Guest Reviews
- Gretchen (10/5): Quaint Stay, will surely come back again - Great little stay - look forward to coming back again in the future! After a LONG drive up the east coast if felt nice to stay somewhere homey feeling and not a stark hotel on the side of an Interstate HW. Room had all the amenities we needed, the company and breakfast from the staff was warm and delicious. Neighboring restaurant was a nice place to eat/drink in the evenings. Cute town to walk around in. Parking was SO easy. Great relaxing stay we will do again with future student drop offs at IUP.
- Joseph (10/5): - Such a quaint, historical site. Must have quite a history.
- Toni (8/5): - Check in was easy and fast. breakfast was awesome! The bed was a little bouncy especially for 2 -- 1 moved the other bounced....but the last minute accomodations were doable!
- Joseph (10/5): - The building is a historic site built in 1834. The owner is friendly, informative, very kind. The rooms are large, very comfortable, each with it's own bathroom. The breakfasts are fantastic! The staff can't be any more welcoming and accommodating.
- Constance (10/5): - A unique space, historical and beautiful
- Dennis (10/5): - I always stay here when visiting the local area.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Lee was an awesome host. Super friendly and accommodating. Amy was awesome too. She made a great breakfast and she was super sweet. Worth the stay.
- Patricia (10/5): - Everything was clean. The room was warm and welcoming. The old charm was incredible. The staff we very helpful and pleasant. It was a very pleasant experience and very comfortable
- Laura (8/5): - very homy
- Nelson (4/5): - The owner did not knew that pay at the property from Expedia was available. He try to charge my card days before my arrival. The parking lot was unsafe lot of ice not cleaned. Room was old and the shower as well. Bedding sheet smell like was on the closet for years. The breakfast was amazing however only after 8:15 so i only enjoyed one time. The rest of the time i had to leave earlier than the breakfast. Very sad. The prices were like a updated hotel but it was nothing like that. I wish i can have back at least half of my money. I left a day earlier because all this.
- Sarah (10/5): - A lovely place and the owner gentleman is wonderful.
- Doreen (10/5): Like Grandma's House, but better! - I loved my stay at the Noon-Collins Inn! Lew Ripley, the proprietor, was absolutely delightful! Is this a new and updated place? No, but it was so cozy and nice! It's all the best things about staying at Grandma's House except your relatives aren't there (unless, of course, you brought them with you.)
Close to many restaurants and bars too. (If it hadn't been 7 degrees when I visited, I might have walked around the town after work!)
Breakfast is included. I wasn't able to partake (I had to leave for work earlier than it was served) but Lew made sure I had something to eat before I left anyway! If you are looking for a place to stay in or near Ebensburg, PA, I suggest you choose the Noon-Collins Inn. Say hi to Lew for me!
- Renae (10/5): - The inn keeper was charming. The inn had so much charm as if we were transposed to the past. Breakfast was delisciius! A lovely place!
- Andrea (10/5): Best B&B I've ever stayed in!! - What a gorgeous place to stay if your find yourself in this area of PA! The house was built nearly 200 years ago and is just so very special and beautiful. Lew (I believe that's how he spells it) the owner was so very very attentive. He gave us dinner recommendations and was lovely to deal with. The breakfast we were served was delicious and was enjoyed in such a pretty dining room. I just can't say enough about the history. There was even a newspaper clipping framed in our room telling some history about the bed we got to sleep in (see pic). Wonderful stay and we would 100% stay again.
- Chadwick (8/5): - Nice place. Very vintage. Make sure you realize it's a B&B experience. Very nice people just be aware. Its a place to relax
- Keith (8/5): - Mr Riley was super friendly. Staff was very nice and breakfast each morning was very good. Would consider staying here again when in the area.
- Todd (10/5): - Great location! Friendly and welcoming environment.
- Audra (6/5): - Convient location. Charming host. Full breakfast served.
- Audra (8/5): - Classic Colonial style Bed and Breakfast. Friendly staff and charming owner. Conveniently located next to an excellent restaurant Pour On Tap.
