Guest Reviews
- Paul (10/5): - Basic, it is not a resort but everything you need - beach, fridge, fan, shower. Kitchen/lounge area comfortable.
Turn down the drive between the Bahai and next church).
Hope to go back as great place.
- Roch (8/5): - Very tidy, everything you need. Very private, it's your iwn bungalow. Sure there are others around but still quite private. It is literally on the beach!! 10-20 metre walk! Can't beat it!
It is older, the bed is very soft. No TV, I didn't mind that at all! I actually appreciated that fact. No WiFi, again, I appreciated that.
- Ann (10/5): - loved overlooking the beach views. easy walking distance to markets and shops.
- Denny (10/5): - Loved this property with a deck, and right on the beach. Very friendly hosts. Deck caiirs and complementary kayaks were a bonus. Very private offcroad property. Great value for money and walking dustance to a choice of eateries ❤️
- Quinn (10/5): - I had a wonderful few days sitting on the balcony watching the ocean and listening to the waves on the reef. Thank you :)
- Sharon Jocelyn (8/5): - The property is dated. The Villa was clean and had all the basics that you need for your stay. I couldn't see where the laundry was so I washed by hand. When I eventually got in contact with the owner, she was very pleasant and accommodating.
- William (10/5): - While the bungalow was basic, it was a seperate cottage, large and very comfortable and our verandah was just 15 meters across the beach to the beautiful lagoon.
Were a retired couple and it was perfect for us as we did not want to stay at a crowded impersonal resort.
I loved using the kayak to go out into the lagoon and around the small island that is part of the lagoon.
I wish I had taken a mask and flippers to swim in the lagoon and see the many turtles that live there.
- Emily (10/5): - I loved our stay - we took the kayaks out to the islands around the lagoon.
- Bryan (8/5): - The property is exactly as it said on the box! It is a comfortable basic accomadation right on the beach front. Communication was a bit ropey initially but this was due to internet connection issues (which we are also currently dealing with!). Once the issues were fixed the communcation was awesome. My only negative comment would be that there is no road sign for the property and it took a while to find it. It is on google maps but there are a number of small driveways in the area and we did enter the odd wrong one. All in all, a nice place to stay.
- Colleen Van (10/5): - Great little property right by the beach - easy place to wind down and relax
- Charlie (10/5): - Amazing lagoon-front location at 1/10 the price of others on Muri beach. Free kayaks, good dining close by, and really friendly owners.
- Laura (8/5): - A basic hideaway on a beautiful beach, fabulous location.
If not expecting anything flash, this is for you.
Get to experience waking with Roosters and barking dogs at times, but all part of Rarotonga experience.
Feel like a local. Kitchen pots pans could be renewed.
- Russell (10/5): Nice peaceful spot with a great outlook - Great spot with a great view. Would stay here again next trip,
- Melissa (8/5): On the beach, but tired but good - Anna was very good host, it was difficult to get in touch with due to issues with mobile phones and Wi-Fi in CI. Place had been closed due to COVID so needs a big clean/overhaul… but they are doing great job- fresh fruit and fluffy towels!
- Ben (10/5): - Amazing location right on the beach and very lovely hosts.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location, really nice and quiet location. Really good communication.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A great spot right on the beach and only a short walk to the night market and shops.
- Liudmila (10/5): - It is absolutely nice place to stay in Thianas Beach . the only thing is to take a flashlight with you for evening movement, a certain part of the central road without lighting, so as not to miss your turn to the bungalow
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Tianas has to be in one of the most amazing spots on the island, the sea views are amazing and although the accommodation is a little rustic it is still well worth lowering your expectations to experience the piece and tranquility of this spot.
