- 173rebeccaa (10/5): Lovely - Inn on Woodlake is a beautiful hotel. The halls and common rooms are full of rich woodwork and feel timelessly beautiful. The room we stayed in was very standard, but the beds were comfortable, and it was meticulously clean. The bathroom had a wonderful multi-nozzled kohler shower. Breakfast (which is inlcuded) is simply amazing. 3 rooms full of offerings that is sure to please everyone.
- maureenliebenson (8/5): Nicer than last year! - We had a lovely time. Staff was very, very nice to our dog, and to us. The pillows were perfect this year, the bed comfy, and the comp breakfast amazing. A charge of $24.95 for an in-room movie, however, was absurd, so we walked across the parking lot and watched the high school soccer game, and ate dinner with our pup under a heat lamp at the Tavern on Woodlake (waitress Bre was great). Felt bad the pizza restaurant and grocery in the little row of shops next door were gone, but we hear they will be back better than ever sometime next year. And the Kohler Chocolate Shop was still there (whew!).

- Mack (10/5): - Inn on Woodlake is part of the Kohler resort. The rooms are much larger than those at the American Club and just as nice. The Terrace restaurant is close by and the other Kohler restaurants are a 3 min shuttle ride away. The view on the lake side is very nice--putting green just outside the hotel near the lake. Having stayed at both American Club and Inn on Woodlake, I would stay at Woodlake next time. Buffet breakfast was great--everything you could possibly want.

The front desk attendant was trying to do us a favor by checking us in early which we appreciate, but the room was very far away from the elevator and we were hoping for a bigger bathroom in order to experience the kohler bathroom experience, unfortunately the front desk attendant did not communicate this to us.

But we did enjoy what we could in that time frame. The Waters Spa is pricey but it is by far one of the most beautiful spas I’ve ever experienced. The food is very good in every location. The staff is super friendly.

Breakfast was a good selection and pleasant to sit outside on the sunny terrace. Inn is close to Woodlake shopping area with a good variety of shops.

I only wish the front desk would explain that the pool was not located in the same building. We were in our swimsuits and ready to go; only to realize it was in the gym area and we needed to take a shuttle. The pool could be open until 10p.m. on weekends as well so people can enjoy it after ice-skating or dinner. It would be nice if guests could snowshoe the next day for free. The person running the warming room told us it's a $35 charge to snowshoe the next day. It was too dark to go at nighttime and the trails were not lit. Overall it was pleasant but could be better!

It's a little less expensive than the actual American club, and still gives you access to the shuttle, the sports core, and other areas around kohler. It's located right at the shops at Woodlake so it's very convenient. Breakfast in the morning is amazing such a great selection, which is something you don't get if you're actually staying at the American Club. You also have some great views of the lake if you get one of those rooms

- maureenliebenson (6/5): Bring your own pillow - The pillows were the hardest ones I've ever had in a hotel. The bed was fine--not great, but fine. The carpet needs some love. But the shower is amazing and the comp breakfast is great. It's our fifth time there, and the first time I think I didn't give it five stars (circles?). It just seemed kind of average. Some of the people at the front desk were super pleasant, but others kinda meh. The fire pit out back was nice, and the connective stores are interesting, although we felt bad the artsy store had closed after 35 years. The pizza we got next door at the golf swing place was amazing, as was the warm brownie with ice cream. Servers there were super sweet. We will go back, but with our own pillows.

Also a shuttle service is provided from the hotel around the Village. Hotel also has awesome breakfast included.

