• eamonmurray (10/5): Mozart Break - A return to the Mozart & despite a change of owners, we were again treated to a wonderful break while visiting family in the region. The hotel was not at all busy probably due to the early season stay. It has definetly been a more streamlined operation with less staff visible, but the high standards have continued to be both efficient & welcoming. Our room with Lake view was again suffice for our requirements, serviced daily on request. A bus/train pass was issued free for the local area which was an unexpected bonus. Location is ideal right in center of town so lake walks, shops, supermarkets & resturant/bars on your doorstep. We do hope to stay at the Mozart on our next Switzerland visit.
• Michael (4/5): Der vergilbte Charme der 1970er Jahre - In Rorschach ist die Welt in den 1970er Jahren stehengeblieben. Die Häuser haben schmutzige Fassaden. Viele Geschäfte haben aufgegeben. Alte Limousinen vergilbter Premiumhersteller schleichen durch den dort. Hier passt genau dieses Hotel. Das Bad ist eine Nasszelle aus 1972 - aus verblasstem ehemals gelbgrünlichem Kunststoff in der Farbe verblichenem Kamillentees, aus der Generation „Plaste und Elaste“. Der Mini Duschkopf war verkalkt und die wenigen Wasserstrahlen stechen durch die Kalkkruste wie Nadeln. Der Ablauf des Waschbeckens funktionierte nicht und war verstopft. Der Einstieg in die Badewanne - wer um alles in der Welt badet hier? War gefühlt meterhoch. Der Preis in Euro ist enorm und wäre in Deutschland keines Falls mehr durchsetzbar. No way! Am anderen Ende vom Bodensee gibt es dafür ein 4 oder 5 Sterne Haus. Bei uns zuhause hätte ich ca. 80% weniger bezahlt dafür. Das Haus steht genau am Bahngleis - Fenster unbedingt geschlossen halten. Lang lebe die Schweiz und ihr Binnenmarkt und die stoische Abgewandtheit der Schweizer vom Rest der Welt. In Rohrschach spürt man deutlich: den Schweizern ist der Rest der Welt relativ Wurscht solange der wahnsinnig überteuerte Binnenmarkt immer weiter und weiter und weiter funktioniert, lässt sich ein solch veraltetes Hotel noch prächtig zu Geld machen. Wir kommen nicht wieder!
• eamonmurray (8/5): Return to the Mozart Rorschach Switzerland 🇨🇭 - A return to the Mozart was probably as expected. Very little change in the decor etc since we last stayed 10 years ago. However despite the dated furnishings, decor,etc, it is totally in character will the location & design of the Mozart. A key to open & lock bedroom door, no aircon,& shower over bath were not ideal. The hotel was very clean & staff were helpful despite not all having good English. The continental breakfast was quite good with the usual offerings, this was elevated to a superior level on the Sunday, it was a complete transformation. It looked like a lot of locals had breakfast in the Mozart on Sunday. Our room had a panoramic view of lake Constance. A supplement was applicable for lake view. The Mozart in Rorschach Switzerland is in a wonderful location with shops, restaurants, lakeside walks on your doorstep. The cost for a 4 night stay was in my opinion rather expensive, but it is Switzerland in a prime location. A return is definitely likely. E.