- Gretchen (10/5): - This is a charming, historic inn, and we loved our 2 night stay here. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The innkeeper and staff are very kind and attentive. The location is perfect for exploring Ebensburg and the surrounding area. This is not the place for travelers looking for new or upscale. If you're looking for a small town, historic inn experience, though, this is a gem. We really hope to return!
- Yuletssy (10/5): - Great facility and personal. I feel really comfortable, and it is a quiet place for a total nice of relaxation.
- Edward (10/5): - This is a delightful bed & breakfast. The building is over 100 years old, so don't expect a flashy modern ambiance. Do expect to be immersed in local history. It is clean, quiet, and safe, and the owner bends over backward to make the guest feel comfortable. Compared to the costs of even mediocre hotels, its tariff can be considered a bargain. There is no elevation, of course.
- Anne (10/5): - This inn is such a perfect spot for a weekend trip. The staff is so kind and they serve breakfast every morning. The inside is so cute, has an amazing personality. Although it is older it still has AC and a very nice shower. 10/10, definitely would come back
- Dennis (10/5): - Lew is always a gracious and friendly host.
- Chelsea (4/5): High Rating is Misleading - I had to change my dates for this trip, when I arrived the owner (who is hard of hearing) informed me that I had cancelled my whole stay. I tried to show him my reservation but he was not having it. In the end I was offered my room, but it was a little bit of a struggle in communication.
I was in a double room, it was small but worked for me. The bed was uncomfortable and I am not sure the last time the pillows have been replaced. Since it is an old house you can hear EVERYTHING. The rooms are in the front of the building so you can hear the cars/trucks all night long. The building was set to 80 and the window AC unit, while new, could not cool the room down and was also loud.
The wifi (passcode is gold1234) does not reach into the rooms, so I was not able to work at all while at the hotel. Even sitting in the weird nook that is right above the router didn't help. This is also right outside of the owners room.
Breakfast isn't served until 8:30am so if you need to be out before that you will not be offered anything. I saw in other reviews that people were offered to go muffins, but that was not the case for me.
I chose this place for the reviews it had, but it didn't work for me. My room also had minor storage in it, the areas that the owner lives in are cluttered, with papers. It just wasn't what I was expecting for all the great reviews it does have.
- Robin (6/5): - It just seemed a bit run down.
- Tara (10/5): - The property is a very quaint little B&B in a great location. It is a bit dated but is very nice and breakfast was delicious. Lew, the owner, was extremely nice and friendly
- Elizabeth A (10/5): - Very nice, quaint, historical.
- Elizabeth A (10/5): - I have been staying at the inn once or twice a year with family and friends for over 10 years, and have always had a wonderful time. The character of the building, spacious rooms, delicious breakfast elegantly served, all make for a wonderful stay. Innkeeper Mr. Ripley and his staff are very friendly and hospitable. I would highly recommend this place for a cozy weekend or week in lovely Ebensburg.
- George (8/5): - All ok
- Jeff (4/5): - ?
?
- Jeffery (10/5): Exceeded my expectations - The Noon-Collins met my expectations of a genuine historical building. It is well preserved and maintained in the public areas and the room we had. The owner was friendly and staff was as well.
- Gwen (10/5): - Over many years of staying at the Noon Collins, my family and I have formed an emotional bond with the inn and the Ripleys. The late Jeannette Ripley was one of those ladies you meet very rarely. A lovely, caring person, excellent cook and innkeeper. Her husband, Lewis, maintains the high standards she set with the help of Amy and Danielle. The building is everything you seek out a vintage bed and breakfast for. Wood, stone, antique furniture. This is a history lover's delight. Our special place in Ebensburg, PA.
- Linda (10/5): - The uniqueness of it and its history. The breakfasts served were excellent and varied. What I didn’t like was lack of ceiling fan for air circulation.
- Sophie (10/5): - When staying at a historic inn or hotel, I want to see some history. My husband and I enjoyed reading the old news clippings and historic details on the walls. The room, furnished with antiques, was very clean; nothing was sticky and the only noticeable dust was on the TV stand. Breakfast was in a pretty dining room. They accommodated our toddler by giving her cushions to sit on, milk in a child-sized cup, and a straw.
