• Ellaynna (8/5): Overall this hotel was a great choice, and I can understand why it is always booked! - I enjoyed the location as my daughter is a current student with CSU Monterey Bay. Upon my arrival, the staff was very friendly and engaged in conversation. The location was clean, the free breakfast was delicious and my children loved the outdoor fire pit! I didnt like the limited seating for the breakfast in the morning. Also, I wish it was extended a little longer to reduce the congestion we experienced.

It is also conveniently close to a big shopping center, which is literally a block away. It’s nice that it’s close to that to have other options to eat and to shop.
• Kristin (6/5): - We were very impressed with the lobby, the amenities, like a mini grocery store, complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, and water. The lobby was inviting, and the outdoor space had firepits and lounge seats. The problem was in our room. The beds are ROCK hard and made sleeping very uncomfortable. Our shower leaked and our tv had been disconnected. These issues we didn't discover until after 10PM. When I mentioned all of this to the front desk the next morning, I was told it would be noted. When I spoke to management via email, I was assured my experience would be addressed to make future stays more enjoyable. I felt a reasonable response would be a discount on our current stay or a voucher for future stays.

• CATHY (10/5): Great place to stay - Joann and the young gentleman with curly hair were very nice and helpful. Definitely enjoyed our stay here. Loved that the hotel was close to the Dunes State Park. The continental breakfast was the best I had ever had. Other hotels we have been to were just okay. Their rooftop lounge was nice too. And they have a shopping area across the street if you forget or need things from clothes to grocery and food. I would avoid the Brass Tap restaurant. They weren’t good.

• gailmendiola (2/5): Unprofessional and Discriminatory Check-In Experience - We are Hilton Honors members and had been looking forward to our stay, but the check-in process completely soured our experience. The front desk agent, Jamie, told us she couldn’t release our room due to a “system issue” and that she needed to make a phone call. Instead, she walked away with her cellphone to the back for several minutes. From the start, she avoided eye contact and was noticeably disengaged. While we waited, another couple arrived. Jamie asked my husband if she could check them in before us, despite the fact that we had already been waiting. This was both unprofessional and baffling, especially given her overall dismissive attitude toward our family. Unfortunately, the interaction left us feeling unwelcome and questioning whether bias played a role in how we were treated. To make matters worse, we were overcharged despite being Hilton members. The one bright spot was at checkout, when Debra Anne assisted us. She was kind, professional, and patient—exactly the type of service we expect from Hilton. This was an upsetting experience, and I hope management addresses both the unprofessional behavior and the overcharge so no other guest has to go through this.
• Cathy (6/5): - The property was close to shopping and food. There were ants in the room. Staff did respond in a period of time and sprayed with raid. The ants returned over night. This is not acceptable for a hotel. I will not choose to stay here in the future.

• Denice (10/5): Great Accommodations - It was great having breakfast every morning with a variety of choices. We had a reunion of five families, so it was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable! Would have liked more than one extra blanket available since there were two beds.

• Lee (8/5): - Liked the modern look of the hotel. Breakfast (included) was a bit basic, limited choice or daily variety served on paper plates and limited seating. Room was nice, lovely beds but did have issues sich as low water pressure and no housekeeping. We had to take our own rubbish out. By the 3rd day beds were finally made. Had to ask at reception for soap. Staff quiet young and apathetic style. Overall, enjoyed the stay but couldn’t help feel overpriced at >400 USD inclusive of taxes, given the below par service levels and location. Actually paid less in San Fran plus an extra night with all services we needed and expected!

• yyyyLafayette_CO (6/5): Recommend hotel but hotel program Bonvoy is broken - This is a clean mid-tier hotel near a beach and shopping center and not that far from the Monterey Penninsula. The staff and manager went to great lengths to help me with a problem trying to use two Bonvoy free stay certificates. I would recommend this hotel based on their 5 star effort, but would warn people what a bad program and very bad IT Bonvoy has. So maybe 3 1/2 stars for the hotel itself, 5 stars for the front desk and maybe -1 for Bonvoy.

• Souher (2/5): - The front desk staff member who identified herself as the manager was extremely rude, they did not give me the room I booked and when I asked for a different room she said they were sold out and when I asked for other solutions she threatened to kick me out of the hotel. I later checked the hotel availability on Expedia for the same night and they had two rooms available, I don’t understand why she had to lie and why she was so quick to threaten to kick out a family of 5. As a 39 year old frequent traveler who has stayed at many Marriott hotels all over the world this was the worst treatment I have ever received. The room itself had a very dirty sofa bed that my 15 year old was grossed out to sleep in.