• 574RichardD (6/5): Somewhat dated interior - Hotel seems interior seems somewhat dated. The room was comfortable though and the breakfast reasonably good. The front desk was helpful. I did not like very much the bicycle parking in the garage, open to all and with nothing to attach the bicycles to.
• Kildarecpl (8/5): Good value for money, dog friendly lakeshore property - We used this hotel as a pit-stop on a recent European road trip. It's a dated hotel but right on the lake, it's not the building you see in the pics right on the water, it's to the right of that one street back. In terms of location and value for money it's in line with other places in the area, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is very good. We had a small dog with us and he was more than welcome. Also a plus is the hotel has it's own underground car park for free, noting that there's only a stairs from the car park to the reception.
• Tanja (8/5): Bis auf die Angestellte im Restaurant - perfekt - Die Angestellte im Restaurant hatte wohl einen sehr schlechten Tag. Sehr launisch und schnippisch. Ansonsten alles perfekt.
• Snowbunnie5 (4/5): Tired & dated - This place is tired & dated. I stayed here as part of a bike trip around Lake Constance so the hotel was booked for me, and this just didn’t compare to the other hotels we stayed at. I think the vibe is intended to be retro, but it just seemed dated, 1980’s. It was very clean, I’ll give them that. But you could have filmed scary movies here…that’s the vibe. Complete with a physical key to the room, not an electronic card. The bathroom is an 80’s tub but without a full shower door so water got all over the floor. There was good water pressure but I’d be worried about old people getting in and out of the shower without injuring themselves. Breakfast was ok, but not as fresh or as much variety as other places we stayed on the trip. It’s RIGHT on the train line and it was loud even while wearing ear plugs to sleep. I would recommend skipping this place.
• Takeiteasytheworld (8/5): Comfortable, quirky charm. - This hotel was comfortable and clean. It is old style from maybe the 80s. We had a room overlooking the lake. It was beside a small railway line but even with the window open noise did not annoy us. Being in the middle of town and near the lake made it a very pleasant stay. The breakfast room offered a good range of food with good service.

• Loubreak (8/5): quirky - Unusual. The hotel is in a particular style. The rooms are very clean and comfortable but are tired and it’s probably time for an update. Very 1980. The hotel is on the railway line but it wasn’t that bad and we slept through ok. We couldn’t find much else open around the area so we ate at the hotel in the evening. There were no tables in the restaurant as it was already busy so we kind of sat in an open foyer area which was a bit strange. The young girl who seemed to work the restaurant single handedly was just amazing. A lovely girl who was working like crazy hard to keep everyone happy. She is staff member of the year for hotel Mozart. In summary the hotel is unusual. Very quirky but friendly and clean and suited our needs of a good place to rest on the cycle route but next time we might try another.

Sehr guter Service sowohl beim Check-in als auch im Restaurant.
• Sactolizzy (8/5): Beautiful views, enjoyable snooze. - Many of the reviews here are helpful and accurate. We stayed in a lovely room overlooking the lake, which was a gorgeous view. The room was sparkling clean, soft and clean linens and an immaculate bathroom. This was our first day of a self-guided bike tour. The bikes were in the garage locked up and our luggage was transferred seamlessly to the next hotel. Breakfast was included and was the usual Euro-array of breads, fruit, meats and cheeses. Our room was RIGHT on the railroad tracks, which I actually did not find as bothersome as other travelers. I may have heard one train, but they were not all night as others have suggested. The hotel is conveniently located to everything - sights, groceries, train station, bike route. There was no air conditioning, which is well established in the reviews, so we expected it. We had an enormous rainstorm come through that night which provided some relief. Although I understand the hotel cannot add air conditioning because it is historic, I definitely could see having a fan in the room as we have seen in many other historic hotels on our trip. Overall, I would definitely recommend and would enjoy another stay at this hotel.

• Sue-Wayne25 (6/5): Good fomorning cyclists - We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our cycling trip across Switzerland. It’s “cycling friendly” - undercover storage for bikes, and a room that’s equipped with everything you need to service and minor repairs for your bike. The hotel is right on the lake and next to the cycling path that goes around the lake. The hotel is “old world” themed and whilst it looks quite plain from the outside it’s quite charming inside. The ladies on the front desk were super helpful when we had any questions. Breakfast was a good range of cheese, meat, fruit and breads - and nice coffee. There is a mini bar in the room - handy if you need to refrigerate anything. Our room on the 2nd floor got very hot in the afternoon and there is no AC (and the weather was very warm when we were there). The room was still hot over night, and with the windows open it sounded like the trains were coming right through our room. The heat/noise took the edge off what is otherwise a very good hotel.
• theodore (10/5): Welcoming hotel with friendly service. Delightful - We enjoyed our stay for two nights. Hotel is close to promenade along Boden See. Hotel Mozart Cafe had very nice choice of meals and lovely bright atmosphere. It seemed as though local residents chose it also.
• Sasaazuu (10/5): Perfect stay - The hotel is just at the lake and so you have the chance to see beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The room was clean and big! My personal highlight was the excellent food (diner and breakfast). The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Really recommend this hotel!

