The view from the property was absolutely breathtaking, and it made our stay feel very special. The host was incredibly kind and even prepared breakfast himself for us, which was a lovely and thoughtful touch.

- Smile (8/5): A nice stay. - The host was super friendly. I got lost on the way from the train station to the B&B carrying a suitcase. I stopped near another hotel and called him. The host walked all the way to find me, and took my suitcase and lead me to his B&B. That's super nice of him. This B&B is the highest one of the top of the mountain, the view can't be beat.

- ejain (8/5): Good Time B&B - Lovely, slightly odd, family-run place. Great location, short walk from the top of Jiufen's "Old Street". Our room had amazing views, and was clean and well-maintained. The only thing that could use some improvement is the doors: For some reason, room doors have frosted glass (so you have light from the hallway shining into your room), and the bathroom had no door... Breakfast was decent. This hotel doesn't really have parking, but they showed me a pullout a short walk from the hotel where I could leave the car. You can drive up to the hotel for loading, but it's a very narrow single-lane but two-way road...

- S (10/5): Wonderful hospitality and incredible mountain views - The owners are really friendly and easy to communicate with, even with a language barrier they always want to help. We told them our arrival time, they recommended the best way to get to the B&B, and when we arrived they were waiting out front for us. We were shown to our room which was very clean and the view was incredible! Falling asleep and waking up to the mountain and ocean views was very special. Inside the room there was bottled water, towels, disposable toothbrushes, and some soap in the shower. If you need more toiletries I recommend you bring your own. They told us breakfast time was around 8:30am so in the morning we went downstairs and were served a breakfast with porridge, fruit, raisin buns, egg, fried anchovies and peanuts, and a sausage. Simple breakfast but filling and great to start the day. We arrived late afternoon and owners told us that most things in the area close around 7pm so on their recommendation we left quickly to visit old street which was only 5mins walk from the b&b. The location is really convenient for exploring. Some of the amenities are quite simple, so if there’s anything you really need like toiletries you should definitely bring your own. Our bathroom had no door and was divided with a curtain which you can see in the photos on the listing. It didn’t personally bother us, but something to make note of depending on who you’re travelling with! Our b&b also recommended we take a taxi directly to the property from riufang station ($270 NTD) instead of the bus which stops on old street. I can understand why, the area has lots of winding hills and streets so I think with luggage it would be a little difficult to navigate from old street. Definitely take their advice and get a taxi directly to the property!

- Trpkr (10/5): Exceptional - Very convinience location, the main walking district within reach. The view from the room is so lovely, and super spacious, working air-conditioning is great. Really kind, helpful and friendly staffs they make you feel most welcome. Google translate is great helps. Car park is further in distance. This property is on top of the hills, great view but if you are not fit then that might be a problem. But generally property around here are all build on hills so.
- William (10/5): - "Good Times B&B was a very Good Time." I stayed in the room on the top floor with the view of the harbor. It is worth the walk up; it is only a five minute walk down the hill to one entrance of the Old Road - lots of shops as well as tea and eating spots. The breakfast was surprisingly delicious - not the typical American portion-sized, but adequate and sufficient to start the day. The coffee was superb. Parking a short walk away. The staff did not speak very good English (and I don't speak Chinese) but we made it work with sign language, key words, and smiles. I would stay here again.

Great location to Old Street, close but VERY quiet. Only real big issue was internet. They need to address their firewall and speed. Could not use most of what I needed due to internet problems. I did find it a little overpriced for Taiwan hotel. Area in mountains for hiking just up from location is fantastic. Again nice owner / managers.

Ruifang ! 14:00 !”と勢いでお願いして何とかなります。 部屋はバリタイプを選びました。最上階で、エレベーターはなし。階段が少々急勾配で上り下りが少し大変です。ただ、部屋からの眺めがとにかく素敵です。窓が広くて大きい。部屋も綺麗で空調もちゃんと効きます。シャワーも問題なし。 朝ごはんは1階でオバちゃんが一般家庭にある様なキッチンで作ってくれました。宿主が親戚か、仲間らしき人達と別テーブルで談笑していて、本当に民宿という感じがしました。田舎に泊まりにきた様で落ち着きました。九份観光するには良い立地です。目立つ看板は出てないので、最初発見するまで少し分かりづらいかも。あと、コンビニが近くにないです。総じて満足な滞在となりました。