• Siddhartha (4/5): - I visited this property for a vacation with my family with two toddlers and another friend's family. -- The design of rooms are very weird and non-standard. The bathroom is right between two beds. If anyone has to use the bathroom at night, bright light falls on everyone's eyes. -- The shower design is even more weird. The shower head is on the side where the door opens, but the shower knob is on the other side. One has to get a full blast of cold water, before any hot water arrives. -- The room cleaning procedure is the wierdest. In all my stays across the years in various Marriott hotels and chains, the standard procedure is to either remove the "DO not disturb" placard from the door handle outside or explicitly request housekeeping / front desk to not service the room. However, here to service the room we need to make explicit request ONLY at the front desk that too by 830am !!!! In spite of requesting for housekeeping and fresh towels with the front desk many times, nothing happened. -- The pool is indoor but the water is super saline. Eyes burn like crazy. Overall, I am NEVER staying at this property again. I would not recommend this property to anyone either.
• Patricia (8/5): Overall it was pleasant. The room was comfortable and I could not hear any noise. - Buffet was nice There were half drunk bottles of water in fridge. There was a Marriott courtyard card left on the floor of the room. There was a wet floor in the elevator.

• Tina (10/5): - This was our first time in Monterey Bay. This hotel has 2 beautiful outdoor sitting areas. The view from the rooftop was really pretty. The ocean view is nice but the hotel was a distance away. We were not at the hotel much so it didn’t really matter to us. It is close to the beach. Close to target which was nice because we did forget a few necessities. Our overall stay was great. Staff were always present, pleasant and helpful. There is a 24 hr coffee/tea bar in the lobby too. Very clean. Good continental breakfast.
• Jamie (6/5): - I want to start off by saying the positive things about my stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the property was clean and the amenities were good. There was breakfast available and it included hot breakfast, and everything was stocked well. There was a gym and pool and the hotel was conveniently located near shopping and food. I also appreciated that I couldn’t hear my neighbors so the walls are thick enough to sound proof. Now the negatives. I reserved a room for 5 (3 adults, 2 kids aged 12 and 8) and the room I got had two queen beds and a couch that turned into another queen sized bed. These beds were NOT queen sized. I have a queen at home. My husband and I both agreed it was more full sized. Also the blanket/sheets were so small that every time one of us moved in bed, the other got uncovered because of that. Even my two kids complained that the bed felt cramped. My dad stayed on the fold out couch and he said it was extremely uncomfortable. Also the room was very narrow, so not much room to walk around in. Also the bathroom had a sliding door that looked like it was about to fall off and the lock didn’t work. The room was clean with a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and toiletries so overall it was okay but a little more space would’ve been nice.

• Jeanette (4/5): - Property was nice but room smelled like weed. I notified staff and they sent someone to spray some air fresher. I was a little disappointed because I never have an issue with any Marriott properties. Rooftop heaters did not work.
• Oksana (4/5): - Extremely stinky indoor pool. Poor maintenance. A/c unit built next to bed makes it a huge inconvenience for some guests who end up sleeping next to a/c unit that ended up running non stop all night.

I’m not sure if it’s just how sleeping during the night but they’re comfortable when you first lay down but when you wake up, you might be in some pain and the pillows aren’t much of pillows. They remind me of airplane pillows just bigger and less padding
• Karen (10/5): A Fun and Enjoyable place to stay - Upon checking in, I presented a different credit card for my stay. Ann was very professional and the transaction was completed. She is a credit to your company. As a retired travel professional, I appreciate customer service. When I got to my room, I found that my American Express was charged for the entire amount-pending. I went back to the desk. She assured me it would not be charged, and when I completed my visit, it would be charged to my Visa. My trip is over, I am home and both credit cards are pending for the full amount. I called the Hotel and was sssured it would not progress pending. Fingers crossed. Otherwise, the staff was remarkable, the breakfast with fresh spinach & vegetables for omelettes, your outdoor areas, pool, and roof top were a real plus. Kim stood out for her pleasant and accommodating manner. We had a wonderful stay.

Location is great, about a 10 minute drive to Cannery Row. And it's right across the street from plenty of big box stores.
