Guest Reviews
- Lindsay (8/5): Overall other than the lights, a pleasant stopover on my trip. Thank you - The automatic lights in the bathroom turning on in the middle of the night was startling. I couldn’t find a way to turn them off!
- Juliana (6/5): Pleasant enough - Room was big, we actually had a room with an office which was a nice surprise.
The kitchen was good enough for 5 nights, considering we mainly cook while travelling.
I worked from there and the wifi was good enough. Not being allowed to access the balcony was a bit frustrating.
The heating went off and we had to reach out to the owner to have it turned on. We can't control our own heating.
It was clean enough, but definitely could use with a good deep clean.
There were no tupperwares to store food, so we had to leave it in pans or bowls in the fridge.
- Henri (8/5): -
- Kang (9/5): - Lovely accommodation Credit card issued upon booking
- rajeev (6/5): It was okay for one night - The rooms and the space were comfortable and cozy. I’m guessing the building is old timber frame construction and can be a bit too creaky with neighbours walking around. But worst thing was the upstairs person stomping around heavy until way past midnight! It was after 1am and could still sometimes hear heavy footsteps. Didn’t sleep well at all. Also, it’s right on Gerrard Street and the early morning streetcar rumbles right past the house.
Would be better if the room had a kettle and mug of its own, rather than having to go down the stairs.
Don’t think the management should be asking people for high reviews after the stay, not very professional… but they were fine with all other communication surrounding my stay and seemed compassionate about the noise disturbance from upstairs.
- Bryonie (10/5): - easy to locate, close enough to everything without being in a busy area
- Jorge (10/5): - The space and location

- ERIKA (10/5): - Dream Catcher Travel House is a really nice place to stay 😊 You have your own space and privacy and a comfy and well-equipped kitchen to cook your meals. I liked the vibes! And the host is a very kind and friendly person. Absolutely recommended! I will come back 😊
- Figueira (10/5): -
- Cintia (9/5): - Everything was perfect. The owner was communicative, check-in was easy, there was a kitchen to use if needed. The location was very accessible too. We liked almost everything. If I need to say something, maybe the water pressure could have been better, but aside from that everything was great.
- fernando (9/5): - Easy access and privacy The bed or mattress to soft
- Yelyzaveta (10/5): -
- Seibel (10/5): - Great and fast communication. Very clean and organized. Downtown Toronto was easily accessible via public transport
- Caroline (7/5): -
- Suélen Cristiane (10/5): - Ótima localização e estrutura, quarto grande e confortável. Boa estrutura de cozinha compartilhada

- Sara (8/5): Lovely stay for a night in Toronto. - The room is spacious with a decent bathroom. Everything was clean upon arrival. The managers of the property were also helpful and responsive when an issue arose with my booking. There is a large flight of stairs to go up once you enter. This might cause an accessibility issue potentially for others.
- Yash (7/5): -
- adissa (7/5): -
- Pedro (10/5): - The room was very clean and spacious. Super comfortable, and the host was very attentive!
- Antoine (6/5): -
- Oliver (9/5): Very nice room in a lovely guest house - Sizeable room, in what felt like a safe neighbourhood, the bed was comfy, lots of electrical outlets to charge. Bathroom was a good size and had all the correct amenities, near to lots of restaurants on a high street, good public transport linkage, 30 min from Toronto city centre. Wifi dropped out slightly on occasion but other than that a nice experience
- josh (6/5): bed was comfy for me but my partner said she was itchy during the night and couldn't sleep - the location was great! but the bath room needed some renovations. There was a little water damage
- Kim (9/5): -
- Andria (9/5): -
- rebecca (8/5): Highly recommend as a budget - Close to streetcar, easy check-in, quick responses to questions from owner Bed was a bit hard but other than that no issues
- Taciana (8/5): -
- Ahmed (9/5): - Everything is clean and facilitated and organized. Nothing
- Carolina (10/5): - The location
- Libby (6/5): - Convenient location. Close to a streetcar to go right into downtown. Not very clean. The shower was dirty with hair and scum on it as well as some black mould.
- Lars (7/5): -
- Erika (10/5): -
- Hannah (10/5): Fantastic for the price and location, would absolutely stay again. - Easy check in process, great room, very spacious Was unaware of requirement to remove shoes upon entering until after we had booked, that was a little surprising.
