Guest Reviews
- Julie (9/5): - Very comfortable. Great location. Very clean Nothing
- Nancy (9/5): A charming spot in the heart of Old Quebec….highly recommended! - Adorable apartment in lower Old Quebec. This place is lovely! A view of old row houses across a cobblestone stone lane. The funicular, shops and fabulous restaurants all just a few steps away. This spot was quiet, comfortable and exceeded our expectations. Thank you! Nancy and Devon, Newfoundland and Manitoba
- Thais (9/5): Wonderful and we would return in a heart beat. - Fantastic location, cozy stone wall interior. The stairs going down were a bit tough navigating with a baby and stroller (small landing at the top)
- Lisa (10/5): I would recommend this property to others. - The location was excellent and we loved the stone from long ago-felt like we were staying in a piece of history.
- Dominique (9/5): - Emplacement idéal
- Isabelle (9/5): Was very happy and would recommend. Will definitely rent again - Clean, quiet street, close to everything by foot in Old Quebec City. Nothing. It was just as advertised. No surprises
- Veillette (10/5): -
- Jane (9/5): -
- Herbert (10/5): -
- Julie (8/5): We really enjoyed our stay as the location was fabulous and gave us the freedom to come and go as we pleased. - Location and the amount of space of accommodation After a long journey it would have been good to find a welcome back of tea, coffee, milk. Instructions for the TV also didn’t work.
- Martin (9/5): Fantastic location, great apartment - Amazing location. Very nice apartment which preserve the style of old Quebec construction Checking in was more complicated than necessary. The link to check in you receive does not work. The management knows about it but will not inform you so you have to call them to tell them something is wrong with their check in link.
- Danielle (10/5): We loved the apartment such a great location and the apartment t was wonderful! - The location and the unique and fully equipped apartment
- Stefan (10/5): - Top location, very comfortable loft, loved it.
- Mary (10/5): - We loved the location of our little apartment/studio in Vieux Quebec. The area is very walkable--in fact, the only time we took public transportation was the #800 bus to Montmorency Falls. Lots of hills and stairs, including a flight of stairs down to the studio itself, but a short walk to Petit Champlain, full of shops and places for a snack or meal. The living area of the place looks directly out onto a pedestrian street so we kept the curtains closed, but we were out exploring all day. It would have been nice to have a grocery store nearby--the small shops had very limited offerings.
- David (9/5): Within walking distance of all the sights - Old world walls and new furnishings. Great location!
- Jacqueline (10/5): - This property was beyond our expectations! It was right in the heart of history, art, culture and more! Easy walk to coffee, restaurants, artisan shops and a lovely walk (climb) to the historic Frontenac. The property is full of history and character but still offers all the modern amenities. Kitchen although we discuss it - was fully stocked if you choose to use. Bed was comfy and the large windows made the suite bright. Highly recommend!
- David (8/5): - Perfect location in the lower city a few steps from Place Royal. Comfortable apartment other than the couch which was below standard. No microwave, unless we missed it. Lighting could be improved. Very clean and secure. I would return.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Mariève (10/5): Localisation, confort et charme exceptionnel - La localisation
- Swisschopper (10/5): Situation parfaite, calme et très bien équipé. -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice apartment, great location! Bad sofa bed - Beautiful apartment in an amazing location. The management was very responsive and friendly. We had a (mostly) great experience here!
There were two negatives:
- The sofa bed is not really big enough for two people, and it is very uncomfortable. We called the management company to ask for a mattress pad but they did not have anything like that available.
I would not recommend this location for more than 3 people, since the sofa bed is not really big enough for two. Our 2 kids (ages 12 & 16) slept badly and complained a lot.
- The cleaning could have been better. There was dried out cheese on the floor in the living room, and the baking sheet also had dried food stuck to it.
If you stay here in the summer, you should be aware that the city of Quebec has fireworks every Tuesday & Thursday night. They are very close by, and pretty loud here. It’s fun to go and see them! But if the loud noise will bother you, a different location farther from the river might be better for you in summer.
- Julie (9/5): An experience! - Perfect location during our stay, central to everything we wanted to see and do. I wish we had more time in Quebec City. Accommodations were clean, modern, but in a historic building. I considered it an experience to stay in such a quaint space. During our stay, it was quiet and comfortable at night. Lighting in the bedroom, it was quite dim. The sink in the washroom was very tiny. The shower knobs were difficult to turn.
- Chris (10/5): - Perfect location for seeing the old town.
- Tara (10/5): - Les Lofts Notre Dame was a great place to stay in Old Quebec. The loft was clean and had everything needed for a pleasant stay.
