Guest Reviews
- David (8/5): - Great breakfast. Friendly hosts
- tom (10/5): - Amazing location and bed and breakfast. The room was beautiful and included a bath. The morning breakfasts were delicious and served in an open dining room with large windows to view the outside river bank. The house is roughly 2 miles away from the Falls - and a direct shot along the riverbank sidewalk. Rooms are all on the 2nd floor - so you will need to get any luggage up the stairs (Ted the propriator will take care of that.) Everyone was friendly and the place was extremely clean. No need to search further if you are looking for a BnB. This one is great value and run by a nice couple that made us feel right at home. Highly recommended.
- Ellen (10/5): - Ted and Wei were the consummate hosts! It was an absolute treat to stay at Butterfly Manor - clean, quiet, and spacious rooms with a lovely handmade complete breakfast served each morning. We felt right at home and loved how convenient the location was to public transportation via Wego.
- Paula (10/5): - There are no words for this place, but amazing! My boyfriend and I traveled to Canada.
Canada.
For the Niagara Falls. We were treated like a king and Queen at this establishment by the owners. They are dremarkable hosts, and you will not be ddisappointed!establoers
- Gareth (10/5): - Butterfly Manor is a fantastic B&B and I would definitely recommend staying here when in Niagara Falls. It is very close to the train station, which was convenient as I caught the train from Toronto one morning and then back the next day.
Ted, Wei, Salam, and all the staff were absolutely lovely. They were all so friendly and gave me plenty of tips as to how best enjoy my stay in Niagara Falls.
The room was nice - plenty of space, with a very comfortable bed.
To get to the main falls is a downhill walk of about 2km along River Road where you get some great views of the US side and the start of the falls. Walking back uphill is a bit more tiring, but I'm sure there are plenty of transport options.
- Delaine (10/5): - Good
- Udayan (10/5): - Very friendly owners and good location for the bus that takes you around Niagara falls as part of the Niagra pass
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hostelers are super nice, breakfast delicious and quiet place to stay
- Kevin (10/5): - This is a very well kept Bed and Breakfast. Ted would go out of his way to do anything you needed. He even offered rides downtown. We used the bus stop only half a block away which was very convenient. Breakfast was amazing, cooked to our liking, with plenty of fresh fruit. Everything was very very clean and you felt like a guest in his home. We would stay again when we return.
- Nithya (10/5): - Very clean property, excellent hosts and comfortable stay! The owners were very considerate of our stay, made an amazing breakfast the following morning! Property is so close to the falls area, highly recommend this stay !
- dylan (10/5): - This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and I had an amazing experience. I was able to check in early and even got my room upgraded for free. Everyone was very friendly and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend staying here it is right next to the bus stop but also not to far to walk.
- Eleanor (8/5): - excellent breakfasts
Friendly hosts
- Rajh (10/5): - Excellent B&B. You get your money's worth compared to other similarly priced motels. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was good! Will definitely stay here again.
- Robert (10/5): - We tried it as a less expensive alternative to the chain hotels and were very pleased to get a full breakfast as well. Our hosts were pleasant with an "If you need anything, just ask" attitude. Our suitcase was carried up to and down from our room. I was impressed with the efficient room layouts either side of the upstairs central hall ending in an alternative emergency exit to an outside steel stairway. It was clearly intended as a B&B from construction with each pair of bedrooms probably separated by the two associated roughly 5 x 9 foot bathrooms with single piece floor to ceiling tub/showers installed before the walls. The shower had a generous, unrestricted flow superior to any I've encountered elsewhere or even at home - a small luxury. The room was not large but had a king size bed, two upholstered chairs, two side tables with lamps, a table with tea pot & coffee maker, wall mounted TV & a tiny refrigerator.
Breakfast was served at our pre-requested time in the downstairs dining and kitchen area on one of three small tables. We had been asked about any special dietary needs at check in. It seems to typically be eggs, bacon, toast & sliced fruit on the plate plus coffee/tea, juice, yogurt and perhaps a croissant or waffle. We noted the gold handled silverware and gold rimmed plates and cups as a definite upgrade from typical chain hotel plastic ware. At each guest check out both of our hosts went to the door to say good bye as you would with your own guests.
- Jodi (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious and pleantiful. Host and hostess were gracious. Room was lovely and had lots of immenties. We would come here again.
- SallyAnn (10/5): - My husband and I absolutely loved our stay at Butterfly Manor and we highly recommend staying here! The owners were extremely nice and accommodating. The rooms were very clean, the bathrooms huge, and the decor really cute. One of the cleanest hotels I’ve stayed at. Breakfast was really good and fresh- homemade eggs and bacon, toast, fruit, yogurt. Close proximity to the falls.
