A short walk to town, and a small supermarket nearby for essentials. The junior suites are great, with a kitchenette setup. The staff was very nice, but a special shoutout to Maybel for her kindness and her help during our trip.

The beach area in front is one of the surfing hotspots if that's what you are looking for. Mainly I would say the staff at this place is the best anywhere that we've been in years. They are friendly, helpful and all around amazing.

The room was immaculate and morning breakfast was just what we needed - fruit,granola and coffee! There’s surfing right in front of the hotel and we had a short walk on the beach to the pickup spot for fishing. My wife and I loved it! What a truly relaxing week
• andrealJ4028YI (10/5): Loved our hotel stay in Tamarindo! - Loved everything about this adorable hotel. Super clean, VERY helpful and made us feel welcomed right away. Literally the beach is right outside of the property, the pool is so clean, they have surfboards body boards and sand boys for the beach for the kids if needed. They provide you a great simple delicious breakfast, love that it was served to us every morning. And the STAFF house keeps to the security guards were so friendly. All around great vibes, walking distance to everything. I would recommend anyone to stay here if your looking for a beach front location. OneLove. Pura Vida !
• LawrenceV419 (8/5): Still happy - This was our 15th year year staying at this hotel. Probably for a good reason right? The staff from the Front Desk to the lady who cleaned the room were amazing. What has changed over the years: Friends can no longer come over to play card/domino games. If you use a surfboard you are charged. Years ago it was free because you stayed there. I understand not wanting friends using the facilities but coming over to playtimes inside of our room? I had contacted one of the owners about this with no response. We still plan to return here because of the staff.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast were delicious and had huge portions. The only downside was the black mold in the shower, the wall below the air conditioner, and the air conditioner itself which was blowing out chunks of black stuff while on.

• A767VWdianeo (10/5): Lived the Coast hotel!! - First time to Tamarindo and totally lucked out with the Coast Beachfront hotel. Beautiful rooms with full kitchen, nice and clean pool and steps from surfing at the beach. Complimentary continental breakfast delivered to our room. We ate outside each morning, watching the waves. The Coast is walking distance to the heart of Tamarindo while also being far enough to not be loud. Best experience- I hope we can go back!

• Billymac99 (10/5): Awesome - Hello ,My wife and I spent 4 weeks at the Apartment beside the Coast Hotel, VRBO which is owned by the Coast. so we got full use of all the amenities at the main hotel , and we had a wonderful stay, the staff at the front desk were so nice very helpful with anything we needed they made us feel at home, as well as the maids and security guards and grounds workers , everyone who works there has a wonderful attitude and they do an excellent job as well .The whole place is top notch , location is perfect beautiful rooms ands grounds , surf board rentals and lessons via Carlos surf school . • jamesfZ6007YN (8/5): 5 star room and service, but other areas need improvement - My teenage son and I just finished a week stay at the Coast. Here’s what we loved: The room! We had a beachfront bungalow which we HIGHLY recommend. Our balcony looked directly over the gorgeous ocean, and the room itself was massive, with a fully equipped kitchen. The front desk staff were consistently helpful and accommodating. Special shout out to Deijan and his big smile! Here’s what was just okay: The breakfast. While it’s lovely that they deliver breakfast to your room, the options are fairly limited. Think cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice. No eggs, pancakes, etc. The facilities. Other than a small pool, there’s nothing here. No restaurant, bar, etc. It’s honestly more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The location. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the main drag. We are active and don’t mind walking, but there are lots of hotels more central if that matters to you. Last, book a surf lesson at one of the many surf schools rather than with Carlos, the hotel instructor. We recommend Leandro and Surf Everyday Academy. Maybe we just found him on a bad day, but Carlos had negative energy and we can’t recommend him.

• Kaitlin (8/5): Perfect location - Started our honeymoon here. Amazing location - quiet and private but on the beach. We left our rental car parked in the lot the whole time and walked everywhere via the beach. Comfy bed, nice room, and breakfast is delivered to your room each morning. Front desk staff was very nice. Only complaint was that the TVs don’t work. They turn on but you can’t stream anything, connect to WiFi, or get cable channels, so they are basically useless. We asked for help and they told us the same thing.