- Peter (10/5): Great find - Tiana's beach was wonderful. Simple, clean and spacious right on the lagoon. The bed was comfortable and the location worked out beautifully
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Wonderful location. Friendly staff. Rather run down
- Verified traveler (8/5): - property was right on beach, it was like a basic batch. Location was excellent. Laundry facilities were minimal and would have benefited from microwave
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We arrived at the property at night and I was pleasantly surprised - an incredible beachfront location just a short walk from central Muri and the bungalow looked really cute, a good size and quite private. However in the morning our view quickly changed as we realised it desperately needs air conditioning, the bed is old and needs replacing and the whole unit needs a good deep clean and some investment put into upgrading the furniture, mosquito nets, and shower. Unfortunately during our stay we experienced swarms of flies, dirty sheets and a gas leak in the oven. We decided to leave 5 nights early even though our booking was non-refundable. If this property has a renovation I would 100% recommend it, but not in its current state.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Positives:
- The location is very special.
- The value for money is extraordinarily good.
- The ower-operators are a local family.
- We were allowed a free late check out. (Wow).
Negatives:
- The showers were warm, not hot.
- The bed was OK, not great.
Interesting:
- The owners seem to be doing up the units.
- There has been a semi-recent change in who is running the property, within the same family, so this property could be 'on the move'.
- This is not 5 star accommodation, so do not expect the same level of service you would get in a hotel. There is no 'reception'. However, the deal we got was amazing value, it would seem that a 5 star, in the same location, costs 5 times as much or more.
Big Thanks to Anna & her family.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The best thing about this property is the location and view. The decor is old and tired and while it has a good deck it is very dark and the outdoor furnture of two cheap old plastic chairs and an old table was awful
- Wenz63 (8/5): - Fabulous location right on the beach
Close walk to Sailing club/night markets/bike rentals/shop/cafe
Beach loungers/kayaks in poor condition
- Adrian (10/5): Private bungalow on the beach - Great bungalow right on the beach just up the road from Miri beach lagoon where there are range of restaurants coffee shops
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I would come again. Thanks for a lovely stay!
- Katarina (10/5): - I liked that it was right on the beach and the price was affordable yet I had access to all the facilities. Thank you
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Awesome location, right near Muri beach. Very comfortable accommodation with fans, a full fridge, stove and room to relax. You have a deck which you can sit on overlooking the beach and hang clothes up. Friendly, helpful staff. Got in touch with me about arranging a shuttle before I left home and helped me sort one for my departure. Nice high ceilings too. Chilled out accommodation at a good price.
- Delwyn (8/5): - This was nicer than we expected by some of the reviews. It was a short walk along the beach to nice hotels, restaurants to eat and drink at, as well as Muri village with the night markets, lagoon cruises and rental cars and shops. The only thing it was missing was an air conditioner, but there was usually a breeze so with flyscreens over the windows and a large ceiling fan it was fine.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great little spot directly at the beach. Kanu's need a bit of TLC though.
- Fiona (10/5): Slice of paradise! - Absolutely beautiful spot! I really enjoyed the privacy and tranquility compared with a resort. However, the resorts and Muri village area are so close by there were lots of great places in walking distance.
The accommodation is pretty simple but very clean and comfortable.
- Alex (6/5): Beautiful beachfront location, relaxed bach feel. - Couldn't beat the location of these villas, just a step off the verandah onto the beach. The villa was supplied with everything we needed to be self sufficient with cooking etc. Only issue was trying to track down the owners as there is no reception area on site and they don't live at the house located next to the villas. A sign was left at our front door when we arrived around 4pm so we could locate our villa. When our gas for cooking/hot water ran out we had to track someone down on a local phone number which is costly if you don't have a local phone. When we did finally talk to someone, the response was very prompt. The villas would benefit from some sort of welcome pack with basic information of who to contact etc. Otherwise great stay thanks!
- Terry (6/5): Perfect location in paradise - shame about the bun - This was a basic bungalow, which is what we were expecting, and I havecommented with this in mind. Facilities in it were generally good - a full cooker and full sized fridge were great! The shower was a good size, but we had difficulty getting water above luke-warm (maybe solar heated?). The location is perfect - right on the south end of Muri Beach, with the Nautilus Report a short walk down the beach (Happy Hour's 5 to 6).
