Showers were great. Poor soundproofing. Noise from outside was often obtrusive .

El edificio es muy bonito El personal de recepcion.Según llegas a recepcion antes de pedirte los pasaportes ya te piden la fianza, que es pequeña pero hace feo. La recepción está aparte del hotel, al que hay que subir muchas escaleras para llegar a la habitación y no te explica nadie ni por donde está tu habitación. El desayuno era solo café y unas tostadas, el problema es que la leche estaba siempre cortada. Las habitaciones no tienen ventana solo tienen en el baño, no vi que se indicará esto en booking. El precio está muy bien pero es un alojamiento muy básico

Suk Yin Gloria (10/5): Great affordable stay close to city! - Location is walking distance to Chinatown and waterfront. Alot of shops nearby. They didn’t mention in the room but very simple breakfast is provided - coffee, tea, bread and cereal. Simple enough to start the day. The house itself is full of history, if you are interested in history and what was the house used for then it is worth the stay. Since it is near city, the noise from the road is quite loud. Not recommended for light sleeper. As it is an old house, it is not soundproof so you can hear people walking/talking in the hallway or walking around.

Goede airco, schoon, comfortabele bedden en vriendelijk personeel. Bagage opslag was ook mogelijk. Ik kon alleen de douche niet goed verstellen met warm/koud, maar de douche kop was verder prima.

Seating area scattered throughout and we loved the pool area. Staff are all lovely and the location is superb. We were bitterly disappointed to discover that our room did not have a window! There are double doors, partially glazed that go through to the ensuite, which does have a window but for me the room felt dark and enclosed. I feel that if a room has no window, this should be clearly stated in the booking information.

severine (1/5): - Rien La chambre vétuste, sent énormément l'humidité une seule prise, la fenêtre qui ne ferme pas et laisse entrer les moustiques, les draps et oreillers sales tachés de jaune, la douche qui ne chauffe pas, le petit déjeuner proposé inexistant et uniquement toast grillé. Photo mensongère cet hôtel est à fuire absolument.
Letizia (8/5): Fascino autentico, ma portate i tappi per le orecchie! - Nel cuore di Kuching, con un ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo. La posizione è ideale per esplorare la città e la piscina è una salvezza contro il caldo del Sarawak. Abbiamo soggiornato nelle camere lato piscina: spaziose, con bagni immensi e graziosi balconcini privati sul loggiato verso la piscina. La vera sorpresa è stata il vicino tempio cinese: ogni sera spettacoli canori vivacissimi e fuochi d’artificio in mezzo alla strada a orari improbabili (anche alle 6 del mattino!). È stato uno dei momenti più divertenti e autentici del viaggio, ma decisamente rumoroso: meglio essere preparati! La struttura segue lo stile locale con infissi "aperti", il che significa che gechi e insetti sono ospiti fissi. Nulla di strano per la Malesia, ma va saputo. Purtroppo, in una delle nostre due camere mancava il telecomando dell’aria condizionata. Nonostante le richieste, non ci è stato fornito, costringendoci a tre notti di gelo e rumore costante (anche con i tappi) poiché il sistema era bloccato alla massima potenza. Un vero peccato, perché ha penalizzato il riposo in una struttura altrimenti ottima.
Dzul (4/5): Personally, this will be first and last. Anyways, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful! - The check-in process is very good, and the staff are also polite and helpful. I stayed for 1 night and expected to have a pleasant stay with my family. The stairs inside the room are too small for adults and steep, which could poise safety hazard. The room also had dust on the bedsheet, blanket and pillow cover. This is the part where I decided to check out early in the morning 7 am. At 2-4 am, you can hear clearly the next room making noise (I know that was their private thing to do, but please have some common sense, it was too loud and too much, which woke me up from their moaning! I barely slept).

Claire (8/5): Ideal for a couple days of relaxation. - The hotel was a nice tranquil escape from the city. The breakfast was good, though i only had it a couple times. The pool was refreshing. The aircon in the room was relatively quiet, I use ear plugs too as I am a very light sleeper, and the bed was super comfy. I did have ants in my bathroom but the cleaners sorted that without me asking. The one day I chose to have a pool day there was garden work happening which spoilt the tranquil vibes. Also there are not many places to sun bath and the sun loungers are mostly covered over. The buses are not very regular according to Google maps which is a pain. I was nervous to use the grab bikes and the only train stop was a long train ride. This hotel is also on the outskirts for any tour pickups too.