- deannabowden (4/5): Not romantic or upscale, but fine - If you are looking for a nice romantic stay, this is not it. The hotel is about equivalent to a Courtyard, although the bathrooms in many Courtyards are nicer. The dark and dinky bathroom really surprised me. The bathroom also had a dirt problem, see photo, as well as bit of a musty smell. The shower does have multiple heads, but this just makes the tiny shower difficult to use. If you (or your child) are under 5’3”, the wall tiles will just spray you in the face. This is not adjustable and it’s too small to move away. Using only the dual overhead sprays has little water pressure. Shaving is very difficult because of the small size of the shower. We also had a strangely similar experience to an earlier reviewer regarding a room switch at check-in. We had booked a Tower King. When we arrived a couple hours early, we were told that our room was still being cleaned. No problem, lots of nice areas to wait. But when we came back to check in at 4, we were told that the Tower King was not available and we were given a Lake King. The clerk assured us that this was an equivalent room, maybe even better, but according to their posted rates, it was a 2 level downgrade. We travel a lot. Things happen with rooms, but other hotels have offered equivalent or upgraded rooms. If you are golfing in the area, this hotel is probably fine, although pricey for the level of comfort. For families or couples, better accommodations are available.

- Karen (10/5): Wonderful staff and charming hotel. - The front desk accommodated our early check-in; very kind of them to do so as our flight arrived mid-morning. While we couldn’t afford The American Club, I felt as though we were treated very well and the room/hotel is very nice/charming. We had no real view but given they were able to give us a room earlier in the day, we were fine with. We especially liked that the Woodlake Market was close by; everything we came to do was so easy with shuttle service and proximity to the club. We would stay again for sure!

The beds were comfortable, we loved the shower jets & thoroughly enjoyed the abundant & diverse options for breakfast (eggs,burritos,bacon,sausage,potatoes,fresh berries, yogart,granola, breads,cereal,scones, muffins&more). I spoke with other guest about the golf & they said they've never played anywhere like it. The Kohler factory tour was amazing. Would have been nice to have a pool at the hotel. The spa is under contruction. The sports area with the pools/spas was packed with kids for the holiday weekend. I was surprised with so many people at the sports complex they didn't have attendants sanitizing nor anyone in the locker rooms cleaning. Highly recommend. We will be back.

- Britishcats (8/5): Good Experience - We spent four days at the Inn on Woodlake during the week after Christmas. The staff is very professional and friendly. Housekeeping is excellent. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and of course, the Kohler shower and soaking tub were wonderful! Breakfast is provided each day and it’s quite good. This is a good hotel for people traveling with children as it’s less formal than the American Club. We would stay here again.

- Johanna (6/5): - This is the 2nd time we stayed at The Woodlake Inn. We walked into our room to find an large yellow, industrial floor fan in front of the heating/cooling unit. We hauled it down to the front desk. There was no report of anything wrong within their maintenance system. However, the unit was very loud and the following morning, the floor was wet and now our socks were too. During the 2nd night of our stay, the unit made a ridiculous amount of noise and started blowing hot air. We unplugged the unit to see if we could maybe reset it. It was 2 nights of miserable sleep. However, we enjoyed a day at the spa with multiple services, lunch and made reservations for 3 meals at the Tavern. The front desk and driver were all very nice.

- Chgo_biz_trvler (8/5): Clean, nice, but basic version of American Club - I stayed here because I attended a conference at the American Club and I was too cheap to pay the rates there. This is kinda like a more basic version. It was pretty basic, but clean and the front desk staff were very warm and pleasant. The rooms were quiet, which was good because a college golf team was staying there for a tournament, but I never heard them. It's a little pricey for the quality (think Hampton Inn or Courtyard) but I guess you're paying for the proximity to the resort and main hotel. Also they are adjacent to a shopping center with a bunch of high-end restaurants and stores, if that's your thing. About a 10-minute walk to American Club.