But the things that let it down are
- dark bungalow. Ask for bungalow 7, if going for the basic - it has a much more open balcony)
- tatty furniture, and especially on the deck (was loathe to even sit on the chairs)
- no drawers for putting clothes in, and an open hanging clothes rail so you have to live out of the suitcase
- Grubby bedspread and bathmat - very offputting
- no additional blanket or sheet for cooler nights
- $80 cleaning charge for them to clean a room that wasn't that clean in the first place! (I would have preferred to clean it myself and left it in a better condition!)
- Nina (8/5): Absolute beachfront - We had a wonderful time at Taina's Beach. It was very close to all the action in Muri but far enough away to have a very quiet beach in front of us. The snorkeling is excellent straight out in front of the unit.
- Sergey (6/5): Nice location, great view. Terrible communication. - After check in we realise as stove not working and call to manager Anna. On my request to fix stove she start yelling, Few day later they replace stove to something from rubbish bin however it was working.
After few day broke down shower we reported immediately and they fixed it in 4 days.
Wen we returned to home I received email from property manager as we need to pay extra for cleaning, but we did'n ordered any additional cleaning, and for 2 weeks we clean up our room ourself.
- Dom (10/5): Great Unit, all what you need in an awesome spot - We were coming from another place so we had to check out early, but we were allowed to check in early as well, which was very convenient. The unit is right on the beach, by the beautiful lagoon, at the end of the village. It is at the end of a driveway and very quiet. Even the roosters were quite quiet! There is a few people walking on the beach, passing in front of the unit, but that was not inconvenient at all. (Just say hi!)
Very clean, with a big fridge and very nice sheets. Towels and soaps are provided. The deck/balcony was a bit dark because of the building orientation and it is shelted by trees, but I guess in the hot weather it is appreciable, it is pretty spacious. Having access to free kayaks was such a bonus, we went around the little island by night, great fun!. On the other hand the $80.00 for cleaning felt a bit too much.
It is close to the village. Overall we highly recommend this place and we will come back. We even managed to kitesurf right in front of the units, but it was tricky as there is a lot of coral and no much beach to lounge/land the kites.
- Selma (8/5): Tiana's Beach - Well positioned close to Muri Beach and night markets with beach right in front of the bungalow. Basic but comfortable and suited our needs. Lovely owners and cleaning lady.
- Kim (10/5): - Incredible home right on the beach. The cottage had everything we needed including filtered water, laundry, kayaks. Being able to sit on the deck and be steps away from the lagoon was amazing. The cottage is simple, no tv, no air conditioning but has ceiling fans and screened windows.
- John (8/5): Basic Bungalow right on the Muri Lagoon - We had a great stay at Tianas beach, the bungalow is basic and clean, wonderful location on the beach.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Ideal location for this self contained bungalow style accommodation
Great view
Relax and easy going
Highly recommanded if you are planning to spend time exploring the wonders or Rarotonga and yet have a nice and convenient place to stay in.
- hannah (10/5): Epic - everything about Tianas beach was just perfect for what we wanted from our holiday. Great location, super close to cafes and rental shops (scooters, snorkeling gear, sup boards) in Muri and the Muri night markets. Epic snorkeling spot within steps from the deck but also close to fruits of Rarotonga for a change in scenery. Lovely and clean, well serviced every couple of days. We will be back.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful stay - The bungalow is well-appointed and spacious, with an amazing location right on Muri Beach. Mornings on the deck were comfortable and relaxing, and the full kitchen was appreciated. Very comfortable bed too. Would definitely return.
- Karla (10/5): Great little bungalow right on the beach - Excellent place! Very good value for the price. Bungalow was super cute and in a perfect location, right on the beach. Staff helpful, very easy check in. Would totally stay again!
- Margaret (10/5): Superb location, quiet but close to everything - Fantastic friendly owner and staff.
Incredible location, just a few meters from our balcony to the water. Lots of kayaks available for exploring the lagoon and it's beautiful islands.
Easy beach walk of about 5 minutes to Muri shops, cafe's, restaurants & night market.
Our villa had everything we needed, a nice big fridge, full oven and gas hobs for cooking, fresh fruit and cold water waiting for us on our arrival.
Thank you Jeff.
Just a perfect stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice motel right on the beach - Great if your traveling alone, great location. Close to everything you need and a lot of activitys no need to travel to far
