- Kiarie (10/5): - We really had a good time, the staff were so welcoming and helpful 😊. The menu should include local food. We wanted to experience the local delicacy...
- Thomas (8/5): - Der Lounge-Bereich. Das Restaurant Verhältnismäßig kleine Zimmer

- Chloe (10/5): Great stay! Book with them! - Stayed one night due to landing the night before my stay at Serval Wildlife. Easy to get to from airport- about an hour away but comfortable taxi ride. Very clean, and felt comfortable and safe. Hot water in shower and good shower pressure. Clean towels - room didn’t get too hot. Very nice decoration in the hotel I liked the jungle look. Good menu selection. Friendly staff. Affordable. Nothing really, pool was closed because of construction but was cool to see the locals work to rebuild it. Highlight of stay was talking with them and learning the backgrounds.

- Jeroen (9/5): Superb - Nice, relaxing atmosphere. Good place to start your trip or to take a moment of rest in the middle of your trip. Green environment, good food and relaxed atmosphere
- Waled (1/5): Bad - The dealings were bad, the rooms were narrow and close together, and the sounds were annoying.
- Sami (9/5): Superb -
- Sachin (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a well managed location, well geared up for Kili climbers, but also a nice relaxing environment. Great for the kids who appreciated the rabbit hutch, and there’s a walk down to a beautiful stretch of the river which we sadly only discovered on the last day - we will come back for that!
- Mbasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anupama (9/5): Superb -
- Cherie (8/5): - Lodge was nice. It’s older but they are doing their very best to maintain. Gardens and trees were mature. Pretty! Monkeys were fun to watch as they played and clambered through the trees. Food was good but limited options. Breakfast that was included was really good! Staff were kind and helpful. Shop was small, some souvenirs. Rooms were clean, some tiny and some much bigger even though we paid same rate 2 different stays (before and after our Kili climb). It met our needs for sure of a quiet place to rest before and after our climb.
- Eminjon (9/5): Lovely stay - We loved the green environment around the hotel with monkeys and nice birds. The pool area is also very nice. The room is clean, good bed and new bathroom. For breakfast, lunch and dinner we could order from the a la carte menu and it was all good quality. The small walk to the river is nice and apparently you can see the Kilimanjaro from there, but it was cloudy when we were there. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We really liked our stay here and would definitely recommend! There was a gross smell in our room coming from the sink. It would have been nice to have a balcony with the room. There is not much in the area (30min drive to Moshi).
The tours they offer (with Altezza travel) are quite expensive. We only used the airport transfer and transfer to Moshi which were both good though.
- Nicholas (9/5): Superb -
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- 00fila (10/5): Great place in a great location - The staff was very friendly and helpful, food was great, pool was beautiful. Clean rooms and comfortable beds.
- 00fila (10/5): Comfortable and welcoming environment - It’s a beautiful tropical paradise
- Upio (8/5): Very good -
- Kate (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff,huge territory,very green.
Mostly for Kilimanjaro climbers
- Sabah (8/5): Very good -
- Lesse (4/5): Disappointing -
- Walter (10/5): Nice place to stay and relax - The location was very relaxing, spacious .... monkies are on site swinging on the trees ... rooms are clean, very functional bathroom....
- Samuel (5/5): Great if you are climbing Kili; LOCAL PEOPLE looking for a short get away, this is NOT the place! - It is a beautiful location. The gardens and the pool are very beautiful. It is a short journey up hill to Machame village, where beautiful views of Kilimanjaro can be seen, weather permitting. The receptionists are friendly, professional and helpful. I didn't like the attitude of some of the waiting staff in particular. They seemed to view us as second class because we were not white tourists. I resent the fact that everything was priced in USD too, but maybe this is my fault for making a bad choice in the first place?!
The breakfast was inconsistent. The first morning was excellent in terms of choice BUT, they need to work out a way to keep things warmer as mornings in Machame are cold!!! The second day did not meet the standards of the first day at all, the bacon was basically red and raw. The fruit on both mornings was not ripe.
The cost, for local guests for dinner or lunch are extortionate and not worth writing about in terms of quality. Luckily we found the Sunset Sports Bar, a bit further down on the main road, where a meal for two, including drinks, cost 12-14,000 TZS as opposed to the 60-70,000 TZS Aishi charge!
