- Alyson (8/5): - Everything was as expected, great location, large room, pool was small but clean. Our next to last day though the power went out across the island and we were left without power, ac, flushing toilets for nearly 12 hours. We heard from another guest that this was a scheduled outage for a large part of the island. I can understand this is something out of their control however my frustration stems from the lack of communication. We heard about this from another guest. I was able to reach out by text but no additional information was able to be provided. There was no generator, no candles, way to charge our phone or anything provided (it went past dark). If we had been told it would have allowed us to make other arrangements, being our last night we would have moved to the mainland.

Had everything you needed kitchen with fridge ,microwave,hot plate.dishes ,blender coffee pot. We only used the fridge but everything was there. They even had the big jug of water so you didn’t have to buy any. Beds were comfortable and a/c worked great. Your front patio had a table and chairs plus a sofa.out your back door you had a clothes line to hang up wet clothes. They had a massage hut right outside our door.I had a hour massage with Patrica and would highly recommend . We spent 3 nights and would definitely stay here again. Thanks again Alex was a pleasure meeting you and your staff.

Our room was very nice with a built in kitchenette and pleasing decor and furniture. AC worked great and beds were soft. Our massages from the spa were also amazing! All around great experience.
- Shirley (6/5): - the first night I was given the wrong room, two beds instead of 1 king, the second night they upgraded us to an executive room with a king which was great. The hotel has much potential, loved the art around it and location was near the beach but not enough staff keeping up with cleaning rooms and common area, so parts of the garden looked very abandoned and trashy. I heard music through my bathroom window one day and a "male worker" was on his phone watching videos for 2 hours. without proper management this hotel will go under and it's a pity.

We had specifically reserved a room towards the back of the property. No one at reception the whole time we were there. Coffee pot had no coffee filters. Overall the location is good next to Playa Norte but run down. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable.

We were at another hotel with a beach view, but still elected to move here because of the convenience to Plays Norte and Hidalgo. We also appreciated having more amenities like the kitchenette, which was nice since we stayed a couple weeks. Great shower pressure with hot water was an upgrade for us too! The entire staff was great to work with! Alex was communicative and accommodating. Housekeeping did a great job ensuring clean rooms and fresh towels when we needed them. Grounds crew was always busy maintaining the place and the spa staff were friendly as we came in and out. Also, LOVED the pool. We will be back next year! Thanks Alex and team!

- Janis (4/5): - Hotel Paradise suites has so much potential as a property but, unfortunately, has apparently fallen into the sort of neglect you would expect to see in a two star or less property. On the positive side, the artwork spread throughout, from the check in area to the rooms, is really awesome and captivating. As for the Rose themselves, we were first shown to a room, which by the way we were paying more than $250 per night for, that was frighteningly rundown, including broken window blinds, appliances in the kitchenette that looked like they had been salvaged from a junkyard, no water dispenser and a back side courtyard, so to speak, that looked to be nothing more than a dumping place for broken down appliances and bathroom fixtures. We asked for and were – thankfully – moved to a larger room that seemed to have been cared for more, but we still lacking in such basic amenities as a single lamp, drinking water, coffee maker, and any cooking receptacle other than a small frying pan with no lid. Despite being instructed to put all toilet paper into the trashcan next to the trash, we did not see a housekeeper for the first three days of our visit, eventually removing the trash ourselves, asking for either a broom to sweep the sand from the floor or for the floor to be swept and hunting down a housekeeping cart to look for a new set of towels. We have nothing against rugged accommodations, if priced accordingly. Not the case here…

