Guest Reviews
- Maria (10/5): -
- Evangelia (9/5): I had a sweet stay and I even returned to the place and stayed again! Few days each time. - Breakfast was simple but sweet and nice! The location is so central and few minutes walk from the forests and rivers, if one wants to escape to nature. Rooms are simple but have privacy and a little outdoor balcony - lovely! It is an economy stay so things are to be expected to be simple. Simple yet lovely and homey.
I am very sensitive to smell and so sometimes that was inconvenient, I felt their detergent smell was strong for me.
- Rayane (8/5): - All good Smoke smell everywhere
- Julia (8/5): - The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are okay for the price including breakfast. I would stay there again if you want to safe some money it’s worth it.

- León (7/5): - El precio y el desayuno La pieza olía a humedad

- Daniel (8/5): - Price, location , many options for breakfast they lent us an indonesian plug to use.You can refill water bottle
for 3000 rp. The old man was rude talking about indians. The family uses a mattress at the entrance of their place without any bedsheet so it is very dirty.
- Ferran (6/5): -
- Karlina (5/5): The housekeeper was not friendly to me - The room n bathroom are big enough, also there is a water heater. First impression is I experienced discrimination here, maybe bcos I'm a local tourist.
When I got here, the housekeeper said "there is no booking under my name". Even tho I had already confirmed to the owner a few days earlier. Seriously, this is so annoying, but the owner took responsibility and found a place for me.

- Maëlle (9/5): - I’ve had such a great time there ! The staff is so lovely and helpful !! They book all you need for you.
Nice location !
- Marco (8/5): Very good - Perfect budget guesthouse with simple and clean rooms and lovely mini verandas in a traditional courtyard. It's central and yet quiet at night, beds are fine and the included breakfast a nice plus. The bathrooms are large enough but have no hot water and, what's most important, no toilet paper or a bum hose... Thankfully I had some paper! Here's also only a fan that may not be enough if it's a very hot time but we stayed when it was cool.
- Jessica (6/5): Pleasant - Location and breakfast The mattress smelled like pee, the staff wasn’t nice
- Tayfun (7/5): Good -
- Eddie (7/5): Good -
- Juan (10/5): Exceptional - Really good deal
- Anonymous (10/5): We stayed here for 4 nights, the breakfast was delicious. All the staff were super friendly and helpful! Rooms were clea - So serene and tranquil. Loved our little outside space to have breakfast in the mornings. Nothing!
- Sami (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location
- Jessy (9/5): Good location and comfortable stay in Ubud - The location was very good. For the price you get a comfortable stay and a decent breakfast. We also booked the Mt. Batur hiking experience through the accommodation this was perfect. We were on time back in the morning to get the breakfast. It was quite noisy because of the people next to us. However the staff said something about it at around 12 o clock. So that was handled perfectly.
- Ilia (10/5): Exceptional - All
- Daniela (8/5): Very good -
- Doerte (9/5): Superb - Beautiful temple, very central, delicious breakfast
- Nikola (7/5): Good - Staff was really nice. Location is amazing. Breakfast was really yumy. The bathroom wasnt clean and kinda moldy. The pillow and blanket smelled a bit like piss.
- Zuzana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alice (9/5): Good place to stay, the family is kind and it’s very worth it for the price -
- Kristina (8/5): Very good - The location is amazing, you are right in the action with markets at the end of the laneway and monkey forest in walking distance. Despite being in the middle of the city the property was very quiet with no street noise at all. There are no cars allowed down the laneway so there is a short walk (maybe 300m). This was tricky for us with two small kids and our luggage but we managed it ok. There was no hot water in our room and no air conditioning but the high ceiling meant the room was not hot and the cold water was welcome after walking through the city.
- Perera (7/5): we had a good stay, close to all attractions - The host was very helpful. Ubud Homestay is in an excellent location, right near all the main attractions. We didn’t have hot water, which was a bit of a drawback, but aside from that, we had a good stay. The breakfast was very good. Lack of hot water
- Haru (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richika (8/5): Very good -
- Seán (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, friendly staff My room was on the top floor and the Internet didn't reach but it worked outside the room and everywhere else.
