Katherine (9/5): Fun and funky place to stay - This is my second stay here and I love it. The containers are super comfortable and surprisingly light and spacious. The location is right next to a working ranch, so you can watch the cattle wander around. They have a pool, some fire rings, and plenty of outdoor seating. It's very relaxing, and the sunsets both times I have stayed have been spectacular.

Receipt says taxes and fees but "fees" are what Expedia gets paid and then the property adds additional cleaning fee you're not aware of. Longtime Expedia customer and I am done with them. Definitely don't book any rental property throught this site.

Decor was great. Loved the fire pit, hammock and pool. Just awesome down to the best sheets ever and comfy robes. Spent the evenings listening to records and creating on the chalk board with my daughter or hanging by the fire and swimming in the pool. Awesome memories. Wouldn’t change a thing and hope you don’t. Not a thing. Maybe an ice maker somewhere on property would be nice but certainly not necessary

We had our six year old and thought she could crash on the couch but it just wasn’t comfy enough and she was crammed in with us by midnight. The listing definitely said two is preferred- but I would update to say it really is a two person situation. Other than that, perfectly nice, clean and easy place to crash for a short time.

Jeremy (9/5): Wonderful!! This is a great place to stay if you're heading to Shakespeare at Winedale. - We had a wonderful stay! The unit was clean and comfortable - even with our 3 kids. We loved seeing the cows wake up in the morning and looking at the stars at night! The bathroom is in the middle of the unit which, with older kids, made it a bit challenging to manage privacy. A curtain or privacy film on the shower would have made it more manageable.

Steven (10/5): Best kept secret in Texas - I never write reviews but this spot warrants it. If you’re headed to Round Top or anywhere in the vicinity there’s only one place you should stay. It’s simply the best. From the location, to the coolness of the decor, to the comfortability of the beds, to the magnificent pool, to the stellar communication with Matt the owner and Nigel the groundskeeper aka the unofficial mayor of the town… Flophouze ranks amongst the most memorable spaces I’ve ever stayed. My only regret is telling you people about it because it’ll increase the likelihood I won’t be able to get a booking next time I pass through.

Mary (8/5): - Funky and fun idea for a boutique hotel. you have a couch, a bathroom, a bedroom and a kitchenette with microwave, sink and some basic dishes. Back porch looks out onto a picturesque cow pasture. You have a hammock and firepit for hanging out and relaxing. There is a hot tub and BBQ pit on the property. Containers are painted with murals and offer a great chance to try out his tiny house concept. What to know before you go: 1) The cows mix and mingle freely amongst the containers, so watch your step in the grass. 2) their are no blackout curtains. This means the motion activated lights that come on when the critters move around at nights or from car lights are shining into your bedroom. Thicker curtains should be on their list. Their are QR codes to work everything from the heat to the coffee pot, so you need to find those in the kitchen. They have TINY writing so you may need to look twice to figure it all out. There are lots of ports for charging devices. There is no TV or radio, just a record player, so bring your own book, magazines, or ipad if you want entertainment besides the cows. There isn't much in the area for breakfast, so keeping some food in the little fridge and making do may be a solid plan. Same with beverages and snacks. You are a good distance away from these items if you don't bring them.
Linda (1/5): Bad - It was a unique place Upon arrival the weather had dropped to 34 .We thought what was the heat was on.We left and came back later to a freezing room.We called and we’re told that there was no one there to assist us.We tried to follow instructions via phone. Reception was not great so we never got the correct information to start heat. We left in the middle of the night to find a motel in LaGrange 15 miles away. I will not recommend this venue because there is no one to rely on when you need help. Maybe a great place in the summer but please don’t try it in winter. I have never given a bad review at any of booking .com places that I have stayed.But this was very costly and inconvenient.