The location is unbeatable: a surf spot right on the beach outside the hotel, swimming pool, and stunning nature all around. We spotted parrots, tropical birds, and even monkeys in the trees in the hotel area. The beach next to the hotel was perfect, during low tide it was great for exploring and relaxing, and at high tide, you could literally surf right up to the hotel. It's located at the quieter end of Tamarindo Beach, so it felt peaceful and laid-back. The breakfast was simple but fresh and satisfying, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. We absolutely loved our time here and would return in a heartbeat.

Our Beachfront room was clean and spacious, breakfast was simple but always delivered on time, the pool was lovely and clean and the beach is as private as you can get. The best part of our experience was the staff. Dejean and Michelle and the rest of the front office were friendly, accommodating and always there to please their clients. If you visit Tamarindo, this hotel will meet your expectations. And its a short walk to town

• Jasmina (10/5): - Boutique hotel - steps to the beach which connects to the core part of town. Location is perfect. If you stay on the main floor, you enter from the patio door - very convenient. They have a communal BBQ with outdoor tables for dinners. Breakfast is ordered daily and comes to the room. It’s contental so no eggs or meat but there is a full kitchen if you want to cook. They even have a blender to make smoothies. Great for the leftover breakfast fruit!

They offer surfboard and boogie board rentals, making it super convenient to catch some waves. The rooms were spotless, the pool was inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly. The light breakfast delivered to our room each morning was a delightful touch. We arrived early for check in but they were very accommodating and allowed us to check which was super helpful. Michelle, Stephanie & Deijan were the front desk staff and they were all great. All the staff were. The hotel has access directly onto the beach, secure parking and a lovely little pool. Beds were comfortable and rooms had everything you might need.
• I9789EIstaceyb (10/5): Costa Rica 2025 - The Coast Beachfront Resort did not disappoint!! We stayed here with a group of 18 with 8 rooms. You are literally steps from the sand. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The morning breakfast was perfect. Every room had great views of the beach or pool. Walkable restaurants and bars along the beach and also short walk to everything in town. The hotel even supplies a gas grill which we used 2 nights of our stay. A big shout out to the staff who were very welcoming and accommodating. Hoping to get back for another stay!! Pura Vita😊

• 29carr (10/5): Quaint comfortable and personalized - The staff at the hotel was AMAZING! They were all so accommodating, they even helped arrange transportation for our diving every morning. This hotel is great for a romantic vacation, nice and quiet, I would bring kids here as well. It's a quick walk to town, yet far enough away that you don't have a lot of traffic.

