This 4-star, ground floor apartment features direct access to Catseye Beach and resort swimming pools. The renovated, beachfront accommodations includes air-conditioning in each room and a modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a variety of kitchenware. The spacious lounge/dining area has a wall-mounted Plasma TV, a DVD player and a stereo system. The master bedroom opens up onto a patio and includes an private bathroom, walk-in wardrobe and a Plasma TV, The second bedroom has its own bathroom. A cot, highchair, bed linen, bath towels and beach towels are supplied. Guests need to supply linen for the cot. The patio has outdoor furniture, sun lounges and barbecue facilities. Access to the Hibiscus/Lagoon Lodge shared swimming pool and spa is provided.

It is on the top floor with stunning views, a balcony, outdoor dining setting, sun lounge and a BBQ. The apartment is fully self-contained, fully air-conditioned and includes a fully equipped kitchen and laundry. All crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, linen and bath towels are supplied. You need to bring your own beach towels. The plasma TV has satellite channels, DVD player and stereo with CD player in the living room. The master bedroom, which opens on to the balcony, has a king size bed, LCD TV and dressing room with ensuite. The 2nd bedroom has a king bed or 2 singles. There is 1 foldaway bed, cot, high chair and stroller/pram available.

All of the beds were rock hard.

Well maintained golf cart. Property was tidy and clean. While we had a comfortable stay I would not consider either this apartment or building as a “luxury stay”. The apartment had a number of things needing fixing/replacement - master bdrm curtain hooks need fixing; master bdrm bedside lamps need replacing (as one in particular is collapsing and looked to be an electrical hazard); balcony furniture is in bad condition and needs replacement. The building pool is aged with missing/broken tiles. It needs a refurbishment in the near future.

Dean from Icare was very responsive. It was very tired and a bit dated. It smelt strongly of mould. In the master bedroom there was a smell like off prawns. I think it was coming from the chest of drawers that the TV was on (so we didn’t use them). I think it was a little overpriced for the quality of accomodation.

- Jessica (3/5): Apt 204 Lagoon Lodge. Disappointing, Expensive and below average accommodation. - The only positive was the view from the filthy balcony. Note: these units are privately owned. This review is about Lagoon Lodge Apartment 204 and about the property maintenance company iCare. Upon arrival at the port, we were greeted by a super friendly valet with our curtesy buggy and guides us to our accommodation. The outside of the building was lovely with a gorgeous well manicured garden. My heart sunk when walking through the apartment front door to be greeted by rubbish, food on the floor and dead cockroaches. Looking around it is clear that the photos on booking.com are outdated and highly edited. They are so old that the balcony no longer looks the same as there is now glass erected due to child proofing. The kitchen just looked grubby. There was paint flaking off, cupboards had food spills on them and the floors were black and looked like they hadn’t been washed in weeks! The coffee machine just constantly leaked. The net curtains in the loungeroom were also dirty and broken away from the tracks. The rooms were tired and old and the shower in the main bathroom was filthy and mouldy. No remote control for the main bedroom. ICare - I mentioned the dirty floors and a cleaner came back around for another half arsed cleaning session. I also mentioned no remote in the main bedroom, saying they’ll look into it but nothing eventuated. I requested a change of sheets, which was refused (I think this is a standard request given the 7 nights stay). I also tried vacuuming myself but the vacuum was broken. The owners need to invest in some knives and proper utensils. You couldn’t even cut an avocado with the blunt knives that were there. And everything is all ill matched like you would find in a hostel. The owners must be raking it in with $4500 for 7 nights. They need to invest in their asset and upgrade it!!! It looks like the last time it was renovated was the 90s.

The lodge was wonderful, spacious and had all the amenities we could need. It was in an ideal location, and the use of the buggy made travelling the island so easy. Would really recommend, especially for a group/family. I liaised with the on-island guest support and they answered my queerys so quickly. We had a lovely stay - thank you so much. nothing

