Guest Reviews
- Kimberly (6/5): - The view is very nice. Easy parking. The property is about 18-20 mins outside of West Yellowstone so factor that into your drive time if you’re headed to the park.
- Kevin (10/5): - They had everything we needed, great view of the lake. They could ditch the new look and go back to Rustic but it was still nice.
- Gwendolyn (8/5): - Beautiful lake. Quiet. No view in the room you have to sit on the porch. No bedroom TV. One bar/grill close.
- Roberta (10/5): - The lake view was so nice and peaceful
Breakfast was good-free
Staff was helpful and so pleasant
- Gina (10/5): - Stunning view.
- Scott (10/5): - We had an amazing stay! The room was comfy and had everything we needed. The view from our room was amazing!! The continental breakfast was good and the coffee was the best we had all vacation!! The staff were friendly and very helpful!! We will be back to stay!!
- Carol (10/5): - Close parking to room, and loved the kitchenette!
- Jennifer (10/5): - Very clean modern rooms in a beautiful lakeside setting. Friendly staff, great breakfast options, fun restaurant/bar across the street for dinner. Beautiful views. Would definitely stay there again. Less than 20 minutes to West Yellowstone without all the craziness.
- Kent (10/5): - Lakeview had great view of the lake
- Mohana (10/5): - This hotel is convenient for Yellow stone park
- Gandhi (10/5): - Excellent service, great hotel to stay. Very clean and modern facilities. The breakfast is awesome. The staff is very friendly.
- Larry (10/5): Nice room - Room is a one bedroom apartment. Wonderful
- Timothy (10/5): - The office person was very nice and approachable
- Martin (6/5): - We waited for 30 minutes to get checked in. Toilet paper was like magazine paper; terrible. Room was old but clean. Beds were fine.
- Ronald (10/5): - Location and how rustic it was.
- eric (8/5): - .
- Kevin (10/5): - Location
- Aqeel (6/5): - Property wasn't the tidiest. In fact, it was unclean. The musty scent in the room triggered my flu. Their AC was making so much rattling noise, I had to shut it off. Their breakfast was decent though. Staff was responsive but otherwise I wouldn't stay there again.
- Timothy (4/5): - Where to start? This property is poorly maintained, lacks basic furnishings and cries out for a makeover. Evidences are dirty refrig., frozen ice compartment in need of defrost, no ice, scarcely stocked kitchen supplies (75% of space behind cabinet doors are empty), floors and baseboards dirty, crazy decor (like granite looking base boards??), odd and dated, tight spaces, scarce furnishing and lack of any appeal. We stayed at numerous Expedia locations and other properties on 8 day trip through MT. This was the 2nd highest priced and worst condition of all. Renter beware.
- Richard (10/5): - Great suite with wonderful amenities. Clean with nice staff and breakfast.
- Lisa Ann (8/5): - The view if the lake was awesome and the size of the room was more like a condo.
- robert d (8/5): - We rented the apartment because we have a baby and we needed the kitchen. We like the fact that it was in a beautiful area, and if we had more time we would like to have explored it. The only negative was that it was a 15-minute drive from the town to the property. It probably would have been worth it if we had had the time to look around. We just came back at night and left in the morning.
- Willard (8/5): - This is a good choice for families or individuals who need a full refrigerator and cooking capabilities. There is a restaurant across the highway if walkable cooked food is desired.
The refrigerator takes 24 hours to get things really cooled down. If you want cold drinks before 24 hours, purchase ice. Also be careful about the temperature setting in the refrigerator. If you put it to max cool (level 7), I recommend turning it down to level 5 after twelve hours.
The hotel is quiet and safe. There is plenty of parking.
This property was constructed before ADA requirements took effect. There is a wheelchair ramp to the main office, but every room requires at least a few stairs. The breakfast is also up a flight of stairs. If you are wheelchair bound, this is not a recommended option.
The staff was excellent. The manager gave us the three additional bath towels we requested without any fuss. The housekeeper will only put back four sets of towels even if you turn in more than four. If you want extra, you may have to ask each day, and the manager will be happy to give them to you. The manager cares about his job and wants to take care of the guests. When the refrigerator seemed to not work at first, he asked me each day afterward if it was cooling properly.
