Guest Reviews
- Christina (10/5): - Super friendly and helpful staff. Location was very convenient with secured uncovered parking. Room was very comfortable and the breakfast was great! Will definitely stay here again in the future!
- Margaret (10/5): - The location is very convenience from train station and going to Venice. Recommend this hotel.
- Lisa (10/5): - Fantastic hotel for families. Very accommodating. We arrived well past midnight and they weny above and beyond. Very clean and comfortable beds. One complaint is there are no laundry facilities even though Expedia description has them listed. Absolutely will stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice, clean great access to Venice by bus and train.
- Efrat (10/5): - The property is newly renovated. 5 min walk to the train, which is one stop away from Venice. Or you can take the bus which is right outside the doors of the hotel. Parking is great and secure. The only issue is that there are no shops or restaurants close by, so you need to commute.
- Craig A (10/5): - The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room had a couple of items that needed work, but we would return again.
- Coriolan (10/5): - Very clean very nice
- Daniela (8/5): - The hotel is clean, it's right behind the train station, however the area is very industrial. We booked 2 nights with breakfast and when we got to the hotel they told us we didn't pay for the breakfast. The booking on Expedia didn't show this detail.
- Andor (10/5): - Excellent room, service; very clean; convenient location close to Marghieri station; safe parking in closed lot; close to train tracks, but not noisy with windows closed. Excellent breakfast. Excellent value for the price all around.
Recomendamos demais !
- Boris (6/5): - Not the nicest property
- Ludivina (8/5): - Staf was very nice, room was clean and very cozy
- Charles (10/5): - Room is very clean, bathroom is big, people are very nice. We walked back to the hotel from Venice in the afternoon, enjoyed afternoon sun and view from top of the bridge. There is a supermarket 5 minutes walk from the hotel, you can find an Italian Merlot at €1.89.
Strong recommend this hotel.
Wei from Toronto.
- Joyce (8/5): Nice hotel, great value - Everything was great except the pillows were flat and super firm. And having neck issues, the flat, hard, pillows made for very little sleep. We had a rental car, so the location worked for us, but without a vehicle, getting around to restaurants would be nearly impossible.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Best thing: bus stop in front of hotel! - It’s rather old and tired, could use an upgrade but it was clean and the service was good. The bed could be more comfortable. The best thing about this hotel is there’s a bus stop in front of the door to get to Venice Sta Lucia and back!
- Reylito (6/5): - The place is around industrial area. The room is average. The staff were VERY FRIENDLY and HELPFULL! Breakfast is extra $ and the shuttle/taxi to airport and Cruise port is also extra $. The hotel is about 15 minutes away to the main bus terminal in Venice. There is a BUS stop in front of the hotel but only till 6:45 pm. Otherwise, the train is about 15 minutes walk if you miss the bus later than 6:45 pm.
- Svetlana (8/5): - It's too far from the grocery stores where you can buy a cup of tea or coffee. The room service doesn’t provide it. You can have a cup of coffee or tea only at breakfast time.
- JUAN PABLO (10/5): - Very good
- Donna (8/5): Mostly happy. - The overall stay was great. The staff at the front desk was very helpful. We had a bus stop to Venice right outside the building. Everything else was a minimum 10 minute walk. An elderly gentleman whom I believe was a manager was very blah and seemed to be inconvenienced by our request for a hotel transfer to the airport which they provide upon request. He didn’t even help us load the luggage and only had conversation when we asked a question. The hotel room was a nice size, comfortable and clean BUT WATCH OUT FIR THE SHIWER STALL. It has a 6 to 8 inch border that is extremely slippery and my friend at 71 years old fell and landed on her hip and neck. She is sore, battered and bruised but THANK GOD nothing broken. BE CAREFUL!
- Phil (8/5): - Trein langs het hotel is ook met gesloten ramen hoorbaar
- armen (8/5): - Nice property for 1-2 days
- Cory (10/5): - Bus stop literally outside main door for bus that goes to Venice in roughly 15 minutes. Buses run every 1/2hr.