- Charles (5/5): We had a great stay on Hamilton Island but would not book the same apartment again. - The view from and the location of our Apartment were excellent. The apartment was also spacious and for the most part clean. Access to the apartment's golf buggy for the duration of our stay was much appreciated (there are no private cars on Hamilton Island). However, its worth pointing out that all of the above is standard for all the apartments in the Lagoon building where we stayed. We stayed in Apartment 203, Lagoon Lodge. The furniture and internal fittings of the apartment could best be described as 'tired' and 'basic'. Furniture was okay. The sofa in the living room and the beds were reasonably comfortable, but all had seen better days. The kitchen seemed to have been refurbished relatively recently and there was some new crockery. However, the pots and pans were old and in some cases a bit grubby. The rest of the kitchen equipment was limited and very basic. There were just enough glasses and mugs for everyone in our party of four as long as we washed them up regularly, but again they were basic. Much of what there was felt cheap. None of the knives and forks really matched. Some of the fixtures were broken, including the hanging rail in the master bedroom and a sliding cupboard door in the kitchen. The sliding doors on the balcony were stiff and in need of maintenance. The outdoor furniture was worn and weathered, The BBQ (electric) worked well but was in need of a good deep clean. No specific BBQ implements were provided. The complimentary Golf Buggy worked but also felt tired and in need of minor maintenance. We found an info pack for the apartment buried deep in a cupboard. It was out of date and covered in sand. No other info. was provided apart from the code for the free wifi. It was generally reasonably clean. We found some dirty crockery in the cupboards that we had to wash up, but that was about the worst in terms of cleanliness. Weirdly, there was no door between the master bedroom and en-suite bathroom. They were separated by a 'dressing room/walk in wardrobe' but the lack of a door severely limited your privacy when using the bathroom. If using the toilet you felt it necessary to close the door between the bedroom and the living room. All very weird. Bottom line: whole place felt unloved and anonymous. Definitely not 'luxurious'

The apartment was clean and nice. the beds were comfortable. loved the buggy that went with the apartment. The furniture could be upgraded to make it more comfortable, particularly in the main living room (bean bags and a carpet to soften the hard tiled floors for example). There were missing utensils in the kitchen- BBQ equipment, and the coffee plunger was rusted.

- Dannie (7/5): Relaxing getaway - was just hoping the apartment would be nicer - layout, location and access to grass area. close to beach. includes golf buggy. our contact Dean was very helpful and attended to all our issues if possible the apartment seemed a little run down and grubby in parts. the gas bottle was empty. there were not enough wine glasses. the remotes had flat batteries. the lounge room fan appears to be broken and continues slowly when off, emitting a noise. the golf buggy had a sodden rear seat that squirted water when sat on.

Everyday was something, mowers, hedge trimming, pressure washing - using low season to tidy the place up but it was every day something new to disturb the serenity.

- Kate (1/5): Horrifically dirty apartment and absolutely not at the standard expected from - The person met us at the ferry We were handed an A4 sheet of paper and told to call the number of there was any questions about the buggy. No internet password was given, no information about the accomodation itself including there was no reception, there was no information that the rooms would not be serviced even though on bookings it said - service fee of $20 applies, there was no information on which pools could be used and where the restaurant were or supermarket - we just had to figure it out. The room was absolutely filthy and very badly maintained. It said on bookings it was ‘modern’ and the photos indicated that. It certainly was not and what’s more it smelt of an old 50s building. The filth was everywhere. Black mould on 3 separate areas. Dirt and filth in the kitchen with flies stuck to it. The extractor in the bathroom had years worth of filth in it. The furniture outside was falling apart. Dishes were still in the dishwasher. There were no facecloths and only 4 thin and very old towels. The room was not serviced at all. There was a biscuit packet behind the couch and dirt and filth along every skirting board. Mould build up in the shower and around the toilets. Totally disgraceful upkeep of a property and unacceptable vs the photos and the description. In all our travels I have bervrrvstayrd in a place so unclean. We ended up being moved but that was a drama and the place they put us in also had an unclean shower.

- Lynn (5/5): Absolutely love Hamilton Island and location. The unit however needs a refurb. - The view and location were incredible. Inclusion of the buggy was great. Easy access to the beach and pools. The property needs to be refurbished and cleaning required. Beds and pillows need to be changed. Overall cleanliness wasn’t good.
- Samantha (8/5): We love Hamilton Island and will hopefully be back to Catseye Beach in 2026 - Great unit with fantastic views of Catseye Beach, beds were comfy and plenty of room for the famliy. Golf buggy and the location was perfect, BBQ worked on the balcony (don't feed the birds) and there is a lovely pool to have a swim after the beach. Make sure you wear seatbelts in the golf buggy as there are now big fines for this. Try the walks up the hill, lots of different routes to take from steep to not so hard, just walk up the road from the unit and you'll see a map (take lots of water). Marina Tavern is good for a family pub meal but get there early (5.30-6pm) to avoid the 30min wait for a table, the Bakery has great coffee, pies and sandwiches, we also liked the fish and chip shop plus IGA has BBQ chickens as a quick meal option. Beach towels are supplied so no need to pack them. We did the sunset/champagne cruise and the half day snorkelling tour and both were terrific. Overall a wonderful week with our adult kids but remember this is not a budget holiday. I have stayed at Catseye in a unit up from this one 2 years ago (Frangipani unit block) and it was stocked with such things as salt, pepper, sauce, sugar, laundry powder and dishwasher tablets. Be warned this unit has absolutely nothing other than some shampoo, conditioner and soap. IGA is very expensive and does not stock travel sizes, so if you can pack some condiments, breakfast items, laundry powder, extra dishwasher tablets and some tea towels to make it easier on your wallet. This time of year it is very hot so be prepared and bring lots of sunscreen.