The location was in the center of everything.
I wish we had gotten more details ahead of time on a timeline of when we would get check in details and how we had to prepare for checking out.
Otherwise…perfect!
- Tara (10/5): - We had a fantastic visit in Old Quebec at Les Lofts Notre Dame. The location was perfect. We parked at a nearby lot and paid the per day rate which was easy and close.
- Thomas (10/5): Great city; excellent accommodations. - Excellent location, very convenient. Québec City is fascinating and we spent little time in the accommodations because we spent so much time walking the city, but the apartment was very comfortable and quiet and a perfect refuge for us to rest up for the next day. The bathroom door squeaked, could use a drop of oil.😊 Everything was fine.
- Caroline (8/5): Great location - Location in the old town was great. Just off the Place Royale and near the Funicular. Comfy, clean and plenty of amenities provided. Small portion of the main window that hasn’t got a black curtain or any curtain. We took a portable black out blind (shown in my pics) as my daughter was staying on the sofa bed in that room and I wouldn’t have liked the lack of privacy had we not done so.
- Martin (10/5): - Great location Nice place
- Chris (10/5): - This property was in a perfect quiet location. Very clean with a modern design. We loved it.
- Sanathan (10/5): - Awesome place! You have a whole apartment to yourself, in the middle of old Quebec City.
The only difficult part is that you can't really drive up to it during your check-in time -- you have to park nearby and walk your stuff in. We were there for only one night, so we packed only what was needed in a duffle back and walked it in, that would be my tip to you.
- Christine (10/5): - Excellent property in a great location. The parking recommendations were not helpful without better instruction. It was difficult to find this property on a rainy Saturday evening during the holidays (many pedestrians and closed roads) and better instructions on how to unload our belongings prior to parking in the nearby lot would have been helpful. Otherwise, excellent place and would definitely recommend.
- Davidson (10/5): I was in love with the loft space and excited to be surrounded by such beauty - Amazing location without wonderful accommodations. I wish I had received my check-in questions sooner than same day so that I had the information I needed sooner
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Darcy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lance (10/5): - What a unique place in one of the best locations in old Quebec City. Wonderful stay and top of our list when we return.
- Justin (6/5): Needs new locks and spare bedding for the price - Our night was not ideal. We planned to use both sleeping options but when it was late and we were tired and ready to sleep the pull out was dirty. There were multiple guy hairs, a live bug, rips in the sheets and black stuff maybe mascara who knows. I looked for a fresh set of sheets and there was no other options. I was not starting laundy that late for the price of the room.
All the adults had to squish in one room. It made for a terribel sleep along with not feeling completely safe because the indoor lock system is useless. If you know the code the chain is long enough to unlock from the street. Not having a door locking system to feel secure made my adult daughter unavailable to sleep well, as she tried her best to get crafty with the chain with no success.
The location is a dream but with the extremely long night we would not stay there again and had to retrack our recommendation to friends. Hopefully the locks get updated and people can enjoy the experience better than we did.
The photo upload is not working or I would share the pull couch photos
- Michael (9/5): Great place with incredible location. - Location and size of property Mattress had broken springs and couch was uncomfortable as cushions constantly fall off. Also need to block one window from street view as no privacy.
- Su (9/5): Great location in the romantic Old Town with a few quirks that may annoy sensitive travelers - Fantastic, sufficient square footage for 3 people, well stocked kitchen, modern facilities (dishwasher and laundry) The sofa bed mattress was bent in the middle, right next to the street so you can hear the street sweeper roaring by at 5am, lights were too dark or the bulbs were out, the bathroom sink is TINY, inadequate soundproofing
- Don (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (5/5): Passable - Location One of the beds had a huge lump, was very uncomfortable. Phoned to have rectified, said they would sort but didn't hear back on our stay. No blinds on one window in lounge, so very bright when trying to sleep. Only 1 towel each for a 3 night stay! Also the place was not clean at all. Only positives was location and good space, though minimal lighting in bedroom
- Zachary (10/5): - Amazing location for walking Old Quebec City!
- Kaii (10/5): Fantastic one-bedroom suite in old town location that is secure and safe! - The one bedroom suite is located next to the Place Royale, one of the famous old town locations. We walked everywhere, including all the hundreds of steps of stairs. This area is popular and crowded, but the suite is secure and safe. The fully functional kitchen is great; however, we enjoyed the top restaurants around instead! After a long trip, we found more than one "15" Rue des Pains Bénits. I rang the wrong buttons and spoke to strangers. A picture of the front door, including the key pad would be very helpful.