The property was beautiful, right on the most beautiful white sand beach, which was never super busy or frequented with vendors. Very clean, well kept property and grounds and with security (never needed) It’s not a huge hotel so quiet and peaceful. The pool was never busy. They gave us a room upgrade which was so amazing! Beautiful flowers, coconut water and a bottle of wine to welcome us! It’s within walking distance to many great restaurants, food trucks and any shopping! The staff were wonderful! Always cheerful and helpful, especially Rosa and Deijan! They were so nice and always able to help with shuttles and all of our inquiries. The included breakfast was lovely and always more than enough. Delivered to your room at your chosen time! • Jeramie Lome (10/5): - We stayed at this hotel for a week. The staff were all wonderful. There was a continental breakfast available to us everyday. Which is a oerfect start to the morning. Our room was clean and super comfortable with an amazing view. The pool is accessible and only 5 feet deep, and use of lounge chairs everywhere. Waking up to exoctic birds, and abimal sounds was an awesome experience. Seeing the Howler Monkeys on our way to down was the coolest ever. Plenty of iguanas and see crabs everywhere. This hotel offers the best dual experience. The romantic vacation away from the spring break party seen. And the vicinty of all the needs for a perfect vacation. The staff will lead you in the right direction for all things Costa Rican. Use the ice machine it is your friend. This was a very peaceful safe place to stay. And most important the pictures you see are real and everything is exactly as it shows. The beach is literally right there.
• V23YZangelas (10/5): A gem in Paradise - The perfect resort for peace and quiet in a tropical surrounding on the beach. My junior suite was opposite the pool just seconds from the beach. The room with kitchenette was spacious light and immaculate. Everywhere here is spotless. The king size bed very comfortable, the breakfast substantial delivered every morning. All the staff were superb: friendly,professional and helpful.The security was discreet and yet made me feel safe at all time. Very important to a not -so -young woman travelling solo. Restaurants and bars very close.A lovely walk on the beach for a refreshing Pina Colada. Free Hours everywhere. My favourite restaurant was Tabu (great vibes). Also La Palapa (on the beach). • David (8/5): - We booked both beachfront bungalows for 9 days for our family. We arrived late afternoon and the girl at the desk welcomed us by name and checked us in with no issues. She explained the breakfast options and gave us the form which we filled out and returned to the office. The property is not large with a pool situated on the middle of the buildings. The rooms were great with a small kitchen that fulfilled all of our needs. Never an issue getting a chair on the beach or pool. We walked just about everywhere we needed to go and got a taxi once. The beach is one of the nicest we’ve ever been to and the ocean was warm. Decent waves, we surfed just about every day. The only negatives we had were as Expedia Gold members were supposed to have $10 per day per room credit, which we would’ve used towards our surfboard rental. The girl at the front desk said it was per reservation even though it is clear in my reservation. Life’s too short to argue but they weren’t budging on it. Second complaint is the maid service. They gave us a form that said towels would be changed every three days, that did not happen. The four day my daughter left her towel on the floor and they just hung it up. We had to go request new beach and bathing towels twice. Overall it was a beautiful property and I would stay there again and recommend it to friends.

What I think could be helpful is a small cooler for each room because even though they have ice and water refill, they is no way to keep things cold. We used our ice tray from the fridge and then others started doing the same. There are no drinks to purchase at the hotel either pop or alcohol so it would be greatly helpful.

• J7127CGjeffl (10/5): Blissful Relaxation - We were on our honeymoon, and were staying wherever we ended up each day. Oh how we wished we’d found The Coast sooner. We would have loved to have stayed here a full week. The location, the amenities, the people (Deijan was a delight!). The beach is clean, wide and beautiful. The distance between the tides is very long, so you can wade out for quite some distance and feel safe. There are surfing schools either side and plenty of teak wood loungers in the shade if you just want to watch, relax and enjoy a gentle breeze. Security is excellent, with guards on the property, but very discreet. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. Our breakfast was placed outside our door at our chosen time. Fruits, cereals and yogurt were all fresh and delicious. What a wonderful Jen on the north west coast of Costa Rico!

Rooms were clean, mattress and pillows good too. Service was exceptional! Quick 5 minute walk into Tamarindo and restaurants and stores. Highly recommend!
• Jennifer (10/5): - This was a lovely well kept hotel on the outskirts of Tamarindo. The property is beautiful and right on a gorgeous beach, but with a shaded area with beach chairs. The hotel staff is especially friendly, the beach area is also staffed. The room was spacious and clean, with a fridge, stovetop and microwave. Breakfast is delivered to your room, which has a patio so you can eat inside or out. Bathroom huge and very clean. Highly recommend!