The cleaners don’t even clean the place properly before we arrived. It looks as if they just changed the bed sheets and threw out the rubbish. Even the BBQ grill was still dirty from previous occupants. Not impressive and certainly not rated correctly. Location is good but I would not stay here again

- Sharna (1/5): Poinciana Room 008 on Hamilton Island - The only thing nice is the location. The room is disgusting. OMG, what a disgrace Poinciana room 008 on Hamilton Island is extremely disappointing. I don't know where to begin. Lots of things dirty, broken, stained (bedsheets, towels, chairs), no shower curtain therefore the bathroom floor would become drenched when we would shower, cracked tiles, light switches smashed, fire alarm hanging out of the roof & disconnected, screen door doesn't lock, main door lock gets stuck & takes a bit to lock correctly. Floating floorboards throughout lifting, cooking utensils broken, pots and pans handles have fallen off the pots, pots in terrible condition unusable, oven filthy & mould, bathroom door was on a slight angle so you had to use a lot of force to open and close it, blinds were broken and missing parts, outdoor sunbeds were torn and stained, wardrobe door in main room would not open or close, place smelt terribly, light switches were hanging from their sockets, baby high chair was filthy, bedroom fans noisy when on etc. For the price you pay, it's absolutely disgusting. Room 008 needs easly $150,000 spent on it to make it lovely.
- Dave (9/5): Superb - Relaxed atmosphere. Accommodation was spotlessly clean. Views were spectacular, amenities in the accommodation were great. We rang for more face washers and they were delivered within 1/2 hr. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. ATV tour was great. My girls has two massages during the stay. Pool areas were always clean. Only 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom for 7 days. The locks on the family room doors couldn't be locked on either the glass doors or wire doors. They were unlocked when we arrived due to this. Only on face washer per bathroom. Each person staying should have one with their bath towel. Plastic blinds on the golf buggies would of been handy seeing it rained for four of the 7 days we stayed. We had to use our towels to dry the seats all the time.
- Amanda (6/5): Such a shame..overpriced and tatty. - The location and the view from the apartment was it's only assets. My husband loved driving around in the golf cart. We waited nearly 20 years to be able to afford to go to Hamilton island we can't tell you how disappointed we are. The apartment was very run down with flooring that was perishing and had gaps between the planks in the bedroom you couldn't leave your shoes off for fear of hurting your feet. So much dust and cobwebs around the headboard you could tell the bed had not been cleaned under or around in ages. There was a light bulb hanging out of the fitting as it was broken. The highchair was filthy too but fortunately we didn't have kids with us! Bird poo on the cushions on the loungers outside that had just been brushed off and not cleaned. As for the bbq forget it. We looked and decided against it. It was as clean as the rest of the place. The list could go on.... Hamilton island resort on the whole was a disappointment. The resort centre with pool area was not well maintained, in fact we saw no cleaning of the floors in the Sails restaurant or outside decks other than clearing plates and glasses etc and even then most staff left it until it was absolutely necessary. And with an issue of cockatoos moving in as soon as they saw an unaccompanied plate it should have been a priority. Sunbeds were packed away each evening and then put out again next morning but no cleaning. Yuk! Sitting on others sunscreen and sweat, no thanks!