- Chickenlips79 (8/5): Great location and gorgeous views - This place is an easy walk to Old Street. It has amazing views of the ocean, mountain, and town below. The rooms were very large with plenty of space. It was clean and the staff was friendly. Our only complaint is that the bed was typical of most beds in Asia and extremely hard. If you are only here for a night or like hard mattresses then it isn't a problem, but we couldn't have done more than one night. We would recommend the b&b to others but would definitely warn them about the bed.
- John (8/5): Large rooms with great views - First the positive: the room was very large and had great views. Also had some great personality, had stepping stones in the front door. Also very convenient location to the market, though you will need a cab to get here. Not so good, had a broken light in the room, some of the lights in the ceiling did not seem to work, and generally the place needs a bit more attention. Also had a strange breakfast, they should offer more options. Staff very pleasant and tried hard here.
- RWArby (8/5): Great location and friendly - Great location, only 3 minutes walk to the top the old street - fantastic views over the town out to the sea from our room. Friendly hosts looked after us well, and helped to find some parking on the street nearby for our car. Room was large, a little cold but the blankets were warm. Plenty of hot water in the showers. Breakfast was basic, but tasty - eggs, fish, warm bread and oatmeal. Good coffee as well. All in all a nice place to stay for a night or so to explore Jiufen. Its in a quiet area above the main tourist area.

He was very nervous, didn’t what to expect, not sure how he would fit in. My sister in Taiwan recommended to take him to Jiufun and Tainan. I left Taiwan over 20 years ago, it is in fact easier for me to get around in Honolulu, San Francisco, New York, and Paris where I have lived during the past 20 years than Taiwan. My sister took the lead to plan the trips and make the reservations early on, so we showed him Jiufun and Tainan along with my other sister from Germany. I got my dream room « Greece » at Good Time this time. The room is so spacious with great ocean and mountain view. Coming from small living space of the various cities I’ve lived and worked, I totally enjoy the relaxing space and view here. I spent hours looking at the mountain view from the bed during sunrise and enjoying the change of colors in the sky... wish I could stay there for longer...but we had to leave for Tainan... Food and tea were delicious, people were super nice... he is falling in love with Taiwan...
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice View & excellent location - Stayed in Superior Double Room (Bali), the room is quite big with nice view. It's a good place to escape from city life. Before booking I do read up many reviews saying only 3 mins walk from old streets, indeed it is very near old street. But in details, it's quite a long journey if you are walking from the main entrance (7-11 side). So if you are carrying luggage, always listen to the host *take a cab* to their doorsteps. The breakfast is simple yet is nice. The host is very friendly and we enjoy chatting with them. Bed is too soft for my hubby. - Kelvin (8/5): Hotel with friendly staff, great view and location - The experience was impeccable. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Local knowledge was very good and provided us with a lot of pointers on how to get to places and how to utilise our time. We felt like we had been taken care of by a family member. The hotel is very conveniently located to JiuFen old street. Basically everything was within walking distance. The view was amazing. We enjoyed a superb ocean view while being surrounded by the traditional and historical sceneries of JiuFen. The hosts made us breakfast and brewed us coffee in the morning. They also went ahead and helped us book a car to take us around JiuFen and nearby towns. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and will visit again!

The best thing to share is very warming and helpful owner and his son. Their services are fantastic. They deserve the highest review.
- 08zhanga (10/5): Cozy Taiwanese minsu - The owners of Good Time B&B put a lot of effort into their minsu and it certainly pays off. The owners are a 70s year-old brother-sister duo with the brother's son helping out as well. They do their best to make you feel at home. The sister told us that when the guests leave during the day, every day they clean and sanitize the place and it definitely shows because the place was spotless! Some of the furniture in their dining area is their old family furniture that has been refurbished. Service is also on point. They helped us to arrange for a taxi to the train station the next morning and gave us an early breakfast (at 6 am!) of boiled eggs, bread and delicious coffee. The minsu is located 5-10 minutes walking distance from the old street of Jiufen which is a must-visit. Overall, would recommend this minsu for its cleanliness and hospitality and location to Jiufen old street. We arrived by taxi to the minsu so I am not sure how easy it is to find the minsu if you were to go by public transport. FYI - I booked a room for three people and requested an extra bed (for 800 NT) which was essentially a comforter and a pillow on the ground. Because it was cold that night, the three of us managed to sleep on the huge king sized bed just fine.
- ninalee0077 (10/5): location, service, and price - I love the location the best. It takes me less than 3 minutes walking distance to the old street. The price is also very reasonable comparing to other B&B in that area, especially every room has very nice ocean, mountain, and the old street views. The service is very friendly and the coffee/breakfast is excellent. I'm a coffee drinker, teacher Guo's been to coffee school and he serves free 5 stars coffee in the morning, free hot tea all day long. Overall, I love this Goodtime B&B. Definitely a good place to stay for your vacation or a break away weekend.