- ChrisSanFrancisco (10/5): An excellent and relaxing stay at this beautiful property - We had an excellent and very relaxing experience at this reasonably priced hotel. The manager, Alex, runs a tight ship and is very charming and helpful. Our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable with great air conditioning. The beds were super awesome and we liked having a kitchen so we could prepare some of our own meals. The workers at the hotel were so nice. We really liked our housekeeper Ruth and the always working handyman Samuel. Our room was kept very clean as is the whole property and pool. Beautiful Plays Norte is a block and a half away from the hotel. We would throw on water shoes, walk over there and swim for hours every day. we have to give a shout out to the best massages we have ever had at the paradise spa, which is on the property and very inexpensive. The Argentinian restaurant in front of the hotel had excellent empanadas which we ordered many times. The restaurants on Hidalgo Street are a few blocks away. We particularly liked Mamma Rosa which had excellent Italian food and cold air conditioning in a beautiful environment with great service. We also had a great meal at aroma Isla. This is a great hotel for anybody, couples, families and LGBTQ . Everyone is welcome here. The vibe is so relaxed and quiet. This is our 10th trip to Isla Mujeres and the best. The hardest part was coming home. Highly recommended.
- Kyle (6/5): - Very strange but unique property. The room we had was an upgrade as there was construction near where the dual bed suites were located. To be honest, it seemed like the whole complex was under renovation at one point and they just gave up. Definitely needs some TLC and a bit of a modern upgrade on the rooms and common area. Some of the taps and other fixtures were slightly damaged or needed maintenance. The pillows and bed seem a little worn out and not the most comfortable, but a whole day in the sun makes quick work of being awake anyways. Distance from downtown Isla Mujeres and the north beach is unbeatable (unless you get a hotel on the actual beachfront). Alex (manager) was not always on site (or any staff), but was extremely friendly, helpful and always available via text or phone. Overall a generally positive experience, although there seem to be much nicer and more modern hotels with the same distance to the beach for comparable prices or less.

There are restaurants within a block of Paradise suites. A big shout out to our housekeeper Ruth, who did an amazing job at keeping our unit clean. It is so nice to have a well equipped kitchen to make some meals. really a five star for us and the rates were very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Water under doors into room when rained. Maid, Ruthie, did a good job with awful room.

- Mycred (10/5): Hidden treasure - Hidden gem next to Playa Norte. Has about 20 hotel suites that can be found directly or as an AirBnB. The rooms are well appointed with great beds, good sized bathrooms, excellent AC’s and ceiling fans, large fridge and freezer(large enough for a bag of ice. Excellent art work around the property. Housekeeping, Mrs Ruth is a treasure. Manager Mr Alex is very responsive and helpful. Outside the front door are 8 restaurants and comfort food restaurants including the excellent North Garden for breakfast and lunch Grill Garden for lunch and dinner. Opposite is the famous Snappers sports bar with excellent food and drinks. Easy walking to all the action on Hidalgo or beach clubs on Playa Norte. The biggest advantage is the Spa, a transit oasis with 4 excellent masseuses and a large range of treatments. Don’t miss it!!!
- LightPacker94661 (8/5): Remarkably interesting place - The location is great, walking distance to North Beach, great restaurants, and night life and shopping on Hidalgo Street. In past stays on the island, we rented a golf cart and due to the location of this property, did not need to do so. Fantastic location. The front desk was closed, when we arrived, and had to get an on-site spa masseuse call the hotel manager so we could check-in. Once we connected with the manager, things went very smooth. We arrived to the room, we realized that It had two queen beds rather than the king bed that we reserved. Spoke to the manager and she advised that the rooms with king beds had broken ac. Special note- the manager, Alex, communicated very well, attentive to our needs and offered excellent customer service. She was impressive. The room was clean, large, with all accommodations “as advertised.” We were impressed with the cleanliness of the room. It had a mini kitchen, medium sized fridge, and nice closet. The facility offered beach towels in addition to bathroom towels. The towels were of high quality and nice. Our first night, we experienced the ac not cooling well, notified Alex and she promptly addressed our concern and we were very happy. The pool was clean. Spa was not working. Area outside of our hotel room was clean and well-groomed for a tropical type setting. Love the occasional iguana’s roaming freely through the area as this contributed to the positive experience. We understand that the price point of this hotel is on the lower end. Based on this we rated it as 4. The hotel is in a fantastic location. Do not expect luxurious accommodations. We would stay here again.

The pool was completely drained while we were there, wish we would have known this before we arrived, as it was one of the amenities we were really wanting. The location is very good.

My review is soly based on the fact that I broke my femur bone 3wks. before check-in and they wouldn't refund my booking. I had doctor and surgery report to varify incident. I had doctors order to stay off leg with no bending for 6-8 wks. with a plate and screws in my leg. Very disappointing.

Room is clean, everything we need to cook with a good size fridge. Very quiet at night which is rare for Playa Norte we are steps from the beach. Alex the manager is awesome. Speaks perfect English with a great sense of humor. I would stay here again anytime have a dinner at Garden grill and breakfast at north grill. Some of the best food and right beside your front door.