- Betsy (10/5): - We had a very good breakfast and the owners were so kind. Treated us like family.
- Annika (10/5): - Excellent b&b all around. Very clean and orderly, friendly and accessible owner, breakfast was excellent (eggs, bacon, sausage, fruits, toast, yogurt, etc. etc.), had parking and was in-between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake so easy to check out both places.
- Maxim (10/5): - It’s a very good place. Highly recommended!!!
- Laurie (10/5): - Ted and Wei were gracious hosts and their bed and breakfast was so beautiful’ we would definitely stay here again!
And to end off a beautiful weekend we were greeted by butterflies on our way out!
…
- Joy (10/5): - The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was good but could be a bit more imaginative. The room was nice. Everything was extremely clean. The room could use more outlets for electronics, but otherwise was very comfortable. Great location to see the falls and for cycling.
- Samuel (10/5): - Ted and his wife were extremely sweet and attentive to all our needs. They are very good people it felt like home. You can ask for anything you want or need and they are always accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Niagara Falls.
- Agnieszka (10/5): - We stayed for two nights at Butterfly Manor Bed and Breakfast and we highly recommend this place.
Definitely we will come back again!
- Kimberly (10/5): First timers to Canada - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This was our first time visiting Canada and we couldn’t have felt more welcomed. The hosts were so nice and gave suggestions of places to go. Breakfast was delicious and filling with a nice variety of foods. The place was clean and felt safe. If we return to the area we will definitely stay here again!
- Virginia (10/5): - Wonderful location excellent service very clean and personable. Hats off to this B and B. Would recommend this location to anyone visiting Niagara Falls.
- Naomi (8/5): - When we arrived our room got upgraded which was nice. Staff and owner were very nice. A little outdated but cozy feel. I wish we were able to control the AC more. Overall excellent stay with a nice breakfast. I would recommend and definitely return!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay for a weekend getaway! - We had a comfortable, great stay at this cozy bnb. The room was clean and the breakfast was excellent and very thoughtful. The owner was especially kind, friendly and so accomodating. Thank you for the lovely stay, we'd recommend to anyone staying in the area and we hope to be back again soon!
- Justin (10/5): - We liked the location. It was very walkable to the falls. With the WeGo bus stop right down the road. It was quiet and the breakfast was wonderful.
- Maria (10/5): Excellent service - We had a lovely stay at Butterfly Manor. The whole place was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We were upgraded to a beautiful family room which was very spacious. Breakfast was excellent and the hosts were such nice people really helpful, attentive and welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel.
- Julie (10/5): - Clean and welcoming property. The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Breakfast is made by the plate for you. Food is hot and delicious. The owners also asks if there are any dietary restrictions to ensure the best meal possible. This was our first time staying here and will stay again.
- thomas (10/5): all excellent - this was a great stay in an extremely friendly place, where everything was well-organized in all details. Will certainly book again.
- Man Pok (10/5): - We stayed at Butterfly Manor Bed & Breakfast for a night for a wedding in Niagara On The Lake. It was very clean and the bed was comfy and we had a good breakfast as well. It was walkable distance to the Niagara Falls and VIA rail station, also there were plenty parking space. The owners were very welcoming and accommodative. The place was very homey and we will go back there next time.
- Diana (10/5): - This was our first stayed in a BnB and my wife and I loved it. Ted is a great host and cook. He cooked a delicious breakfast with Bacon, eggs, toast, fresh fruit and sausages. Ted's home is very inviting and clean. We stayed in the King suite, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great. Easy to get to the falls and entertainment. We will definitely try another BnB in the future. THANKS TED!!
- Barry (10/5): - Very cozy place to enjoy Niagara.
Lovely couple managing the B & B and will go out of their way to please you.
Delightful cooked breakfast and no shortage of food.
Free parking and only a 20-30 mins pleasant walk to the Falls.
Parking at the Falls is $11 per half hour!
Great place to stay and say hi to little Eric.
- Katia (10/5): - I like it. Very clean. The owner was very accommodating.
- Christine (10/5): - The hosts are such lovely, friendly people. We received a warm welcome and got a free upgrade to a king size bed room. The place was spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated.
The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We will definitely stay there again in the future. Very happy!
- Danielle (8/5): - The staff and property were lovely. The bed was s little hard for me but honestly, it was a great option. Very close to the falls. Breakfast was delicious and generous
- Gabriella (10/5): Great clean and comfortable stay! - We booked a room at this B&B at about 7:45pm the same night we planned to stay after driving into the country spontaneously from the US.
