- Hannah (10/5): Wonderful Stay with friendly staff and clean lovely rooms! Food was delicious - Lovely stay with super welcoming staff and delicious food. Room was very comfortable and would definitely return! The rooms were rather warm which was the only problem that was encountered whilst here.
- Deb (10/5): Amazing! - Ver clean and modern and comfortable Slightly too hot in the room
- Chris (8/5): - The staff were welcoming, the service at dinner was good, the room was comfortable, very clean, and modern. The location and surroundings are very nice. The food was disappointing, both in the evening and at breakfast. Breakfast is expensive for what it was and it wasn't clear that coffee wasn't included.

- Rebecca (9/5): - Quirkiness of the building was nice and inviting. Staff friendly and helpful. Had everything you needed in the rooms. Dinner at night and breakfast in the morning were fantastic using good quality ingredients. Compliments to the chef. Serving staff very attentive.

Enjoyed our stay.
- H (3/5): A room above a pub -
- Gill (10/5): Just right - Beautiful decor and furniture, not cluttered but enough to not make it feel stark. There was a feeling of space

- Alexander (5/5): A half hearted staff experience & poor food didn't match the over promising marketing we'd read! - The room was clean and a good size! The more mature female member of staff stepped forward to recover the dismal service the young lady who greeted us had provided, (clearly embarrassed by the attention we were given,) she saved the day! At least for getting us to our room, but she left before dinner!
A good breakfast!
Plenty of parking space and close to the NEC! 20 mins... The service was abysmal other than the more mature lady who stepped up!
Greeted at the bar by a young girl who told us to go to another member of staff that was already busy and walked off with other customers! The same reluctant girl came across, asked our name & said you're room 11! No further guidance was offered, so I asked for directions to the room & asked if we needed a key? She pointed at a door to go through & said the keys in the room! At this point the older lady rapidly came across saving the day & seeing us to our room!
We waited to be served at dinner was staff chatted amongst themselves, (more staff than customers!)
With plenty of space in the dining room we were squeezed into a row of three tables to make it easier for the staff!
Whilst the decor, and the presentation of the food was good, the food was tasteless, though we asked for no capers on the fish, it arrived with no sauce either, dry and also flavourless! It all tasted like pre packed microwaved food, but cant be sure, very disappointing given the media images and presentation!
A drinks order was messed up, the lights went up and down due to an adjacent Party we had not been notified of, wanting dimmed lights for their disco, apparently the lights have to be on full in the dining area for the function suite to have dimmed lights can you believe! We left with hot heads!
From the marketing we were expecting a fabulous meal, it was a disaster! When we got up to sign dinner to our room, we were told (despite having given our card details twice to book the table & separately for the room) that they had no way of charging it to the room as the systems weren't working, with cash only in my pocket I paid but wasn't given my change, it was automatically assumed to be a tip!

- Gilligan (8/5): Picturesque location, lovely rooms and restaurant - Lovely large room and comfy bed Liked everything

- Jessica (10/5): Great location and comfy bed - Beautiful building and decor Nothing

- Ruth (5/5): Nice venue & room, not good for light sleepers - We stayed in the family room (room 5) Location, facilities & food was good, staff very helpful. Modern room. Constant noise throughout the night from underneath is, maybe kitchen, like an extractor running, kept us awake on & off all night.
- Giblin (4/5): - A nice building in a nice location. The bar and restaurant were very nice. The staff were very nice. The room was far too hot due to there being a large hot water tank, for the building, in a cupboard in the room. There were no controls for the intended heating in the room. The lighting was not bright enough. The plug in the sink was missing. The heat made our stay uncomfortable and disrupted our sleep.

- Aminah (9/5): Well worth it ! - Location beautiful, very clean & the price was worth it .
We didn’t go down to the bar for religious purposes but we knew it was a a pub guesthouse and it would be busy downstairs til 11pm but the location, cleanliness ,value for money and good manners was most important ,so for us ,it was a very good choice & their are good restaurants nearby if one prefers . Everything was lovely.