- Jordan (8/5): - Next to train tracks and next to an abandon house.
- Simon (10/5): Overnight stay near Venice - We book this hotel as an overnight stay near Venice on the way through to an alternative location. The hotel is located on the mainland but there is a bus stop outside which you can use to transfer you to and from Venice island There is also a train station located approximately 5 minutes walk. There is a secure car park attached to the hotel which is good. Staff were welcoming and very helpful with advice. You can also buy bus tickets from the front counter. Room was small but clean and functional and the air conditioning worked well. The bed was comfortable. As a note if you wish to do any very early morning or late night photography on Venice island, public transportation finishes at approximately midnight and does not begin again until about 6:00 a.m.
- Hemant (10/5): - Staff were very helpful.
- Dale (4/5): - Staff gave poor ir incorrect information a number of times.
- JoAnn (10/5): - The staff were exceptional.
They helped in so many ways to make our stay so enjoyable. We would definitely recommend to others.
- harry (8/5): - Even though the properly is in an industrial area, the cleanliness, staff friendliness convenience to shopping and proxikity to the lagoon city and ease to get there by bus, is a big plus .
- Julie (8/5): - The location was great if you want to go into Venice because a train stop is about 600 Meters away. Unfortunately, that is the only thing that is close. The hotel is located in an industrial area with no conveniences around. Another positive is that f you have a car, there is a gated parking lot.
- Jeff (8/5): - The property was great, staff was superbly helpful, breakfast was ample and the property was conveniently located for Venice.
Cheap bus ride, train or taxi would recommend and definitely stay there again
- zhihua (10/5): - good
- Arbeleena (8/5): - Such a great find. Great staff, clean rooms, and easy to get to Venice. We loved the private parking lot, and it was still very close to the airport.
- Olivia (10/5): - Really good access to Venice and then out of the city with buses and trains available from 0-15min walks without being in crowded areas. Staff was nice breakfast was good. Room was clean and nice to stay in. Only thing wifi wasn’t working the first day in the room but good hotel wifi is hard to come by anyways. Overall made our trip to Venice smooth and enjoyable.
- George (10/5): - This was a shuttle bus right out the front to Venice. The train shuttle to Venice was a ten minute walk.
- Rina (6/5): - The partition between the shower space and lavatory was loose. It means there is a gap under the partition. So the water is flowing during taking shower and the floor around the lavatory soaked wet.
But we could take a rest comfortability.
Thank you
- Kayla (10/5): - Staff was super helpful. They helped me figure the bus & train system, as well as swlling bus passes. The bus stop is directly in front of the hotel, which is awesome. The breakfast was delicious and I enjoyed an espresso at their bar when I came back in the evenings. The bed was comfy and worked for my tourist needs. I would definitely come here again. 👍
- Verified traveler (10/5): Loved our stay - Great hotel. Staff super helpful. Although the hotel doesn't have shops right next to it, it is SUPER easy to get about. Breakfast was great!! We will be back.
- Antonio (6/5): Modest hotel. Great location - Modest small room with 3 beds. Quiet. Very simple breakfast served by personal (croissant, cheese, ham and bread). No toaster, no butter/jam. Fridge in the room didn’t work. The best is the location. You can take bus 43 from the hotel door and you are in Venice in 15 minutes for 1.5€.
- Sondra (10/5): - Easy access to transportation.