- Colin (8/5): - The breakfast food and service was excellent
- Rosemary (2/5): - The place smelled of mold and mildew breakfast wasnt as stated parking was terrible i was very unpleased
- Patricia (10/5): - The gentleman who owns this Inn is very delightful. This is an inn that had bathrooms added. This sink is in the main bedroom. Breakfast was fine, not my taste but the hostess set a nice table. Everything is clean but somewhat dated. I would stay again if we visited again.
- Jan (10/5): - It is a historical building so walk in with a love of simplicity, sweet service and 1900 atmosphere.
- Sandra (10/5): - Charming. Staff eager to be helpful. Breakfast pancakes were beautiful as was my delicious fruit compote. Owner was considerate, kind, thoughtful.
- Dennis (8/5): - Room number 7 is very big and met our needs entirely. I only wish I could have adapted the room temperatureto our needs. I did not try to open the windows. I was afraid to try to open the windows, since it's a very old property, but I wish I could have had some fresh air. A wonderful large bar of lavender soap was in the room, and it helped to scent the room. Also a very cute dish of chocolates was waiting for us. We thoroughly enjoyed talking to the owner Mr. Ropley, and the two cooks/ housekeepers Amy and Danielle. The breakfast was wonderfull, freshly cooked, served hot, and was a different breakfast everyday. The Inn was located within 7 to 15 miles of every place we wanted to go to. It doesn't have a very attractive walkway to the back entrance, but do not let that make you think the establishment isn't charming because it is very charming.
Additionally, if you like wine tasting you might try Germantown Winery on Frankstown Road, Portage, PA. A vintage gift shop called Chatterbox in Portage, and a local restaurant/bar called The Boxcar in Lily, PA
- James (4/5): - Quaint however, too antiquated. Need some upgrades. Shower, tv WiFi floors, chairs to sit in
- Wendy (10/5): - My wife and i stayed here after our wedding and returned 25 years later in 2024 for our anniversary. Enjoyed the nostalgia. Antiques. 100 year books in hallway. Old fasion and historical. Nice breakfast. Talked with Lou the owner. Very personable and friendly. If you value the character of how people and things were, you will like this place. Town is nice with more dining and shopping within 3 miles. You will like Hoss's and Kostas restaurants. Also Meadows frozen custaed. Walmart and major fast food also available.
God Bless
Jim & Wendy

- JOANNA (10/5): - I live strong water pressure in a shower and they had it! Great breakfast and Lew is precious!
- Jean-Luc (10/5): - Friendly staff
- Dennis (10/5): - Appreciated the help of the staff and very much enjoyed the accommodations
- Christopher (10/5): - Very quaint and perfect location to everything
- Joseph (10/5): - Yes
- Patricia (10/5): - Lovely historic building. Very clean! Nice breakfast.
- Alan (10/5): - Comfy and affordable
- Shane (10/5): Would Stay Again - Neat little B n B. Unique in a Good Way. The staff was very nice and helpful. Good Breakfast and coffee
- Philip (10/5): - Lew and Jeanette were very attentive to our needs. Quiet and comfortable.
- Nancy (10/5): - The hosts were very sweet and accommodating. The inn was rich in history and the breakfast was delicious.
- Eric (8/5): - Nice place to stay if you want that 1830’s feel and to avoid the box-chain hotels. Breakfast was nice although seating times and choices were limited. Each room has 1 bed. Right in downtown area, easy to park, I’d stay there again.
- Bart (8/5): - The Building is a beautiful pre civil war home it had a lot of nice features of old architecture.
The fact that the back door needs replaced and is not secured at night was not favorable to me or my sisters who rented rooms for the weekend.
No modern smoke alarms no exit lighting no fire suppression.
The rooms and bathrooms were very clean
- Carl (10/5): - Excellent breakfast, interesting historic property. Not easily accessible for those with limited mobility. Main (back) entrance door needs to be repaired.
- David (10/5): - I've stayed here about half a dozen times, mainly for work because it is a 5 minute or less walk from Cambria County Courthouse. Rooms are comfy, breakfast delicious and owners/staff friendly. There are many interesting attractions nearby including: Ghost Town rail-trail, Johnstown Flood Museum, USPS Portage Railroad site, Railroad Museum (Altoona) and Altoona Curve AA Baseball. Some decent restaurants in Ebensburg.
