• James (5/5): Was ok stayed in better express holiday inn - Friendly staff Rooms where nice but the carpets are tired The breakfast no beans scrambled egg was vile run out off croissants

• Richard (10/5): Highly enjoyable - Staff are always friendly and welcoming especially Michael. Always goes that extra mile. Nothing is too much trouble. Especially like the fact that they employ a chef and the menu is delicious and reasonable prices for an hotel menu. Have stayed at a lot of Holiday Inn Express's all over the UK and the Wigan one is by far the best. No issues

Room was spot on, location ideal for us and plenty of parking as we come to and from where we need to go. Breakfast is also decent. Not much, if I had to say something then the scrambled eggs are a bit dry

Friendly and accommodating from the time we arrived. Big thank you Megan and Mickael making it such a lovely stay. The car park, but in its favour it was free.

• 702amandam (8/5): Stopover going North - This hotel was a little bit off the beaten track (from the motorway). There are no external facilities nearby so you are restricted to the food in the hotel, which is basic. That said, the staff were warm and welcoming, the room was clean and it filled our need. For those travelling with EV’s, there are adequate chargers available but beware, the advertised package discount and £25 food allowance is only for the main booker

The shower mat really grubby, preferred not to get in. Black marks all over walls In the room. No soft pillows to choose from as described.

Turned out to be a very good decision- good size room, friendly staff, great breakfast selection and very good value for money. The location wasn’t the best but I would certainly stay there again. Location not the best - seemed quite an industrial area

• Falklands67 (10/5): A great Hotel to Stay - Another lovely stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Wigan. Went from the Falkland Islands medical to have a knee replacement at Wrightington Hospital. Arrived at the end of January 2926 and departed on the 01 April. A great place to stay, my husband and I were made so welcome by everyone. Lovely clean Hotel with lovely food and Staff. They couldn't do enough for us, this is my third stay there over seven years and each time has been wonderful. Have made some lovely friends. Thank you each and everyone of you for all you done for us. We will be back, all the best Josie and Rocky.

• Mike (9/5): A good stopover for travelling north/south - Convenient location for the purpose of our stay Not really a dislike or grumble but there happened to be a junior football team staying. They were well managed but were at times quite noisy. This would not stop me staying there again though, as the staff were very helpful and they serve a good breakfast.
