- Debs (7/5): Practical, affordable & Perfect for our needs - The property was good clean & close to wedding venue, The Staff were excellent especially Sarah on Reception, Dinning & Bar, good value for money. Food Delicious. Shower was just a dribble and extremely low for me at 5ft 7 so imagine what my 6ft 3 husband felt like,

Rooms nice and clean Breakfast was lovely and staff very pleasant Rooms are becoming a bit tired. Shower head is too low am 5.9 and had to duck to get under. Shame that they closed the gym down

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The food (breakfast and dinner) was of a good standard. The only disappointing thing was the state of the windows on the ouside - very grubby

- pamela (1/5): Dreadful - how hard the lady receptionist/ waitress tried to make things better. I booked for 3 nights left after 2- i would have preferred to sleep in my car due to the smell it was like staying in a mausoleum. No atmosphere it felt like i was walking into an abandoned building very dated and in a time warp! the bedroom absolutely stank!!! Febreze is not the solution to dirty bed linen, i coughed all night! the evening menu was dull and boring, burnt fried food. Indian relish served as chilli jam for fishcakes?? I have stayed in many hotels with my job for20 years, and never felt it necessary to leave such a bad review but this has to be said as a waste of money, not cheap, awful food and smelly unhealthy bedrooms.

- The Smiley Paver's (8/5): Our honest review of our 2 night stay at Paddbrook Park Hotel. March 2026. - Friendly & helpful staff Hotel position, located exactly where we needed it to be. Free & plentiful car parking spaces, Inc disability parking spaces, which we required. Excellent breakfast options, freshly cooked & high quality produce along with continental breakfast options if required. Allocated smoking areas outside of the hotel building. Large room, large bathroom & very large comfortable double bed. Low amounts of coffee & tea options in room (if you travelling as a couple). No usb charging point in room, but plenty of electric sockets within the room. Building/Hotel has become slightly dated, especially for the 2 night price that we paid. These are minor points, but an honest review & we would return if we needed to stay in that area again, but would lookout for a slightly better price overall.

- Sonya (7/5): Only hotel in Collumpton - Convenience of the location. The breakfasts are very good and the staff friendly. The evening menu is not as good as it used to be. The place is always cold. It took until the following morning for our room to warm up, after putting the small electric heater on. The dining area is also very cold.

- Christine (7/5): Lovely family reunion with a great carvery meal, and lovely staff - Full cooked breakfast was ace and well worth the £14. The room was fine, bed comfortable, but very cold The bar area and the restaurant area were similarly cold, but it was the snowy weekend of Jan 4th (it was snowing outside, and the heater in the rooms had been put on, so mitigating circumstances) The carvery was great. The beef really pink and tender, tons of food at a very good price - didn't need a pud! The staff made the stay - they were all really friendly, helpful and accomodating ( allowed us to swop a breakfast from a room that couldn't use it due to unexpected early departure to another room in our party, and allowed us very early check in on arrival so we could get changed for dinner after a 3 hour journey) They put on the bar snack menu for us on a cold Sunday night when we were the only 6 staying in the property, and the night watchman was equally helpful, and was there at our departure to see us safely across the snowy car park. Great venue just off the motorway, central for our family post Xmas carvery, 6 cars from several different areas of Devon, Birmingham and Stoke. The website shows this hotel in its glory days, and we we arrived, we thought it was closed!It has been up for sale for some time we believe, and it was a bit "tired" The front door was stuck closed with the ice that morning, and we thought we could not get in as we were the only ones on the car park at 11am, but the lovely manageress came out across the snowy carpark to invite us in! The whole place was cold. They were obviously only warming it for our stay - and in that weather, it took some time for the heating to catch up! Our party and another 2 couples were the only customers for the carvery ( admittedly Jan 4th), so atmosphere a bit lacking, and it was very quiet when just 6 of us were staying overnight. Such a shame that a nice venue, in an ideal location is struggling. It is certainly NOT becuase of lack of effort, and you could not fault the staff or the food/drink. If it is still there next year, we will return - and hope others will visit them and support them.

- Karen (8/5): A return visit - The staff, as always, were welciming, friendly & heloful. Breakfast waa great! Poor lighting especially around the car park & outside areas which we struggled with. Decor is looking a little dated. Breakfast was lovely, well cooked & generous portions. We were the only 2 guests having breakfast on the morning of our stay as being out of season & a weeknight only 3 rooms were booked, but it didn't mean the staff skimped on putting out a full buffet spread, & the full english was delicious!

- Gillian (8/5): We have been here before and enjoyed our stays . We will hopefully be back again, enroute to our holiday in North Devon - Great location for where we needed to be . The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. Very welcoming to us and our dog . It was no trouble at all arranging a table in the bar to eat our food for both evening meal and breakfast ( as dogs not allowed in the restaurant) .

- Peter (8/5): Poor noise insulation through the room door. - Overall not too bad, but why do the chambermaids have to chat in the corridor near guest rooms for ages starting at 8:30am on a Sunday morning after I was up late Saturday night and wanted a lie in? Seriously, they were doing it for what seemed like 90 of the 120 minutes between 08:30 and 11:00 (check out time). Eventually I had to stick my head out of the room to be sure it wasn't just ignorant other guests. The public lobby area, behind a fire door, where they could have chatted without disturbing anyone, was only a few steps away, but I suppose they would be seen not working by reception from there. I usually leave a tip for housekeeping staff, but didn't this time. Their loss. Grim.
