• Heather (8/5): Lovely, would stay there again. - Comfortable room and fully equipped ensuite with shower cap etc, Lovely garden surroundings. Very good breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. A little bit of mould in the corner of the bedroom. Couldn't turn the fridge down so food became frozen.

Ze waren ons vergeten te vertellen dat op zaterdagavond er geen kok aanwezig was. Grab bood uitkomst, maar wel goed even te checken als je er verblijft en er ‘s avonds wilt eten.

• Helena (9/5): Prima plek nabij de drukke stad - Een kleine oase in de drukke stad Jogjakarta. Het bed is schoon en goed, er is airco en de douche was lekker. De keuken kan doorlopend iets voor je maken, ontbijt kies je de avond van tevoren incl de tijd. Zelfs 's nachts was er iemand bij de receptie. Het personeel was heel vriendelijk. Het ligt in een net wijkje net buiten de ring van Jogja. Ik dacht dat de stad dichtbij was, maar dat kostte toch meestal wel 40 minuten of langer met een taxi. Borubudur en Prambanan ook meer dan een uur rijden.

• Isabel (10/5): - No puedo decir que me gustó más, porque todo nos gustó, desde la amabilidad del personal, que nos prepararon un pingni porque nos íbamos antes de la hora del desayuno hasta lo limpio que estaba todo. Las camas muy cómodas, el baño muy limpio.y muy amables todos. Recomiendo el apartamento, no está en la misma ciudad, pero para los que quieren tranquilidad es el sitio idílico. No hay nada en ello.

• Mir (9/5): Hotel bonito, cómodo y con un personal muy amable. Muy recomendable - El hotel es precioso, decorado con mucho gusto y cuidado. Las habitaciones son amplias y muy cómodas. Todo está muy limpio.Te preguntan cada día si quieres que te limpien la habitación o no. El personal es muy, muy amable y servicial. Tuvimos un cambio de días en el viaje y para que nos pudiéramos quedar más días, nos cambiaron a una habitación superior por el mismo precio que la estándar desde el primer día. La piscina está muy bien, limpia, con toallas disponibles y hamacas alrededor. El jardín es muy bonito y transmite tranquilidad. El desayuno es a la carta a recoger entre varias opciones de packs (Indonesio, americano y pancake). También muy bien presentado. La ubicación algo alejada del centro de Jogjakarta le da tranquilidad y está más cerca de los sitios culturales más importantes. Eso sí has de usar transporte privado o taxi para llegar. Lo único por lo que no podemos ponerle un 10, es por el baño. Aunque está todo muy limpio, los baños necesitan un repaso de mantenimiento general, porque se ven algo viejos y con humedad y eso hace que a veces se note algo de olor al entrar Y una cosa menor, el desayuno muy bien, pero el zumo es de polvos y es una lástima porque lo fastidia un poco.

• saskia (10/5): Heerlijk! - Rumah Mertua Hertage is een super fijn mini resort, met een romantische binnentuin, heerlijk zwembad en gezellig restaurantje. Weg van de drukte en smog van de stad, terwijl je met een ‘Grab-taxi’ zo overal bent. Ook handig al een end richting de Borobudur tempels. Mis ook zeker niet de fabuleuze kunst in het Afdandi museum! De staf is heel vriendelijk, staat altijd klaar. Hielp ons ook een leuke fietstocht door de dorpjes en velden rond de tempel te boeken.

We enjoyed everything: a beautiful garden with a lovely pool, good food, availability of tea, water and coffee at all times. The staff was extremely friendly, caring and helpful. The location of the hotel gives you the chance to reach Borobudur, Prambanan and the city centre at a reasonable time. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends.

• Stephen (10/5): Great price, great location, peaceful - This place was a wonderful midway point on our trip in indonesia, the price was so cheap and absolutely 5 star staff. they were so accomodating and went above and beyond. One time I mentioned in passing how cool it was they had lychee fruit trees on the property and that night had a branch on our door step with the fresh fruit. Its a nice little oasis but still close to lots of cool areas. Room was beautiful but bathroom was little outdated but what can you expect for the price. Maybe fresher towels if I had to really be picky!

• Justyna (8/5): Superb vibe - We enjoyed our stay at Rumah Mertua. The hotel has a very classy style, lost of wood and decorations. We enjoyed the peace and quite of the neighborhood! The breakfast was ok. Stuff was absolutely glorious and helpfull at all time! We also loved the pool and free towels! One evening the pool was closed, due to cleaning. But we loved to see that they are taking care of it! You need to be aware that it is nowhere close to city center, around 20-30 minutes by car, but we loved it. Breakfast was a bit small for us, as it was a la carte. You have to choose the day before what you want and what time, but some people might like it. Bathroom was a bit old and worn out! With some bad smell, but this is general issue of Java…

Breakfast has options, so it is convenient for us to choose whether local nasi goreng or american breakfast style breakfast. we came to Jogjakarta and stay in this guest house to visit our brother's daughter wedding, so it was critical for us to reach the destination early before akad nikah ceremony. Thank You for serving us. please prepare the staff earliest in the morning, to prepare early breakfast and provide services for guest to check out from the Guest house.
• Nur (6/5): Private stay - The ambience of Rumah Mertua Heritage is so lovely. The only cons was we had to change room because the aircond was malfunction. But the staff is really helpful entertain our request to change rooms. It could be better if we can stay in the family room.

• Inge (8/5): Peaceful and enchanting - a sense however of emptiness and forlorn - delightful pool in the midst of the enchanted garden, sheets were crisp and clean loved the heritage decor the restaurant service is minimal, e.g. table clothes in the restaurant not cleaned (crumbs shaken off), the floor as well in the eating area was not swept in days. I was totally alone for serveral nights, and otherwise there was only one or two guests...something felt strong about this. Also strange that my three work colleagues wanted to stay there as well and kept trying to book and it said the hotel was full. Nobody seemed to mind this lost business opportunity when I mentioned it. They ended up staying at another hotel.

I would prefer to have a more comfortable bathroom. Nothing - all my expectations were met. The location is a bit far from the downtown. But overall, it is a fine hotel. I might consider staying here again in my next trip.

• Jan (10/5): Lovely small oasis in a busy city - Rumah Mertua is a lovely, small, peaceful oasis in a busy city. All of the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming. The small hotel is tastefully decorated with local Javanese furniture and art. Guests gather around the pool or in the beautifully-landscaped courtyard and small open-air restaurant in friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed talking to guests, mostly European and Latin American - we were the only guests from the US during our stay. You can choose many options for the included breakfast, we loved the banana pancake, and they have a full menu for other meals or snacks. We took advantage of their laundry service (excellent) and a driver and car (a safe driver with excellent English) at very reasonable prices. The only drawback is that the hotel is a bit far from the center of activities in town, so we had to rely on taxis, but that also made for a prettier environment and mostly residential neighborhood. Rooms are small, but the shared areas are so inviting that it works well for most guests.