Wi-Fi is fast and stable. There is a nice TV, but I did not use it. There is a dining table with chairs and a couch.
I will stay again if in the area.
- BaoLiang (8/5): - Good
- RAVIKIRAN (10/5): - The property was great and we had the best time.
- Jennifer (6/5): - Beautiful view of the Lake. Short distance to west Yellowstone Park. Facility was ok.
- Prasad (10/5): - Wonderful lake views, kitchen suite was useful and breakfast was great.
- Jane (10/5): - Comfortable hotel. Great breakfast. Nice area and lake view. Decor is interesting. The hvac is located in living area so bedroom door has to stay open to get circulation. Fan provided. Ample to in living area and kitchen and bath well stocked
- Susan (8/5): - My husband and I had a good stay here. We needed an affordable place with a kitchen, and Lake View Suites was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed sitting out on the porch watching the lake after a long day of hiking. The building is an older structure, but the owners have clearly worked to update it with new decor, bathroom fixtures, and lighting. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were clean. I was impressed by the attention to little touches which made the place cozy, such as the lovely hanging flowers that attracted a hummingbird every evening and the very nice breakfast they provide. Sadly, their attention to detail is a bit spotty. Chipped paint, dusty surfaces and streaked windows all give the impression of neglect rather than care. A bit more attention to maintenance and cleanliness would go a long way towards making this the cozy and inviting space that the owners clearly want it to be.
- Diana (8/5): - Nice view
- Bonnie (8/5): Traveling across country - The room was very nice with comfy bed. The check-in staff was quite rude.
The breakfast was the worst we've ever had....and we're not picky eaters. But, it was located across from a bar/restaurant that was fabulous.
- Amie (6/5): The view is about the only good thing - The person at the front desk was fantastic; however, the room was disgustingly dirty. There were bugs in the bathroom, food left on the utensils in the kitchen, and a smell in the bedroom. The air conditioning unit is in the living room area and barely reaches the bedroom. They suggested leaving the window open but for safety measures we did not. There was hardly any water pressure, and the toilet was loose from the floor. When laying on the pillows they went paper flat. The view that's on this website is just that, The view. It almost depicts as if you are staying in those cabin areas right on the water and you're not, you're staying across the street on the hill. The hotel expects you to wash the dishes before you leave which was not indicated in any of the communication when booking. Also, there isn't an elevator. The front desk did refund my last night for me, thankfully, as we had to find alternate arrangements.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Friendly environment. Clean and comfortable room. Close to West Yellowstone. The lake view is gorgeous!
- John (4/5): - Poor housekeeping.
- scott (6/5): - Over all the propety was nice. I will say its a unique place. My only complaint would be the water had a fishy smell to it. It was pretty strong. But my home is on a well and it has a bit of a sulfur smell to it. So I am guessing since this property seemed a bit out in the country side its on a well. Could also use some more lighting on the stairs. We would head into Yellowstone early in the morning before sun up and I almost fell down the outdoor stairs because of a dark area and couldnt see where I was stepping. I would recommend this place to friends as an option.
- David (8/5): - Clean
Average
No amenities
Would stay again
- Leah (8/5): - Recently renovated and tastefully done. Breakfast was pretty basic seeing how much you pay per room. View is lovely over the lake, lots of bugs at night tho so hard to make the most of the evening sitting outside.
- Rhonda (10/5): Book this place!!! - Book this place. Wow! The views and breakfast are top-notch!! Highly recommend!
- Marissa (8/5): - Service was delightful! Breakfast delicious! Suite was spacious for our family. Some updates have been made, some needed. Overall not spic and span but not questionable cleanliness. I would definitely stay again.
- Tatiana (10/5): - Amazing place to stay!
Separate bedroom and studio with sofa, dining table and kitchen.
Balcony with chairs/ bar stools.
Finally we extended our accommodation to 3 days instead of 2.