I’m sure this was a stylish hotel “back in the day” and it has potential to shine again ….. but needs investment and attention in my opinion.
- Chawn (10/5): - This property was lovely and the service was top notch. The interior is a little dated, but the rooms have everything you need and you can’t beat the price or location.

- Lisa (2/5): - I rarely give bad reviews but I hope this serves as a warning for others looking to not be scammed and waist their money. I booked this hotel because I wanted a gym and kitchen to use, as I have dietary restrictions and prefer to cook my own food as restaurants often do not provide feasible options. In the gym, not a single piece of cardio equipment in the gym worked properly. All weights and machines were fully rusted over. The pots and pans in the kitchen were unusable. By unusable, I mean the teflon was completely scratched off exposing any food or water to more than 9,000 micro- and nanoparticles, potentially contaminating food with harmful chemicals, according to a study by researchers from the Global Centre for Environmental Remediation. I asked if they had any pans that were not scratched and they said those were only type they had. There was also mold growing on the walls. I ended up leaving 2 days early and explained my concerns to management and asked for a refund of the remaining 2 days I would not be there. They did not refund me and could have cared less about any of the concerns I addressed. I contacted Expedia trying to get a refund for the 2 days I did not stay there and was eventually ghosted. This is very overpriced for what it is. I do not think it is worth the money and view properties like this that boast amenities like a gym with no usable equipment to be dishonest and a scam.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Poorly maintained hotel - The pictures make it look modern, but the hotel room is in horrible condition. Everything is rusted or stained. The toilet seat hinge was broken. The sink faucet sprayed water all over the sink because of the sediment build up. The couch was musty and stained. The only positive was that the bed was comfortable. I regret booking this hotel.

- 30perryb (10/5): Great Location with Onsite Spa - The location was excellent and rooms were clean. Alex was very responsive to any questions we had. The standout of this hotel was the masseuse on grounds, Zaly. I am not a massage type of person but this was supposed to be a relaxing vacation to do a little 'reset' so figured 'why not?' Zaly really worked to get all the knots out and worked in some stretching too. Immediately felt great and even days later I still feel so much better. Do yourself a favor and book her even if you aren't staying at the hotel. Will definitely be going back to her!

- Rhonda (10/5): Beautiful little gem with great location. - The property is a little gem in a great location. It’s not a big fancy resort, it’s a quiet, private place with only 12 rooms and a clean pool. It’s very close to Mia reef beach and the beach bars. Beautiful street! The property manager Alex is definitely a reason we enjoyed our stay so much. She was very kind, accommodating and handled anything we needed. 6 min walk to the best beach you’ve ever seen!
- kendrar805 (10/5): Hidden oasis close to the North Beach - A hidden oasis close to the North beach! This gem is just a couple minute walk from the most gorgeous beach I’ve ever been to (by the Mia Reef). There is a fabulous restaurant for breakfast right beside the property (North Garden) and a lovely little bakery. The property manager-Alex was incredible! She went out of her way to accommodate anything we asked for during our stay. The room was spacious and comfortable with great air conditioning! We stayed in #1. It had beautiful floor to ceiling windows with auto black out blinds. The little pool might have been my favourite part! It was clean and just the perfect size our our group.
- rhondak336 (10/5): Lovely little gem in a fantastic area! - This is a hidden gem in a fantastic location! A 2 min walk to the mia reef beach which is the best one in my opinion! The rooms were spacious, cleaned daily. Pool was clean and we had the whole thing to ourselves basically! There aren’t a lot of rooms here so it’s always nice and quiet. For the price, it’s great. The manager Alex made our stay so comfortable and relaxing. Hard to find the entrance the first time but once you do in you appreciate it being so private. We love Isla!

- Julia (10/5): - We loved the proximity to Playa Norte and restaurants. The property is unique in its quiet, laid back atmosphere. The grounds are lovely and feature fun art and sculptures! The pool is perfect and well maintained. Staff was pruning coco palms when we were there and Alex offered fresh coconut which was so delicious and appreciated! Massage avail there on premises - super nice. Loved the close by coffee and street tacos and close to cart rental as well as stroll to ferry. We will book here when we return - also will be great for larger group
- Blanca (8/5): - Mixed feelings, here’s why. The bad: The property it’s self is need of some love. A few items are either outdated or not working as intended. The good: The staff was very attentive and pleasant. The location is EXCELLENT! Within a short walk to one of the most beautiful beaches of Isla Mujeres, shopping, dinning and bars.
- Marisol (10/5): - At Hotel Paradise Suites, their rooms are very spacious; staff is friendly and courteous. My husband and I received excellent customer service from all their staff members. We loved our stay. The Hotel is walking distance straight to Playa Norte, the best Beach in Isla Mujeres. And, most importantly, right next door to the Best Tacos in IM, as well! Tacos El Paso, are so delicious, we ate there almost every morning and night.

