- Francine (8/5): I would stay again and intend to for both work and pleasure- I hope I can book the same room - Everything was excellent and I have recommended to both friends and work. I was travelling early so breakfast was rushed due to the 7.30am opening of the restaurant. Parking was fine for me but I can imagine if there were many guests it could prove difficult.

- Elisabeth (8/5): Beautiful place to stay visiting Birmingham. Would definitely stay there again - Beautiful hotel, lovely decor and very comfortable bed and excellent facilities. Loved the bath in the room, and the finishing touches with lovely soaps and tea and coffee. The adjacent restaurant was brilliant, it was a great setting and excellent food. We had breakfast there as well. The staff were friendly and helpful.

- Chris & Jane (10/5): Delightful discovery - Very well appointed room with a large bed and plenty of space. Good quality furnishings and bathroom products. A comfy communal area with tea, coffee AND fresh milk. The pub/restaurant for dinner and breakfast was amazingly accommodating for our group. Breakfast was substantial, varied and very tasty. Dinner exceeded our expectations. We would stay again without hesitation. There was absolutely zero noise from the road. Buses and trams can be caught within 5 mins walk - the area is very quiet and safe. Parking was easy and plentiful.

Coffee shop opposite and so much nearby - would highly recommend and stay again. Maybe just that my parking ran out and I had to pay to extend it after checkout. Other than that, the property owners were prompt in replying to my query.

- Laryssa (9/5): Great, large room with exceptional amenities and good breakfast. - Room was very clean and spacious with nice standalone bathtub (Room #5). Breakfast menu is great with lots of options, including smoothies for takeaway. Nespresso machine in main lounge and room had it's own coffee and tea station with biscuits & glass bottled water. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was excellent with very solid water pressure. Beautiful property with lots of parking, location central to Edgbaston, Harborne & the University. Pillows are lumpy and very, very soft. Room was very loud facing the street with single pane glass windows...hard to sleep with constant street noise throughout the night. I'd book a room facing the back of the hotel (courtyard). Also, outside, above Room #5, there is a blaring safety light for guests leaving/entering the property that shuts off late at night, and the curtains don't cover it. Didn't appreciate a brightly lit room until 11:00pm or so.

Check in and self access easy The bathroom floor was icy cold and there was a bit of paint peeling in the bathroom where the condensation obviously collects but I appreciate ventilation can be tricky with older buildings and original features.

The TV didn't work at all , & we couldn't see any electrical point to put it on. It was 10pm & the site doesn't have any one to ask . In the morning l asked the housekeeping lady & she didn't know how to do it either. We have stayed 2 times before in a cheaper room with no trouble.

Breakfast at the pub across the way was included and was excellent and way better than expected. Coffee bags were not nice and tv didnt work very well due to poor signal.

- Sarah (10/5): Exceeded my expectations 10/10 to everyone - I was looking for a nice place to stay overnight before a family funeral in the area. This charming hotel had parking arrangements, extremely nice spacious bedrooms and all the facilities you need - including a pub next door where they provide a great dinner option and a beautiful breakfast to set you up for the day. There was nothing we could think of at all that coule be improved, but if I dig deep then maybe a window that could provide fresh air? Although on the ground floor I understand why this wasn't an option

Plenty of space, clean, comfortable beds. Dinner at the next door pub attached to the hotel was also very good. I will be booking this place again in the future when I next come to Birmingham.

- Martin (1/5): Worst experience of staying in any hotel during the past 30 years damp, smelly and disgusting - Great location and looks great from the outside Literally no staff presents whatsoever at 8 pm. No car parking permit available even in the room which was terribly inconvenient. The room was literally so damp that the smell made you gag. The windows on the inside were tripping with water and there was no possible ventilation as windows were all sealed shut. The carpet was damp the bed was damp. The smell was so toxic within half an hour I had to leave and find another hotel worst experience of staying in any hotel during the past 30 years and I stay away at least one night a week.