Awesome bay view from our room (Oriental Passion). Love the relaxing indoor balcony. Will come again, very interested in trying Greece Mythology room next time.
- Sychim (6/5): A bit tacky - The B&B is situated at the top of Jiufen, next to Long Men Ke Zhan. There is a bus from Ruifang that takes you there directly, but I did not take it: it only runs once every hour. Instead, I took the other buses that took me to Jiufen old street, walked through the street for about 10 minutes before climbing the stairs up on the left, at the corner shop where they have all the poached chickens hanging. I wish I had superlatives for this place but I can only rate it average at best. The B&B, at least on the outside, looks like it is modelled after buidlings in Mykonos or Santorini. I guess they envisioned it to be a slice of Aegean in Jiufen. Unfortunately, that doesn't quite gel. Stepping in, you are greeted by a riot of colours and stuffed toys lining the stairs. Add to that some Chinese furniture and you start to wonder if you've just stepped into a very confused household. Unfortunately, my room did not come with a window. The same riot of colours continued and my bathroom door had a hole of a cresecent moon (but no door handle). The bedroom door was made of frosted glass, which didn't give me a sense of privacy. Breakfast the next day was a confused mix of makerel, sausage, hard boiled egg and a barley porridge, with a side of salad. I would have been happy with just toast. To be fair, the place is clean and quiet and the owners hospitable. I'm not sure what the offerings are around Jiufen but for S$120, I was hoping for something a bit more elegant. This one is clean but on the tacky side.
- Schweizer_Paar (10/5): Fantastic B&B, great location in Jiufen - We were driving by car to Jiufen and we coincidentally stopped in front of this B&B and were extremely lucky to find a free room. The B&B only has 5 rooms and all of them are decorated in a different way. The style is absolutely fantastic. We stayed at a very big room with large windows and great view to Jiufen town. The B&B is located above the main town and old street, which is easy to reach by foot. The B&B is extremely clean and just perfect for a romantic stay. Breakfast was excellent. The owner speaks only very little English, but it is easy to communicate and find a suitable room. This was one of our greatest B&B's on our trip across Taiwan.
- GinaSeh (10/5): Good location - A few minutes from the Jiufen old street(slope though), so the location is great. There are only 5 rooms available and each room has their own theme. Clean and cosy! Owner is really friendly and we felt like home here. Definitely don't mind coming back again if I plan to stay in jiufen again.
- Weiward (10/5): Perfect! - Mr Guo is really friendly and a great host! There are 5 different themed rooms with awesome view of the surrounding. However one of the smaller room -月之森林 doesn't have a window. All rooms come w ensuite bathrooms and is really clean & tidy. This Min Su is 2-3mins walk to jiu fen old street. Just perfect!
- j0yce90 (10/5): Great Minsu in Jiufen with heater!! - Probably the best minsu in Jiufen! Rooms were very prettily decorated and big! In the beginning we were worried as we just heard stories about friends who just came back from Jiufen having to lug their luggages up flights of stairs but fret not as the taxi could drop you off at the entrance of this minsu easily! (We took a cab from the train station and costed us TWD200) Prices are a bit on the high side for a minsu (TWD3,800) if you choose the bigger rooms (which was what we did -- chose the Bali and Sweetheart rooms), but they come with breakfast. The owner was telling us that they became well known among Singaporeans and Malaysians as 向云and her family stayed at their minsu once and really liked it to introduced it to everyone back home (not verified) There are no elevators in the minsu, and rooms are located on the 2nd and 3rd floor but the owners were very friendly and helped with the luggage It is 5 minutes walking distance to the top of Jiufen old street -- probably one of the best locations for a minsu in Jiufen! Wifi was free as well And the best thing of all would probably be the heater!!! Jiufen is known for being colder due to it being up in the mountains, and once I saw that they had a heater I was completely sold as I don't think any other minsus have it (could be wrong). Although it wasn't very cold when we visited, there was a heavy downpour of rain that our shoes and boots were all soaked. Thanks to some newspaper/ toilet paper and the heater, our shoes were completely dry the next morning. Couldn't have imagined how disgusting it would have been to trod around in damp shoes! We saw a group of people in a big van who were stranded right in front of our minsu (as there was miscommunication with the owners of their minsu 龙门客栈 who had multiple residences in different locations) and while it was pouring the owners let them in (10+) which we thought was very nice of them Downside: All rooms in the building have a view of the cemetery, but blinds can just be kept closed. It wasn't eerie at all though! Might want to avoid the Greek room as even the bed faces the cemetery unfortunately As previous reviewers mentioned, the bathrooms do not have doors for some reason which felt a bit weird, but there was a sheer blind that increased a little bit more privacy