- iheb (10/5): -
- Roman (9/5): -
- Marielvic (10/5): Relaxing, clean, all the amenities were there. No complaints! - Loved it! The suite was confortable and clean. The centralized A/C was not a problem for most of my stay but I was a bit cold the first night.
- Bernice (10/5): - Location is great, room is clean and customer service was fast to reply The parking was pretty far but everything was excellent
- CC1000 (7/5): -
- Fayssal (9/5): A good affordable place to stay at if you have a quick trip to Toronto and don’t have the budget to stay at a hotel. -
- Jeewan Babu Rijal (6/5): Good for limited time - It was clean and big shared kitchen but for me, I did not have to cook anything but would be good for aomeone who have to. The mattress was not comfortable and a bit of space was unusable because it was in the top floor, with the slope of the roof.
- María (10/5): -
- Carine (5/5): - The room and the bathroom were clean. It's very close to the center. I was expected a modern guest house but it was old and small.
- Aiza Grace Joy (9/5): Nice place to spend the night in downtown. - The owner was very accommodating and lets you know what to do every step from prebooking to being there.
They were nice enough to get us an upgrade too giving us more room.
If you like asian food, there are lots of asian food around. Too bad we ate already before going. Internet is just lagging but it's not a problem with data on.
- Bigi (6/5): -
- Gittins (10/5): -
- Charles-Olivier (8/5): - Great location nearby a tramway stop, the bed was comfortable and it was clean. Very good for the price! Will rebook on my next trip to Toronto! Nothing
- Jack (10/5): - It was a big place we got upgraded, which was lovely. It was in a nice residential area. The facilities and easy check-in made it a lovely stay. Full kitchen was able to be used which was brilliant. Would recommend for a very chill and relaxing stay. Small bed, wifi cuts in and out a lot. Aircon can’t be controlled and you are either hot or cold.
- S1&K1 (8/5): Great place to stay for a few nights. - The room was a good size. The picture does not show the desk that is also in the room. This was a good addition. There is plenty of storage and hangers. There was a table and 2 chairs in the room that was separate from the bedroom. Small games were in a box, which was a nice touch. We went for the sights, so we did not play these. There was a shared kitchen, but we ate out, so i did not see this to give feedback on. We did not meet the proprietor, but my messaging them was always met with a very quick response. The checking in process was very straightforward. The code to the front door was given the night before. We arrived at Pearson airport and got the UP express train to Union Square. Then the Metro 1 (yellow line) to College station and right outside the station is a streetcar 506 that stops very near the property. It was easy to navigate. Would definitely stay there again. Ideal for a few days stay. We were there for the sights so was not expecting to stay in the room longer than a nights sleep so the facilities were adequate. There was no tv or radio but we knew this before we went and it wasnt a deal breaker. The shower cubical felt small but it did the job. Toiletries were provided in large bottles for future guests as well. The towels had seen better days but again they did the job.
- Hsen (7/5): - I loved the location. It is in a very cool, IMO hip Chinese neighborhood of Toronto with very cute local bars, cafes and restaurants. It was a good commute to the center and a walking distance if you are a good walker while traveling (takes about an hour to go to the city center like Downtown Yonge). The room was okay, it was clean with bathroom in it. It was basic but sufficient. The wifi was wonky all the time, the towels were leaving cottons behind after even a short use.
- Pierre (7/5): - Basic guest house Beds were not great.. Soft and worn out mattresses
- Larissa (4/5): Thankfully we were only there to sleep - which was not very comfortable. - We appreciated the responsiveness of the owner/manager, and the complimentary upgrade to a 'suite'. The price was also pretty good for Toronto. The room was relatively clean. Fast wi-fi. The location of the property was dodgy, the tram was heard through the evening. The entire house (carpeted) smelled of mildew. Towels provided were small and musty. I am not sure the bed (double) had a mattress on it - think it may have been a box spring with a 2" pad. The bed also had a decorative metal frame (with head'board' and foot'board) which is difficult for anyone who is over 5'6". Although the room had an AC it is centrally controlled so we were hot all night. The house is old, in need of a huge renovation. The area has limited dining options (only Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai... one small French bistro), no pubs/bars, and no all-day parking, other than on the street.
- Emmy (7/5): Practical and clean room - The room was clean and the provided instructions to check in were clear.
The location was good because it was right next to a streetcar stop and it made me discover a new neighborhood - Leslieville. The mattress was pretty bad and there was only two tiny windows so it felt a bit stuffy at times. The room was pretty bare but for what I needed it was okay.