When we arrived, we greeted extremely quickly, and because there was an extra room available the host very kindly upgraded us to a room with a larger bed on the second floor vs the first floor.
It was extremely clean, and the room was comfortable. The hosts are an extremely kind and helpful couple and they were super generous and friendly.
The breakfast in the morning was great—coffee, juice, eggs, toast, yogurt, fruit, bacon. The hosts were also very kind in making sure we had enough to eat, offering us more food more than once even though what they provided was already generous and very tasty.
They offer free parking on site and are an easy walk from the falls and the rest of the touristy sites in the city.
Overall, we had a great stay here and would happily stay again. For our lack of planning we were so happy to have been able to stay here.
- Robert (10/5): - My partner and I stayed for one night, a find made on short notice just before crossing into Canada. Location is excellent, the hosts are gracious and helpful. Room and common areas are so clean and charming. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We enjoyed our stay very much and would come back next time we hop the border to stay in Niagara Falls area.
- Dana (10/5): - It was my first time staying at a bed and Breakfast so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The owner greeted us at the door but didn’t speak any English It was ok because we communicated through a translation app on her phone. The place was super cute and clean breakfast was ready promptly at 7:30 like we asked. It was a fantastic breakfast We wished we stayed here another night instead of wasting $300 at the Hilton the next night.
- venki (10/5): Great Breakfast and Service - It was a good stay and host was warm and welcoming! Nice location if you have a car of your own! Great Breakfast and Service.
- Erik (10/5): - This Bed & Breakfast is very close to the Falls itself, just a very short drive. The owners are very nice and very helpfull
The room was very pleasant and clean. Will definitely book here again.
Nothing negative
- Aylin (8/5): - We had a comfortable, one night stay.
We arrived late at night and were greeted by the owner who walked us to our room on the second floor. He was courteous and kind, and upgraded us to a king room for the night which was a nice surprise.
Room had the basic amenities you need, like a small fridge, coffee maker… it just was a little too crammed with a large closet, two chairs and a ‘too large for that space’ kind of a desk. For one night, we did not worry about it.
The bathroom and shower was clean but did not have enough counter space- again, for one night, it was fine.
Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. We were facing the parking so didn’t have much of a view.
Room rate included plated American breakfast, which was served in an open space on the ground level; it was prepared by the owner and was good (had a vegetarian option, which was great).
Overall, we had a good stay.
- Daniel (10/5): A wonderful experience! - We stayed here for an anniversary getaway, and it was wonderful. Ted and his wife are great hosts. The place is very clean and beautifully decorated inside and out with a butterfly theme. The room was spacious with a coffee maker, refrigerator and tv. The breakfast was fantastic. The location is perfect as it is close to the attractions, but not in the busyness of the tourist area. We would definitely recommend staying here.
- Olga (10/5): Great vacation getaway place - It was a last minute trip and I was happy with this choice. Beautifully decorated and very clean. The room was good size with comfortable bed, flat-screen TV and large bathroom. On-site parking. Although we didn't give any head-ups about our dietary preferences (vegan), the hosts were very accommodating with our breakfast. Highly recommend this place and will stay here again.
- Olivia (10/5): - First of all, Ted was amazing, he was so accommodating and gave us information about the area. The rooms were so clean and so nice. My boyfriend and I have never stayed at a bed and breakfast before but this place set our standards high! Breakfast was delicious and overall the place was beautiful. Very close to the falls and Clifton hill. This place is a must stay if you’re looking for a place to stay in Niagara that isn’t those crazy hotels. Thanks Ted!
- Arvin (10/5): - The breakfast was by far the best
- Sheila (10/5): - The host’s Ted and Wei were great very helpful in every way from checkin to leaving rooms were big very clean anything we needed they were there to help would recommend Butterfly Manor every time. Chris and Fiona
- Harry (10/5): - excellant service and cleanliness. Ted is a great host and cares about his guests having a good experience. Would definitely go back!
- Dylan (10/5): - Very beautiful place. Ted was very accommodating and 10 out of 10 would recommend
- Just (10/5): - Absolutely loved how quiet and clean the Butterfly Manor was. Breakfast was wonderful and had a charming view overlooking the gorge. Truly made our little getaway special with the comfort of a home away from home.
- Phil (10/5): - The hosts were accomodating and very nice. The room was clean, private and there was a lot of room. The breakfast tasted great with lots of variety! Will definitely come again next time I stay in Niagara.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service and location. We enjoyed the view during having the delicious breakfast. Only 20 minutes walking to the falls. It would be the better if there is a desk in the room.