- pengsangtang (10/5): Best B&B at Jiufen. - I think the best elements of this 5-rooms B&B are : location, service and tastefully modern decorated. I like the Greek-feel at the entrance, that actually attracted me to walk in for an inquiry. I immediately decided to stay at this B&B. The room is huge with great view over the ocean in front and mountain at the right. Unbelievable and outstanding non-blocking views. It is quiet situated at the top of the hill and from here with only 5 minutes walk to the noisy old street of Jiufen. I find peace and clean air up here. Definitely the best choice in Jiufen.
- Dae-Myeung (10/5): Great view, excellent location and lovely place - Stayed for 2 nights. At first we were worried that it would be too far away from the old street. But to our surprise it was just a mere 5 min walk to the Jiufen old street. Its nice to be near the old Street and yet away from it cos at the B&B we experienced total peace and quiet away from the bustling noise and crowd at the old street. So we got the best of both worlds! We stayed in the Sweet Garden Room with a great view of the mountains and the sea. Wifi was fast, breakfast was adequately sufficient and the host was really friendly. He gave us some tips on places to visit in Jiufen and it really saved us some time and money. He also gave good recommendations on places to eat in Jiufen old street. Overall we enjoyed our stay in the B&B and will return and recommend friends to this place.
- 190kata (8/5): Goodtime indeed - We stayed at Goodtime on 19th July 2014. We stayed at 紫色霧語 Purple Room. Followed the instructions of the minsu in-charge and managed to walk from the rows of shops to this minsu. There's many stairs ... avoid taking too much luggage. A very cosy place. We loved it. The room is very nicely done up ... just one thing we dun really fancy ... the toilet has no door.
- wan1derlust (10/5): Very friendly host and cosy stay - I don't usually give 5 stars but for this B&B, I have to give a 2 thumbs up for them! Being superficial, we chose this b&b base on the photos as there weren't much reviews during the time when we wanted to book. We were so glad that everything turned out fine, in fact more than what we expected! :) The host was very friendly and hospitable. Drinks (we preferred water) were served the minute we checked in as we told them we had a hard time searching the place. He helped us with our luggage back to the room and told us how to get to the market, which was less than 5mins walk away. When we got back, they even served us chilled green beans soup after knowing we were beat from all the walking. Breakfast was served warm too. Very healthy choices, I'd say. And they wanted to save money by taking the train back to Taipei instead of cab back. But managed to be convinced by us instead after helping us with the heavy luggage down from the room. :P We have a young toddler with us! Taking the train back with her and the luggage might be a bit tough. They helped us to get a cab and told him to send us back to Taipei instead of Ruifeng train station. We were truly grateful for that. Back to the room. We took the green room and the view was superb! It has a good view of the mountain and the decor was so sweet that we had to take many photos inside it! My pals were WOW when we uploaded the pics on our social media site. The room was very spacious with a huge king size bed! My daughter was so happy that she ran around and jumping on the bed. It was clean, modern and very well-maintained. There were books outside the rooms for us to bring in to read in. I managed to pick a few books after dark since all the shops were closed and read to my daughter. WIFI connection is free and very strong signal. Over all, we were glad to have chosen here and we will definitely come back again on our next trip. The lady host is pregnant btw, probably my daughter will have a playmate the next time when we are back. :)
- Csbin123 (10/5): Cheerful and sweet room ! - The b&b has good view of the mountains and sea. The room decor is really sweet and spacious, we took many photos and relaxed in the room (instead of going out for sightseeing). The host is a young couple, they offered to pick us up when we called them after waiting for a long time for public transport. They were very considerate to offer us a lower level room instead of the room that we origjnally booked at level 3 when they saw my 70 year old mom.
- Uncle_Ben22 (10/5): Well appointed rooms with good view - Overall, it has been a pleasant stay. The rooms are very clean and the inn keepers are really hospitable. The B&B features interesting themes and is conveniently located with a 3 mins walk to the famous "old road". However, be mindful to check the weather forecast in Jiufen as the scenic view will be obstructed during rainy season. Also, the shops around this area closes quite early by 8 pm and hence visitors may want to bring along their PCs or tablets with them.