Małe sniadanie w cenie, co też jest mile Można by jedynie zamieścić info ze w pokoju nie ma okna ( w opcji z lozkiem malzenskim ). Jest co prawda okno w łazience , ale nie każdego to zadowoli :) poza tym szczegółem naprawdę fajny nocleg
Daniel (9/5): - Fantastic location, clean rooms, good air-conditioning, simple breakfast, very helpful staff - a stay with some character, would definitely stay again! Hot water is more 'warm' (but in the weather is fine), rooms are only re-stocked not full service each day (all manageable).
Rolf Eugen (8/5): Im 2-Sterne-Bereich absolut zu empfehlen. - Sehr geschmackvoll renoviertes Gebäude aus der Kolonialzeit. Schön angelegter tropischer Garten mitten in der Stadt. Gibt zusammen mit dem Pool ein Bali-Feeling in absolut bester Innenstadt-Lage. Wir sind ein Paar, aber ideal für Familien, auch wegen des äußerst guten Preis-Leistungsverhältnisses. Kann schon mal etwas laut werden, da Innenstadtlage.

Armeline (4/5): Good enough but overly noisy at night - The hotel is charming indeed with beautiful decoration and nice places to rest. Pool is great and overall environment surrounding hotel is gorgeous. Amazing views on Kuching waterfront. Way too noisy for me, which is a pity given positive points mentioned above. First is the noise from the road, since they don't have proper window. That noise you can tolerate it with earplugs. But worst is the noise from unruly guests that we could hear from our room on the first floor. First two nights noisy people and then a guest next door constantly making throat noises all night. Walls are paper thin and even with earplugs I had a very bad sleep the first 3 nights. We asked to be moved to the second floor for another two nights and it was much better, no neighbour noise but still noisy traffic. Overall conclusion is that it is a pity that the hotel is not renovated to reduce noise, as I would not recommend staying there for those like me that are sensitive to noise at night... with proper walls and windows, the hotel would be really great! Recommend though if you still wanna stay there to ask for rooms on 2nd floor, less noisy than those on first floor.

Liek (8/5): Leuke locatie op een goede plek in Kuching. - Mooie locatie (mooi oud pand), om de hoek barretjes en restaurants. Zwembad Gratis (basic) ontbijt. Cornflakes/toast. Eigen balkon. In onze slaapkamer (112) zit geen raam. Wel in de badkamer maar als je de deur naar de badkamer dicht houd ivm de airco dan is dit een gemis.
ClintBrimson (7/5): a good location for Kuching - nice pool, clean common areas, friendly reception staff our triple room was pretty dark, window didnt completely close so had some mosquitos, could hear upstairs plumbing run through the pipes in our room, felt cold and dank. I believe other room types would be better, this one felt forgotten about. the bathroom floor was extremely slippery like the cleaning liquid hadn't been washed off.

Arrived with heavy back pack, on my own. 3 members of staff throughout the building watched as I struggled to carry my bags up the large amount of steps. Upon arrival (2:30pm) there was no sense of welcome to Kuching, no information. I was staying on a public holiday and I wasn’t offered any info on what was happening locally to celebrate. No option of breakfast either, later found out it was available for guests but I was not informed. Room smelled of damp, the dirt was disgusting, clearly mould on the walls, dirty sheets, smelly pillows. I had an issue on the first night, night porter was so unhelpful and the next day nobody checked in to see if I or everything was ok. On my second day I was walking through reception area and I saw a family with young, agitated children try to tackle the stairs with heavy bags, whilst being watched by members of staff. I couldn’t believe my eyes so obviously stepped in to help the grateful couple. I don’t understand why the staff, even on a human level, are so inherently unhelpful, are they trained to be like this? My room was not serviced, but someone was clearly in because the bottles of water replaced but bed was not made.
FREDERIC (10/5): - Emplacement parfait. Tout est accessible à pieds. Piscine magnifique. Personnel serviable et petit déjeuner inclus alors que ce n'était pas annoncé. C'est la 2ème fois que j'y suis allé et toujours la même satisfaction. Manque de lumière dans la chambre.

The pool is lovely and very secluded, despite being so close to the busy waterfront. the bathroom could do with an update and maybe an extra bedside table but that's it.
Katherine (9/5): 4 Night Stay - Excellent location in an interesting historic building. Insects in my room which was dealt with. Towels not replaced or bed linen not changed after 4 nights. It states they would be replaced & changed after 3 nights. The staff said I could just ask, but I did not bother as was checking out after this. Insects in the butter and jam at breakfast.

Very close to everything though feels like a serene place to stay with pretty gardens. Friendly staff. Good luggage storage area at reception. Nothing not to like. We had a wonderful stay.
