- Nicola (6/5): Excellent views and near 9-arch bridge but basic facilities. - The staff were friendly and very helpful and easy to contact on whatsapp. We were a group of 6 friends and had two bookings. One of the apartments was more modern and nicer (with air con) compared to the 3 -bed apartment. The views were stunning and the location was great for accessing the 9-arch bridge but a bit further from the main town but easily accessible by tuk tuk. The facilities were basic but spacious. The bathrooms were very moldy and did not have any ventilation. lots of holes in the mosquito nets in the bedrooms. No air con in the downstairs 3-bed apartment. The beds were not very comfy.

- Christel (7/5): Fijne gastheer en lekker ontbijt. Lion Rock op wandelafstand. - De locatie is gelegen met de Lion Rock in de tuin. Er is 1 boomhut kamer voorzien waar je vanuit je kamer de Lion Rock helemaal kan bewonderen. De gastheer was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam en voorziet een lekker Sri Lankaans ontbijt in een sobere keuken. Zeker de moeite om bij in de tuin van Sri Lankanen ontvangen te worden. Lion Rock en restaurantjes op wandelafstand. De kamer had geen frisse geur, door een probleem met de afloop.
- 淳 (9/5): オーナーUGに会いに行くヴィラ - 予定外に深夜の到着となってしまったがオーナーのUGが親切に対応してくれて助かった。近くのレストランまで無料でトゥクトゥクで連れて行ってくれて一緒に食事を楽しんだ。 翌朝もシギリヤに登ってから朝食のアレンジを頼んであり、色々と融通を利かせてくれた。 ロケーションも良くシギリヤ登頂には最適、是非ともまた利用したい。今度は空港からの送迎や観光名所案内もお願いしたい。オーナーの人柄だけでも満足な宿。 設備や衛生面は必要最低限。値段を考慮すれば及第点だが気になる人は難しいかも。

The rooms are clean, comfortable and great value for money given the location. UG was an amazing host and always went out his way for us. He organised a safari tour and a day trip to Polonnaruwa for us and cooked the best breakfast we had in our whole Sri Lanka trip!

- White (6/5): Not what I would call a chalet. All rooms are entirely separate. - Beautiful view at breakfast. We thought we were ordering a 3 bedroom chalet for our family. I had understood this to be 1 cottage with 3 rooms but it was a row of separate rooms - each that you had to go outside for to access the next room.

- Danielle (6/5): - Located in a more rural part of the area - it’s beautiful with surrounding nature and farm land. The hosts are extremely sweet and lovely with two lovely dogs and I felt safe being there travelling alone. This is not located near the restaurants, shops or main places to visit, so you cannot walk anywhere or easily pick up transport. Probably more an issue with me needing to be better asking in honesty, but I moved to Sirigiya village the last night of my stay because I wanted to be able to get breakfast and dinner, plus be around more people. Sirigiya village was great for restaurants/cafes and other amenities, whilst still being quiet and surrounded by nature.
- O491CUjasons (6/5): Ok at best - This is not a resort, when I arrived young girl practically ignored me, then pointed to a book to fill out and just walked away without telling me room number, facilities or any info. Room very good size and great working aircon, in bathroom no hot water or couldn’t figure out how to use the thing, either way had to take a cold shower. Next day when leaving was told about the lookout to rock fortress at back of property, very nice views, something that you would think the girl would be selling on arrival as a plus to staying in venue!

- Paul (8/5): Great value and an authentic experience - The family running this guesthouse are the most wonderful people! We felt truly welcome and the owner could not have done more for us. He offered to pick us up from the bus stop and came to get us in his tuktuk after we climbed Pidurangala Rock. In the morning, we had a delicious and traditional homemade Sri Lankan breakfast with the perfect view of Lion Rock. Walking distance from the entrance to Sigirya - this is a wonderful place to stay for those on a budget and looking for an authentic Sri Lankan experience. We had a room without AC (our fault, that's what we booked!). Needed windows open at night so really needed mosquito net to do it's job but there were several holes...

The accommodation is not in the center of Sigiriya so you need a tuktuk to get to and from there. The accommodation is walking distance to Sigiriya rock, with a great view of it too!

We stayed in the treehouse which was lovely and quiet with nice view. The dining area is away from the other building and has a nice view of the Rock. A great place to stay if you want to walk to the Rock. The wifi was not very good when we were there.