- Igor (10/5): Wonderful hosts - Wonderful hosts who made our anniversary special, with extraordinary kindness. A pleasant short stroll away from the Falls and the main strip. Will definitely be returning!
- Anna (10/5): - Beautiful homes and family. Can’t say enough about our stay. If we are every up in Niagara Falls, we would definitely book at Butterfly Manor B&B. Free bus shuttle just down the street form Butterfly Manor.
- JA (10/5): - I liked it. I cannot think of anything I didn't like.
- Chris (10/5): - Loved everything about location and owners of property
- Gary (10/5): - Such very friendly staff. Nothing was too much bother for them. Clean and quiet rooms. Exquisite little boutique B&B within a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive of the Falls. I will always stay here; once you’ve found a wonderful accommodation option why look for something better
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The owners were warm and welcoming to us travelers. We had a lovely room as promised, after a day at the Falls. They were especially considerate about breakfast preferences, and a delicious hearty breakfast provided. Cozy, comfortable, would recommend and return again! A+
- Verified traveler (8/5): Would come back again gladly - Lovely hosts, very friendly. House is very clean and neat. Breakfasts were made partly to order, some of us are vegetarian and we’re given healthy alternatives all done with a smile.
One tiny suggestion would be to fix the door to one of the downstairs rooms to close flush w the wall for better sound proofing.
- Thomas (10/5): Happy - Friendly owners and very clean
- Soyeon (10/5): - The breakfast was great. Wifi worked great. I liked the slippers they provided. Very clean and spacious.
- Andrii (10/5): - Very pleasant experience. Hosts are amazing. Breakfast is super tasty.
- Anonymous (8/5): - Friendly hosts, convenient location. Comfortable beds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Host is excellent and brrakfast is good. Very clean and spaciaous rooms
- blair (10/5): - Peter was amazing! The breakfast he cooked was delicious and we felt right at home! Would definitely stay here again!
- Barbara M. (6/5): Keep Looking - No room service of any kind, must ask for clean towels. Breakfast ok not great, broke. TV in friends room. Good location, nice owner. Front door left wide open with no employees near by. We would not return or recommend.
- Tammy (10/5): Awesome stay - Very clean and nice place to stay. I would go back.
- hamid (10/5): A Great Stay in Niagara Falls - The Butterfly Manor was truly awesome! Peter and Sabrina were great hosts and made us feel at home, They made us a superb breakfast and provided us with all one can ask for breakfast. We will definitely stay there again!
- Cheryl (10/5): Beautiful B&B with a great view! - Location was walking distance to Niagara Falls. Wego was close access. Very accommodating with family atmosphere.
- Mark (8/5): - Ted, Peter and Sabrina were warm and gracious hosts. We would recommend staying here to our family and friends.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was clean. The staff was exceptional. They made you feel like you were home. There was nothing i didn't like about it. I would probably go back for another stay.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely location and breakfast. The husband and wife team and mother cooking great. Good travel advice and exceptional service
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I i like the quiet area and feeling at home away from home.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Disappointing - The B&B is in a good location, a little removed from the city centre so good if you want a quieter location. The place was spotless. Parking was free and wifi worked well.
However...
On arrival we were put into a very small room (maybe a foot between the end of the bed and the opposite wall). The fridge leaked, the TV didn't work, no soap in the bathroom. Loud noises from plumbing in other guests' rooms. No soundproofing to block noisy guests across the hall. When I listed these problems in response to the hotels.com "how was your check-in experience" query, the owner/manager appeared immediately and moved us into another room, which he described as a "family suite", so I guess it was an upgrade. However, the bed blocked the closet, rendering it unusable, and the legs on the night table were so close to broken that the thing was about to collapse. And the TV still didn't work -- no Canadian stations, so no hockey game. Oh well. Also, the owner said they don't provide soaps (just some liquid stuff in a bottle, and only a tiny amount).
Breakfast was included in the price, but we were not offered any options, just given a plate with a thin crepe-style omelette and bread that was warmed up in a toaster (but not actually toasted).
This may all sound like nitpicking, but for $90 this really wasn't worth it. I left with the feeling that the owners/management are a) cutting corners to save money and b) don't really understand the hospitality industry.
- Sammy (10/5): - We had a lovely one-night stay at the Butterfly Manor. The owner, Ted, was extremely hospitable, and he served up a lovely breakfast in the morning. The room we stayed in was cozy, clean, and well-decorated. We would stay here again!
- Shruti (4/5): - We used to visit this B&B quite frequently over the last 15 years. New owner (aquired 4-5 months ago) is nice enough but has zero business running a B&B. Overall property has been upgragded and kept up with renos/maintenance however:
1. Check in was a disaster. We get there at 6:30 as communicated. Ringing door bell and calling number mentioned on door 4 times, waiting in -7C weather. Owner finally showed up 15 minutes later. Emails with owner were signed off as previous owner Ennie - not sure what that was about.
