- Justin (9/5): - Perfect location just down the road from Goryu. Nice comfortable place with shared bathrooms which were clean and a good breakfast. The private onsen bath downstairs was in a very cold room without heating. The onsen bath however was very hot, almost unbearably so. Which made a tricky combination!
- Chen Ming (8/5): -
- Bailey (10/5): Felt lovely and home like - Staff and location were perfect
- Melissa (8/5): Great experience - Very clean and the location is awesome. Close to Goryu ski resort. Breakfast was OK, host lovely. Room was spacious, beds typically hard as japan seems to be but warm and comfortable enough. Outside of building very run down and a bit off-putting when u first arrive. Inside very rustic old school cabin vibe. Was a bit noisy as there is no insulation and the whole building is timber and creaks when u walk. If u are looking for a refined resort then this place isnt for you. If you are there to enjoy winter sports and appreciate value for money then you will love it like us. The onsen is amazing. Certainly will be back!
- Peter Pham (10/5): - We stayed here for 4 days. It's a nice place. It closes to everything I.e bus, Ski resorts and shops, only 5-15 mins walking distance. This is liked a family home. There's breakfast served everything by a very nice and lovely owner. She's so kindly and friendly. I would recommend this place for everyone. If I come back i will definitely stay here. Thanks a lot to the owner for her hospitality.

- Geeb (8/5): Great stay in a great spot , clean and cheerful would stay here again . - Location , private Onsen , good breakfast , lots of room. Beds were very creaky. Twin bed shared room was noisy if anyone moved in bed.

- Joseph (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was excellent. Location was just a short walk from both the bus stop (we came in from Nagano) as well as the Goryu ski resort. Staff was very friendly. Several restaurants and a 7-Eleven within a 15 minute walk. Good value for the price. There is also an Onsen on site which was amazing. We used it every night during our stay.
- Collin (10/5): Exceptional stay at a wonderful location. -
- Yosh (9/5): February in Hukuba - The beds were a little hard, but surprisingly comfortable. I very much enjoyed the breakfast too. It had a very homey atmosphere and the hosts were very friendly. The attached restaurant was excellent too. They had heaters around the building but at times it felt a little chilly.
- Amelie (10/5): We loved it & would come back if in Hakuba again - We loved it and will come back, when we come back to Hakuba! We booked this rather late for a ski trip so this was one of the last affordable options for us and we are SO happy we found this.
It's a cozy, rustic cabin with spacious rooms. The private Onsen is amazing, especially after a long ski day. We also loved the Canadian Village restaurant/bar. It probably had some of the best food of our entire Japan trip, prepared by the owner! The breakfast is prepared by the owner's mom every morning - it's amazing! There are many Japanese but also "western" options. It's all fresh, tasty, healthy and filling for a full day of sports!
The owner, the owner's mother and the rest of the staff are so kind, thoughtful and just authentic. Nothing is fake and if we needed help, they truly supported us. Such as on our last day with the heaviest snow fall, when we asked to use the phone to call a taxi, the owner offered to drive us himself, spending probably over an hour of his time, as we still needed to make further stops. We are unbelievably grateful!
The area of Goryu is amazing and so underrated. It's outside of all the action and away from the party crowd, international tourists and seasonal workers in Echoland and Hakuba town, and for us it was so much better! There are many restaurants and bars, the food, prices and staff are better and friendlier (we compared these three areas)
For skiing, no matter where you go in the valley: if you want to check out multiple ski resorts, you might want to consider renting a car (you must be comfortable with driving in heavy snow!). We went to Goryu/47 twice out of our 4 skiing days, because it's super close, has a lot to offer for all levels, no crazy crowds, you never have to wait in line!
- Carlin (8/5): 6 nights just a 3 minute shuttle bus ride to hakuba goryu and a 20 min walk. The beds and pillows felt old and werent ve - The staff
The breakfast The beds
And pillows
- Wiranya (8/5): Cozy and value for money - Breakfast is nice. I like that the rooms and overall vibe of the place were very cozy. Owners were nice and easy going. Not exactly a downside but as the place doesn't have an elevator, you need to carry your luggage up the stairs to your room on the 2nd floor, which is actually a part of its charm, but for those with large luggage it could have been quite a struggle.
- Helena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stack (10/5): Exceptional - Great place, nice people. Big rooms, amazing Onsen used everyday. Would recommend!
- Jess (10/5): Really enjoyed our stayed! Super cosy, the owner is so nice & gave us a lift to the bus station. Breakfast is curren - cute cabin, yummy breakfast, the owner & house lady were lovely.
- Yago (10/5): Incredible! - Everything! We felt at home and we loved it. Such a beautiful place with great service and great people.
The room was very spacious, the beds were comfortable and very cozy. (the pillow is hard, might no suit people that like soft pillow) the location is incredible, plus the fact that the best restaurant in Hakuba is right there in the hotel, made everything even more amazing. Onsen + Canada Tei in our hotel was the best combo for after the whole day skiing. our staying wasn't long enough. we will be back.

- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Travis (8/5): - People were friendly and polite but didn’t speak much English. Only saw them for breakfast then had the whole place to our self. Onsen was great after every day on the hill
- Alisha (8/5): - Had a lovely stay. Very friendly & helpful staff. Nice breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Amazing food and large rooms - Family run B & B, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite large and come in various configurations however the walls do little to block out noise from other guests. The shared bathroom is kept clean. The location is in walking distance to the Goryu Ski Resort, but approx. 30 mins from Happo-One, there is also limited choice in restaurants and bars in the local area. Due to the distance, it was sometimes difficult to arrange a taxi. Wifi upstairs was limited. The Teppanyaki restaurant downstairs from the hotel is amazing and one of the best I have ever eaten at!