I was looking a local, weekend get away and an opportunity to explore somewhere different in my local region. Sadly, this, it was not. Also, considering the prices, the interiors of the place came across to me as tired, dark and outdated!
- Mark (8/5): - Great place to get ready to hike Kili or go on a safari. Not 5 star but pretty nice - decent food, great service and ready to please. Good wifi and hot water! Lots of people going coming from Kili!
- charlotte (10/5): - The garden area felt like a little slice of paradise with bunnies running around freely helping to maintain the grass - as well as donkeys. Monkeys were climbing in the trees, and occasionally a large turtle would cross the lawn. The place itself was very calming and the staff sweet and helpful.
- KMR (8/5): - Very friendly staff. The room and sheets were pleasantly clean.
Buffet breakfast had several options, mainly English breakfast style. I especially enjoyed their yogurt cups and fresh fruit. The avocado sandwich is also tasty. The availability of the buffet seems to depend on the number of guests present at the hotel but you can also choose from their breakfast menu.
They also have lunch and dinner menus.
There are day trip tours that the receptionist(s) is happy to assist you with organising. During my brief stay, I chose to visit Tarangire. Very beautiful place however, the tour was rushed to fit viewing as many animals as possible into approx. 6 hours. So I'd advise asking to extend the trip and spend the night at a hotel near the safari location instead.
Regretted choosing a double bed because the joint down the centre is definitely uncomfortable.
Apparently you can view Mt. Kilimanjaro from the rooftop of the facility however, it always seemed cloudy so I never had the opportunity to marvel from this location.
Unfortunately, I didn't jump into the pool however, I did lounge poolside to catch some warmth for the day as it gets a bit chilly at night.
Generally, it's a great spot for relaxation and escape from city life and thankfully there's WIFI available in most parts of the hotel so you can send and receive emails comfortably (don't expect high speeds for proper streaming of videos, etc.).
- Gustavo (8/5): - Lovely, serene location in a small forest next to a stream on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro. Very good attention and service.
- Darren (8/5): - Well appointed hotel in the Moshi area, with great restaurant and outdoor facilities (pool, patio, etc.). Staff was very quick to tend to guest needs, which was greatly appreciated. The location is relatively remote, which is fine for relaxation. My only concern was there seemed to be many issues with the room locks and keys, had to change my room due to malfunctions.
- Kristina (10/5): Nice stay - Hotel is good for Kilimanjaro travelers. Really nice garden, good food.
- Kemila (10/5): A charm -
The hotel property includes lush tropical gardens with a very nice pool set amongst them. The restaurant overlooks the gardens and it appears most if not all of the rooms do as well. The pool and gardens create a lovely space to chill and relax.
The food and drinks at the restaurant are good and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive.
Our room was a little on the small size. Although a bit cramped with a king bed, the space was manageable. However both the carpet and mattress had seen better days and the in-room safe did not work, likely needing batteries. This was not a problem for us and we did not report it.
The major complaint we have is the lack of adequate mosquito prevention. The rooms lack screens on the windows. Although mosquito nets are provided when requested, the one they gave us did not fit the bed and the hook holding it to the ceiling came out when we tried to stretch the net to cover the bed. There is insect killer spray provided in the room with the expectation that you close all the windows, spray the room thoroughly and leave for ten minutes while it does its job. However there was no instruction stating this and this solution leaves you a chemical laden room with no fresh air with mid twenties temperature during our stay. So I was left with ten mosquito bites across my back when I awoke in the morning.
If the mosquito issue was solved or you are comfortable with the chemical solution, the hotel is good value and a nicely re
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Wonderful location with serene environment just at the bottom of the famous world known Mount Kilimanjaro. It is such a great facility and food prepared well and fresh coffee which made my stay more relaxing.
- Cynthia (10/5): Great location, beautiful place - We had a lovely stay. The food is GREAT, the room rate was quite low compared to other places, and the location, in view of Kilimanjaro, was wonderful. (Check out the rooftop observatory and telescope!) The grounds are beautiful -- lots of flowers and flowering trees -- and the place is in a quiet location. The staff was very responsive to our requests. The pool is SUPER. This is a great place to take a break.
