市内に泊まるのと同じ距離感でした。

Has activities like a ping pong table and piano You can’t eat food in the rooms which is a little inconvenient. There is also a market across the small alley which can be loud if your room is on that side of the building
• Senna (7/5): Een prima verblijf! - Ik vond de uitstraling van het hostel fantastisch. Ook de kerstmuziek die van ‘s ochtends vroeg tot in de avond gedraaid werd, deed me realiseren dat het toch echt bijna kerst is! Tijdens het boeken viel het mij wel al op, maar het matras van de privekamers ligt op de grond. Dit is na een lange dag leuke dingen doen niet heel praktisch. Ook zijn er geen oppervlaktes waar je je tas/koffer/spullen op kan neerleggen dus hierdoor lag alles op de grond. Vond ik persoonlijk niet heel fijn.
• Tovah (10/5): - I stayed in Chiang Mai for a total of two months and my stay at Thunderbird was my favorite out of all accommodations. My friend and I extended our stay there several times over the course of a month and were excited to return after a hiatus to Pai. This is a quieter, more chill hostel which we appreciated and we particularly liked the tables and common spaces. We stayed in both the 6 & 4-person mixed dorms and had no issues and felt very safe as two young women. There is always someone working both day and night if you need assistance or have any questions. The bathrooms and common areas were kept clean, the rooms had working AC, and the beds were quite comfortable. Thunderbird is located in a fantastic area in Old City. It’s adjacent to a market, restaurants, coffee shops, 7-Elevens, and a 5 minute walk to the Tha Phae Gate where the Sunday night market is. The women who run this hostel are extremely kind, attentive, and hardworking. I will definitely be returning here next fall. Kap khun ka!!

• Lara (10/5): 11/10 stay at a very special Hostel - The staff are incredible, they are so attentive, very helpful and kind. I felt safe and comfortable and knew they would always help with any issues or problems, questions or recommendations. They really take care of their guests wanting to make sure you have a good time. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was incredibly comfortable, I had the best sleep here. You have AC inside the rooms and fans outside in the common areas. There’s a table tennis table to play and a big terrace up top where you have amazing sunny views over the city. The location is right in the heart of the old town close to cafes, markets and shops. It’s beautifully decorated and has special design pieces. I absolutely loved my stay there and would love to come back anytime!

• Yuchen (9/5): Simply enjoy the stay. - I stayed two nights only meet one customer! All the environment is like you see in the photo, as clean as the best quality hotel in town Thailand! If you were like me travel almost too much, trying to avoid crowds after noisy daytime, trying to avoid drunk or smelly tourists, staying here is your option. Nothing I can complain.

• Cartoon Ct (10/5): STAY!!!! - The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming! She even told me I could come back anytime to take a shower if I needed, which made me feel so comfortable and cared for. That kind of hospitality is rare and really made my stay memorable. The location is also excellent everything you need is close by. The night market and nightlife are just a 10–15 minute walk away, so it’s easy to enjoy the city without needing transport. Overall, I felt very well taken care of and would love to come back again :) nothing

• Sean (10/5): Cool hostel, with a nice comfortable vibe. - When I saw the piano in the pictures, the choice of hostel was clear for me (I like playing). The hostel has a cool vibe to it, with very tidy bedrooms, lounge area and clean bathrooms. I felt very comfortable during my stay here, also because the staff was so friendly. There’s also a rooftop area to chill at with a nice view of the surroundings. During off-season it was empty (can be + or -), however I did make one friend.

Great location and staff very friendly and helpful I was facing the road side in the 4beds dormroom, and it could get very loud at night with tourists partying, but a pair of airpods did the trick! Also staff was very happy for me to change room if I wanted. Beds not too comfortable for me - it is too hard, but most people like it this way. Overall I would totally stay here again

• Jennifer (8/5): Beautiful space with a great location that could use more community engagement. - The hostel design was very aesthetic, and the location incredible - easy to walk to all kinds of places in Chiang Mai. Check-in and check-out was easy. The room and shared bathroom were very clean. The shared bathroom was usually out of toilet paper, and the overall hostel environment felt abandoned. We would have loved more of a community feel and the communal spaces being used and/or any community events. Also, we found the room AC to be incredibly effective to the point that it was irritating our throats.

The neighborhood around Thunderbird has to be the best in old town Chiang Mai and why would anyone stay anywhere else in this beautiful city. Even the beds are comfortable, which is kind of rare for Thailand. I really liked this hostel as did all the other guests I talked to Nice place for sure

A short walk to explore the city. The staff is friendly and provides excellent recommendations for tourist attractions. Recommended for young adults. Elderly guests might not enjoy it due to the stairs.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always going the extra mile to make sure I had a great time. The common areas were clean and inviting, perfect for meeting other travelers. My dorm room was cozy and had everything I needed. The hostel's location was also great, just a short walk from the night market and many other attractions. I would highly recommend Thunder Bird Hostel to solo travelers and backpackers looking for a fun and social atmosphere.