• Natianan (8/5): Perfect location - Perfect location with parking underneath the hotel. The breakfast was very good and the front desk people were very friendly and nice. The room was comfortable and very clean but yes a bit dated. Minibar was well stocked. Across the street from the bike bath and train station. The negative: There was no air conditioning so it can get a little hot and muggy in the room. Train noise can be a bit loud if you are not used to it and have windows open.
• Rowanch (8/5): Good Location on Waterfront close to cycleway - While the hotel is a little tired and not attractive from the outside staff were excellent and the dining facilities were fine. We had a room right on the railway line but was well sound proofed and this did not cause us any issues. Good basement storage for bikes and the hotel is right on the cycleway.
• WildExp (8/5): Great Staff! - Great location with a great front desk person who was so enthusiastic to assist us. She was kind enough to speak to us in English as we don't speak German. Room was average, as the Hotel does need a refurb. Staff make up with the level of service they offer. We had a side room that didn't offer much of a view. Amenities were average. Dinner was good, breakfast was average as compared to the other included breakfasts that we had at other hotels in Switzerland. Front desk person recommended taking a train (ticket was included in out tourist tax) to St Gallen which was a nice town, but everything was closed on a Sunday. Was interesting walking around though. Free wifi and has garage for bicycle parking.

• 194jayd (8/5): Great spot, easy access to Bahnof - This was a great hotel with many fine features. There was a lovely garden dining area as well as a second dining are near the front. The room was very nice with a great view of the Bodensee. We came with bikes and they had adequate storage both in the garage and a storage room. We enjoyed a very nice dinner and breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A bit expensive, but it is Switzerland!
• 247AmandaM (4/5): Charge for tap water in restaurant at 2euro 50cents a glass - The hotel is situated right on the train line and trains run all night. The hotel is clean but very unattractive from the outside. Staff were diligent but brusque. We had beer, milkshake, soup and sausage/ potato salad dish in the restsurant. Food was very ordinary but they charged us 5 euro extra for 2 glasses of tap water, which we consider ridiculous given that we could have had ' free ' water in our room from the tap. Would not recommend this hotel or this town to stay in.
• ALutz324 (8/5): Nice Cafe - Nice little cafe to meet friends for a coffee or drink. We go here every couple of months and enjoy it. Staff is friendly and drinks are good. Located directly in the city of Rorschach so it is easy to get to and right next to the lake.
• ralph376 (6/5): Cosy place by the lake - The place is old but still charming. Very pleasant terasse with a view to the Bodensee. The cuisine in the restaurant is quite nice. Standard is not 5 stars but still worthwhile. We enjoyed a lot the location which offers access to the waterfront. The railway next to the hotel is not too disturbing.
• lovetotravel007_7 (4/5): Tired and noisy hotel, made up a little by a charming team - On a cycle holiday around Lake Constance, our advice would be keep going and don't stay in Rorschach at all. As it was summer and hotel doesn't have air conditioning we had the windows open, but unfortunately as the hotel is literally next to busy railway track it felt like we slept on the platform. Tired decor, but clean. Friendly staff
• bp62trip (8/5): Classic hotel - Normal hotel, in centrum of city, with complicated, access to garage with good signs. Standard clean room. Garage is under hotel. Important is staff, helpful, friendly. What we appreciatedd late evening with restaurant, tasty meal. Wifi worked without trouble. Shower clean. I fully recommend this hotel