Restaurant across the street- incredible and captain Suizo restaurant down the way fabulous as well. Go there!! Pura vida!!
• evantaylor858 (2/5): HECK NO! This was absolutely awful, AND TERRIFYINGLY disrespectful and distasteful. - READ MY STORY - WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD IN A HOTEL. I TRAVEL A TON! First impresion - Ruby and the crew who greated us as we flew in on the red-eye this morning were the BEST introduction to Costa Rica I could have imagined. Ruby was one of the best hospitality professionals that have welcomed me in to the 100+ hotels that I have stayed at in my professinal career. Thank you Ruby, and I am sorry that your leadership doesn't have the same values. This hotel has proven to me to be a restrictive-confine to any traveler who would like to experience FREEDOM in Costa Rica. DO NOT STAY HERE. I am still here now. AND I AM SO UNCOMFORTABLE IT IS ABSOLUTELY HORRID. Unbelievably wild how I've never felt this way, EVER! Oh, also - We are paying for two suites, simultaneously. (which I AM PISSED ABOUT) FIRST: I got locked out of acces to my passport, credit card, debit card and hundreds of dollars the first night I arrived (I'm in the room right now), as their in-suite safe malfuntioned and LOCKED my property within itself. So, I OF COURSE - go to the staff (who showed me during the morning and afternoon that they were kind, contrary to the PM staff and the outrageous yet entitled overnight guards who showed me that they could care less about me, while forgetting hospitality entirely.. The on-site employees NEED TO have emergency-access to any of their guest's property (while offering safe - secure space), and I was informed by the manager upon asking for help at 10:30PM - to WAIT until the morning, in a FOREIGN country, uncomfortable with ZERO help from the staff. It took until 12AM for these unprofessionals to take this seriously. I am paying for TWO ROOMS (TWO SUITES) right now. Tomorrow we will leave. The after-hours accomodations at this place are BELOW DISGUSTING. I picked up a friend in downtown, who needed a place to stay (IN MY HOTEL ROOM) and the security REFUSED to let her in... WTF?!??!?! I pay for a HOTEL / HOME and they treat me like a PSYCH PATIENT! Finally, the management came through after about two hours and helped me get everything out of my safe, though obviously the management had to pull-teeth to help me, their "client?" . HOWEVER THEY CONTINUED TO TREAT ME LIKE A CHILD WHO NEEDS BABYSITTING WHILE I'M PAYING THEIR ASSES THOUSANDS OF US DOLLARS!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!! Continuation... I then went downtown to the area where there are lots of cool people my age, friends and acquaintances being made. I made friends with a nice lady, and after a nice conversation I invited her back to MY ROOM THAT I PAID FOR AND SHOULD BE MY PRIVATE PROPERTY WHILE I AM SIGNED ONTO IT. (*God this is SO BAD)!! I hope the managment leans to put their clients ahead of their arrogant narcissistic tendancies. Their policies allow the team to have "dictatorial power" over the guests within the property. I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO BRING A FRIEND I INVITED BACK TO MY ROOM. SHE WAS DISRESPECTFULLY REMOVED FROM THE PROPERTY by the security guards present tonight. Literally, still in the room with zero help, kindness or respect from anybody from the night / early morning crew.
• Brenda (10/5): - This hotel was excellent in every way. The room was super clean. The room we were in had a small little patio with a couple of chairs. The ocean literally a few feet from the hotel! The pool was clean and really never crowded. Short walk to all the amazing restaurants. The security was great as there was always someone watching what was going on at the property The security people super nice and we felt very safe. The best part of this property is the entire staff, from the front desk people to the housecleaning svc and the people delivering our breakfast each morning. We were greeted everyday by our names! They made an effort to really know who we were! We've never experienced that before. Dejan and Ruby were the best! They were so helpful and super nice. The Costa Rican people are some of the friendliest people we have ever met. We will definitely be back!
• A5943AEhenryc (10/5): A wonderful beach experience - Once again, the Coast was fantastic. This was our eighth year, and it only gets better. Not only is the Coast located right on the Tamarindo beach, but it's the terrific staff that make all the difference. Everybody knows your name and treats you like royalty. the grounds and the rooms (we were in one of the cabinas) are kept immaculate. the complimentary breakfasts are tailored to your choice, excellent, and always on time. We'll be back next year. Can't wait!
• aliceak2016 (10/5): Hidden gem with sweet staff - Best hotel in Tamarindo! Small & chill. Great views from everywhere. Staff is sweet and helpful. Rooms have little kitchenettes. Monkeys climb above in the canopy. Breakfast brought to your room. If you are an espresso person though, try Pandeli across the street. I was also looking at Diria & Suizo. This was hands down the best pick. Suizo is very family oriented so might suit a family better. Don’t miss out on The Coast though.
• testpilot88 (8/5): Pura Vida - Costa Rica never disappoints, always a wonderful place to visit. This is my 8th trip to Costa Rica and this time we stayed here. Overall I would say that this hotel is good. Our room didn't really have much of a view, but the hotel was pretty quiet and clean. Walking distance to the center of town and easy access to the beach. I recommend the food truck park down the way for a place to eat, with all of its variety. We had a nice kitchenette with a sink and fridge that came in handy a couple times during our stay. The only recommendation I would give to the hotel is maybe give a little extra attention to the shower in the room. Some areas in the shower/bathroom looked like it could use some TLC. All in all it was a decent stay for a short trip. We didn't make use of the pool or anything else since we had the ocean.
• Matt (10/5): - Perfect location for access to the lovely beach, local shopping and numerous dining options. The view from our patio was epic and the property is clean, well maintained and the staff was very friendly and happy to help in anyway. Highly recommended! Pura Vida!