- Jamal N (10/5): - Conveniently located to Venise with hotel shuttle makes this hotel a good choice for a short stay. Friendly staff. Rooms are on the small side
- Annah Marie (10/5): - Everything was great! Got tickets there to get to downtown Venice for very cheap. Parking was easy, room was clean and the staff was incredible. They made us a sandwich in the middle of the day which was very sweet. We would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Plus:
- Price is competitive compared to others
- Free and spacious parking
- Public transport at front of hotel (in case you need it)
Minus:
- seems not clean, wierd order of pillow and carpet
- poor condition of some facilities in our room: 1. shower spray can not be supported by the handle, so we had to use one hand to hold it during shower. 2.the toilet flush button is not working properly, we had to push few times to make sure there is no water flow after flushing
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great stay - Hotel Alveri was great. The staff was very accommodating. When we told them we had an early train to catch and we have to leave before breakfast, they accommodated and told us that it will be served earlier. The front desk lady was also really helpful in giving us information on trains and buses to Venice. The hotel is only 15-20 minutes away by bus to the city center and the stop is right at front so it’s very convenient.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Bed bugs - Bed bug bites all over my legs, arms, back
- Verified traveler (10/5): - WiFi and air conditioning worked. Shower nice. Small bathroom and tv but best hotel we stayed at in Italy
- David (10/5): Great base to explore wonderful Venice. - We had a great stay in a very clean and comfortable room with some advice and tips from the very helpful staff on the reception desk. The hotel provided a very tasty buffet continental breakfast with usual fair along with a very nice selection of pastries. Convenient bus stop outside the hotel for access to the train station in Mastre and Piazza Roma in Venice.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great hotel - The hotel is very clean, (just very small bathroom), friendly staff, breakfast is not wide range of food but great, free breakfast, free parking and great location if you want to go to Venice. The bus stop is in front of the hotel and you get to Venice in about 15 minutes.
I would recommend this hotel and I would be back again.
- Richard (8/5): Good choice - Good choice
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean hotel with lovely Continental breakfast. Close to bus stations for travelling to Venice. Super friendly staff at front desk.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The show was very small with the shower unit getting the way no matter how you turn.
- MARTIN (10/5): - Great option as opposed to staying in Venice. Bus is immediately outside the hotel and goes every 15 minutes and you are in place do Roma within 15 minutes. Swift and efficient, and hotel staff were very helpful. I was here for a football game on San’Elena and was even told what vaporetto to get to get to that far end of the island quickly
- Andrew (8/5): Cosy and Impossible to get lost!! - Very easy to get on bus43 from where Airport Bus leaves u at train station. Single room very tiny BUT WITH PRIVATE Bathroom. but comfortable and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Wide choice of breakfast from cereals to f fruits to boiled eggs and lots of different types of delicious pastries.. could not taste all... but very nice. Elevator is there and works nice. Bus stop to venice bus station to take ferries/water taxi to San karco or other islands is the same stop when you got off on arrival. it takes about 25mins. Get your bus pass from the hotel lobby. it costs 1.50euro. on the bus it is DOUBLE 3.00euros. You can also get a 24 hr pass bus and air taxi unlimited trips for 20euros and in my opinion.. it is worth it.
- Radek (6/5): - Hotel is clean with friendly staff.
I would appreciate if the location description included “next to a train tracks”
Windows almost sealed the noise, but location is terrible.
I don’t mind to walk 20min anywhere, but it’s through car dealerships and warehouses.
Bit overpriced for $100 / night
- Toni (10/5): Great place to stay! - Nice and clean place. Staff was really helpful, and especially the lady in the reception deserves extra credit!
- Olga (10/5): Perfect for a couple of days stay with a car - Good location of the hotel if you travel by car. Nice parking space. Very comfortable rooms with everything needed incl. fridge. Rooms are with air-condition so you don't feel the outside heat. Good soundproofing of the rooms or rather calm area helped us to had a great undisturbed sleep on comfy beds. Tasty breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It provides a great base for visiting Venice. Bus to Venice stops right outside. Rooms are comfortable and bathroom facilities perfectly adequate. The price is the clincher
- Verified traveler (6/5): - We didnt care forvtheir strict rule about eating anything in our room, or you would be fined. And the Headboard was all ripped.
The Gentelman at the front desk, the concierge, was very profeshional.
The Breakfast served was nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The young man at the front desk was extremely helpful and kind.
