Guest Reviews
- SRutherfordSmith (10/5): Lovely stay in Marrakech - Stayed here with my husband and 3 year old son. It was a very comfortable stay. We arrived very late in the evening and they were very accommodating. Our room was in the basement which was a little unsettling to begin with as the elevator takes you to the kitchen and laundry areas. However, it was a very large space with ensuite bathroom and toilet and our very own hammam (which we didn't know how to use). The decor and linen were all top notch and the bed was ample big enough for the three of us. The lighting in the bathroom is a little dim and wouldn't suit anyone who wears substantial makeup (not a problem for me). The communal areas are lovely. Breakfast is different (and smaller) to what we are used to in European or even countries that were colonized by Britain. But I cannot fault value for money when you consider that breakfast is included in the price. It is a little outside the souks/medina but a very walkable distance (this means it's much quieter especially at night). Overall, an excellent stay in well cared for a beautifully decorated riad.
- rauldelcuba (10/5): Beautiful - Good location - Quality Service - Very nice hotel and kind & caring staff. We stayed there 4 nights 5 days. The hotel has a great location. It is a boutique hotel. Our room was very beautiful, comfortable and clean.
Breakfast is ready on time and it is very tasty. The hotel staff is friendly and polite that you feel safe in happy there.
I recommend this place if you make your way to Marrakech.
- ChristianStr2017 (8/5): Could be a gem - Stylish little hotel in a former private residence with a handful of generous rooms, good beds, excellent location just outside Medina in walking distance of main sights. Could be a real gem with better trained staff, some improvements on rather standard breakfast, better heating and a more stable Wi-Fi. Credit card payment was „not working“.
- Lisa (10/5): - Beautiful Hotel. The staff was excellent Abdul was wonderful and very helpful. Breakfast was a joy. Close to everything we walked to everything we wanted to see. Large grocery store that sells alcohol:) a few blocks away:) would definitely recommend to friends and family.
- scottlQ8106XG (8/5): Lovely quiet little hotel - This is a lovely quiet hotel with pluses and minuses, we stayed for 3 nights and it was a good experience overall: -
The pluses are the rooms are a great size (ours was, it had patio doors that led out the pool), the shower was big enough to have a party in!. The Staff are friendly and helpful and the location is good to get to the main square.
The negative for us, was a lack of Bar, but nothing stopping you going to a shop and buying some, although do not expect any ice from the hotel. the Air conditioning was not great but adequate for May around 30'C. The breakfast was basic, Omelette with or without cheese, bread, pancakes, yoghurt, orange juice and a hot drink.
If you stay here we would recommend going to Poka - an Asian cuisine restaurant about 5-10 minutes walk away.
- 201joanac (10/5): Great Staff! - We started with a good typical breakfast. The cleaning and decoration of the place were also very good. And we would like to thank Fatima, Abdel and Hicham for their availability and sympathy. Also we really liked the tourist guide, Salim, on the first day, he toke us to places that alone we would never found. Great place to stay!

- Verified traveler (8/5): - Très bon service je recommende vivement pour passer son week-end dans des conditions calme le personnel est très accueillants certe pas de parking privé mais l endroit est bien sécurisé, très satisfaite.
- Verified traveler (10/5): It was wonderful! Thank you Darsor! - It was great! They cleaned very well and often. The hotel is beautiful. Suki was a great help! Everyone was so helpful. I could not speak the language well but they made so much effort to help me. The pool area is gorgeous and the breakfast was phenomenal. Thank you!
- zayneb (10/5): Génial - Génial
- Linda (10/5): Agréable séjour - Chambre spacieuse, propre et très bonne emplacement. Je recommande
- DIDIER819 (10/5): Excellent stay - We have spent a weekend at darsor. It is avery nice Dar (house in moroccan). The rooms are very well made, and rthey have the sense of details. Outstanding hospitality and service, Mr Abdelilah at the reception was cery welcoming, smily and helpful. He gave us a lot of advices about our weekend getaway in Marrakech. The locatio' of this dar is also great, steps away from the medina and nightlife. I highly recommend.
- June (10/5): - Absolutely gorgeous property, helpful staff, walking distance to new part of town and the old town and Médina.
It was safe, close to the train station, many restaurants within walking distance.
You won’t see the staff very often, they want you to feel at home, so they can be found downstairs if you need them. Ahmed made your reservations, taxi and had our laundry done. We would recommend this place and come back! The rooms are huge, nice closets and a safe. Bathroom was nice with large shower and double sinks.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location between new and old Marrakesh
Good breakfast, comfortable bed, nicely decorated
- 596freddieg (10/5): Super! - Just spent 4 nights here..had a wonderful time...pretty hotel in great location..super breakfasts..great room and such friendly staff that made my first trip to Morocco a totally fabulous trip. Cant wait to go back.