- Katie (4/5): - This property is very far out of town from West Yellowstone. It is located in a very rural area. It is very dated. I was extremely surprised at the dated decor in the room and the inn overall considering the price. There was abandoned furniture outside the motel. One door near our room was boarded up. There were no USB ports in the room. It was clean, but the first night the room had a funny smell. The furniture in the bedroom was dated. The back window was up below grade with an escape hatch, When you sit out on your patio to see the lake, other guests entry way to their room is directly in front of your patio. This property faces south so you are unable to see the sunset. The lake with mountains in the background is beautiful.
- melodie (10/5): Quiet and peaceful stay - Large with living area and bedroom. Full-size kitchen. Plenty of supplies, coffee in room. Great breakfast with lots of choices. Porch area with 2 chairs, bar and bar stools in front of door to look at the beautiful view!
- Valerie (8/5): - A little dated rooms.
- Lisu (10/5): - The beds, the fireworks on fourth of July the breakfast the balcony are all good
- Chris (10/5): - This property is a hidden gem. Conveniently located close to the park but far enough away that you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and peace after a day at the park
- Ramona (8/5): Thank you for a good stay - Nice staff, very nice. Rooms are clean, plenty of hot water, kitchen items decent. Breakfast was good, no hot eggs but bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast sticks all hot and then plenty of cold selrctions. Croissants are top knotch. This is not fancy but it is safe, about 20 minutes from the West Entrance. The sofa is not comfortable to use as a sofa, pull it out and use it to watch tv.
- Tammy (6/5): - The views of Lake Hebgen were unbeatable. It was glorious to wake up to birdsong and the sunlight on water.
The property was busy but seemed understaffed. It’s a great location and hopefully the venue will continue to improve to match.
- Alexei (10/5): - The view of the lake was fantastic. Though the property is further from the Yellowstone National Park than town of West Yellowstone, it is certainly worth the additional drive.
- Stephen (10/5): - We would definitely stay there again! The restaurant/bar across the street is amazing!
- heng (10/5): - It’s a decent hotel with reasonable price. Service is great. Lake view is great. Just a little bit far from west yellow stone park entrance.
- Valued (8/5): - We had a great stay everyone was very nice and polite.
The only thing that the place really really needs is more kitchen cooking items.
Needs a cookie sheet to be able to use the oven, bigger cooking pans, more silverware and knives.
- Kristin (2/5): - Remote and run down!
This motel has a beautiful view of Hebgen Lake and that’s the only beautiful thing about this place. Owners have misrepresented this property as being updated. It is old, has an unpleasant perfume odor that I’m sure is attempting to hide its age, along with random modern mirrors and wall coverings that gave the place a sleezy feel. We could not stay here with any peace of mind. Owners chose to keep the entire 3 nights fees. Did not refund a dime! Rough start to our Yellowstone experience
- Jaime (10/5): - .
- Phyllis (10/5): Excellent place - Beautiful setting, large comfortable room
- Jeanie (10/5): - The views were spectacular. The staff is very friendly. They are under renovation but it did not affect us at all. I wish we could have stayed longer
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful view of lake - Beautiful view of lake, with deck outside. Spacious room with 2 queen beds and couch to sleep on. Hot water. Basic cleanliness.
- Chuance (10/5): - no problem
- george jong wook (8/5): - worth driving extra miles to hotel from downtown for wonderful and serenity view of the lake
- Sue (10/5): A room with a view and kitchen - I decided not to camp in Yellowstone because it was getting too cold and I needed someplace to cook the food I had brought. It was a las minute decision and I found a kitchenette at Lake View Suites at a fabulous price.
Everything was great. I would make the suggestion of taking out the fireplace (mine didn’t work but it was not a big deal), putting a sideboard in its place and moving the coffee maker over there. Maybe the microwave too. With those two appliances in the kitchen, counter space is limited.
I loved the fact that there was a full sized fridge and stove, instead of mini versions or only having a 2-burner cooktop and claiming it as a “kitchenette”. This was a real kitchen. There was a nice set of dishes and silverware in the cupboard and some pots and pans and cooking utensils under the sink.
The view was amazing, even from my 1st floor room. I wish I could have stayed longer! But I hope I’m able to come back and stay here again in the near future!
- meryjane (10/5): - Nice location. But you can hear other guests walk and run upstair and disrupt your rest
- Ruben (10/5): - Love the place. Nice to visit Yellowstone NP
- Michelle (10/5): - Beautiful and quiet. Great views.
