Guest Reviews
- Mandy (9/5): -
- Hao-Yu (10/5): 滑雪前能吃到營養的早餐真的很幸福! - 性價比非常高,滑雪前可以先吃飯店準備的早餐。開車到各個雪場的距離都不會遠。 無
- Alexandre (8/5): -
- Karri (8/5): -
- Simon (9/5): We enjoyed our time at White Silver, it was great value, very comfortable and provided exceptional service. A great plac - Great staff who went out of their way to make our stay as easy as possible
- Jeremy (8/5): Excellent. Would return when in Hakuba again - The team were very welcoming and full of good advice on where to ski, buses, food etc. the lounge/TV areas were very comfortable. Gear drying worked really well Location works fine for buses but need a little walk for shops and restaurants. Not a problem but worth knowing
- Kerrie (10/5): - The room was warm and comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a 10-15 minute walk to the bus terminal, Lawsons and Echoland. I really enjoyed our stay.
- Matthew (8/5): Quaint and well appointed - Clean Location a bit out of centre but priced accordingly
- Ben (10/5): Quiet, cosy and friendly family-run home away from home. - Such a cosy and friendly home away from home. Quaint and warm. We loved the little hot tub in the bathroom and the dining and lounge rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. We could easily walk to bus stops and restaurants. We got a 10% discount at Lion Gear Rental because we were staying at White Silver Hakuba, and a good deal on a private lesson for the family to learn snowboarding basics (we were first-timers!) at Iimori.
- Cameron (10/5): Great stay, great staff, great facilities, great time. - Friendly & engaging staff, comfortable and cozy, great location We couldn’t stay longer lol
- Patricie (7/5): Nice rooms, and location but not so good breakfast - Great location, close to most ski fields. Nice and cozy house. But (as most places around) pretty overpriced for what you get. Breakfast was really bad for us. Expect tea, coffee, toast and some musli with bananas.
- Alexander (10/5): We loved our stay at White Silver. Staff were very friendly and the amenities were clean. - Comfortable beds, large room and good clean amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful and the common areas are spacious. My partner and I had never stayed in accomodation with shared amenities, but we were very comfortable at White Silver as they have a good amount of amenities. They provide a continental breakfast of fruit, cereals, bread/toast with spreads, small pastries, yogurt, tea, coffee and juice which was very convenient. Our room was cold as our heater didn’t quite warm the room enough.
- Meganmck_ (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were lovely and always willing to help! Bed and room super cosy! We accidentally left our jackets at the hotel and they kindly and quickly posted them for us, getting it to us in less than 24 hours. Would definitely stay again ☺️
- Charlotte (10/5): Comfortable and convenient - Cosy, in a convenient spot and very helpful and friendly staff. Nothing.
- Hong (8/5): Very good -
- Nicholas (8/5): Good value for money, friendly staff, breakfast included - Good sized rooms, comfortable beds, breakfast included, friendly staff. They gave us a lift to the train station at the end of our stay. Would have been nice to have a cooked breafast option (eggs ) to prepare for a long day skiing.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (8/5): Great place to base yourself for a week or two in Hakuba - LocaTed close to bus stops and short walk to the Lawson , echo land and the Big supermarket
- Nancy (7/5): Good -
- Abby (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were super helpful, great facilities and in the middle of lots of popular areas Location wasn’t super close to town areas but easy walking distance
- Lyle (9/5): Superb -
- Eleanor (9/5): Super fun, clean and practical - Close to bus stops for skiing which was convenient. Very knowledgeable staff and they were always quick and happy to help
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Monique (10/5): I would recommend and stay here again! - Absolutely loved my stay at White Silver, the bed was very comfortable, and I had the best view from my room. The staff were friendly, and the place was very quiet, so I had the best night's sleep. It was a tad bit far from the city centre and the mountain.