Use of golf buggy was super helpful. Passing this feedback on in case it hasn’t been shared before - the property could do with a professional clean. I appreciate that’s hard with (I’m assuming) seasonal staff maintaining the property regularly but even a one-off professional clean every few months would likely be enough. It was pretty filthy, especially the main bathroom, and the balcony was disgusting and covered in bird droppings which was so unhygienic especially when you’re eating out there. (One suggestion to make the main bathroom look vaguely clean is update the bin and toilet brush. They were so old and gross and immediately made the bathroom look filthy, even before looking at the dirt in every corner of that room). When you open the main cutlery drawer, the smell of grease was completely overpowering. Only the front and one teeny hob at the back on the stove worked. For most people this would be annoying but for families travelling with toddlers (like us) this was actually really dangerous as we had no option but to cook on the front hobs only. The washing machine was fine but the tumble dryer didn’t work at all. (When I tried to Google instructions for the dryer, I couldn’t find it as the product is so old it has been discontinued)! The dishwasher only seemed to work on one cycle. For these 2 appliances, it may have been human error rather than the products being faulty but thought it was worth mentioning. If they do work then please leave instructions for guests to use as it was pretty frustrating. The internet access was wrong so never worked. The comms thats are displayed in the kitchen therefore need updating to reflect how to access the internet. I think better comms about the property need to be displayed on the internet.

The place is a great concept, wish it were a little cleaner, we had to wear our shoes inside or we would have black feet in minutes from the dirty floor. And there was hair in the tub drain. It was nice to have laundry in room. The balcony door needs two people to slide open but once you’re out there, it’s a million dollar view! The person from icare never contacted us a single time, and I had to reach out for check out instructions at 7:30pm the night before our flight because no one had contacted us at all. Luckily we didn’t need anything during our stay and were self sufficient but it was sad seeing that the service was great in the guest book by multiple guests, but we received no service besides charter from the airport, and luggage delivery to airport after we were told to take our buggy and ourselves to the airport. We had a wonderful time and these shortcomings didn’t ruin our trip, however it would have been nicer if these things didn’t exist!

Super easy to come straight off the plane and Dean was waiting there ready to take us to the apartment. And thank goodness for the buggy!! Loved every minute. The apartment itself could’ve been cleaned a bit better. Had a few ants hanging around and some small bits of food on the kitchen bench.

So we had no idea what our room number as the keys that were giving to us had 11 on the tag. Our room number was 104. Rang up to find out and we’re told they couldn’t find our booking. We were told we would be notified when room had been cleaned ready for us, never heard from anyone. Not a good experience.

Very Unclean right throughout the Apartment Doors not operating correctly and hard to lock and unlock Old and uncomfortable Bedding Only 2 Towels provided for whole 5 Day-stay 2 Beach-towels, but soiled. We had to wash several times to clean! Floor peeling in places which cut our feet when in bare feet! Sun-lounges were unusable, old, falling apart and heavily soiled with bird droppings. Outdoor Balcony hadn’t been cleaned for some time. We cleaned with little implements supplied and it stayed reasonably clean for our stay Obviously 🙄 the Cleaners need to be replaced! Buggy included The property needs major pest control. As soon as we brought food into the apartment there was a lot of insects at night and to be honest on the last night I felt really uncomfortable sleeping. Also felt uncomfortable about my children sleeping. The apartment is really a great size but it needs to be a lot cleaner. There was some water damage in the laundry section that should be fixed up. And please spray for pests!!

- Michelle (8/5): This property is in a perfect location on this gorgeous Island. - We were collected from the airport when our plane arrived and dropped at the property. The accommodation has an amazing view and it close to the main shops and waterfront. The accommodation came with it's own buggy so getting around from start to finish was easy. We were collected and taken back to the airport for departure. The wifi was poor and hard to watch movies. The kitchen could have been stocked with a few more items like can opener, colander etc as the kitchen was great for cooking. Stove top was hard to light. Each room needs to be fitted with an extra blanket incase it gets cold. Rooms need lamps for nightime. Back area lighting is poor. Couldn't see what we were cooking on the BBQ.

Cleanliness not good. Dust on fans, dust on air con filters. Bathroom towels just looked so old! Bathrooms really need an upgrade. Bed hadn’t been made properly. Balcony was not clean with bird poo everywhere. Yes, we weren’t staying at a 5 star resort but for $600 per night expected a lot better!!! Wouldn’t recommend & will not be staying again

Couch was sticky grubby, the furniture was dusty. Old grimy rug that we rolled up and stored away. The fly wire doors had so much grime build up on them, when our babies pressed their face up against it they had sticky black grime on their cheeks. The high chair provided was so dirty that we didn’t use it. There was broken baby car seat left in the main room, the vacuum left was broken, there was broken curtains left in the living area.