- Hannah (8/5): Great location, good for friends. - Location was great! Stayed here with a friend. The pull out sofa did not have an extra sheet, and there was no cover for the Duvet. Sofa bed was uncomfortable but that is to be expected of a pull out sofa.
- Josh (6/5): Pleasant -
- Richard (10/5): - Faultless. Amazing property right in the heart of old Quebec City. Condition of property was superb, amenities first class. We loved it here and could have stayed longer.
- Suzanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maryam (8/5): Superb location - Great location, big space, very clean and modern, they have provided adequate amount of towels and bedding.
Fully stacked kitchen. The bed frame was a queen size as mentioned on the site but the mattress was a double. Also the mattress was in rough shape. They was a coffee machine available but it would be great to have coffee filter and coffee available.
The check in instructions were a little bit confusing, and the actual entrance was different than what was listed on the address.
- Michal (8/5): Very good - Location There was a bad smell in the room and no chance to open the window
- Sima (2/5): Not bad in terms of comfort, but scary, not what I was expecting. Very dark and gloomy, and the no parking and spinning - Proximity to things No parking. Terrible for people with an injury (like myself).
- Edward (10/5): High ceiling, comfortable - Great location beside the small famous church None
- Martin (9/5): The loft is a few feet from Place Royal in lower town, it is just beside "Église NotrexDame-des-Victoires". Be - Close to Place Royal Hard to access by car between 11am and 11pm.
- Rodriguez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - The property was central to art galleries and shops
We loved the size of the accommodation
It is very clean
Highly recommended
- Judy (8/5): Fun! - The tv and WIFI didn’t work well and the dishwasher kept shutting off.
- Julie (10/5): Cozy stay in the heart of old town Quebec City. Would definitely stay again! - Location, plenty of towels, private entry, washer/dryer, modern design in an old charming building. The main windows need the curtains to extend to the side corner.
- Seo (8/5): Very good -
- Ghina (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. The property was great!
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (7/5): Lovely stay - Excellent location
Luxury room with generous size
Comfortable bed
Modern unique design room with Good facilities: washing machine and dryer Stairway - has to carry heavy luggage down
Room: Lack of privacy as people walk by the windows
- Matthew (10/5): - What a fantastic property in a perfect location! The only difficulty was getting taxi service drop-off close to the entry, since the streets are really walkways.
- kathryn (8/5): - Great location. Spacious.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandeep (2/5): - This was a nightmare experience! Someone broke into the unit and stole my professional camera and lenses when I was asleep. The property management claimed that they had CCTV footage of the doorway but did not share the footage with me. I filed a police complaint so that at least the cops can get a copy of the footage. It clearly appeared to be the work of someone who knew the code to the door.
I had to push the management team to even change the lock code considering I was feeling so unsafe. They were initially very hesitant.
The security of this property is awful…
Overall, this was a horrible experience and I will definitely discourage people from booking properties managed by the Les Lofts group.
- Susan (8/5): - Wonderful apartment on a very quiet street. Wonderful combination of history in the stone walls and modern conveniences, including new style dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave, stove and fridge. Beautiful big windows capture the quiet street and stone face of the buildings opposite. The staff are on call 24/7 and helped to solve a minor issue with the shower. A QR code on the door when you enter from the street provides a lot of helpful information. A printed copy of instructions would be helpful for some people. Location is directly behind L'eglise Notre Dame de la Victoire in the centre of Basse Ville in Vieux Quebec. Wishing we could have stayed longer!
- Ingrid (10/5): - Great location. Beautiful loft in an historic building.
- Daniel (10/5): Classy and Hidden in Plain Sight - This is a beautiful and place to stay right in the middle of old Quebec. Although it is literally in the middle of all the tourist focused dining, shopping, cafes, and art galleries; its location on a somewhat hidden ally beside the Notre Dame church gives it some privacy and a sense of being away from the crowds. Many of the walls are original stone. The updates are modern and beautiful. The living room windows face the street at eye level, so you probably won't want to open the curtains at night. Overall, highly recommended.
- Nigel (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, well equipped.
Excellent location. Nothing
- Carl (8/5): Great location, great space - Hyper private
Located in the hearth of Quebec Old City
Near all the main touristic attractions
Great interior design
Spacious bedroom and living room
Huge windows Impossible to drop our luggage prior to check in( big logistical problem as we were obliged to find a temporary solution to prevent walking with our 4 bagages all day long)
We were awake at 4:30 am by the screams of birds
whom have elected refuge in nests built. all over the building exterior wood facade structure )
- Minerba (10/5): - Great place in old Quebec. Perfectly located and very clean.