- Kay (1/5): The guest house is OK but the owners behaviour and logistical challenges make it hard to recommend - The guest house itself is fine, The two female staff members were friendly and helpful.
but the owner's behaviour and logistical challenges make it hard to recommend As a solo female traveller, I expected at least a basic level of hospitality, but the owner was rude and aggressive, making the stay uncomfortable. Be aware that getting around can be inconvenient, there were no pavements so you have to walk on snow packed roads. The guest van only operates at certain times and only for arrival and departure at the nearby train and bus station, meaning you'll have to walk everywhere else. If you plan to eat out, note that the popular noodle house nearby is nearly impossible to book.
- Mitchell (5/5): Missing some essentials - Could have cooked up some eggs in the morning.
Could have allow use of the kitchen
Could have allow guests to visit.
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - As per the previous reviews the place is great. The service from Greg and his team is second to none all the information you could possibly need to have a comfortable and super fun ski holiday in Hakuba is available there for you. Breakfast is very basic. Maybe a hot chocolate option or a better coffee.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (9/5): A friendly, comfortable stay - Staff are absolutely fantastic - always willing to help. It has an English B&B charm. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Two bus stops to slopes are very close and we managed to get to 4 resorts easily. Pickup and drop off at train and bus stations was effortless. Restaurants are a short walk away and while other accommodation may be closer the cost is much higher. If walking during winter is an issue factor Uber and Taxi's in, but you will still be saving. The breakfast while nice was just continental but was included in the room price. Family room would be a great option as we had to book two rooms that weren't connected
- Jessica (10/5): Excellent! Hakuba was the best part of our holiday and staying with you guys only made it better. - My partner and I had a great stay. Definitely would recommend to friends who visit Hakuba. Will definitely try to book to stay when we come back to Hakuba. The pillows felt a little hard but that's so minimal and subject to opinion but that's it.
- Jiajun (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (7/5): Good -
- Joshua (10/5): Great location & friendly staff - Great location with very friendly and helpful staff. Staff provided many excellent recommendations about board rentals, lessons and ski passes to prepare for our first trip in the snow. They also provided a pick up and drop off service from the bus which was very helpful.
- Emilio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Knight (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Felix (9/5): Superb - Lot's of things to like about this place. To start, the whole place was super cosy. The rooms, common area, and everything about the place, made it a very welcoming environment. Really enjoyed coming back to the warm and inviting room after a long day of skiing. The beds were super comfortable and slept like a rock all nights we stayed there. The included breakfast was a nice touch, and was great to have especially since there is not so much in the area to get breakfast.
Close to the hotel, there was a beautiful Onsen where we went every night. It is more of a local Onsen than the other one in town, and has a great view. Would absolutely recommend going. Everything was great. Haven't got any negative comments. Thanks for a great stay.
- Minnett (10/5): Exceptional - Greg and the rest of the staff were super accommodating and helpful in recommending what the best mountains to ski were, based on conditions, traffic etc
- John (9/5): Superb - Charming place within walking distance to food and short bus ride to Hakuba ski resorts.
- Neridah (10/5): A magical experience - It was a wonderful welcoming beautiful looking wooden lodge. Having breakfast provided was excellent. The shared common rooms were lovely and cosy. It was great having access to the onsen after a day of skiing. We just made the mistake of booking ski lessons and hiring gear that wasn't close to the lodge. In future we'll book with companies that White Silver recommends.
- Shirley (9/5): The comfy house at Hakuba - LIke aways, friendly staff like talking to friends, good location, very convenient to go everywhere. Good value for sure.
- Gabriela (9/5): Excellent place when visiting Hakuba valley. - Very cozy accommodation not too far from Echoland and right next to a shuttle bus stop that takes you straight to the slopes. Greg was extremely helpful in providing useful tips to make the trip run smoothly and happy to pick up/drop off to the station at the start and end of the stay if required.
- Hobbs (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were unbelievably understanding and accommodating, willing to help with all of our problems or questions!
- Gerard (10/5): Thank you guys. Excellent highly recommend - Friendly and kind staff. Very helpful great location and breakfast. Would advise to stay here N/A
- Edward (10/5): Felt like being at home but with snow! - Great location and very comfortable Nothing!
- Mireil (9/5): Superb - A comfortable, family-friendly place with lots of facilities. Greg, his family and staff are all such nice people and helpful in answering any questions we had and in giving recommendations about skiing, transport, restaurants etc. Greg and his wife offered to drive our family a few times when the local bus didn’t arrive. Super friendly and catering hosts which made our stay enjoyable.