The breakfast was excellent.
The hotel is perfectly situated for those wanting to easily visit Venice without having to deal with the hassles of getting in and out of Venice parking and hotels.
It was a lovely stay.
- geoff (10/5): Tidy and hassle free - Hotel as described. Middle of industrial area, but only 25 mins by bus to venice. Chose this hotel as staying on the island means no driving up with bags to front door. Bigger room with decent shower and toilet. Supermarket 350m from maestra station. Always a tradeoff against comfort v convenience.
- Liz (10/5): Great option - I booked this hotel after reading hotel.com reviews and was certainly happy with everything. We left our hire car in the car park and took the bus which was right at the door, into Venice. About a 15 min ride, no stress, no parking costs in Venice etc. the hotel was clean and had everything that we required, even a little balcony. View wasnt spectacular but the room was well soundproofed so no issues there. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful and friendly. The airport is only around 8km from the hotel so once again easy to get there. Highly recommend if you dont mind not being right in Venice central area
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent breakfast and very nice clean room. Friendly staff and good transportation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The public bus to Venice picks you up right outside the lobby entrance. You are in Venice in twenty minutes. The hotel has nice sized clean comfortable rooms. The complimentry breakfast has many options.
- Carole (10/5): Great place. - Stay was very comfortable and easy access to Venice. Breakfast was delicious.
Would definitely stay again.
- syed (10/5): Fabulous - simply excellent and amazing...will definitely recommend and stay again
- Almir (10/5): Best Hotel if you drive to Venice! - I was a bit worried cause the photos were not great! I travel a lot and I loved this little hotel it’s just outside the Venice island and he vast parking and it’s a secluded quiet street the bus straight to Venice stops at the door step of the hotel, the receptionist are amazingly helpful, the rooms and smoke and cost bathroom a bit small. I believe hotel have been de clay refurbished cause everything is brand new, nice simple breakfast. I recommend this hotel if you like me drive to Venice.
- Johan (8/5): Modern, no-nonsense accommodation, close to Venice - Hotel Alveri is a no-nonsense hotel based in an industrial area of Mestre, but with plenty of free parking if one arrives with an own car (like we did), or alternatively bus stops right in front of the door with frequent departures if one uses public transport (like we did the day we went to Venice).
I call it no-nonsense, because it has everything one could wish for in a hotel, but no frills, and not a central location - it is perfect for travellers who want to have a comfortable night to stay in a freshly newly built hotel, but isn't planning to be in the hotel for any extended periods of time.
It seems like the designer of the hotel might have aimed for a little more luxury than is practical in a hotel - the bathroom taps are somewhat hard to figure out, and at least the one in ur room started to be a little loose because people had tried to turn it the wrong way. The shower had been incorrectly installed, so the floor had cracked, and the partial fix seemed very off-hand, I guess moisture will be seeping into the floor over time there.
But, that said - it is still in good shape now, and if some more effort is put on maintenance it'll continue being a place that many travellers can enjoy in the future.
The breakfast buffet is generous, and has cheeses and cold cuts - something us northern Europeans enjoy and do not always receive in Italy.
- mary rose (10/5): - GREAT PLACE TO STAY. NOTHING FANCY, CLEAN, STAFF IS HELPFUL, SHUTTLE SERVICE TO TRAIN, RESTAURANTS AND AIRPORT. WE WILL BOOK BACK IN THE SPRING
- Verified traveler (8/5): okay - okay stay
- Emily (8/5): Good hotel with a couple small negatives - Good hotel, clean, great place to save money versus staying right in Venice. Some small complaints: the shower is at a very weird angle and makes it pretty hard to shower (and I am a small person), there is a policy for no food or eating in rooms, and lastly the main train tracks were right outside our window so it was pretty noisy. The bus stop is right outside the hotel but you have to take that bus down the street to the main station then get on another bus to Venice. It’s ok once you figure it out, or you can walk about 15-20 mins from the hotel to the main station, although currently there is a lot of construction in the area.
