• V6681QCjohnd (10/5): Two minutes walk from the sights - Great welcoming service at the front desk. Well appointed room in a traditional Matera style with good cosmetics in the bathroom. The lovely lady at reception reccommended local places for dinner as well as breakfast. Would book it again
• Fernweh (10/5): Modern luxury under domed stone ceiling - Beautifully rennovated hotel room combining old stone and stylish design with quite a luxurious feel. Modern bath and sauna area. Comfortable bed. Coffee and tea available. They do not offer breakfast but give good suggestions. Front desk lady was passionatly involved and gave the most extensive information about a town we've ever received (differnt coloured markers were used ;-) Perfectly located just one side street away from the Matera sassi area. Would recommend a 2 night stay off season to get a good feel for the town
• Mary (10/5): - The room was very clean and walkable around Matera. They also allow luggage storage for free before checkin which was much appreciated to drop off and explore in the meantime. I would stay again!
• Travel09941050656 (10/5): Excellent Accommodations in Matera - EXCELLENT! We only stayed one night as we only were schedule one night as we were driving through the area, but these accommodations are so good we wish we would have stayed a week. We will certainly return. The host, Mirella (I believe that's her name) is extremely informative. Accommodations are pristine/clean, safe...there aren't adequate words to explain how great this place is.

• Charlotteholty (10/5): Would definitely recommend!! - Amazing location, easy to find and lots of free parking nearby- although was harder to find when busy. But plenty of blue paid parking on the street. Service was amazing, very helpful and easy to ask questions to on WhatsApp. Room didn't have windows but that was fine as that was expected in the pictures. No door to the bathroom which is not ideal but also fine as it was designed well. The bath was absolutely amazing!! Lots of biscuits, tea, coffee, shower gel, soap etc provided and of good quality. Would 100% recommend.

• roseyg835 (10/5): Beautiful room! - Fabulous, big room right in the middle of the Sassi and new town area, it was the perfect spot for 2 nights in Matera. They provided snacks and a free mini bar which was replenished each morning. Great, quick communication on What’s App prior to our stay made for a simple check in, too. Having an Alexa in the room to play music whilst we got ready was a nice touch too. Would recommend

Anneliesa was amazing from keeping in touch prior to our arrival making sure we got there ok and advised us on where to park where to visit and places to eat and drink. Can't thank you enough The room was amazing, warm, had everything you could need including an Alexa which was brilliant when getting ready. The bed was outstanding me and my partner slept so so well we didn't want to leave the room. You will love staying here it's in a great location close to all the attractions and also close to many many restaurants.
• evelienwuyts (10/5): Matera visit - Beautiful room, great host, very close to the city of Matera. We had fresh water everyday and some sweets. Our room was very clean and located in a great neighbourhood. Our stay here was simply just great!
• tomaszontheway (6/5): Stylish room but the stay was not good - The room was nice and cosy and also clean, but it had no window, only throught the enter door there was some light. So rather the place for sleeping only…. The air condition was not working, after contact with host it was switched on. A lot of problem finding a parking place on the street (property has no parking space) and it is not safe (we got a damage on the car) . Location good, near to old town and restaurants. The host was nice and helpfull. And some attention to details: everything should be eco there, but the cups for the tea/coffee were from polystyrene….
• HELLEMANS (8/5): Goede uitvalsbasis voor een bezoek aan Matera. - Zeer nette kamer, leuk gedaan qua inrichting, met airco en comfortabel bed. Zelf check-in, gemakkelijk en snel. In de ijskast staat water en fruitsap en dat hoorde bij de kamer. Dicht bij de sassi.

• Mary Elizabeth (10/5): Great place to stay! - Matera is an amazing town, and Hydria Residence is a great place to experience it from. The Residence is actually individual rooms in different buildings, but if my room was any indication, don’t be put off by that. How many bathtubs have you seen with their own light shows? It was very cool.
• Ursula (10/5): Most wonderful stay - What a wonderful stay! Hydria has 4 rooms in a 200 year old building. I had room no 1 which has an entrance from the yard but is actually in connection with the other three rooms (later this year Paolo will have two new rooms on the opposite side of the street plus a reception). The room and bathroom were extremely tasteful renovated with a blend of modern and old, all in very light and lovely colours. I loved the bathroom (with a rain shower), it has beautiful modern tiles and a lot of glass (as it is the style now - there is no door but a curtain opposite the zink). You can make your coffee/tea and have one of the supplied biscuits or buy some “real” breakfast (there is a fridge). There is also a little table inside the room to sit at or if the weather is nice you can use the table in the yard. The Hydria is just outside the ZTL and therefore just a few steps from the sassi. I was lucky with the parking (which is free in the,at area). The owner Paolo speaks well English and is very kind to give you tips about visits, restaurants etc. I had a very nice stay here!
• Jonathan (10/5): Excellently kept room right next to the old town - Excellent room, very well located being just a stones throw away from the old town and had everything necessary in the room (hair dryer, towels, radio, mini fridge, TV etc) Mood lighting in the sunken bath/shower was a great touch.

• Renzo (6/5): Bagno con la tenda - Camera carina, ma un paio di gradini sotto la strada. Finestrella alta sempre chiusa perché rivolta al marciapiede. Di notte un piccolo lampeggiante sul tetto del bagno, disturba. L'armadio consiste in un treppiede con gli ometti. In compenso, l' arredamento è molto carino, Paolo è molto gentile e disponibile, la pulizia è perfetta e la posizione è molto comoda ai sassi.
• Tiziano (10/5): Al top - Che dire . Tutto al top . Dalla cortese disponibilità del proprietario alla musica diffusa anche tramite Bluetooth alla posizione a 50m dai sassi . Comodo l’angolo self con macchina caffè ,bollitore , posate piattini e rubinetto. Uno tra più eccellenti b&b mai provati. Arrivederci a presto
• Michael (4/5): Photo's are Misleading - Property photo's are very misleading. The rooms have been redone, but the photos give you the impression of MUCH more space than there really is. We entered our room through a door on the side of the building a parking lot and the patio consisted of a very small square of tiles and a tiny table and two chairs. The bathroom doesn't have a door, just a curtain. The morning "pastry" is all prepackaged from a market, not a bakery. We just accepted it for what is was, but would not return.