- Irene (10/5): Exceeded expectations, they have thought of everything to make the stay memorable - Owner and staff incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were great. Device charger in room was brilliant. The drying room was handy. Even drove us to another train station 30 mins away when we left, because a tree had fallen over the line blocking access, so we could make our connecting train. Thanks so much! Nothing
- Isabelle (9/5): Superb -
- Mcadam (7/5): Good -
- Sandra (8/5): Very good -
- Wk (10/5): Great stay - would definitely stay again - Location was quite good for Happo-One ski area. Excellent service from the hotel manager who gave us valuable information about getting around, eating and general facilities in Hakuba. He also gave us a lift to the bus stop when we checked out.
- Madeleine (9/5): Lovely cosy stay in Hakuba, would recommend. - We really loved this stay - comfortable rooms and bed, great facilities (onsen, drying room for snow gear, vending machine, access to washing machine, yummy breakfast), very clean, good location and friendly staff! Greg (owner) was so kind, informative and willing to help with everything which made our stay that much better.
Would recommend this stay to a friend or family. The location is in between echoland, happo and the train station which means everything is a close drive or can be walked within 15/20 mins. Nothing
- Adam (10/5): Would recommend to anyone snowboarding/visiting Hakuba Valley. - The property was in great condition and the room stay was excellent. The complimentary breakfast was great to have and everything operated smoothly. The location was perfect to where we needed to get to was easily accessible by free transportation. Everything was great and no dislikes.
- James (10/5): Perfect stay - Friendly owners, very clean, a good sized room, bathroom with great water pressure, a great bath tub to relax after the day's skiing, good continental breakfast spread, and for good recommendations, and sending us to the station Nothing at all.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Greg the host was very helpful with any information needed. There was always a full continental breakfast laid out, Croissants muffins toast with all the toppings, cereal and fruit. The location was half way between happo and echoland which gave you the choice between the two when going out for dinner or drinks, also plenty of good restaurants just around the corner, most specialising in soba noodles. There is also an option of bus stops close by for the selection of resorts on offer. Ask Greg for info on which is best for each resort
- Cezary (5/5): Na - Na Na
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional - The lodge is perfect for traveling to Hakuba, it contains an eclectic mix of travelers and the setup is great. Greg is a fantastic resource for navigating Hakuba, and amenities from breakfast to the vending machine make the stay memorable and easy
- Zoe (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy
- Caleb (9/5): Superb -
- Taylah (10/5): Warm, comfortable and friendly stay! - Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Room was warm and comfortable. Drying room is great after the snow. Breakfast was simple but offered great variety and tasty. Nothing!
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brett (9/5): Superb - Very clean. Comfortable beds.
The location is convenient for walking to restaurants and shuttle buses for skiing.
The owner was fantastic. Very helpful. My wife had a skiing accident and he was supportive to help make her comfortable. We had a shared bathroom and bath (onsen style). But it was still fine since it was pretty much private. We never had issues.
- Juan (9/5): Excellent!! Would definitely repeat - Literally everything was great, no complains! Gregg is friendly and will help you with everything you need. Maybe a bit far away from stores and restaurants if you’re walking, but common you’re on holidays, you can walk 15 minutes to get a ramen, no complaints with this.
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Libby (7/5): Ensure the free shuttle service aligns with your travel plans. Limited options if not. - Comfortable bed and shower in ensuited rooms Whilst I know the offer was for a continental breakfast, it was mainly cereals on offer.. A natural muesli would have been a nice alternative.
Shared bathroom facilities a little tired and could lack privacy for some.
- Yip (8/5): A pleasure stay - A cozy bouquet inn where it located nearby Hakuba bus terminal 15mins by walking. It is quiet surrounded by several restaurants and settle bus stops also within walking distance. None
- Kathrina (8/5): Very good - The location was good. Couple of bus stops very close to the lodge. Walking distance to Echoland and Happo One. Service was great! Got picked up from the Welcome Centre in Happo One and dropped off again. The double room with ensuite was cosy and warm. A bit small if you have 2 suitcases but manageable.