• Roger (6/5): OVERRATED - Except for the location and this place being quiet, this place is not worth more than 3 stars. 1st issue why this place can never get more than 3 stars is breakfast, you get choices of bread, yougurt, fruits, cereal and coffee to be delivered to your room at a set time, if that time slot is available, (S.O.L.) There is no restaurant or other meals available. There is no protein like meat or eggs as an option, the fruits i received were a couple over ripen bananas and 2 rotten apples which i took a pic of and showed the front desk, and they had nothing to say... As we were getting ready to check out, they turned off the water without any warning ( no phone in the room either) so as i left my room to go notify the front desk, i saw 2 maintenance men and they advised me it will be turned back on in 10 more mins, so i told them this will delay my ontime checkout at 11am, so please notify the front desk, they said ok. So per the RULES, you have to wash all the dishes you use in the room, so with us just finishing up breakfast @ 9:40, thats when the water was turned off. Now we have to still shower and clean up. Guess what, @ 11:01am someone is knocking on the door to ad vise me checkout is 11am. SMH ! The place was rated highly by previous reviews, that's why i booked, but it's overrated,.not worth the money to me.

They are always looking to keep the facilities on top notch condition! This is our second time there and it won’t be our last! Love the morning and afternoon walks on the beach. I swam in the ocean everyday and loved sitting in the beach front lounge chairs watching the surfing lessons going on next door to us. We thought not having a restaurant there might be difficult but we have discovered 5 restaurants now within easy walking distance. We loved the continental breakfast but if you are a bacon and eggs person, and you are planning a week or more there, you might want to stop in at the grocery store up the street so you can whip up something in your own room periodically.
• W4921UEnancym (10/5): A Little Piece of Paradise - We just finished our 4th visit at The Coast. Every year it draws use back. We do not visit any place more than once except for here. Firstly, the accommodations are clean, spacious, and well equipped for simple meals. A lovely selection of fruit, yogurt, granola, coffee, and breads are delivered to your room each day. The delivery times range from 7 am till 9am, your choice. Secondly, the setting is perfect. It is right on the beach with plenty of loungers. The pool area features a beautiful garden surronding where it is not uncommon to see monkeys. Lastly, the staff are the absolute best. They are very friendly, polite, and professional. If you need anything, they are there to help with a big smile. Always a wonderful stay.
• JONATHAN (10/5): Go for it! - the Villa will not disappoint! YOLO! - Want to feel like the King of the Castle? Book the 'Villa' at Coast Beachfront Hotel! About 1400sf of SWEET beach pad- complete with a full kitchen; 2 master suites; several fans- and an ocean view that's right out back! NICE private balcony overlooking the pool...they even bring you great b'fast every morning- delivered to your big family table on the patio- when you want it! Staff is ULTRA nice- they made it a point to remember all our names by the end of the first day! Full security front and back, and great location central to the town and grocery shopping. The rest of the units are nice, too- but the VILLA is our go-to choice! (and the friendly raccoons; howler monkeys and colorful birds are a welcome treat as you relax on your patio and give Thanks!) TRY THIS PLACE!