Jud, the owner have been so welcoming and friendly. As it was our first days in Sri Lanka, we had a plenty questions which he answered for us. If anyone looking for a stay in Sigiriya, don't go any further and book this Resort. You are not going to be disappointed. Highly recommend.💞 Nothing!!

- Billy (9/5): Very beautiful and friendly place to stay before tackling the Lion's rock of Sigiriya - The location is very special with a view to the Lion's rock of Sigiriya. We took 3 rooms by the beautiful garden. Unfortunately only two of them had A/C and were recently refurbished which was a great added value. The owners speak English, they are very adorable, friendly and helping. We were very happy and thankful to exchange with you and get help for driving from place to place. The service is impeccable and we will never forget it. Only for those who had the non A/C room, it was unfortunately quite rustic while the temperature at night can still be high. Since we only stayed for one night it was ok

The rooms were nice and clean and the view on the lion rock from the garden is beautiful, but what really made our experience great in Sigiriya were the host and his family. He offered his tuktuk to drive us around and arranged an amazing lunch and breakfast. In general he was very helpful! We are very grateful to have stayed here and would recommend it to everyone!

- Frédéric (6/5): Back to basics and close to nature! - The close location to the Sigiriya attraction was the main reason we selected this place. The word „resort“ has a broad spectrum of meanings. In this case I would narrow it down to 1 treehut and 2-3 comfortable rooms. Dining a simple dish/ and having a breakfast in the beauty of nature is truly an experience. The owner helped us in finding a great taxiride to Negombo after our stay. The mosquito net around the bed appeared having small punctures, allowing the small mosquitoes to enjoy my legs as a fine dine experience. Inloved the concept of the treehut, though.

Overall the location of the place is 30 min away from village Sigriya and a ton lot mosquitoes. Not recommended.
- Rachel (10/5): Wonderful stay with friendly family - UG.and his family are so lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. We had delicious food every evening and he helped plan trips (including elephant safari where we saw loads of elephants). The setting is really great and you can see the rock from the garden. The rooms are clean and well presented. In all the whole stay was a wonderful experience where you really feel part of Sri Lankan life. Definitely visit! Nothing

- Robert (10/5): Great Host, great location - UG and his family are amazing hosts, they cannot do enough for you , we had dinner there 2 nights , first night was fried rice , next night a curry feast.UG has a tuk tuk and we had him drive us to our next stay, he’s a steady driver. The stay is walking distance to the entrance of Lion Rock. UG organised a local safari driver and we saw over 25 elephants close up in the local reserve, it cost $65 for 2 and we had the truck to ourselves. The accommodation is home stay level and has a fan and hot shower. The breakfast is pancakes and roti and fruit, in the evening UG sat we us and told us so much about Sri Lanka and it’s culture and social issues. A great host who is a kind considerate man. I would definitely recommend the place and stay there again Nothing

- Michela (9/5): Superb - We had an wonderful experience! If you like being surrounded by nature with a wonderful view of Lion’s Rock…this is definitely the place! The host is super nice, he picked us up from the bus stop and he arranged a tuk tuk for the early morning after to drop us at the entrance of Pidurangala. The food was delicious, cooked with the vegetable and fruits from the garden. During the day the room can be quite humid but at night we managed to sleep with the windows open and the fan. Totally recommended if you want to spend 1 or 2 night around Sigiriya area!! :)

The food he and his wife cooked was amazing and he always made sure that I had everything I needed, provided transportation and even took me to a family gathering one night - I‘d come back anytime!

I ve got tree house for additional payment and there is shale beside with spectacular view in Sigiriya mountain. Bed was with good mattress. He took me and showed the places beside and next day also. Very kind, easy going family with wonderful childrens. I was happy.
- Zaida (8/5): Totally recommended! It’s a place you are in peace. - The family owning the guest house were wonderful! Really nice people, they helped us with everything we needed. They even lent us their own bikes to go for a ride! The location is perfect, in the middle of the jungle and just 15 minuts away by walk from Lion’s Rock entrance, and 35 minuts away by walk from Pidurungana entrance. Breakfast was delicious! The room was really humid but we could sleep well thanks to the air conditioner. The hot water wasn’t working in our room, but they show us another room to shower.

