- Samrios33 (10/5): Great location! - Location was great. Very close to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and nice and the bed was very comfortable. There is no free hotel parking. There's a paid parking lot next to the hotel that can get pricey and valet is pricey. That's the only thing that we didn't like, but we made it work.
- Danielle (7/5): Not for your average Joe. - The hotel was beautiful and clean. The valet parking was just a smidge cheaper than the public parking lot next door. We stayed on the 7th floor and barely heard any street traffic. The room was the smallest room I’ve ever been in. I realize this is a historic hotel that was renovated, but the TV was mounted on a false wall. There was at least two feet from the false wall to the actual back wall. I felt very claustrophobic staying in that room.
- Steve (7/5): - Price was very good, the location is good, and the room was clean and cool. They included breakfast with the rate, and coffee! I think the free coffee was the best thing. Two issues, they don't have onsite parking and the nightlife is very loud outside of the hotel. The noise level is not something the hotel can control, other than replacing the windows with more sound insulating windows. For parking, you must go to a paid parking lot close by, and there's several choices. I arrived late in the evening, and we were leaving at noon, but the parking lot system charged me for 2 days. Less than 24 hours and I paid for 48 hours. Not the fault of the hotel, but I think they hotel should make arrangement with one of the lots to help make this a better experience for guests.

Strong smell of deodorizer everywhere. Indian restaurant on site, if you don’t like that smell you won’t enjoy the hotel. It was strong and then masked by a strong deodorizer. Gross combination. Very very old single pane windows so lots of noise from the streeet.

The hotel was great for access to the River Walk, The Alamo and all other areas of interest, for the price it was fine. Breakfast could have been a bit better, it was a bit basic and not the best, but that was the only thing that was not good.

- Talia (7/5): Perfect location to the Riverwalk! - Location, Location, Location! We were 10 min walk from the Riverwalk and even closer to many bars and restaurants on Broadway. Other attractions were only 20 mins in either direction to get to. Very convenient location and very inexpensive stay. Rooms were extremely small! No place to conveniently put your luggage or belongings. Especially when you are 2 people with suitcases. 1 person in that room might have been ok. It is a very old hotel. Carpeting in the halls and throughout was very old and dingy. Valet parking for someone staying there was very expensive at $45 per day! If we had utilized it, it would have cost more than the hotel stay itself. We were forced to use public parking which was actually cheaper per day. If you are renting a car, do your research.
- Humberto (4/5): Que hotel tan malo - La cama solamente El ruido en la noche es muchísimo no descansas no tiene nada de aíslante del ruido, mi habitación daba hacia broadway los autos que salen de los bares juegan carreras y el ruido es muchísimo el aire se cuela por la ventana de la habitación por consiguiente el ruido y es de pésimo gusto que te cobren 50 dólares por estaciónamiento cuando en todos los hoteles es incluido malísima experiencia no lo recomendaría nunca

There’s a smell; like an awful cheap perfume smell - especially in the walls and lobby. The rooms smell more stall (like very old cigarette smell) but I’d rather the stall scent to the perfume. Staff was not friendly - not even an hello when we checked in just ‘ ID and credit’

- Stephanie (3/5): Overpriced and underwhelmed is the only way to describe Hotel 1914. - I can’t really say I “liked” anything about the property. It was adequate but just adequate for sleeping and not much else. The “best” part was the convenience to downtown San Antonio. To start with, the hotel sent a message that they did not have onsite parking so I was prepared to pay for parking. I did not; however, know the only option was valet parking which cost $102 dollars for 2 nights. The building is historic but not well maintained and shares an address with an Indian restaurant and the smell of Indian food can be smelled even on the 7th floor. Not pleasant. The front desk attendant was less than welcoming. Not rude, just not welcoming. If I had not already pre-paid and could have cancelled my reservation, I would have. I was assigned a room on the 7th floor which was fine but the floor was suffocatingly hot. The room AC was fine but once I stepped out of the room I immediately felt like I needed another shower. The room was extremely small for the price and was only enough room to sleep. There was only a desk chair to sit in, nothing else other than the bed, in fact the bathroom was roomier than the actual room. The complimentary breakfast was only open for 2 hours 7-9, so if you sleep in you’re out of luck. The breakfast was just ok. There was very little variety AND it was served in the Indian restaurant, which was weird. I would not choose this hotel again and feel it was HIGHLY overpriced for what they offered.

Zimmer war sehr sauber und das Bad groß und angenehm. Kaffeemaschine auch auf dem Zimmer. Etwas hellhörig die Wände. Keine Parkplätze und alles herum 45 dollar wenn man über Nacht parkt.

- Melody (10/5): Nice hotel in many ways! - Close to the river-walk, Alamo, and comedy—all within a short walk. Nice room, good shower pressure, nice shampoo/conditioner/shower gel/lotion, great view out of the room window, comfortable bed/pillows, and comfortable couches in the lobby. Our room was in a small corner next to another room at the end of the hallway, it was hard to get the rolling cart thru the door, the elevators are small and it’s a tight fit getting the rolling cart inside, and the lady working the valet service was not very friendly. We had to wait a while to get our car out of valet. The hot breakfast was not great and minimal. The mini pancakes were crunchy, as if they were in the heated pan too long.

The parking is the biggest ripoff I wont ever use the hotel again because of the parking i'm handicapped and the only choices was valay parking or park in parking lot next door to the hotel which cost me $67.00 forabout 10 hours.

The area, paying for parking spots when checking in late! Charging for more than one night!! Charging your card without being told either. Charged twice for the same thing!!