- meryd134 (8/5): Great experience - I will be back to this place next time ill go to Marrakesh, i think that says a lot.
Before i go to This hotel i read the reviews and i was a bit afraid for what i was reading, but i took the chance and called the hotel to check if their problems were fixed and i they were nice and honest about it.
So i took the risk and booked the hotel, my husband and loved it, the welcoming with a sweets and tea just as the traditional Moroccan welcoming, the staff just amazingly caring and what to say about the rooms , beautiful modern rooms, VERY NICE SHOWER AND WE GOT HOT WATER SO DON'T BE AFRAID :).
The hotel its 10 min from the old city walking , and 0 minutes from the Guiliz (modern Marrakesh we can say where are the malls and shops and restaurants).
This is one of the best hotels i had in Marrakesh, With an AMAZING AND DELICIOUS BREAKFAST.
Thanks to all the staff and the manager for being that nice.
- oltan07 (10/5): Excellent - I stayed in this hotel for a couple of days and overall I can say it was a great experience. The room was comfortable, clean and well decorated. The hotel is located in a quiet area but still not far from the central square. Worth mentioning the amazing stuff members who were welcoming, helpful and made our stay in Darsor really enjoyable!
- kolux (4/5): Very nice staff .......STAY AWAY!! - Clean hotel with very helpful staff. A hammam was offered in the presentation but when we arrived it was not working(!) and during the day there was a lot of noise from the basement from the (re-)construction of it! Our "presidential" suite was not very practical with two chairs and a table that couldn't be used in any practical way as the room wasn't big enough for that; and a large glass wall between the bedroom and the bathroom/toilet was not practical at all and very odd to say the least! However, the worst of all was the cold in the hotel. During our weekly stay the heating system was working extremely bad and on top of that we had three days without any hot water. For anybody who has been in Marrakech in January it is easy to understand what it means. The rooms ice-cold and no way to have a shower! The common space where we had breakfast was ice cold too. The staff were really kind and tried to do all they could to help us. Breakfast was OK although a bit repetitive but we always had the possibility to ask for fresh fruit or an omelette which was served with a smile. We were three couples travelling together and all trying to have the owner do something to compensate us for suffering the bitter cold and lack of hot water. It seems that the owner doesn't live in Morocco; probably she is just happy to receive the proceeds of her investments without giving any thought about what is happening in the hotel. All three couples were sending emails to her without any answer whatsoever to our complaints. With such an arrogant attitude, CHOSE ANOTHER HOTEL! This was truly a very bad experience.
- cherfr (6/5): no hot water 3 days in one week!!!!! - As you may read from the title the biggest problem was no hot water to take a shower and this happened 3 times in a week stay!
Big room,wonderfull mattress .
But,the safe was not screwed; you could just run away with it!
Hairdryer fixed to the wall did not work (gave us the second day a commun hairdryer).
Big windows wouldn't lock,so that your room stays "open" all day and night (only solution was to close the shutters!).
Breakfast good, but similar every day.
Friendly and helpful employees.
We ordered three trips, car was always on time.
I wrote 2 mails to the owner to explain the water problem, never got an answer.
This was an unfriendly treatment; it gives the impression that the owner just wants money, but doesn't really care about her guests.
We won't go back there next time...
- silveiradiniz (6/5): A bit too much expectation - Outside the city walls with the inconvenience of being aside a much busy and noisy road. Great cleanliness both in the room and common areas. Very kind staff, nice continental breakfast but not exceeding expectations.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Room was above average. Staff was excellent.
- Z4616LJalexs (10/5): Unforgettable experience - There are four things I look for in a hotel: a comfortable bed, good wifi, substantial breakfast and a clean powerful shower, the Darsor certainly ticks those boxes, and is a wonderful place to relax after a long day seeing the sights of Marrakesh and prepares you for the next day no matter how busy it will be. I will go back there anytime I am in Marrakesh and reccomend it.
- laura_penteli (10/5): Hidden Gem in Marrakech - Darsor is a Riad type of hotel which is perfectly situated between the Medina (the old town) and the new city, so both centres are less than a 15 minute walk. You can also easily walk to the beautiful Jardin Majorelle and the YSL museum as well. There is a supermarket about a 5 minute walk away for those last second things you may need.
The staff are so friendly and helpful, I especially loved how well they know their beautiful city and will give you tips on what to visit at any time of the day. Soukaina, the manager is incredibly friendly and made my stay an absolute pleasure.