- Denis (10/5): Exceptional - Happy and comfortable Nothing
- Sebastian (8/5): - The owners are really nice people, very helpful. But the place needs more hygiene, specifically mattress, that had a weird smell. But for the price we just went on and stayed happy, specially the breakfast, that saved us every morningm
- Vildnerová (9/5): Superb - Nice place
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Kamal (2/5): Very poor -
- Sananda (8/5): The room had a lovely personal outside area. - Location and price are excellent. Staff are supportive and helpful.
- Martin (2/5): - Geen kamer beschikbaar.
- Jade (7/5): Good - The location was perfect and the room was good for value and the staff is nice Not very clean but it’s okay
- Tracey (5/5): Passable - Very pleasant staff. Simple breakfast included. If you need a cheap no frills room, and an overused mattress doesn't bother you, this would suffice. The toilet comes with a bucket not a douche. Location. It may be central but you have to run the gauntlet of the market traders every time you leave/return . The busy street is too close with way too much traffic and people. The room was damp, no air con meant hot sticky clammy sheets. The mattress was not pleasant. We left a night early.
- Nina (10/5): It was perfect, highly recommend. - I really enjoyed my stay at Arjuna homestay. The family is so kind, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was just right. There is a fan which really helps cool the room down. Good WiFi. Nice outdoor sitting area. There is no hot water, but it wasn’t a problem. It’s in a convenient location. I booked my ticket to the Gili Islands with them which was super helpful. This place is great, you cant beat it for the price. I would definitely come back! Just be aware that you have to walk through Arjuna market every time you leave or come back to the accommodation so there will always be people trying to sell you things.
- Paulina (10/5): Exceptional - Great value for money! Delicious breakfast and the staff is so kind (Putu), helped me with everything, he has such a good heart!
- Andrea (10/5): I highly recommend this place because is cheap and the staff is super polite and attentive. The breakfast is made with l - The location and the house. The bathroom.
- Adeline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marzia (6/5): just ok - location really basic, no soap provided, moldy smell
- Amedeo (8/5): My lovely place in Ubud! - My second stay at Arjuna Homestay (the first one was in 2015). The same big (two beds, big window, fan) room with bathroom (only cold water, but OK) and big balcony. The house has its own Hindu temple.
Light breakfast (fruit salad, eggs, coffee/tea).
Very good location close to Jalan Monkey Forest, the two local markets and the rice fields. Easy to arrive by bus from Denpasar Airport (K6 from DPS to Central Parkir Kuta plus K5 from Central Parkir Kuta to Titi Banda plus K4 from Titi Banda to Ubud). Or, opposite way, K4/K5/K6 to go from Ubud to DPS. Three hours but only three times 4400 IDR (0, 80 USD/EUR). Or you can take a taxi which takes two hours (because the traffic is the same) and cost you 30 times more than the bus.
Nice people (Wayan and his lovely family). Everything was OK. I hope I will come back again. Thank you, dear friends!
- Ambro (7/5): convenient, basic accomodation in the earth of Ubud - excellent position. Beautiful traditional balinese house, with terrace and open areas room and toilet equipment is very basic
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ignacio (8/5): Very good -
- Ignacio (9/5): Superb -
- Virginia (6/5): Only good location - Good location, right on the center.
The staff is helpful, the helped us to rent a motorbike and to get boat tickets (the boat the work with had no AC). No hot water in the shower! We understand is warm weather, but it’s nice to take a hot shower.
The breakfast is really poor.
There are no towels, and you need to ask if you want toilet paper.
The room is not that comfortable.
- Niken (8/5): Very good -
- Priyanka (7/5): Good -
- Ancy (8/5): Prime location - The location is great. Just outside is the shopping street. Monkey forest, Ubud palace, Saraswati temple are all walkable distances.
