• Maureen (10/5): Cosy, welcoming, comfortable accommodation with private parking right in the centre of Stromness. - Cosy, warm, comfortable, welcoming. The location was ideal - immediately next to all shops, restaurants and the ferry. Spotlessly clean. Plenty of storage for belongings. Everything you ever need was provided. Private parking space was brilliant. Excellent communication with friendly, helpful host. There was nothing not to like about this property. It was excellent.
• Michele (10/5): Fabulous! - An outstanding cosy little cottage right on the quay in Stromness- couldn’t be more handy for the ferry and a great base to explore this beautiful island. The cottage has everything and more that you need and we wouldn’t hesitate to re-book when returning. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
• Gayle (10/5): A perfect place to stay and see the Orkney islands. - This is a real gem, close to ferry, shops and restaurants. Everything you could possibly need for a short or long stay.
• Sheila (8/5): - It was warm and cosy upon arrival. The lounge chairs and beds were super comfy. The location was convenient for ferry and main street.
• Philip (10/5): - This was a pleasant cottage with parking in front. It was nicely decorated and beds were very comfortable.It was five minutes from a co-op food shop which opens seven days a week 7 am to 10 pm. Almost opposite the bus station and a two minute walk to the ferry. Bike hire is available in Stromness. And we had a great day taking the ferry over to hoy, cycling to Rackwick Bay and walking to see the old man of hoy sea stack. The cottage includes a small washing machine which we did use (only once…). The kitchen is adequately stocked are not like some holiday cottages which have cupboards full of stuff you will never use. I stayed with my daughter so there were only two of us, but clearly this could increase to 4 people. With four people, I think the kitchen might prove to be a little cramped at the dining table.

• Laurie (10/5): Perfect stay for a magical spot - The communication with David was fantastic. So great to have the washer for a quick wash of clothes. Amazing location right across from the ferry! We loved Stromness and the place was perfect for warming/cooking up a meal or for keeping some snacks. All the amenities you need. Thanks David. Nothing except could use a blanket for those lovely afternoon naps on the couch.

• Stokesje (8/5): Harbour central - Located right at the ferry wharf it was interesting to watch the activity around the wharf. It was a nice place to wander around Stromness and Stromness was a great base for the island. We arrived to a warm inviting place on a very cold day, the lights and heating had been left on for us. Kitchen is equipped with everything we needed. Off-street parking. The washing machine wasn't working, which was a bit of a nuisance.

• Debra (10/5): Lovely stay in Stromness at Harbor Cottage - We had a lovely stay at Harbor Cottage. On the harbor just off the ferry exit. Communication was great & we accessed the cottage easily. Everything was clean & comfy. Even had Sky TV which can be rare. Kitchen had most everything you could need. Only issue was the slats on both beds kept falling.

• Riona (10/5): Wonderful location for a holiday on Orkney. - The property was perfect for our requirements as it was just opposite the ferry terminal and close to town centre. It was very well appointed and the beds were exceedingly comfortable with good quality bed linen and pillows. In fact, everything was of good quality. David was very helpful before we arrived and during our stay and it was a bonus that the cottage was ready for us when we came off the ferry. We loved Orkney and would like to visit again and the only place we will want to stay in is Harbour Cottage. Nothing,

• Janice (9/5): We immediately felt “at home”in Harbour Cottage”. Perfect location in the lovely wee town of Stromn - Location could not have better- a few yards from the ferry terminal and looking onto the harbour. The cottage was very clean(top marks to cleaning staff),welcoming and comfortable,and was equipped with just about everything you could need. This includes a plentiful supply of toilet roll and kitchen paper. A welcome touch was the provision of a few tea bags,coffee sachets etc.for that first cuppa on arrival. Cannot fault the place!

• Paige (6/5): Accessibility is an issue - Harbor cottage is a cute place in an excellent location near the ferry terminal in Stromness. And with several restaurants nearby, and even a fishmarket within walking distance, you have a variety of meals to choose from the one downside we struggled with was accessibility. We were not able to take our luggage upstairs, because of the very narrow steep staircase. The furniture was placed in such a way. It was difficult to move throughout the downstairs. If you have any mobility problems, you might consider a different location.

Good kitchen facilities Warm in very cold windy weather. A great location for exploring Mainland Orkney. Would have been good to have recycling facilities.

• Fiona (10/5): Harbour cottage hideaway - Lovely welcome,cosy and easy accessed.Met the landlord as we were early very helpful.Quiet location which was a surprise as the cottage is next to the ferry port.We could only stay for three nights,which was a shame,would be very happy to stay longer.We did not cook in the house this time,but seemed very equipped to handle any food prep ,lovely butcher and fresh fish available locally.
• Mary (10/5): Harbor Cottage is great! - We stayed at Harbor Cottage for 3 nights and had a great stay. It was comfortable and in an awesome location right across from the ferry harbor. Two things that I appreciated in particular were the convenient lights for reading and the abundance of electric outlets, Needing outlets for hair dryer, curling iron, heating pad, and all the devices needing recharged was no problem here! The place was clean and cozy and the kitchen well-equipped for our needs. You can't go wrong staying at this cute, two-story cottage.