- danivanity (4/5): Bad service over priced - We had an unpleasant start that tainted the stay here, with cold and borderline rude front desk staff who handled the room check in. We get to our room to discover it’s not what we booked, we booked a room over looking the water. We get to our room overlooking a not scenic parking lot. My husband goes down and asks to be moved and the receptionist argued we were in a nicer room than we booked. We insisted on getting a room with a view like we asked so she told us to bring our stuff back down to the lobby (rude - thanks for making me lug it up there on their error to be rudely told to bring down) treated us like an inconvenience, having us awkwardly standing in the lobby while we are in people’s way because there no place to sit while we wait to hear about our new room. When we got to our new room, it was the same as what we were in, but with a view… so to tell us the wrong room she placed us in originally was an upgrade was a lie. The rooms were ok - personally not a fan of dingy carpet, it’s not sanitary, like a sponge soaking up the oils of other people feet. The bed was among the most uncomfortable I’ve slept in - hard spring mattress with not so much as a padded topper. I really hoped for the price a relaxing bed would be my minimum expectation. The bathrooms were nice, tho not cleanliest - black mold on the sink border. Also... I get the eco conscious aspect of not using single use toiletries, but it risks tampering and unsanitary conditions. I also think glass cups in the room is disgusting - I though COVID killed that but apparently not. The tv is small and looks like it’s from 2008, but the surround sound is a cool touch. No usb outlets other than on one side of the bed with a little alarm clock you could plug into. The room decor was mediocre, not luxury feeling at all… not a room I would want to spend any time relaxing in. Hilariously the only thing I was impressed with was the lobby restrooms - they feature a $5000 Kohler digital bidet toilet. We didn’t see any room service menu, breakfast is continental. I’ve stayed in Marriotts nicer than this hotel, but for the price, I stayed in the most luxurious and accommodating hotel, Vice Roy, this time last year for the same price as this mediocre over priced stay. This was… just a (uncomfortable) place to sleep. The only benefit is it’s attached to a strip of shops and restaurants, which is convenient (tho no coffee shops). Overall, I won’t be returning and will be warning friends and family to spare themselves the mediocre over priced experience of “destination Kohler”

- SUSAN (6/5): Woodlake - Unfortunately during our three nights stay which cost over $1100 our room was never cleaned and no fresh towels. We had expected more from the Inn On Woodlake.
- Leah (6/5): - We were woken up in the middle of the evening to an intoxicated couple in the room next to us. We were kept up until 4:30AM listening to them vomit. We were very disappointed in our stay, usually a great hotel!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice summer stay but corporate needs to review…. - The hotel is super convenient and made for golfers. Housekeeping, the morning breakfast, and the front desk teams were amazing - worked so hard and made the stay memorable. If you have someone in the party who is not golfing then the resort has some work to do…the swimming lake smelled. They charge a 30/ day resort fee but are starting to charge for items that would be included at other resorts - 40 per half hour for paddle boards….and charge extra for wanting to hike on property. The extra pricing would have been $95 for the day between the resort fee and the fee for grounds access. This seems excessive.

- lauralvits (8/5): Misbehaving golfers spoil it for everyone - The hotel itself was lovely; we stayed in the recently-completed new wing and had a fabulous room. The continental breakfast was the best we have ever had. Staying on the same floor as the golfers (a group of men that apparently thought they were at a frat party) was not so great. They were down the hall from us and didn't understand the concept of "inside voices." When I mentioned this at the front desk at check out the response I received was "oh, it's always like this during busy season. The golfers really know how to party." I was stunned by the comments of the front desk clerk. If this is the type of clientele that Inn on Woodlake caters to (with no regard for other guests who know how to behave) then we will not be returning.
- Gail (8/5): Pricey but love the spa - Clean and friendly. The comfort was average for this price. No bellman no valet parking and no discount for using spa services. Managed fine but for a hotel of this type somewhat disappointing. The spa is always amazing but pricey. 20% tip added to all spa services.