- Vinicius Jose (8/5): - Good
- Crisalyn (10/5): - I love the lake view itself
- Sherry (8/5): - The view was our favorite part. Beds were soft
Nice size room with kitchen and table. Breakfast was ok, but they ran out of hot food everyday before 9am. Today, coffee was empty. With No one there replenish it or anything. Plan on going out for breakfast in town. Just my 2 cents worth.
- Whitney (10/5): - As a family of 5 we greatly enjoyed our stay. The staff is very friendly and communicative via Expedia’s messaging center. Parking lot is a tad narrow, if you have a big rig it may be hard to swing into a spot. The drive is lovely just 15 min outside West Yellowstone and the view of Lake Hebgen is very pretty! Their hot continental breakfast is tasty and has a good variety. The 2nd floor is accessible via stairs only if that’s a concern for mobility. The room decor is a little hodge podge but they are nice and clean. We would totally stay there again.
- Jack (10/5): - Property was clean and well maintained. The location was perfect, great view of Lake Hebgen, very peaceful and quiet and only 17 min away from W.Yellowstone and the park entrance. We would stay here again for sure.
- Virginia (8/5): Views are great, but room left much to be desired - I loved the view, so relaxing,, but the room wasnt clean, I has to wipe something off the bathroom floor that got spilled and the paper towell was black after I cleaned the area. The carpets were dirty, the couch, was so dirty I put a towell on it to sit on it. The room smelled if smoke and fabreeze. I would've left but we were tired and had no place to go. Wish I could've recommended this to my famimy and friends, becuz the views were gorgeous.
- Julie (10/5): - Super good hot breakfast with someone keeping it very clean!
- Vickie (10/5): - It was roomy and comfortable. Could have changed up the breakfast menu a bit, but otherwise good. And could use a bit more parking space. Area was a little tight getting in, especially when the hotel was full.
- Catherine (10/5): - We will definitely be staying here again during our next Yellowstone visit. Owner/manager was very nice. Room was perfect and felt like an apartment/home away from home. Easy access to West Yellowstone.
- Milisha (10/5): - It was a great experience. Such a nice location.
- Wendy (10/5): - Overall, a great place. The suit was clean and very spacious. 10/10. The decor is off, a bit miss matching, but didn’t take away from the comfort.
- Peicheng (10/5): Great Stay and Would Recommend - My family and I had a great stay at Lake View Suites. It provided everything we needed, free breakfast of eggs, pancakes, sausages, bacon, croissants, cookies, and more. We loved that our suite had a kitchen and clean and comfortable beds. The view of the lake was beautiful and had peaceful scenery. Just as a tip, I would not recommend future visitors with children to visit the restaurant/bar across the street.
- Tara (10/5): - Beautiful view!!!
- Annie (6/5): - Too many bugs but overall nice property.
- Vipul (8/5): - Too many mosquitoes being on lake facing, stay was comfortable.
- Herlinda (10/5): - Hello we stay at lakeview suites for 5 nights. We enjoy the view from our front porch eating breakfast. The rooms are cleaned and had everything we need to cook.
- Santiago (4/5): - Even though in a convinient location the cleaningness was subpar stains all over, headboard full of sea shells covered with dust!!
- G M (10/5): Great Lake View - Amazing view of Lake Hebgen. We had great time it was supposed to be for 1 night, but we booked another for just for the view. It was not what I expected. Great breakfast and staff was very friendly and helpful, easy to talk to. Great place for family with kids. Best distance to Yellowstone Park. We were passing through and would recommend to anyone, also great restaurants close by.
- Yujian (8/5): - Lake view is great. The hotel is a little aged.
- James (6/5): It's a motel, amazing views, convenient to park - The location of this motel is amazing, with a great view of the lake, and just 15 minutes from town, I recommend TR's Burgers.
Key points are lack of AC in the bedroom, questionable cleanliness, and poor maintenance.
*Nice fixtures, but poorly installed in the bathroom.
*Nice sheets and beds.
*Broken door jam repaired with oversized wood and broken pieces of the old trim.
***No AC or fans in the bedroom, sleep with the door open.
*Futon is ok, but blocks the door and takes up most of the small room.