This hotel, is a beautiful example of classic Moroccan architecture and has a lovely swimming pool. One of my favourites is the ‘Moroccan room’ where you can escape the noise of the city and just relax with a cup of mint tea and just get away from it all. The rooms are spacious and decorated in the local style and our room had a lovely balcony.
When we arrived we were greeted by Ahmed with some lovely cookies and Moroccan tea.
Thank you Soukaina and the rest of the staff
- astricella (10/5): A home at the heart of Marrakech - The hotel is a jewel a few minutes away, outside of the ancient wall of Marrakech.
Tastefully decorated, clean, with an incredible staff; Ahmed, Abdul and Fatima really made my friend and I feel at home. From here on, this is where I'll be staying when in town.
Thank you Darsor!
- mollykates (10/5): paradise - When we got there the hotel manager gave us tea and biscuits and showed us to our room our room which was amazing, spacious and beautifully decorated very clean and modern yet with traditional touches, as well as fully air conditioned, the overall hotel was beautiful with a room intricately decorated and beautiful moroccan tile. The breakfast every morning was wonderful and we were given full table service. The pool is clean and quiet as it is not a massively large hotel so most of the time we were the only ones using it. The outside had a double sun lounger which me and my boyfriend loved to chill on. The location is perfect a short walk away from both old town and new town and old town can get busy and stressful the Darsor is the perfect distance away so you feel you have a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle. I couldn't praise it enough I would definitely come back again!!!!
- Barbara (10/5): - Nice location in a more quiet part of the new town. The hotel was gorgeous, it looked like a lovely museum! The dining area was in a beautifully detailed room overlooking a quiet pool. One interesting feature of the room was a window in the bedroom that looked directly into the bathroom- right at the shower! You and any partner should be comfortable with this when booking the room.
- Lynneonekidney (10/5): Absolutely excellent - Fabulous hotel. Staff are wonderful and the room I had was beyond my expectations. If you want dinner you need to tell them in the morning. You won't be disappointed. The food is excellent. Fabulous outdoor area with a swimming pool, very handy to the Medina. I'd definitely stay again.
- Alan (10/5): You won't be disappointed with Darsor. - Our stay at Darsor was such an amazing experience. The staff were the highlight of the stay. The small team were all very friendly, accommodating and helpful. They were able to provide us with information on what to look for when shopping in the medina and how to ship a package back home. They also arranged a massage/hammam for us at Darsor. Every morning we were treated to a home-cooked breakfast with delicious mint tea. The place was quiet with only a few occupants and the rooms were spectacular. I felt that Darsor was a nice balance between a riad that was in the middle of the energetic medina and a hotel in the new city part of Marrakech. The location was in between and made it easy to walk to either place when we wanted. We stayed at 8 different places on our trip and this was one of the best.
- OSCAR LEONEL (8/5): Marrakech al maximo - Buena atención. Poco inglés y español. Muy atentos y serviciales. Boutique hotel con 7 habitaciones!
- wishwasbackthere (10/5): What a Gem :-) - Lovely modern hotel that still captures the Moroccan charm. Pristine clean everywhere, lovely pool and comfortable sun loungers. Breakfast very substantial and everything freshly made. Staff couldn't be more helpful, nothing too much trouble. We brits are prolific tea drinkers and although there was no kettle in the room, flasks of hot water could be requested at any time and there was no charge for this. Decent size fridge in the room and a supermarket 5 mins or so walk away for milk, fruit, snacks, etc.
Ideally situated, equidistant from the old town and the new city (15 min walk in either direction) with all the souks and the Jardin Majorelle also in walking distance.
We weren't leaving until early evening so paid to keep the room on for the day, well worth it. Arrange private taxi for us to the airport at a reasonable price.
Can highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Marrakech. Wifi was free and better in the lobby and on the terrace than in the room.
- Jeffrey (8/5): - Great location with great price, spacious and modern rooms, very friendly staff. Small details were annoying like no key acces to the hotel and slow breakfast service. Overall a good experience
- Reaz (10/5): Nice hotel
Near the Jama Al Fana square - Everything was excellent
But I was staying with kids, so there was no
Lock in door from inside, If u go washroom
They can open door and going out.they have see throw window in middle of washroom near bed.these two small thing they should repair.
Otherwise everything excellent!!!!
Again excellent!!
- Eliza (10/5): At Home in Marrakech - We would like to thank Souhail, Fatima, Aziz, Hosna and Absul for a wonderful stay in Marrakech. Every member of staff was welcoming, friendly and accommodating and had great recommendations for restaurants and places to eat! Aziz took great care to ensure we were safe and comfortable when we went nightclubbing and this was very much appreciated.
The hotel is also situated in a great location as it is half way between the old city and the new! It is a lovely sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech for those wishing to fully explore it.
