• Seckin (7/5): - The location was great. The complimentary snacks available at the other hotel were a nice touch and a good option when we wanted to take a short rest. Check-in was smooth and easy. I also appreciated that umbrellas were available in the lobby for guests to use. Room was not clean. It probably hadn’t been vacuumed for days. Even we requested the cleaning, nothing changed.

La chambre très jolie décorée avec une bonne literie. Sans parler de l’accueil chaleureux que nous avons reçu. Nous n’avons rien à redire.

• Jane (8/5): Easy to get everywhere from hotel. Staff exceptional. And the breakfast is brilliant. - Staff very helpful and always smiling. Very good location A bit noisy first thing in the morning. Bed a little bit soft, but that’s a personal preference.
• Tzach (5/5): A disappointing stay for the hotel, as I was impressed that it was good and clean - I did not have such an experience. I - The location was good, among the only positive aspects of my stay unfortunately A small and narrow hotel relative to its level. My room was not cleaned as befits the level of the hotel and the reviews I read, there are objects that have not been moved for a while and are full of dust, it is noticeable that no care was taken to clean this room. A very small room, there is no way it is 19 square meters as listed, and if so, the design is really inefficient, even for one person it was cramped and I do not need much for my taste. The window opens 2 centimeters with pressure. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable. The room is only cleaned if you ask, be careful. There is no staff after 5 p.m. You have to go to a nearby hotel - when I arrived to have breakfast for the first time, I arrived and explained exactly which room in the other hotel I was coming from and he smiled and let me in to eat - after a minute, instead of properly inquiring, he approached me and started interrogating me and verifying again which room I was from, which felt really unpleasant and I asked him to contact his colleagues to inquire myself.

• Hugh (9/5): Lovely staff. Rooms are stylish and modern with a feeling of fun! - Great location within walking distance of the Central Station. Staff are extremely helpful and a nice touch to include ‘happy hour’ for residents.

• Theodora (5/5): Good location, not good enough stay for the price you pay. - Location was the best thing of the property, and also beds and pillows very comfortable We were three girls. And the 3bed room is too small for three people, no space for luggages or anywhere to put clothes! Also, toilet and bathroom are separate and the toilet does not has a sink in which is very inconvenient! As far as cleaning goes, very average, the room was “cleaned” every day but all the surfaces were dusty (extreme levels) and the toilet was not properly cleaned!! Very small thin mirror, table also small with one chair (3bed bedroom) . For the price you pay this was below average stay. Soundproofing is also awful! We could hear people upstairs and also from outside. Breakfast is in a hotel opposite street which is not mentioned when you book (trap) and it’s very average. The scrambled eggs were smelly, and also mushrooms. Yogurt good, and bacon gets 5/5 ! Coffee is also awful, was going to a coffee shop nearby “fournos” to get some proper one. Also the air-condition tray almost fell on out head for no reason. Staff are very nice, and helpful, they obviously helped with the tray but I feel they were not considerate enough as this could be pretty serious. They just said oh this is how the aircon is we will send technician to check. Four star hotels or any hotel of this price would offer you something for the inconvenience. Overall not satisfied, waste of money.

• Gavin (6/5): Good location, housekeeping needs improving - The hotel is in a good location near Centraal Station. The rooms are all themed and we had the music room, which was nice as it had a disco ball and lights. It also had a record player and selection of records to play. The room was a good size and relatively silent which was great given the location we were not disturbed by the surrounding environment. The staff were really friendly at check-in also and this was a nice way to arrive. The main issue and why we would mark it down, relates to overall cleanliness and housekeeping which could be significantly improved. The room overall was ok, but lots of surfaces are being missed for wipe down and there was lots of dust in the room and particularly in the toilet on the door and floor. It has lots of potential but further attention to detail on housekeeping would greatly improve it and make the price seem more worth it as it definitely was overpriced based on the standards.

Receptionist "Hen" made us a cuppa so we could relax before helping us take our baggage to Highland House a short walk away. Adnan assisted us with check-in, took our bags upstairs & was extremely friendly & helpful with directions to places we wanted to go. A digital key was a great addition that worked well & there was a safe in the room. A wonderful breakfast was served daily at the main hotel & there are free drinks & nibbles there from 12pm to 12am! We stayed in The Den (names instead of room numbers). The room was compact but totally enjoyable, with a very comfortable bed. No complaints here, an excellent stay.

• Explorer05475128497 (6/5): Nice small Hotel in a good location, but not ideal für Families - Our room, although advertised as a deluxe triple room, was very cramped and had no wardrobe, shelves, or any storage space for clothing. For three adults, this felt extremely tight. The bathroom also lacked sufficient space to hang towels or bath towels for three people. We reported this via WhatsApp, but received no response from the hotel staff. The breakfast was okay, but not very varied—exactly the same every day. The hotel’s location is very central, which is great for exploring the city.

Rooms are well designed if a little small (it does make it a little challenging if you need to open and unpack two suitcases) Stairs are quite steep but there is a lift. Although in a great spot in can get noisy so air plugs are a must. Electronic email check in system didn’t work for us but this wasn’t really a huge issue

The room was small and in the basement, which is not exactly what you hope for that price. The alley of the hotel is small and dirty. Someone spilled something at the entrance and stayed there 2 days.

• DJPuk (10/5): Nice location, friendly welcome and a nice room - I was met by a receptionist which I didn’t expect, they work in the daytime only at this sister hotel. Made a coffee, provided water and information for me. Room was clean and tidy, cosy but spacious enough too. Lift made a tall narrow building very accessible! Would recommend for any traveller looking to stay central and not spending a fortune!

• Andrea (9/5): Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden das Hotel wieder buchen. - Sehr gemütliches Zimmer, hatten Doppelzimmer gebucht und Upgrade auf 3-Bett-Zimmer erhalten, Bad und WC jeweils in einem extra Raum. Sehr gutes und umfangreiches Frühstück. Zum Frühstück musste man in das Schwesternhotel gehen (ist aber nicht weit entfernt).

• Fabienne (9/5): nous reviendrons - nous avons séjourner dans la chambre "gym", très sympa ce concept de chambre à thèmes (prochaine fois nous essaierons une autre) location parfaite déjeuner bon et varié personnel très agréable croisières sur les canaux (celle en partant de l'autre côté de "het IJ" via le ferry gratuit) le lit 1personne faisait beaucoup de bruit comme je bouge beaucoup, plus embètant pour les autres! pancakes pas assez chaud et oeufs brouillés trop sec il faut bien savoir se débrouiller en anglais

Right off of main pedestrian/shopping area with great stores. Tram right outside. Beds were comfy. Toilet separate from shower/sink. Staff was lovely. Room for 3 was very cramped. Did not like decor theme of our room which was Home Theater. It was dark & dreary. No rugs so in winter room felt very cold & unwelcoming. Need to make the room cozier & brighten up. No closet nor dresser. Our luggage took up every ounce of floor space so it was stressful. Check-in & breakfast is in another building. Breakfast was nothing fabulous. Decent. No view.

• Trevor (9/5): Three generations for three nights had a lot more than three positive things to say about the Highland House. - Kris was an awesome host. Rooms were modern, albeit small. Personalized note in the room was appreciated (with Heineken!). Mattress and pillows were very good. Breakfast at main building was great. Rooms were small (although known at time of booking).