- Alyssa (8/5): - Good value. Not the most comfortable bed & pillows but otherwise good. Breakfast was an impressive spread. Room was a nice size. Despite being next to the train tracks, was not loud. If you ask the front desk for help, it can be simple to get to historical Venice. There is a bus stop right by the hotel. Room had air conditioning but access was through the front desk. Hotel WiFi was decent (better than several we’ve experienced).
- John (4/5): - Not closed to bus station to Venice. In sun day, public transportation is not available. Walkway from Mestr and the hotel may not be safe in night. Biting bugs in outside of hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Ok hotel. Not spectacular not terrible either. The bed wasn't really comfortable, could have better beds.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean, staff was great and the included breakfast was awesome! Liked that they have an airport shuttle too.
- ovais (10/5): - Room was clean and cozy. Room had all basic amenities and in good working condition. Shower area could be better as water would seep out if not closed very properly..
- Vlad (10/5): - The staff is very nice and helpful. The hotel is located 8min walking distance from train station.
- Kaylin (8/5): Ask about hotel's local shuttle - Decent hotel, but room was small for two adults. Breakfast was delicious with a variety: cereal, yogurt, fruit, bread, coffee, tea, juice, milk, pastries, cucumbers, deli meats and cheese.
Hotel is 10 to 15 min walking distance from 5 restaurants. Not much else around. Probably best to rent a car if you stay here.
For 5 Euros take hotel shuttle to Venice St. Lucia station (one way). Buy tix for the water bus at reception. This is not offered. We had to ask. Otherwise you will take a 10 min cab ride for a flat rate of 25 Euros, to the Venice St. Lucia station.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Hotel - We reserved this hotel for our trip to Venice since a good and clean hotel in Venice was super expensive. Everything about this hotel was great. The breakfast was perfect. The room was new, super clean and stylish. And the best part was their service. The staff was so friendly and very helpful (they even gave us a free ride to the train station). I would definitely recommend it.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Stayed for two nights. Great hotel, good people and service, nothing to complain about. Free car parking, 15 min bus commute to Piazzale Roma with bus stop right in front of the hotel. Clean and spacious room, quiet and soundproofed , A/C , free wifi in the room. Will stay again. My #1 hotel choice in Mestre.
- Martyn (8/5): Nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff - Very nice hotel with clean rooms and friendly staff. It is in a quiet area, essentially an industrial estate, and it is easy to get into Venice as the bus stops right outside the hotel. The buses don't run on Sunday therefore it's a 15 minute walk to Mestre railway station where the trains run far more frequently.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I chose this hotel to park my rental car as obviously no cars in Venice. My only complaint is that the bus schedule does not accommodate if want to return to the Hotel after 9:30 pm.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The location wasn’t the greatest, but the place was super clean, the staff was super friendly
- Olesya (10/5): - The hotel was in a very good location, walking distance to the bus station that could take you to Venice. The breakfast was delicious and it was convienant that the receptionist spoke English to give us information on where to go and what to see. Overall it was a great experience and I highly recommend this hotel.
- IngridJustine (8/5): Usually near a bus - The bus (sometimes) stops outside the hotel, but not on Sundays and only if the driver of the bus feels like it or thinks you gave the right signal. The hotel itself is fine, it's just away from everything and not always conveniently near to transportation.
- Rosen (8/5): - Everything was perfect! The cleanest hotel that we ever been!
- Raymon (8/5): - The hotel is a little in the middle of nowhere when you first arrive but don’t let that fool you. There is a good bus service to the city and it only takes 15 minutes. Only downside is that the bus service doesn’t stop directly at the hotel after 10pm but it’s only a short walk or cab from the station. The staff was extremely nice and informative and they provide a great service where you can buy your transportation tickets at the reception. Very handy and would definitely recommend.
