Guest Reviews
- Peter (9/5): -
- sarah (10/5): A lovely overnight stay. - We had a lovely, comfortable room and were made to feel very welcome from start to finish. Breakfast was prepared and ready for our agreed time and was tasty. It was a 5 minute walk down to the local pub for tea and a great location for an overnight stay on our way further into Scotland.
- Lynn (10/5): -
- Nicky (10/5): Comfortable with beautiful views. - A quiet guest house, very comfortable bed and amazing breakfast. Very handy location for us, we went for dinner at Traquair Hotel which was a 6 minute walk. Glen tres and Traquir House were a very quick drive (or cycle) away. Nothing
- Caroline (10/5): Perfect stay - Immaculate B&B in a lovely quiet spot. Our room had a view of the garden and hills, the only noise was an owl. Really friendly welcome, amazing breakfast. Great facilities and parking.
- Anne (9/5): Very comfortable and restful place to stop off on a journey. - Modern, comfortable and spacious Nothing
- Philip (10/5): - Great room and lovely breakfast. Wonderful owners.
- Thomas (10/5): Wir fühlten uns sehr willkommen. - Gute Lage, sehr guter Service. --
- Georgia (10/5): Wonderful! - We have just returned home from a wonderful 1 night stay at Glede Knowe for our anniversary. After the weather stopped our camping trip in the Pentlands, we were looking for somewhere last minute to stay.
From the moment we arrived, we could tell that this lovely guest house was a warm, family-run and idyllic place to stay. We were welcomed by Guy, who was very friendly and had lots of tips to share about the local area. The room was lovely and clean, and looked onto the wonderful well-kept garden and mountains. We also happened to see a few rabbits! When I booked the room, I put in a couple of requests with it being a special occasion, and these were very kindly accommodated, and we are very appreciative to Lesley and Guy.
Breakfast was delicious and was served very quickly. We had a full cooked breakfast in the lounge room with a lovely view of the mountains. There was also a variety of fruit, cereal and juice to help yourself to which we thought was very generous. Again, Guy had all the best recommendations and we only wish we had more time in the area!
In terms of personal touch, the decoration of the house is very charming. In the corridor, the hosts supply an array of books and DVD’s, have local guides in the room with their personal recommendations, and also allow you to choose your own breakfast via a checklist when you check-in.
Overall, we had a wonderful stay, will definitely be back wont hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Thank you Lesley and Guy for helping to make our anniversary truly special.
- Jerry (10/5): The very best Guest House i've ever stayed at, including many hotels both 3 and 4***** - Everything, from Guy, who proved to be an excellent host with acute attention to every detail, the room was fantastic, spotlessly clean and super king size bed.

- Michael (9/5): Definitiv empfehlenswert!

The location was perfect with fabulous views of the Tweed Valley set in a quiet location. The room and en-suite were warm and comfortable affording a good nights sleep and a good shower in the morning. The breakfast was excellent and offered a wide range of food including fresh fruit and yogurt locally sourced. The cooked breakfast was also excellent before setting out to explore the area. We hope to return in 2025. The car park was a bit daunting at first as the space is quite tight but we got used to the steep slope.

- Broderick (10/5): Better accommodation and welcome than a 4* hotel in America that we recently stayed in - We stayed at the Glede Knowe Guest House for one night before traveling on to Edinburgh. The accommodation was fantastic, we had a large en-suite room which was very clean and comfortable the bed was lovely. We arrived late due to traffic hold ups but everything went very smoothly when we arrived, we were given a breakfast menu to choose what we wanted to have for breakfast in the morning, there was a large of options enough to satisfy everyone. We walked down to the local pub later in the enjoyed a home cooked meal which was very very good.
Breakfast the next day was absolutely wonderful and plentiful, with a good selection of cereals fruit yogurt's and fruit toast and fruit juice available along side a cooked breakfast. We opted for porridge, well you just have to in Scotland don't you? followed by a freshly cooked breakfast which was excellent. We Both opted for Tea and we were brought a large pot which was fantastic (I like my tea strong) in fact it was probably one of the best I've had that I haven't made for myself.
We only stayed for one night but we would have been happy if we were here for a week or longer. I would not hesitate in recommending the Glede Knowe Guest House to anyone, and I would definitely stay here again. Absolutely nothing, no complaints at all about this accommodation or our hosts