You can get different options for day tour/activities from the stay itself. Many posters are pasted there.
Breakfast is available.
Lovely owners. They even allowed my son to play with their kids toys for a while.
Completely worth the money. It's a bit basic stay. Only expect basic amenities. But considering the location and amount, it's really great.
- Sara (7/5): Good - The homestay is close to the center but in a quiet road. The host and his family are nice. The room and the bathroom are very simple and with enough space. The room was clean but the pillows of the bench in the terrace smelled of urine.
The homestay can organize tours in Bali, but only for minimum two people. If you are a solo traveller do not rely on them for visiting Bali.
- Kiara (10/5): Exceptional - Our fav accomodation in Ubud. Nice high ceilings good room with balcony. Ceiling fan was great. Breakfast was basic but good. Would stay again Mattress was old and thin
- Beáta (7/5): Good -
- Irina (1/5): We do not recommend this accommodation at all! - The only positive aspects were the good location and the facilities, like scooter rentals and breakfast. However, these do not make up for the lack of hygiene and poor accommodation conditions. We had an extremely unpleasant experience here. First of all, the cleanliness standards were unacceptable. Everything was very dirty, including the beds, which were both torn and filthy. We found cockroaches in the room, and the smell was unbearable. There was no air conditioning, which made our stay even more difficult.
The bathroom was completely under-equipped, lacking basic necessities, which is unacceptable for this type of accommodation. The staff was incompetent and did not speak English, which made communication very difficult.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb -
- Taluke (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (1/5): Bad - The accommodation is very cheap so it lived up to its expectation.
If you are a young backpacker and don't mind basic, smelly and dirty it is an ideal guesthouse.
On a more positive note the location is ideal for nearby activities.
- Antonio (8/5): Very good - Just simplicity of the room. A bed a bathroom with a shower. Just bring your towel toilet paper and body soap. You will be confortable. The room also has a ceiling ventilator.
The price was very reasonable and you get a breakfast. Every day. I had a great view from my room. I will return again if I return to Ubud. Just a note... If you require transportation from Dempasar airport to Ubud , the homestead will be able to arrange it for you. Please make sure you confirm your service with the homestead.
- David (7/5): A centrally located reasonable guesthouse - Central location, quiet, Staff were a bit rude sometimes, asked me to change rooms halfway through my stay, had to ask for towels and toilet paper
- Olivia (3/5): Poor -
- Rhonda (8/5): Very good - Good breakfast. Lovely staff, central to Ubud. No hot water, but who needs hot water in this lovely weather...some of the mattresses a bit rough.
Drain smell.
- Julia (6/5): Some of the personal was not friendly, some of them don’t speek English, so I had to wait to ask some of my questions. - Good place in Ubud- close to all restaurants and shops. Looked not that nice, could need a renovation. No hot water in the shower.
- Lillian (4/5): - This is an adequate place to stay if you go in with the expectation that it is a homestay, not a hotel. All staff were very friendly and courteous. The floor was quite clean but the room was very basic and old, with dirty walls. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. A light breakfast is included but other amenities listed on Expedia were not: for example, there is no daily housekeeping and no toiletries, not even soap! We did get towels and toilet paper upon request! Also note there is NO HOT WATER. In Ubud you don’t absolutely need it, but it would make the first minute of showering more comfy! For those on a budget, I’d still recommend this place for the very convenient and central location. Just be prepared.
- Abid (1/5): Bad - Nothing Nothing is there , even bath towel , soap , shampoo
I was check in late , I was asking to the staff to provide me a towel and soap to fresh up , I left the next day to other hotel .
- Anile (8/5): Very good -
- Prakash (8/5): Very good -
- Sami (2/5): - The home hosts were rude and not accommodating whatsoever; I asked a simple question about the locking mechanism on the door and I was met with coldness and angst from the hosts. Real pieces of work, stay AWAY.
- Miguel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maharana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Happy (10/5): Exceptional -