- Tom (2/5): - The location The manager behind the bar with the bald head was rude, with a bad attitude. Arrived back to have a night cap at 11.35pm I was asked by bar staff if I was staying there I said yes. Then the said manager told me he had taken the till off.dont advertise that you close at 12 if you close at 11.30. bathroom covered in mold, there was clearly a leak coming through the ceiling in the bathroom.
- Paula (7/5): Pleasant - lovely surroundings. - Some minor maintenance necessary in the room to bring it back up to standard. Breakfast was expensive - no option for cafetière or second cup of coffee (without paying for a second cup), and the room was cold unfortunately.
- Lisa (8/5): 1 night stay - It was a really lovely chilled vibe, I felt really at home and comfortable in the hotel
The food was great and good value for money we had 2 lovely meals
The room was comfortable and clean
The staff are professional and friendly and did anything for you The room was so noisy , we were above the kitchen so sleep really disrupted which didn't help the 4 hour drive home the next day. There were doors below the room being slammed so hard the bed shook. there was a loud hum from below that stopped only to be replaced with another noise that didn't stop . Had we been there more than 1 night we would have had to ask to be moved.
Having said that this was the only issue and we would return no problem just in a different room

- Ross (9/5): No fuss, clean, comfortable stay. - Decent room size including bathroom. Relaxing decor. Unclear as to whether or not breakfast was included.
- Rebecca (9/5): Hidden gem - Gem of a find. Parking available and easy, lovely restaurant food, delightful room with great bathroom. Definitely recommend and 100% would use again.
- Sonia (10/5): - This place is a hidden gem. It's so friendly, clean and so professional. The staff are amazing so welcoming. The atmosphere is great, the room was beautiful and we had the best nights sleep. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and were truly so lovely. Would definitely go again and recommend!

- Mandi (7/5): Nice for one night - Welcoming staff. The room was spacious and warm, nice decor! We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a decent experience, but there were a few maintenance issues that stood out. The shower door came off its rail when we tried to use it, and there was a bit of mould in the shower tray. The hot water tap was also extremely stiff and difficult to turn off. The TV kept flickering and only worked properly after we fiddled with the plug.
The room itself was clean, but the blanket at the end of the bed could definitely do with a wash. We could also hear doors opening and closing from the pub below, which may bother light sleepers. The window in our room was broken and couldn’t be opened — not a major issue in colder months, but something to be aware of.
With these maintenance issues sorted, the stay would easily have been a 9/10

- Bonneau (10/5): Parfait !

- Michael (8/5): - Nice venue polite staff, evening meal good Roomy smelt of sewage on arrival
- Tina (10/5): An absolute gem - What a gem!
Comfy, comfortable room really nicely appointed
Fabulous food A unit/ shelf in the bathroom to put wash bag on would be helpful, but this is minor and wouldn’t put us off booking again
- Justine (9/5): -
- Jacqui (10/5): - Good sized room, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The bar and restaurant are very stylish and the food delicious. It would be useful to have some addiional lighting in the bathroom amd a full length mirror in the room.
- allan (8/5): Good quality food ,excellent very clean room. - Had dinner and breakfast, both excellent quality, service was also very good Cant think off anything i could complain about . very happy customer.

- Stephen (10/5): Lovely stay for dinner with friends - Room was excellent, dinner was excellent, staff freindly and knowledgable. Top place. Didnt have breakfast which was probably a mistake.
- Suzanne (9/5): -
- Willie (7/5): Fine, did what it said on box . - Breakfast wasn’t included which seemed a shame as it would have been a better valued price. Didn’t feel that welcomed - sounds silly but was shown room, no key given and just felt very transactional.
- Michael (10/5): - Great staff and lovely location good food and really nice room
- David (9/5): - Excellent
- STEPHEN (9/5): - the pub was in a more remote postition as this was my first time of staying, but no problem.
the building looked quite new and was very pleasant inside.
the big winner for me was the food, i had dinner there, the somked salmon was the best dish i have tasted ever, i have eaten in some very nice restaurants. followed by a chicken dish which was equally as good, so huge compliments to the chef and team, room was clean and very pleasant, overall a very nice visit, will be back. Nothing, all really good
- Christopher (7/5): Comfy accommodation but very busy in dining area and rather pricey. - Bedroom comfy, dining area well furnished, plenty of parking. Good location for exploring local canal walks and NT properties. Bathroom plug did not work and door did not fit properly and when pointed this out to a member of staff they said that another guest had mentioned this - so why not sort it out? Dining room very noisy, breakfast staff slow and quite abrupt, not welcoming.
- Garry (5/5): Unfortunately due to a private party there was no parking onsite, entrance was blocked therefore difficult to locate rec - Location to event we attended Tiredness of bathroom (toilet seat broken and missing parts), no reception area had to find staff.
- Nicholas (5/5): Disappointing - Breakfast was good
Room size excellent
Bed comfort good No sleep due to noise levels
Noise continued throughout the night
Was
Told there was a private function and would be goer at midnight
Staff and guests noisy after midnight
- Miriam (8/5): -
- Matt (9/5): Comfy bed and clean spacious room with character and well maintained . - The room was very well laid out and with a comfy bed and pillows and everything you could need for a comfortable stay .
- Neil (9/5): good - Everything was good Nothing
- Jonathan (10/5): - Little gem of a place! Beautiful comfy room, friendly and professional service and team, I didn't want to leave! Would not hesitate to return to this place next time I am down that way.
- jane (9/5): very enjoyable stay - the room was very good everything that you needed was available, bathroom was excellent condition and clean, tea and coffee facility available , breakfast was very good stairs to the rooms i found to be steep, no coffee or tea refills at breakfast or free orange juice etc could be added, also vat on drinks are quite high
- Steve (8/5): -