• Emily (10/5): - The Coast Beachfront Hotel was a spectacular place to enjoy Tamarindo, CR. From start to finish, everything was well accommodated and communicated. The hotel team were very responsive, and my accommodations for room choice were respected. We stayed in Rm#115 which personally I think was the best room in the resort! Perfect unobstructed view of the pool & the ocean, surrounded by the beautiful flora & animals. We had our own private patio w/ table & chairs, & although they weren’t technically reserved for us there were 2 poolside loungers right in front of our patio so unofficially we claimed them as our own. Our room was large & the layout was great, w/ the kitchen by the front door & a little window, spacious bathroom, & comfy king sized bed. The cleanliness in our room & around the resort grounds were immaculate. The staff worked hard all day to ensure perfection! The resort is not too large so it never felt overwhelming & quite exclusive, this meant the pool & other amenities (surfboard rentals, free boogie board, beachfront loungers) were never crowded or unavailable. The complimentary breakfast included was fresh & you could always ask for more. The kitchen was perfect we were able to make a number of delicious meals! The resort had a communal ice machine & water filter which was so useful. Being oceanfront meant I could surf for hours everyday with the reasonably priced surfboard rentals from the hotel. I felt safe & secure all the time. We would definitely return! TYSM
• Susan (10/5): - It was a gorgeous place to stay for our first time in Costa Rica! The entire staff was amazing! The security guards were awesome! They pointed out monkeys and iguanas for us many times, that we would have missed if it wasn't for them. Breakfast was brought to our room every morning, and it was delicious! If you want a quiet, beautiful, safe place to stay, I highly recommend The Coast Beachfront. If you prefer loud, large crowds, travel east down the beach. If you want to relax, this is the place to stay!

• RochMinnTraveler (10/5): Beachfront Gem - We really enjoyed our stay in our Junior Suite facing the pool. The rooms are clean and perfect with a comfortable king bed and a kitchenette. The staff is so friendly/professional and we loved getting breakfast delivered to our room each morning-fun to sit on our deck to enjoy. The pool had a nice tropical feel to it and we saw iguanas and hummingbirds plus monkeys in nearby trees. The beach is only 45 seconds away and appreciate that is is monitored the entire time by staff so we could leave and walk on beach and not worry. Never had to go early and grab chairs which was a nice relief from other places we stayed. The grounds are kept immaculate. We also liked being a bit off the beaten path but only a 8 minute easy walk to the hub-bub Tamarindo area. We would definitely stay here again and will be back! The restaurant called Sofia right across the street gave us a 10% discount and the food was excellent!

• jisanchez12 (10/5): Two Weeks in Paradise - The Coast Beachfront Hotel is such a beautiful quaint hotel. The gardens and the pool area create an atmosphere that certainly makes you feel like you are in paradise. The beach is steps away. The hotel also provides a private beach area with 24-hour security for its guests with a gorgeous view of the beach and the ocean. The center of Tamarindo, with plenty of shopping and amazing restaurants, is just a short 10-minute easy walk. The staff is second to none. They were cordial, friendly, and professional in all aspects of their respective jobs. Colleges working on the beach area Jesus, Alonso, and Ignacio along with housekeeper Stalia, and reception/concierge Diejan were all very attentive to all of our need and requests. I would definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting this wonderful town of Tamarindo Costa Rica. PURA VIDA!!!

They remembered our names and were so polite with every encounter. Right on the beach just steps from our room. Pool, grounds and beach areas neat and clean and very well maintained Good help setting up tours. Excellent security personnel so we felt safe at all times.

Clean, quiet, convenient location without the tourist crowds, generous continental breakfast delivered to the room, beautiful private beachfront to enjoy in the shade of palm trees. Staff is always helpful but not intrusive. We will definetly stay here again.

Très confortable, petit desjeuners sommaire servi à la chambre. Il nous a été très agréable de desjeuner sur notre balcon. Du surf débutant se fait directement devant l’hôtel (planches de surf en location sur place 10$/3hres). Sinon, 1 km au nord, des vagues offrants plus de défi vous attendent.

Great location on the beach but away from the hustle and bustle of Tamarindo. But if you want anything it’s a short walk to everything, food trucks, etc.

Rosa handled the bookings and she was extremely friendly and helpful with instructions. The hotel is a short walk from the downtown core but far enough to dissuade the street vendors. A first class hotel to lower the sound and turn up the enjoyment.