They put me in the treehouse room, which at first I was a bit sceptical about but I ended up loving it as one of the most memorable parts of my trip. Right in the middle of the forest, around a 20 minute walk from Sigirya and Pidurangala rocks, very common to see elephants and deer walking around freely. Sri Lankan breakfast included as well was delicious and everything homemade! Would highly recommend for visits to see the two main rocks and a place to stay.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - I am now very pleased to review this guesthouse. From any place you travel from to reach Sigirîya, you'll have to spend some time on dusty roads for the town, which exists only thanks to the continuous pilmgrimage of worldwide tourists, is kind of remote. At the scale of Sri Lanka at least. You'll find yourself on bumpy ways, navigate through deep tropical 'jungles', avoid elephants ready to jump on your face while hiding on the sides of the road when it's dark (yes particularly in this area !). So when you'll eventually arrive, all you want is to find a safe, welcoming and quiet place to reinvigorate yourself. That's exactly what this guesthouse is going to offer you! After your hard day, you'll just reach an oasis of calm plenty of beautiful paradisiacal flowers, elegant bungalow-like rooms, one of them in the garden being the main attraction of the house (see the picture). The owner is a dedicated person who will do literally everything to bring you comfort. Since he also grows rice and some vegetables in his garden, it is not totally impossible that elephants will come to... eat the rice (or try at least). Which is rather rare to be honest. However, they will be kept away with crackers and locals' fury. Nights, in Sigirîya in general, are picturesque for sure: Dogs suddenly scream, crackers boom all around, villagers switch their torches on at a distance to the point, you'll certainly ask yourself in the safety of your room: "Was there an elephant nearby tonight?"

The family are so kind and helpful, and they made sure we saw as much as possible, arranging tours with an awesome taxi driver who took us everywhere around Sri Lanka and helped us get to Mirissa. The breakfast is amazing here with delicious, fresh homegrown good. They do so much to help you enjoy your stay and it is like heaven, with amazing views and a wonderful treehouse. We hope many guests will come and enjoy this wonderful place in future. Best wishes!

- Sudesh8180 (8/5): Great place to stay - I stayed here for 1 night and it was one of the great place to stay in Sigiriya. I really enjoyed my stay here. The owner and his wife were lovely and always ready to make your stay comfortable and memorable. The rooms are better then basic with all the modern amenities. There is small lane from back side of the rooms which leads you to a garden (1 min. walk) and you will get a best view of the Sigiriya rock. The food is home cooked and really tasty. Be it chicken or an egg preparation, the food is very tasty. They welcomed me with a glass of chilled homemade lemonade. The breakfast was also sumptuous and very tasty. The 1 night stay + breakfast costed me around US$ 25 which I felt was worth it. The Sigiriya rock is about 15 - 20 mins walk but make sure you give adequate time for yourself to climb and return as it becomes difficult once it gets dark. Make sure to carry a torch and a mosquito repellent cream.

Han var så behjelpelig med alt, lagde mat til oss, lånte bort sykler, forklarte veien til Lion Rock og Pidurangala Rock, smilte masse og hadde mye interessant å fortelle om Sri Lanka og nærområdet. I hagen hans var det et trehus med utsikt til begge høydene som vi fikk være i. Vi fikk servert fersk frukt fra hagen hans og hjemmelaget fersk appelsinjuice. Stedet lå i perfekt og nær avstand til høydene, i et kjempefint tropisk område. Vi kunne rett og slett ikke hatt det bedre, og anbefaler stedet til alle!
- petercrawley (10/5): Just like staying with a family friend! - A tranquil location close to Sigiriya Rock (can see from the garden) this absolutely lovely family 3 room hotel was more like visiting a dear family member. The most friendly helpful welcoming first class customer focused mini hotel set in a rural Eden. Comfortable clean quiet accommodation supported by great personal service from the owners and their delightful children. One has to ask (the norm in Sri Lanka) for a hand towel, bath mat or hair drier, which are promptly provided. The bed was really comfortable, with mozzie net and soft pillows. The food was a glorious delight all home cooked perfectly and plentiful with just the right level of SL spice asked for and served romantically on our veranda by our ever attentive host. Breakfast in the garden was equally as fresh, delicious and copious. For something special ask to stay in the new tree house villa. Wish we could have stayed here with this wonderful family much longer.