- Ahern (9/5): Relaxed, very high quality dining, lovely hotel. - When we first arrived we was greeted by a very friendly member of the team who showed us to out room.
We stayed in room 9, which is a lovely large spacious room with a large on suite bathroom, everything was clean and very will presented.
We booked dinner and breakfast.
The Chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. And our cocktails were amazing.
We can't fault anything.
And this carried over to breakfast very friendly staff. And breakfast was on the same level as dinner.
The venue is beautifully designed and very well layed out
Even with a wedding party in the function room you couldn't tell.
- Bates (10/5): -
- Howard (9/5): An enjoyable stay. - Very comfortable clean bedroom with excellent onsuite facilities. Enjoyed a good evening meal in the restaurant and the breakfast the following morning was excellent. The Punchbowl is a little isolated but in attractive surroundings. Sat Nav had no difficulty finding the premises.
- Hadyn (9/5): -
- Ruth (8/5): -
- John (8/5): - Location and all the different seating areas. Evening meal staff were excellent TV signal very intermittent. No air con
- Julia (8/5): Fabulous room in a wonderful setting, but no good in a heatwave. - Lovely setting, beautiful building. Room was really well thought out, laid out and decorated. Unfussy but with everything you needed. Good quality towels, bedding. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable bed. We didn’t stop for breakfast in this occasion due tot other commitments. We stayed during a summer heatwave and it was absolutely stifling. The window had a limiter to prevent it being opened more than a few centimetres, so impossible to get any throughput of air. The bed was not a big double and the duvet was not a summer weight duvet.
I get that it is an old building and that normally in the Midlands in the UK you would not think that air con might be needed, but we got virtually no sleep due to the heat. In the end we decided to leave at just before 7am because we were so uncomfortable.
- Christopher (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (9/5): Superb - I have stayed here several times. Lovely pub, good food and pleasant atmosphere. All good
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jax (7/5): Beautiful and clean but food inconsistent - As always the cosy interior, the cleanliness and the staff Since as much care was given at the bar, ordering a gin I was supposed no botanicals were added, not even cucumber I was offered.
I had ceasar salad two nights in a row and the first night it was amazing. The second night the chef had forgotten the poached egg on top So that was brought to me after the salad was served and was by then slightly over done and I had to ask for croutons that should had been added, these were brought straight away so it seemed they had also been forgotten. The salad leaves weren’t cut up at at all so effectively it was a plate ( not even a bowl as was the case the previous night ) of whole salad leaves, dressing and Parmesan … the waitress was obviously aware and I the. Mentioned this again when paying the bill. Offer was made to compensate the cost of this either.
We’ve stayed with you many times and this was quite disappointing .
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (5/5): Passable - New carpets in bedroom, bed was comfortable. No bottled water in the room, lighting in bathroom was poor, no washcloths, broken wooden toilet seat.
- Nathan (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were so amazing and friendly Going home
- Jill (8/5): Great stay but if you want side drinks for your room make sure to stop at the supermarket on route - Very comfortable, clean and great staff. I wanted to buy some orange juice and sparking water for my room, my only option was to buy through the bar at unit prices So a bottle of water was about 6 quid and a carton of orange was about 15 quid. So I didn't buy. This impacted on my stay. Only negative I have to report
- David (8/5): Very good -
