• Jane (10/5): All round excellence. - We have just returned from a 2 night stay, the whole experience was wonderful.From being warmly welcomed on arrival, shown to our gorgeous room, provided with numerous extra little touches and obviously the mouth watering breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble, the attention to detail, both in the room and in the communal areas was second to none. The hosts were brilliant,pointing us in the right direction for places to visit,suggestions where to eat and generally to have a good chat putting the world to rights. We will be back.

Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with every detail carefully thought through. Parking was easy and convenient on-site, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring the area, with beautiful walks, cozy pubs, and great attractions just a short drive away. The breakfasts were outstanding, delicious, beautifully prepared, and a real start for the day. We couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommended!

The room was clean the bed comfortable and the shower excellent and easy to use. Well Situated within easy reach of most places you would want to visit including mount Snowdon. Excellent hearty breakfast that will set you up for the day cooked by Rana and brought to your table by Gareth with his excellent dry sense of humour. We hope to return later in the year if that doesn’t happen then we will next year. Thank you Gareth and Rana, we loved our stay.

The hearty breakfast is reason enough to stay in itself, extremely generous and cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our short break and would highly recommend.

Gareth and Rana are wonderful. We felt warmly welcomed from the minute we arrived. We were helped with our bags and treated like royalty. The room was huge and very comfortable, the bathroom was luxurious, the breakfast cooked to order was the best we’ve had in 2 months of travel. Rana and Gareth have the rare gift of knowing when to stay and chat and when to give their guests some space. They have a natural way of recognising the needs of each individual traveller. You are politely asked to wear slippers (which are supplied)throughout the property.Not a problem because you really wouldn't want to tread mud into their immaculate home. Breakfast was amazing.Plenty of choice and willing to change anything you asked for. The bedroom and bathroom are extremely clean. Everything has been well thought out to everyones needs. From the tea and coffee making facilities to the bathroom accessories.Everything is taken care of. In a very good location for traveling to the many attractions Wales has to offer. Highly recommend and hope to visit again in the future.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Mostly positive, some negatives - Lovely couple, wonderful breakfast, gorgeous surroundings. We were made to feel very welcome, but we did not anticipate the owners living at the property and thus having to remove our shoes on entering the house. We thought it was a hotel, which I guess was our mistake. The room was huge and the bed comfortable but the decor was very dated. The bathroom was carpeted which was seriously disgusting as the toilet splashed out when flushed. The shower door was made for a very thin person and I struggled to squeeze through. Great bath though! Room was very hot, even though it was not hot outside. It was very uncomfortably hot in the room, therefore we would not stay again, but there are many positives. The breakfast was divine, but didn't enjoy having to chat with owners and other guests first thing in the morning.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Afon Gwyn Country House or return ourselves in the future.

• Jennifer (10/5): - We spent four nights here because we visited Conway in the summer and decided we wanted to come back to Betws y Coed. Afon Gwyn is a lovely property and we found Gareth and Rana to be very welcoming hosts - nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the Robinson room on the ground floor - good sized with a large comfy bed and a very generous sized en suite. Everything was exceptionally clean, and there was a plentiful supply of teas, biscuits etc which were restocked every day. Breakfast was very good - you order cooked breakfast items the night before, there is plenty of choice as well as a good selection of cereals, yogurt etc. Wi-Fi a bit hit and miss initially (not really a surprise in the country!) but mentioned it to Gareth and he sorted it. All in all, had a very relaxing break, we would definitely stay here again and would also recommend it to others looking to visit the area.

We stayed in the Robinson for 3 nights, which was perfect for our visit. The room was spacious and clean throughout. You order your breakfast the night before, which will not disappoint. Fresh fruit and homemade yoghurt is also made available. It was a great location just on the fringe of Betws Y Coed, it is short walk into the village to find something to eat. • Ann (10/5): Beautiful country house - We had a lovely stay at Afon Gwyn country house, Rani and Gareth were great hosts, the breakfast was good and the room was really comfortable . The garden is lovely and parking was good. Gareth and Rani were really helpful about where to go, and couldn't do enough to make our stay a good one. There's plenty of restaurants in Betsy-coed , I think you do need a car to get in, its not too far but the roads are quite narrow and not really easy to walk, but all in all a lovely stay, and a beautiful property.

We arrived here after 10 nights in 2 different hotels and it was such a relief - best nights sleep we had. Beds are amazing, both mattress and quality bedding. Bathroom was spotless and we were surprised at the amount of toiletries that were provided. We were used to rooms not being cleaned daily due to recent events but not here! A beautiful house, with fantastic hosts and not far from the village. If we are ever in this area again then this is where I'd book - honestly, can't recommend it enough.

• Rachel (10/5): A great stay - Gareth and Rana were both friendly welcoming hosts and happy to oblige with advice on where to go and trips out. The alice suite we stayed in was immaculate and very comfortable, you can see they put effort into attention to detail and keeping the property looking good. Breakfast was great too, we both especially loved the waffles with stewed apple and maple syrup. Would absolutely stay there again, thank you for a lovely stay

• Kay (10/5): - We stayed in Rupert which,like the public areas,was tastefully decorated. The bed was comfortable and there was also a well equipped tea/coffee making facility. The bathroom was spacious with a large shower enclosure. The dining room was light and airy and the ideal setting for a very generous breakfast. Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked with a very good selection of juices,fresh fruit,cereal and yogurt. Our hosts Gareth and Dana were very welcoming and gave us advice on where best to eat and some of the local walks.

• Nigel (10/5): Perfect - From start to finish everything was perfect, Gareth and Rana are so welcoming and friendly, they instantly made us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are lovely and very quiet. The breakfasts were amazing, I had the full hearty breakfast which set me up for the whole day, but there was so much choice, something for everyone. Gareth and Rana are very knowledgable on the area, which is a big help. Sad to leave, but definitely will be back. Nigel and Claire

The waffles by Rana are amazing - my wife was overjoyed when Gareth brought them to the table. Over all a great stay that we were reluctant to leave behind.