- Sebastien (10/5): Great stay - Clean and close enough to downtown (35 mins walk or 15 mins streetcar). I was given the room 201, which was quite large, and the noise from the streetcar wasn't loud at all, just a faint background noise. Towels and hair dryer are provided.
- Chiara (7/5): - The Dream Catcher Travel house is not too far away from downtown, only 30 mins by public transport. We stayed there for 4 nights, we were only coming back to the house to rest, so we didn't manage to use all the facilities available in the kitchen. We were upgraded to a bigger room, which made our stay even more pleasant. The WiFi wasn't working most of the time.
- Bob (6/5): simple, clean, quiet. - it was clean and very quiet. had a great restaurant right next door. very bed was hard. it’s in china town which wasn’t a big deal for us.
- Maddy (8/5): -
- Aiya (7/5): Had everything we needed to sleep for the night. Modern and pristine bathroom. Decent size space. Only problem was the b -
- Jacqueline (9/5): Very good for the price - Lots of space in the room, very quiet, good public transport and the shared kitchen was a real advantage. Good choice of restaurants and shops nearby. Great value for money. Windows need cleaning and quite a way from the central parts of the city.

- Dj Dartfrog (8/5): -
- Khang (10/5): The place is clean and the location is relatively accessible. Definitely a good find. -
- Chernloong (9/5): It's a cozy and comfortable place that I would happily book again. - I highly recommend this room—it's a great value and deserves a top rating. The space is spacious, impeccably clean, and smells wonderful. With the air conditioning working perfectly, it was the ideal retreat from the summer heat. The friendly host also made the stay even more pleasant. The room was great, although the mattress was a bit thin. While I could feel the springs, it was still manageable and I slept well enough.
Though it’s about 38mins to downtown Toronto which is a bit far, it’s still acceptable as the street car is just right in front of the house.
- Philippe (8/5): The Travel House was great for our short stay - Clean, Comfort & very reasonable rate. - The room was very clean and location was good & convenient. The streetcars in Toronto (or trams) gave us a bit of an early morning surprise on our first night — they clearly don’t believe in sleeping in!
- Pastorska (5/5): The place is ok for the value. - The size of the room was good. AC working well. The room is generally clean, however, some areas could benefit from more thorough cleaning. The mattress is uncomfortable with the dip in the center. The stairs are somewhat unsafe, each step has a dip that makes balance difficult, especially going down. Despite the carpet, they feel unstable underfoot. This could be a safety issue especially in the emergency situation.
- Daniel (9/5): It’s a fine place to stay fairly close to downtown Toronto, and not a bsd value for the money. - It’s a pleasant, comfortable space.
- Cailyn (9/5): Superb -
- Mahya (6/5): Pleasant -
- Marcodr64 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dragan (7/5): Good -
- Jacqueline (8/5): Had a pleasant stay. Good value for money. Would book again in future. - The accommodation was quite spacious and clean, bed was very comfortable.
Good WiFi
Location convenient to downtown. Streetcar stop close. The small bathroom could do with a bit of redecoration.
- Marco (1/5): Don’t book this place. Photos and descriptions are misguiding - Nothing. This was the worst property I ever booked. Smelly, old, insanely bad bed, controlling, nothing was good I’d close this place. I felt scammed. Thank goodness I left
- Flores (8/5): Great - I enjoyed my stay; the room was spacious and comfortable, with a suitable area for working. The place was accessible and safe. The internet was pretty bad. It would've been nicer if there was a laundry in the house or at least nearby.
- Kimmy (7/5): Great accommodation, very nice host and quiet neighborhood! - Its near the event place that we were going to, very quiet neighborhood and plenty of asian restaurants nearby and markets & the host is very responsive and they took care of us during our stay. I cant complain as the rent was pretty decent. You get what you pay for as what they say.
- James (7/5): Good -
- Liam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (10/5): Enjoyed a night away to beat morning Toronto traffic. - Easy access. Perfect room for just myself. Bed is comfy. Great closet. Black out curtains. The owner was in great and friendly contact. I’ll be back when I need a room next time.
- Miriam (10/5): Exceeded my expectations - Located in a quiet area, well-connected to public transport. There is a wide variety of restaurants and shops around it.
The owner was very friendly and answered all of our requests, we asked for a bigger room as we had a lot of luggage and they gave it to us. The room and bathroom were clean and so were the other facilities. I would choose it again.
- Rosaanna (8/5): Very good -
