• Johanna (8/5): Overall would stay here again :) - Lovely and helpful staff. Very familiar mom and pop style. There was some issue with the water temperature in the bathroom but the hosts were quick to fix it and found an uncomplicated solution. Breakfast had great selection, was yummy and with a view on the garden and channel. I was allowed to hang out in the breakfast room to get some work done on my laptop. Not the most modern rooms if that is relevant.

• Janet (8/5): Excellent riverside location with easy walking access into the city and very good breakfast. - Excellent location for leaving the car and exploring the city on foot. Only took approx 10 minutes to walk to the centre. The breakfast was very good, cooked to order, and there were options for vegetarian/vegan. The staff were very careful to accommodate food allergies and gave friendly, personal attention. The small lounge complete with honesty bar was a bonus to come back to and relax in. Enjoyed the riverside location with access to longer scenic riverside walks. It is also very close to the railway station for non-car users. Only having one key for the room. Also, the bed in our room was a little uncomfortable and would benefit from refreshing; however, we did sleep well.

The Manager (Owner?) was very friendly and explained everything I needed to know including a lovely recommendation for an evening meal, which they don't serve. I slept 9 hrs the best on the path to date. The breakfast was lovely with great, friendly service and fresh fruit selection. There are many more expensive places which may give you flowers & chocolate in the room but I doubt you'd beat this for value for money. Nothing

Car parking near central Oxford. Short walk into city centre. Would stay again. Helpful staff. Despite major construction work outside this was not disturbing inside. Window in bathroom was quite draughty. Hot water took a long time to come through taps but did in the end. Bath towel a bit small/thin.
• Meryl Urson (10/5): An Excellent Choice for central Oxford - A very traditional, personal, caring hotel. Its practical location that's pretty too (on the river) was wonderful. Parking was on site (rare so close to central Oxford). Breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. Sleep quality was great. The room was clean and quiet. It looked pretty basic but was very comfortable with everything necessary for a lovely stay. Nothing. That's a big compliment!

• michael (9/5): Great Place Near Central Oxford - Great hosts, interested in making our visit to Oxford great with plenty of ideas of things to do. The breakfast was very nice, cooked quickly and very tasty. Plenty to eat. The view from the breakfast room of the river is amazing. The location is fantastic, just on the edge of the central business/university/train staton area so very walkable. We parked our car and never needed it. The location is great, but there is a lot of construction nearby making it a bit stressful for an American on their first day driving in the UK. There was zero construction noise due to thick windows. The room is a little small, but very sufficient. We didn't use the honesty bar, but it looked very well stocked.

Jardim bonito e cuidado, ao lado do rio. Bonita sala de pequeno almoço. O pequeno almoço em si também é bastante razoável, tem cereais, iogurte, fruta fresca, doces e o English breakfast feito na hora. Possibilidade de deixar as malas na recepção após o check out. No geral é muito caro para o que oferece, mas acho que isto é o normal nos hotéis do UK.O quarto está bastante datado. O colchão é mesmo mole e as cortinas nao isolam suficientemente o sol. O WC é minúsculo, não havendo quase espaço entre a sanita e a parede. Pouca pressão de água no duche.

Der Frühstücksraum ist mit viel Liebe hergerichtet,man hat einen Blick auf die Themse und den Garten. Der zuvorkommende freundliche Besitzer bereitet das englische Frühstück frisch zu. Außerdem gibt es noch einen netten und kommunikativen Mitarbeiter. Die in die Jahre gekommenen Zimmer und Badezimmereinrichtung.

• Marie (10/5): Excellent - Chambre triple de décoration simple mais très confortable et calme, même sur la rue, Bouilloire et sèche-cheveux. Personnel extrêmement gentil et serviable, assez exceptionnel merci. Excellent breakfast très varié avec vue sur la rivière. Excellent emplacement car à 5 mn à pied de la gare et 10 mn du centre-ville. Facilités pour le check-in et out et pour garder les bagages. Je recommande. Ne pas manquer le très beau musée Ashmolean,, Christ Church College, Divinity School. Bien aussi Magdalen college et les evensong avec Choeur à 18h dans la chapelle gratuit et sur Broad Street la librairie Blackwell’s bookshop voir le sous-sol incroyablement grand et cosy et pas loin pub Turf tavern avec un cidre excellent. En face de l'hôtel près de la rivière bon pub aussi. On entendait un peu le générateur des travaux la nuit mais très peu car les travaux étaient plus loin vers la gare et ça n’empêche pas de dormir et pas de travaux la nuit. Ils auront fini cet été 2026. Il faudrait une barre pour accéder à la baignoire et en sortir mais sinon ok, grande salle de bain.

The rooms were clean. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Kettle available for tea and coffee. Hairdryer available. Plenty of sockets to charge devices. Wifi available. Unfortunately the roadworks caused noise throughout the night. It is not at all the fault of the hotel, but understandably, people with difficulties in falling asleep may suffer from this.

• Sawaros (8/5): Plesant - I like the location of this hotel which is near the train station, even though the railway bridge on Botley Road is closed during our visit in January 2026 (it will be closed to vehicle access until August 2026). This probably made the area around the hotel much quieter. There is a lounge/ bar for anyone to sit in and enjoy the drinks (with extra charges, paid when checking out). The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed a 1-night stay here. As we travelled as a group of 3 people with large luggage, the room was a bit too small. We could open only one luggage at a time. The room was warm and cosy, but there were no radiators in the bathroom, making it a bit cold.

• Aaran (10/5): No drama. Quiet. Comfortable - Bed was comfy and quiet. There was a little bar you could help yourself to. Didn't use it but it seemed like a nice touch. Short walk from the city centre. Complimentary bottled water which i did appreciate after a night out. Friendly staff. Clean. Quiet. Didn't affect me but i did hear the window whistling with the wind at one point. It was quite windy so it was fairly loud. As i say, didn't affect me because it wasn't at night but it does need sortin for future guests, ideally.

Staff were so friendly and accommodating and it was brilliant we could leave our luggage before and after check in. Great cooked breakfast in the morning too. I would of liked a walk in shower but was aware of that when I booked.

• Beverley (8/5): Great for what I needed and good value for money. - Lots of choice for breakfast that was suitable for vegan diets. Staff friendly with lots of local knowledge and suggestions - especially places to head for when the weather wasn’t great. Also gave me an upgrade so great value for money. Front entrance was closed at night which required walking to rear of the building to an entrance in the car park which was t great for a woman on her own , although the area generally felt safe.
• Melanie (6/5): Room could do with a makeover, but great location and friendly helpful staff - Very friendly and helpful staff, and great location The room is in need of updating. The fixtures and fittings are quite grubby, eg rusty racks in the bathroom, worn carpet, stains in a few places.