We enjoyed the pool and massages from the lovely massage ladies:) Seriously, one of the best messages I’ve ever had. Our best form of communication with the front desk was via text, thought that might be useful info… We will definitely come back! - Jillian (6/5): - There were bugs and plumbing issues. However, Alex was very accommodating and helpful.
- Peshi (2/5): - This is the perfect place if you enjoy a camping experience. The door of the room goes to the outside. Insects and lizards come into the room from under the door. It is very well located, 1 min walk from the beach but the premises are not very clean. The sheets had stains on them. We didn’t think it was worth the price.

- Bridget (6/5): - Very difficult to communicate with property manager, kept being told to use the --------- app which is obviously not helpful. The air conditioning works great, and I thought the bed was comfortable however the absolute worst pillows I have ever encountered. We didn't get our room cleaned one day which is pretty important when it's so hot, muggy, and sandy and the water faucets spray out sideways so you can't wash your hands or brush your teeth without getting an upper body shower. Our friends encountered roaches and sewage back-up, we did not however. I would only recommend if you're on a budget, we will not stay here again.
- Resort577044 (10/5): Just the Best artful place to stay filled with character! - We discovered this gem after checking out of a nearby hotel (which we had paid in advance for 4 nights before we were told the pool was being renovated! "Non-refundable"!!) We were shown Suite 11, with a kitchenette, equipped with dishes, pans, all you need to prepare food. The beds were very comfortable, modern styling, sofa, wooden slab table, nice staff, quiet. But the POOL!! It is the most beautiful, with shallow ledges for floating in bliss, surrounded by palms and banyan trees. And the SPA!! Junie was my masseuse, and it was fabulous! The manager, Alex was very careful to make our stay as pleasant as could be! The beach and restaurants are just steps away. As is the golf cart rental. Great location!
- Brandy (6/5): - Pool pictures advertised are not a great reflection of the actual area. Beds were amazing and the staff was fantastic.
- ARACELI (10/5): - Location is great!! The staff are extremely nice since the minute you arrive. The place had everything you need to enjoy your vacation and we did! We will back for sure.
- Annabelle (10/5): - An amazing location, also very quiet. There were multiple options for food on the same street . The bedding was good, nice shower pressure, lovely staff who let us check in early. The room ( more like a cabana) had a back door with a space for hanging wet suits and towels. They even provide you with beach towels! This hotel is wonderful, I highly recommend.

- george (8/5): Our Paradise Suite experience - We enjoyed our stay primarily because of it's location, 100 meters from the best beach. The staff was amazing, what ever we needed, they were a WhatsApp message away. The place was OK, clean but nothing fancy. Very comfortable and had the basic necessities with kitchen. We will be back
- howard (4/5): - 2 words... Run down... the entire property looks to have been neglected for some years. the room was ok, but the grounds are in poor condition. the cleaning staff were pleasant. 2 star residence at 4 star prices. Management can be dodgy.