- Owen (10/5): - Great place
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Decent overall. Excellent breakfast. The big downside was that the window air conditioner in the room is very old and ready to be replaced... it wasn't working well during our stay.
- Linda (10/5): - The owners are awesome and friendly? Very good breakfast
- John (10/5): - A lot of charm and quiet room. Very clean
- Joan (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay, room was comfortable, and we loved the period furniture. The food was amazing at breakfast. Quiche, croissant, and fresh fruit 1 day, and banana stuffed french bread, bacon and fresh fruit the other. The back door needs replaced, but that didn't affect our stay. Truly a great find for us.
- John (10/5): - We were very happy with the welcoming staff, delicious breakfast, convenience and cleanliness. Thank you!
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Needs updated, decluttered and was creepy
- CAROL (10/5): - Second time staying with hosts, Jeanette and Lew. It was nice to see their smiles when checking in. The Noon-Collins Inn is a historic building with decor to match. It is clean, comfortable and feels like we are visiting family. We did not stay for breakfast this stay, but the last stay we did and it was fabulous. Jeanette and Lew are welcoming and take pride in the service they provide. Plenty of restaurants, shops, and a convenience store within walking distance. Much better than staying at a chain hotel. Plus, it is always good to support local. 🙂
- Betty (6/5): - Good location and breakfast was very good. Clean room and dining room but place was cluttrered everywhere else. Needs some repairs.
- Mary Jean (10/5): - Historic building with eclectic decor. Friendly proprietors, lovely breakfast.
- Kelly (8/5): - It was cool
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely, traditional B&B is the heart of PA. - Classic traditional Colinial Bed and Breakfast.

- Richard (10/5): A Very Pleasant Experience - Warm welcome, engaging & courteous staff, and delicious breakfast. Several fine restaurants for dinner in walking distance of the inn. Ebensburg was a very friendly community and the inn was centrally located.
- Richard (10/5): - Welcoming, friendly staff and delicious breakfast.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Quaint, cute Inn.
- Megan (10/5): - Loved the home-cooked breakfasts, huge rooms and lovely furnishings. The building is impressive and historical, but the interior is clean and feels very homey. Jeannette and Linda were warm and welcoming!
- joseph (10/5): - neat , clean , friendly atmosphere & a great breakfast
- Daniel (10/5): - This place was a little dated but very nice and the owners were super!!!
- judi (6/5): - Interesting building, very old. The room was small and had too much large furniture. The window air conditioner is loud as it cycled off and on. Breakfast was very good. Location was good, right in town, very walkable.
- Thomas (8/5): - The breakfast was great! The owners intent on my satisfaction. Park your car--you can walk to brewery, taverns restaurants shopping and don't have to feed the parking meters (Police will ticket!) Cozy rooms surrounded by antiques. No ghosts and a great value when compared to area franchises. Worth the visit!!
- Lorraine (10/5): - The staff was very accommodating and super friendly. Breakfast was amazing. We also enjoyed hearing some of the history of the building from the staff, it was very interesting. Will consider staying again in the future.
- Robert (10/5): - Absolutely the most elegant breakfast I have ever been served.
- Randy (10/5): - We stayed here for the Ghost Town trail race in June 2022. Check in was easy and convenient. The room was clean and the owner made sure we had everything thing we needed in the room. The check in for the race, restaurants and race finish were all within easy walking distance. 10/10 will stay here again.
- Christi (10/5): - Lovely owner and staff. Breakfast was delicious!
- Douglas (10/5): - Much better than a hotel if you don't want a modern stay. Its full of character. Its an old building and the rooms reflect that. They are clean well lit and have everything you need. They rooms are lovely as are the owners who make sure you have everything you need. They are very nice people. Good parking. Tons of food and drink options within walking distance.
- MARK (8/5): - Mrs. Rippley is a wonderful person, who is kind, caring and attentive to her client's needs! We had a wonderful stay at the Noon-Collins Inn (my 2nd stay) and will certainly be back again,
- Nikolay (10/5): - Poece of history, not for the people liking the modern life