- Tod (8/5): Diamond in the Rough - This hotel is a diamond in the rough! It was easy to find, and parking was not an issue as it has a gated lot. The room was nice, and the breakfast was good. While the area surrounding the hotel is not great, we went there for the easy access to the bus to get to Venice. The hotel sells bus passes, and the pick up spot is right outside. A quick bus ride to enjoy Venice, and an easy drop off right back to the hotel. This was a nice hotel to stay while we enjoyed touring Venice.
- Debbra (8/5): Weekend in Venice - The hotel was clean, the staff was nice, it is just that it is in middle of an industrial area. No food for at least half a mile. Trains don't run on Sundays so they charge you for pick up/drop off at the train station. I would stay again possibly for one overnight - not for a weekend in Venice
- Debbra (8/5): An OK Hotel - Clean with nice people. - The hotel is an ten minute walk through an industrial area for any food in the evenings so that is not really convenient but not bad. My only real complaint is that there is no bus service on Sundays and they charge 1.5 Euros to take you/pick you up from bus station. Although they indicate it is only a short distance from the train station, to get there you would have to walk through a construction area which made I unpleasant (but not impossible) to walk. I felt a bit like I was being nickled and dimed. The hotel was clean and reasonably priced. The breakfast was very good.
- Morgan (10/5): - Staff was warm and welcoming. Before our trip they answered all our and even helped us arrange transportation from airport. The driver waited for us even though our plan was late and didn’t get through customs until after midnight😀
- Sheldon (8/5): - Close to train station and bus stop to take you into Venice. Friendly staff. OK wi-fi. I didn't get to try the breakfast as I had an early train to catch but it smelled good!
- victor (8/5): - Service was excellent. Room very clean. Small but functional and everything needed for a one night stay. Very convenient to Venice! They let us leave our car parked and stowed our luggage all day while we were in Venice! Only con is that the beds are much firmer than we’re used to.
- Jose (6/5): Sketchy location - Hotel appeared to be near the train station so we decided to walk. Bad idea. Streets seemed more like back alleys with minimum lighting. Staff was friendly. No restaurants near the hotel. Staff were eager to recommend us restaurants and assured us the area was safe. While walking (not even 10pm), we noticed we were being followed. On our way back we had to pay a taxi to avoid similar situation.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect locatiom for to bus to Venice. - Hotel very clean and comfortable, staff professional and polite. Easy to get to Venice from hotel.
- Samantha (10/5): Just where you should be to explore - Hotel is in an industrial area but it's a lovely place to stay with the bus stop right outside to take you to venice. Close to bus station/train station. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very clean and nice continental breakfast.
- Chantelle (10/5): Nice little hotel between Venice Island & airport - The front desk (Thomas) was super friendly!! very helpful and great at communicating in advance of arrival to arrange shuttle pick up at the airport. Room was clean, on the smaller side, but met expectations and needs. My only 3 disappointments were
1. the air conditioning never came on, even after Thomas came in to lower it manually, luckily this time of year is not extra hot, so i was able to open the window for some breeze, however no screens on the windows, and we were street level so that was a little risky and did result in mosquito bites :(
2: the beds, looked great, but were VERY hard and uncomfortable, we woke up mid night with very sore hips/backs.
3: the wifi didn't work, front desk was unable to trouble shoot and find out why it wasn't working. This was a big disappointment for me as I picked the hotel based on wifi being available., so this was frustrating.
Breakfast was decent. and the seating for breakfast was very nice. Was a bit surprised to find out that restaurants closed at 1:30pm and 2:30pm on friday, we barely made it to a place to eat after arriving from the airport. Would have been great if the hotel had 'snacks' or vending or otherwise able to provide food in the 'off' hours as there was nothing in safe walking distance to eat.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great experience! Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful!
- ROLAND (4/5): - If you're looking for a budget hotel, this one is ok. Not much amenities but just a place to sleep and bathe.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Nice hotel, easy to get around - The room was clean, a good size and comfortable. The staff where very helpful and always available.