- Ted (10/5): just a wonderful location close to everything! - location the decor
- Lindsay (9/5): A wonderfully charming location in Old Quebec! - We LOVED this stay, and would absolutely recommend it and stay here again! The location was phenomenal -- right around the corner from a quaint town square and a couple blocks away from the cutest street in Old Quebec -- Petit Champlain. We were near restaurants and coffee shops, yet we never had any trouble with noisiness, even during the height of Christmas festivities. All we really heard through our bedroom window was some snow scraping in the morning (which really just added to the winter-y atmosphere). We loved that the Airbnb had its own entrance to an adorable cobblestone street, and all of the kitchen amenities were perfectly convenient. We found the TV setup to be a little tricky, and the couch could be more comfortable, but the bed and bedroom were incredibly clean and comfortable, and the whole place was spotless and stylish. Note: if you want to go to the Christmas markets, you will be walking up and down steep stairs to get to the upper parts of the Old Town, but for us that was a fun part of the wonderful experience! Opening up the front window curtains to see our charming Old Quebec neighborhood in the freshly falling snow will be a memory we'll hold onto always. We found the TV setup to be a little tricky to navigate (perhaps including some printed instructions would help), and the couch could be more comfortable (perhaps you could add a large pillow or two to the window seats to provide another comfortable sitting area) but overall everything was really great!
- Sabonna (10/5): - Location Location Location
- Marc (8/5): Very good -
- Teresa (9/5): Awesome stay in the heart of old Quebec City - We were quite happy with the space overall. It had all the basics we needed. The location was perfect for our two night stay. Many of the sights along with some nice restaurants were within a 10 – 15 minute walk.
For anyone who's driving in, the old city area doesn't have much parking but it is not pedestrian-only even if it looks like it is (mainly due to all of the cruise-ship tourists roaming the cobble stone streets). Both of the lofts listed for this area can be reached by car for unloading and loading (just pull over to the sidewalk). It's a relatively short walk to the parking under city hall (hotel de ville), which ran us (US)$25 for two days (with no in/out privileges but you don't need a car in that area). There are some cheaper options but we chose to keep it simple. Although it had all the basics a mirror (or two) on the walls would brighten up the place a bit.
- Cathy (10/5): - This apartment has absolute solitude-there are no other apartments attached and it was wonderfully quiet. Fabulous location, steps from the funicular and the river. 10/10 would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The only improvement needed is to strengthen the door lock. All that would be needed is a good yank and someone could easily get in if they wanted to.
- Marv (10/5): - My spouse and I were extremely pleased with our stay at Les Lofts Notre-Dame. The suite was charming and exuded the history of the area, while having all the modern conveniences we have become accustomed to. It was clean and very comfortable. It was very close to everything that one might want to do in Old Quebec City. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Quebec City. It is without hesitation that I would recommend Les Lofts Notre-Dame!
- Gerard (10/5): Perfect location!!!! - What a great spot in the middle of everything, but on a relatively quiet alley that you don’t feel it once you are settled in. This is a chic loft. After a long drive, it was great to end up here. We were able to unwind, freshen up for dinner, and stroll the old city literally outside your front door. When we came back, we settled with a family game of scrabble that was in the place, before hitting the bed for a great nights sleep. Will definitely stay here again.
- Tracey (10/5): - The loft location was absolutely perfect! We loved how it was nestled on a cozy, quaint and quiet cobblestone street!
- Verified traveler (10/5): A++ - Incredible location. Very welcoming place and outstanding customer service. Very clean as well! I would recomment to anyone in a heartbeat.
- Sandra (10/5): - Excellent location and facilities. Very clean and modern apartment. Toiletries, towels, kitchen utensils provided. Two minute walk to Petit Champlain and a variety of restaurants close by.
- Jan M. (8/5): Excellent location! Just what we needed!! - Excellent experience renting! This property is located minutes from shops, restaurants and beautiful buildings. Cabs have a hard time finding it so you may have to walk a block. It’s on the opposite side of Les Lofts Champlain.
Loft has everything you need, washer & dryer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes cutlery and fridge/freezer.
There were only salt and pepper for spices.
The loft supplied dishwasher pucks and laundry detergent, soap, shampoo and conditioner.
There are small specialty grocery stores and cafes within minutes. Also The Metro grocery store had everything we needed for breakfasts and lunches, snacks and drinks. It was a twenty minute walk. Our backpack was ideal for this. SAQ had wine, beer, coolers and hard alcohol.