2. Room was NOT prepared for our visit. Toilet paper roll was empty, ZERO soap and shampoo in dispensers (showers in the morning were miswrable with no soap), mini fridge was not even plugged in and was dirty/moldy.
3. Breakfast USED to be bountiful and amazing including baked goods/assortment of teas/jams etx.... New owner served what he called ommettes but they were more a flat egg circle maybe made from 1.5 eggs and 1 piece of toast which is just regular wonder bread with packaged Kraft Jam. Plus a cup of yoghurt. We didn't bother having breakfast the 2nd day. Left early and found a cafe closeby.
New owner fefinitely needs to learn the B&B busines if he is going to stay in business.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place to stay. Hosts very welcoming and attentive. Great location in walking distance and easy reach of falls.
- Maria (8/5): - Close to the falls good location. Good service and friendly staff
- Karen (10/5): - Clean and nice place to stay. Close to the falls. Free parking.
- Marilyn (8/5): - Nice location. Grounds need some work. Sheets were pilled. Smoke detector had been removed but there was a fire escape steps from our room. Breakfast was excellent. Hosts were very gracious and we felt very comfortable. I think the owners had just acquired the Manor.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, nice location, good price, good breakfast..
- Lori (8/5): - very nice friendly place and accommodating although tv signal wasn't good which was annoying. I probably wouldn't stay here again because of the value for our money.
- Donna (8/5): - The listing for the BNB says they offer a continental breakfast. But they made us omelets when we were there so I think they should change it to say "hot breakfast". Also, they should list that there is a local shuttle available for a nominal fee to get around town.
- David (10/5): Great stay - Very nice stay. Clean, great location, polite management. We stayed three nights and felt comfortable the entire time. We recommend this B&B to anyone looking to relax and enjoy Niagara Falls.
- Cristina (8/5): - It was okay property. We were in the back of the house so no view itanok for short stay
- Fred (10/5): - Really liked this B&B, staff very friendly and courteous. Rooms clean, everything was as it should be. Nice location, right across from river/gourge, lots of parking, will allow you to leave car a little longer if you want to do some walking in the area (could take some time and walk to falls if you want). Even have a gym in basement (didn't see it)
Served a good breakfast, need to let them know what time you will be down and they will be ready for you.
Hope to be able to stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Not to far from the falls, Decent area.Good breakfast
- Dirk (10/5): - Fantastic value the only improvement I can think of is the TV. Limited channels
Overall a9.8
- James (8/5): - Visitors (especially those is walking problems) should know BEFOREHAND that the B&B is on the green bus route, how to get tickets (valid all day), and the advantage of leaving the car at the B&B. An outside space for an evening drink with friends would be nice, but not very practicable at this B&B. Otherwise a good experience.
- Julie (6/5): - Very nice B & B and walking distance to the falls. We had one minor issue with the reservation fee but settled it upon arrival. The only complaint was there was no hot water in the shower. The bathroom sink had hot water, but both my husband and I had to take cold showers. Not sure why this happened in our room but we never said anything to the owners at breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and quiet place to stay. Close to the falls and other attractions. Breakfast was very good. Thanks, Enny.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay.....room was well appointed and clean. The breakfast was amazing and we didn't need to stop for lunch! Would definitely recommend this BnB!
- Kit (10/5): - Great place to stay away from the crowds, near Falls
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was comfortable and friendly. Breakfast was delicious!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location at the Falls - Great location in the Bed and Breakfast section of town with everything close by, either a walk or a bus ride away. Extremely helpful staff/owner who gave us very useful information and helped us structure our day.
- Philip (10/5): - Great location, well kept property. Short drive to Niagara on the Lake and very short drive to the falls. We stayed in the Holly Blue room which was a nice size and comfortable. Quiet spot away from the hustle.
- Deric (10/5): - Large room. Nice, quiet, comfortable and convenient.
- John (10/5): - A very nice place in a perfect spot! Enny was most accomodating and served up a delicious breakfast each morning to start our day. The location is in a quiet area along the Niagara River and is just a block away from the WEGO bus stop which takes you to the Falls and several areas of interest along the way in a short time. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very happy we picked this place for our Niagara Falls vacation. We would definitely return!
- Debra&Darryl (8/5): - A very nice and friendly family runs this bed and breakfast. Excellent breakfast and the rooms are nice and clean. Walls are a little thin as the neighbouring guests were loud. No fault of the owners though. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast for your next stay.