- HeatherLovesMexico (6/5): Sub Par Playa Norte Property - The Positives Management - The biggest asset this property has is Alex, the manager. Her customer service is impeccable. She goes out of her way to be helpful and you'd think she was trained at an upscale property. I was not a fan of my room and she showed me two others and it was "her pleasure." Location - If you want a property that is walkable to Playa Norte and downtown, here you go. There is a coffee shop next door and it is across the street from Snappers. You really don't need a golf cart unless you plan to head toward Punta Sur a couple of times. Suite - You have a TV with cable and a kitchenette. There is a back patio (without chairs) where you can hang up wet suits. The Negatives If you read my other reviews, you'll see that they are positive. Because I felt so violated by the value here, I write... Landscaping - The pictures that they publish give you resort vibes and this is not even close to that. Our room looked out over possibly a black water, huge container. With the amount of space that was not occupied by rooms, there was a huge opportunity for beautiful Mexican landscaping that people expect in both simple and more elaborate hotels. It was basically sand with sparse plants. Even if the hotel is not trying to be "fancy," I feel like I could have had a more forgiving attitude about it with great landscaping to compliment the interesting sculptures. Value- If I had paid maybe $150/night, I wouldn't be complaining, but it was double that. This is not beachfront, it's near the beach, so I don't think that they can get away with this twice for most guests. This is a far cry from a "boutique hotel" by any standards. It's basic. Perhaps the frustrating part is that at the $300+ rate, they have some incoming coming in with that many rooms but not investing in the quality of the property.
- joannalmahoney (10/5): A lovely stay - We stayed for three nights and this was my second time. I think the hotel location is great, right in the heart of playa norte, you could walk to eveyrthing esp the beach which i really liked. I think the hotel is mediocre, I remember it being nicer in 2017 when the hotel was just being built. They didn't have fitted sheets for the king size bed and the bathroom was tiny, but that being said there was a kitchen and hot water and a nice back outdoor area to hang and wet laundry which came in handy. We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was really nice and helpful. It's def a laid back environment. The pool is lovely and it felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.
- Leah (10/5): - Have to say, I've stayed at ny share if places in isla and this is a jackpot! Super nice staff. Quite when you wantbto just chill, and right outside is full access to the bwach for day and party for the night. If i were to have a wedding scenario on thus island, as ive been in before this is hands down an AMAZING place to accommodate that. Block this place off for your wedding guests! Full Kitchens in every room, a pool if you walk the one min walk and are over the beach. Theres a hot tub too. And an amazing breakfast place right next door. Also SAVE YOUR MONEY on a golf cart, this is in heart of all and also, quite if you wanna sneak away.
- Colerhe (10/5): Great Boutique hotel - Went just before the pandemic so it's been a few years.....Nice attentive staff, massage therapist on site, cute small pool however the beach is one block away so only used the pool for a cool down once. Awesome to have a kitchenette to make food and drinks. Buy some ice and bring a thermos....we made blended drinks and brought them down to the beach several times which saved a few dollars and made our beach experience a little nicer....Ilsa is a great place to visit and this place is only blocks from the restaurant district.

- LizInATX (4/5): Far too pricey for what you get - Absurd prices for what you get. This property is what I’d call a hostel or guest house (i.e., the type of affordable place where I stayed in my 20s for $50-100/night), but markets itself as a proper hotel. Our rooms weren’t cleaned at all because service was so slow. Other guests had large water jugs, but we only received 1-2 individual bottles per person each day - and only when we asked. We never got enough beach towels for all of our party. I’m literally never interacted with or saw anyone at the front desk. The Wi-Fi in the room did not work. What else…a roach crawled over my husband’s foot one evening. Again, all of this is fine for a much lower price. But we paid $220/night. Moved elsewhere for a slightly higher price for the second half of our trip and were amazed by the jump in quality. Avoid unless necessary.
- Thiago Mendes (4/5): - If you want a place just to crash this will be good, but if you expect comfort for $1000 for 6 days, you are getting a Motel 6. The customer service of the hotel is very good, same as the location. But we killed at least 3-4 cockroaches in our room and a dozen ants, the shower was so small we had to stand against the wall, the shower drain and kitchen sink didn’t work… in general isla mujeres is a third world country with first world prices. It’s a beautiful place just overrun with tourists and very expensive prices, even more than the US, with less comfort and lower quality
- Alicia (10/5): - Such a great hidden gem in Playa Norte - so close to everything yet tucked away and quiet when you wanted to get out of the hustle of Hidalgo & Centro. All of your standard amenities were provided and Alex staff were very friendly. Would definitely return!
- nicholef785 (10/5): Love this hotel! - We fell in love with this hotel! Just off the street you wouldn’t know the oasis behind the wall. It’s so pretty with sculptures, iguanas, a small pool ( not for lap swimming), a common area, spa, and in general a relaxing island vibe. The location one block from playa Norte and a close walk to all the shops, restaurants, ferry, etc can’t be beat. Our room had two beds, a couch, a small kitchen and an outdoor area that was enough space for our family of four. A coffee maker (bring/buy coffee) some limited kitchen supplies, and a back clothesline to hang all our wet things we’re all convenient pluses. The reception was very nice. Parts of the bathroom were in need of an upgrade but that didn’t bother us. Also there was not daily mid service- which is fine for us and better for the environment- but I would guess they would do it if you asked. In addition to being close to many restaurants, there is a coffe/pastry shop and some food stand right out the door. Would go back there for sure.
