I had to check out really early due to traveling for work and I was able to pre-book breakfast for 7am and it was beautifully cooked and ready for when I went downstairs. The staff are so friendly. Love staying here. Uppingham is such a pretty place to visit. Nothing, everything was perfect 👌

Bed very comfy.
Town centre location was nice. A bit overpriced.
Room was old fashioned. In need of a refurb, maybe?
Noise from staff (arriving for 6.30/7.00 shift) standing outside and chatting below our room (Room 6).

Great location
- Ralph (8/5): Great Location, great food and lovely people. - Fabulous food and service, your staff really looked after us, really friendly and professional. Well done! There were no shortcomings that we can think of. Great experience.
- Teresa (10/5): Jewel of a boutique hotel in Rutland - Excellent location and comfortable accommodation. Superb bathroom, linens and toiletries. Appreciated provision of Clipper tea range. Staff were exceptional - attentive, delightful personalities and food was wonderful. We appreciated the choice of cooked breakfasts as well as the a La carte dinner menu. The only negative comment is on the salacious and quite inappropriate choice of paintings in the dining room which were jarring. But everything else was marvellous!
- Michael (10/5): Can’t wait to go there again! - We loved the decor in our room. We found the bathroom very smart but would have appreciated a hand held shower.
The food was outstandingly good.
The staff could not have been warmer or more helpful. Nothing!

- Rachel (9/5): A very lovely little restaurant with rooms which is exceptionally well presented. We would recommend - A very lovely place to stay with decent restaurant, excellent presentation of food, obviously best ingredients used. No skimping anywhere. A quality place to stay. we would recommend. Nothing really to complain about at all. There was a fairly big group of older male diners later in the evening who were loud which slightly spoiled the ambience. But we were half through so simply finished up and retired to our very well presented room.

- Mark (5/5): Passable - Location, Uppingham is a wonderful town, hotel well located Steep staircase up to bedroom, to take luggage up, and to bathroom to fill kettle.
Appeared not able to check with Booking.com regarding payments, as we were asked for payment on two occasions at the end of our stay, despite the fact that we had made payment in full to Booking.com, a few days before the start of our visit, (as requested by Booking.com.)
We left our number, and asked the hotel to let us know when they had sorted it, but to date we have heard nothing from them. It would have been nice to have received an apology.

- Robina (8/5): Superb breakfast, central location, bedroom fine - Breakfast was superb, and the staff we met (on reception and in the dining room) were friendly and professional. The location in the centre of Uppingham was perfect for us, and our Standard King room to the side of the hotel – ie not facing the High Street – was very quiet. The bathroom was spacious, the bed comfortable. The jar of excellent home-made shortbread in the room and the jug of fresh milk for our tea were a nice touch. I would have liked sockets beside the bed, so we could plug in our phones there instead of across the room, and a full-length mirror (I was dressing for a party). I'm not keen on bedspreads in hotel rooms, and the slightly furry synthetic one in our very warm top-floor room on what was one of the hottest days of the year seemed particularly pointless. The bedlinen was nice, though. These are all minor things. I'm mentioning them because for the price (£168 for the night, including breakfast) I expected perfection.