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - Greg was a great host for our family with lots of local tips. Breakfast was exactly what we needed to start the day. The toilet cubicles were small for tall people and it could of done with a few more western bathrooms
- Heike (9/5): Superb - Great breakfast and great advice provided by Greg
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional - Good price. Very nice host. Almost a mile from town.
- Qian (9/5): Superb - White Silver is not far from the Happo one resort and the free ski shuttle bus is 5min walking. Greg is a very nice host and helped us a lot with the local info. about transport and restaurants. I love it provides breakfast -simple but good enough for a fresh morning.
- Karen (8/5): Great place - Great little place very welcoming and comfortable A bit further to walk to restaurants than anticipated but otherwise all ok, 600m to the centres
- Gavin (8/5): Very good -
- Flynn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joshua (9/5): Superb -
- Larissa (8/5): Very good -
- Theresia (8/5): Very good -
- Kit (10/5): Exceptional - The host picked us from Hakuba station and dropped us to the bus terminal before check in and after check out. Our 3-night stay was wonderful. Thank you Greg, you are awesome. Nothing.
- Jasper (10/5): Great lodge for skiiers and snowboarders alike. Good location which is close to the main shuttle bus stops. - Greg was a very friendly and helpful host.
- Mitchell (10/5): Exceptional -
- Akiko (9/5): We would recommend for the extremely friendly and helpful staff. - The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was slightly distant from the ski slopes and the ski school we used.
- Claire (9/5): Cosy ski lodge with friendly atmosphere - Greg was such a fantastic host, he gave advice to us each morning about the best place to ski, he helped us arrange ski rental, and he dropped us at the station when we checked out.
I also really appreciated the free breakfast, the comfy TV room, and the onsen. N/a
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Quiet Location Some internal noise late at night
- Astrid (9/5): My Gold Award for friendly hospitality ;- ) - Greg and Jayne know what it's like to go skiing with the family and how tricky some logistics can be. They went out of their way to make our stay, the ski rental and transport back and forth to the slopes super smooth and easy. The arrangement with the Rainbow ski rental place, where on leaving Hakuba, we could just leave the equipment in White Silver's dry room is very smart and time saving!
- Scott (9/5): Was a great stay, would recommend - The staff are great, the facilities are clean and cheerful and it was always warm and welcoming. Especially if you are a couple of mates travelling for ski-ing it would be perfect! Location was a little far away, especially with a younger 6 year old, as there aren't any direct buses that are close (for the mountain we skied at) when returning.
- Negin (10/5): Amazing hosts, we had a wonderful stay. - Greg and his wife Jane were exceptional hosts, very accomodating and helpful. They dropped us at the ski slopes in the morning and were happy to share their knowledge with us. They were happy to assist with any thing they could during our stay. The property is just out of the main hub, but easily walkable to restaurants 10-15mins away.
- Jakub (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Griff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kyle (2/5): Very poor -
- James (10/5): Would absolutely stay here again - Jane and Greg were amazing, helped us with all our questions and were extremely helpful. Great location, excellent property and great rooms.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Friendly host, amazing stay - Our stay at White Silver Hakuba was very enjoyable. Greg (owner) and his team was very warm and friendly. He suggested good food, shops for ski / snowboarding rental and activities to try around the area. He also offered to send us out from the lodge in the mornings to a location near our snow resort which was very important cause travelling to the snow resort with the gear tedious.
- Vincent (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay at White Silver!! Greg and his wife were so kind, always available and trying to help us and make our stay as pleasant as possible. And it was! A true sense of omotenashi. I strongly recommend their place, close to a lot of restaurants, between Echoland and Happo. And just a few minutes by car from the main ski stations.
- Fook (9/5): Great stay! - The hosts -Greg and his wife are most helpful. They sent us every morning to our ski place.
- Jessica (10/5): Excellent staff, great location and great price for the area. - The staff were wonderful. Definitely made you feel like you were at home. Great location, easy access to town and the resorts. It would be nice if breakfast included a little more such as eggs, meat, cheese etc but otherwise it was a great stay.