- Fr. Andrew R. (10/5): - This is my second time staying at Inn on Woodlake. First stay was good overall but had some hot water issues. Returned and staff was very friendly; shower was enjoyable with the multiple tiles of spraying water; breakfast was excellent and coffee was always available in the lobby; took a walk around woodlake in the early morning and had the lake to myself. Only suggestion I would have (I stayed in April during a warm spell) is to provide some furniture for the deck of the tower deck rooms and maybe an outside chair for the other main rooms that have either a deck or little patio outside. There were lots of birds around the lake which was quite beautiful and I do know that leaving outside furniture would probably be a pain to keep clean. I ended up taking my rolling chair outside the room onto the patio and using that.
- slong44962 (10/5): Great accommodation - Great accommodations. Breakfast included is fabulous! Lots of options for everyone. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Shuttle buses very convenient to get to all the key locations. Grocery store within walking distance if you need to pick up any snacks!
- Cjay324 (6/5): Nothing special. - Decent hotel but not really worth the 3 diamond star rating. Rooms could certainly use some updating. My room smelled like a hospital and the amenities are no different than what I received at the Country Inn and Suites recently. The in room coffee machine was ancient. Some of the shower heads couldn’t be adjusted so I was constantly blasted in the face with the one that was exactly eye level. Tried to use express checkout but the iPad in the room wouldn’t allow. Room was quiet and fairly clean and the staff was very friendly but the hotel is really nothing special and not what you’d expect from Kohler properties.

- X5294HOmichelleg (10/5): Excellent experience- fantastic staff - Excellent hotel! The staff is so friendly and helpful! They absolutely go above and beyond. I asked to get my parents moved from an Airbnb to here where we were staying and they found a room for them and made every accommodation possible. Every time we would leave the lobby they greeted us super warm and friendly. The hotel is clean and very good kept up. Shower is amazing and bed is comfortable. The hot free breakfast was very good. Definitely the right choice to stay in Kohler!

- Fr. Andrew R. (8/5): - Staff was friendly. The trees outside the hotel with lights were beautiful. Breakfast was good - they had gluten free bagels available on request. Biggest disappointment by far was the shower. Shower started at a good temp but keep getting cooler during the shower and then it got freezing cold and I had to shut it off, soap up, and turn it back on. We had two rooms and my friend in the second room had the same problem. We both showered between 7:00 and 8:00 am. A hotel known for its showers and bathroom fixtures NEEDS to have enough hot water for its guests. Would not stay again. At checkout they did not ask how our stay was.

- 841mikeh (8/5): Nice alternative to the main lodge - Second or third time here over the past few years. Inn offers a different option to the main lodge as it is more laid back. Think of a really nice motel room. Bed was awesome and shower of course was nice. Hot breakfast is finally back, but could use an upgrade. It is Kohler.

And of course top of the line Kohler bathroom fixtures with fantastic water pressure. Also loved the speaker for the TV above the bed, so the TV didn't have to be turned up so loud, so much more relaxing.

- maureenliebenson (10/5): Great getaway - The room was squeaky clean, the bed uber comfy, the sound system unexpected, the staff incredibly nice. We could not go to indoor restaurants because we brought our dog, but the weather was nice enough to eat outside at Blackwood Run and Taverne on Wood Lake. Both meals were delicious. Also got an amazing pizza one night at Taverne and ate it around the hotel's fire pit. It was the perfect place for a late autumn getaway. Having said that, we went once over New Year's, and that was great too.
- bcsystems (8/5): Modern Inn - The Inn on Woodlake is part of Destination Kohler. We stayed here on a 4 night golf package. It has very good service and the rooms are above average amenities. Impressive surround speaker system and the showers are a full body wash! While we were there, it was free stocked refrigerator. The breakfast in the morning is usually some hot sandwich and other usual pasteries/fruit. It is attached to an outdoor malls with shops and restaurants. There is a putting green in the back and a small beach.
- iantoes (8/5): Nice, but - The room was very nice, and considering the amount of groups of men out on a pass , pretty tranquil. Loved the lake, access to Sports Core great, as was the Taverne. Staff were great loved the roller coaster putting green. However it was hugely overpriced, and given that, despite, best efforts of the staff, breakfast offering was poor.