*AC filter looks like it was NEVER cleaned.
*Bathtub was clogged, how could it have been cleaned? (Promptly fixed when reported)
*$15 fee per dish left unclean. Does that mean they don't clean them and trust that the previous guest did a good job?
*Bugs? Of course, it's by a lake, but no issues inside the room or specific to the property. I recommend unplugging the bug zapper outside the door, those attract bugs.
***Breakfast was good, hot, and plentiful.
*Service is friendly and prompt, but you have to track them down.
*There's no phone in the room and they don't answer calls most of the time anyway.
*Early check in was no problem when I finally got through after 2 hours of trying to call.
*Front desk was otherwise locked outside of check in and out hours.
*Amazing view, but the patio is the shared outside walkway and half of it is right next to the AC blowing hot air and noise as you try to get cool air I to the bedroom.
- Thomas A (2/5): - The listing is vey deceiving. They failed to mention about the mosquitoes and flies. The bedroom does not have air it was hot and did not get enough rest at night. They had a fan that was so loud. When mentioned this issues I was told oh you could open the windows and you could ask for mosquito spray. I am thinking of calling the health and safety department of Montana we got bit by so many mosquito s. Be aware of this property before booking.
- Daniela (10/5): - Mr Lee was great to deal with. Very helpful and kind. Also A.J. (Front desk) was very polite and helpful as well. Good price on the room and clean overall..
- Amor (6/5): - Bugs, mosquitoes
- Kimberly (6/5): - There was a smell in the room and the walls need a fresh coat of paint.
- Brenda (6/5): - The view was amazing. The room needed a good deep clean and had a musty smell.
Breakfast was not worth eating.
- Melanie (8/5): - Beautiful scenery!! Close to West Yellowstone.
- Stacey (10/5): - Such a wonderful place!! We loved staying here, especially the view! Very peaceful and quiet.
- Jing (10/5): A great stay at Yellowstone!!! - Lakeview Suites was an enjoyable stay. My family and I enjoyed the lovely lake view, especially during the nighttime where the moon would shine beautifully on the water. There were nice outside seating areas right outside of our room. The breakfast area was very accessible on the second floor. Food items were delicious and a variety. We enjoyed the sausages, eggs, noodles, and cookies! Also loved the kitchen.
- Mary (6/5): Lake view was the only amazing thing! - Office was closed on arrival, 3:40pm. Charged wrong card. Futon was gross, stained and stinky. Office closed on checkout. Definitely not what I expected from the photos.
- Val (10/5): - Nice place! Highly recommend
- Jie (10/5): - clean room. quiet area. rich free breakfast. the view is a plus. bar and burgers within walking distance. extra 15 mins of driving is very acceptable.
- Mindy (10/5): Loved Lakeview Suites! - We had a GREAT stay here at Lakeview Suites! Our desk host was so friendly and came up to our room when we had questions about our heater offering to come back if we needed him to. My husband and I were just here overnight with our 2 teenage sons and had plenty of room and a GREAT view! We ordered dinner from the saloon across the street and it was great, too! Breakfast at the hotel was perfect to grab and hit Yellowstone! Loved our stay here!
- Georgia (10/5): - Beautiful stay! Plenty of room for me and my husband during an anniversary trip. Highly recommend if you are planning on going to Yellowstone for your stay - the extra 15 minutes is worth it!
- Lisa (8/5): - The view of the lake was spectacular!! This place was comfortable, clean and well-run. Highly recommend it, not too far from the West entrance of Yellowstone.
- NAOKI (10/5): - a light above sofa was out(it didn't work out).rest are fine, great.
- William (8/5): - Overall great. Beautiful view of lake. Beds could use upgrade but rooms were very clean.
- Joseph (10/5): - The view is amazing, simply beautiful. Our room was very clean. The property doesn't look maintained very well other than that it was a great stay.
- Melissa (10/5): Quiet hotel with a beautiful view - Out of the way hotel with a beautiful view! Loved the room and wish we could have stayed longer but this was a quick trip for us. Close drive to West Yellowstone so that was a plus as well. Also talked to a couple different staff members and they were very nice.