We enjoyed many local restaurants such as Cotes a Cotes, Lapin Salute, sous les Fort, D’orsay Pub and Les Anciens Canadiens which were all within walking distance.
We took a half day country bus tour to Montmerency Falls and St Anne du Beaupres Church which was amazing. We stopped at a Chocolatiers shop and a Copper Art gallery as well. Tour guide was excellent (Gary). Pick up and drop off at The Chateau Frontenac.
Downtown shops such as Mary’s Popcorn, Cows (icecream) and Chocolatier ice cream (? Name but had a red sign and across from Cows) where they dipped your soft serve in delicious chocolate. Go for the smallest size as they are incredibly rich in flavour!!
Enjoyed our trip very much!! Thank you
- James (10/5): Notre Dame lofts - Great stay at this clean modern apartment access was easy via code and the room is spacious with large kitchen, living room, and bedroom, unit is updated and well located with cute shops and great restaurants a few steps away!
- Kimberly (10/5): Beautiful Loft and great location - Other than slightly hard to find and the key/keypad arrangement to access the loft which was a little confusing, the loft was beautiful and in an excellent location. Wish I would have been able to stay longer
- Verified traveler (10/5): Impeccable Old Town Apartment - What a beautiful apartment right in the center of the lower old town. Very convenient to shopping, the funicular, restaurants, and sightseeing. Be aware that cars are not permitted on the street adjacent to the loft, so you will need to drag your luggage over some cobblestone streets. You must also walk down a flight of stairs to enter the loft. The loft has been impeccably renovated and furnished with all of the amenities you will need. The decor is modern and lovely and there are big windows in the living room that look out over an Old Quebec City street. My only negative comments are that a tv in the bedroom would be nice, and the couch in the living room is pretty uncomfortable.
- Liz (10/5): - Beautiful, modern, very clean, high quality equipment place. In an apartment was a coffee maker but no coffee beside that everything was excellent
- Michelle G. (10/5): Right in the heart of things. - Beautiful and modern space tucked right in the heart of things in Old Quebec City. The accomodations were exactly what was needed in exactly the right place. Something to keep in mind...you will have to carry your belongings a few blocks into your neighborhood - place not accessible by vehicle.
- Gail (8/5): QC Get Away - The unit location is amazing! The bed was fairly comfortable, but the couch was awful - we actually avoided sitting on it which left the common room fairly unused. The bathroom was SMALL and the sink was clogged. We did need a late check in which appeared to be not possible on the website but Lofts worked with us on it. That was really awesome!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It has a really great kitchen, and is perfect if you are staying in the city for a bit. It feels like a little apartment but nicer. I would honestly recommend this place to anyone.
- Max (10/5): - Outstanding suite, outstanding location. Loved it. Should have stayed 2 nights!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything was perfect in the loft. The only inconvenient is the parking. But everything else was perfect. Planning to go back to the city in the summer and we're thinking on staying there again.
- April (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay and didn't leave until we re-booked for next year. We went here for the Christmas Markets and fell in love with petite champlain, the shops, the restaurants, the lights, and the people. We did a food and history tour our first day which we highly recomend. The apartment was perfectly situated and we had fun with the large windows. Everything in the apartment felt brand new and the kitchen was very well stocked. Our only disappointment was the cable channels not working so we missed Charlied Brown Thanksgiving special and the Macy's Day parade but the folks I was emailing with were responsive.
- W.Andy (10/5): - In the center of old Quebec City makes it the ideal place to stay with all the comforts of home. Thoroughly enjoyed Lofts of Notre Dame. Any future visits to Quebec City will include staying at the Lofts again if possible.
- Edit (4/5): - Convenient location. However, shower did not work properly. We could not regulate cold water as the handle appeared broken. We waited for maintenance staff who did not show when told over the phone. We had to stay one day without showering, I had to wake up earlier as I was told staff will show up between 6-7am on August 6. Very disappointed. I should get a compensation for these inconvenients. I did sent this review last week to Expedia but no word was sent to me regarding this problem. Is this the way problems are solved???
- Andre (10/5): - It was really nice. But in the morning pretty loud
- Eve (10/5): - We had a great stay. Great location, lovely apartment, exactly as described. We plan to stay there again.
- Laura (10/5): Great apartment in the old city - Great location - right in Place Royal!
- Edward (10/5): - Place was great. Clean and conveniently located at the center of the church square. A bit of construction going on at the church making it a bit noisy in the AM but didn't bother us too much.
