• Paul (10/5): - Absolutely loved the character and natural beauty of the place. If you want peace, quiet and a bit of nature this is definitely the place to go. We booked to stay over our 25th wedding anniversary. Located in a much quieter and less developed area, it was the perfect area to stop and relax for a few days. The beach and lagoon are stunning and great to swim in. The pool is clean with nice shaded areas to sit and read. The staff are fantastic and so helpful. Eric looked after us for our stay and a special mention to Shaamil who was very attentive. Our room was very spacious and clean. Due to the location of the resort, there is wildlife about, but this is what we loved about the place. The food is fantastic and fresh. Fish dishes highly recommended. We ate there and also at a restaurant nearby. You can catch a tuk tuk to visit local sites in Nilaveli including the Hindu Temple. There was a lot to see. We also went snorkeling at the nearby Pigeon island which was fantastic. Snorkelled with turtles and black tip reef sharks. Will definitely stay again!!!!!

• Yolande (9/5): Lovely serene relaxed getaway - C Beyond is a wonderful hotel just north of the main Nilaveli beach area. It’s isolated but serene. Great facilities including a big pool and multiple outdoor dining spaces. Best of all they have a strip of beach that is essentially empty so it becomes your private beach. Staff is friendly and attentive, focused on services. The food is excellent and the vibe is great for a quiet relaxed getaway.

Dans les autres avis, on peut voir des critiques sur le bruit des oiseaux ou les chiens errants. OUI, on est au Sri Lanka! Les standards européens sont évidemment différents, la nature est différente, on ne vient pas au Sri Lanka pour être choqué par des libellules ou des chiens errants sinon on a choisi le mauvais pays ! Tout était parfait
• Alex (10/5): The most perfect time by the beach - We absolutely loved our stay - really comfortable room looking right out over the sea, delicious food in the restaurant and immediate access to the beach. The staff were lovely and incredibly helpful, including arranging for us to go snorkelling, setting off from right in front of the hotel, and they advised us on going to Angel Rock over Pigeon Island. We stayed for 4 nights and loved every second of it. Wifi wasn't great. We preordered our dinner before 5pm on the days when we ate at the restaurant having read the advice of previous reviews, this wasn't a problem at all but wasn't something that the hotel made obvious we should do.
• Mandy (10/5): Amazing view and staff - The view from this hotel is amazing. We really appreciated the hospitality of the hotel staff, they literally do everything to bring convenience and comfort. We liked the snorkeling tour. Sunbeds near the beach were being destroyed/ by street dogs. It's a problem in whole Sri Lanka, but compared to the beautiness of the hotel, this is something that should be taken care of... Restaurant prices are a little high, but the view and food quality is worth it. Also consider the Sara restaurant close by, less view but good food.

Et les photos qui ne représentent pas la réalité. - L’accueil du personnel, le petit déjeuner et le service des jeunes serveurs qui font au mieux. La propreté laisse fortement à désirer, avec des chiens et chats errants jusque sur les terrasses des logements. L’état général de l’hôtel est déplorable, notamment pour les chambres familiales. Les photos ne reflètent absolument pas la réalité actuelle de l’établissement, qui est aujourd’hui très défraîchi. Nous ne sommes restés qu’une seule nuit sur les cinq prévues. Le personnel nous avait assuré, lors de nos échanges WhatsApp, qu’un remboursement serait effectué. Cependant, l’établissement a finalement refusé de procéder à ce remboursement. De son côté, Booking nous a accordé un geste commercial de 100 € sur une réservation de 900 €. Pour tenter de se faire pardonner, l’établissement nous a offert le repas pris le premier soir. Certes, nous avons fait le choix de partir et nous l’assumons, mais cela était motivé par un réel sentiment d’insécurité pour nos deux enfants. Pour couronner le tout, nous avons trouvé une grenouille dans la salle de bain à notre arrivée.

• Tatiana (10/5): Cosy stay next to coral reef - This hotel is tucked away in a really quiet area, just about 200 meters from Coral Island, which made it perfect for a relaxing stay. The room was spotless and nicely designed—it felt both cozy and stylish at the same time. Breakfast was one of my favorite parts. Everything tasted fresh, especially the fruits and juices, and there was a nice variety of local dishes to try. The whole area has a very peaceful vibe, and the ocean nearby is incredibly clean and almost empty. I genuinely enjoyed my time here. • Diana (9/5): Wunderschöne Unterkunft - Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Zimmer (wir waren im 1. Stock) sind sehr groß und geräumig, ebenso das Bad. Der Ausblick vom Balkon mit Blick aufs Meer war traumhaft. Hervorzuheben ist die Freundlichkeit der Angestellten. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt. Eric und Devan haben uns bei allen Fragen unterstützt und Ausflüge/Fahrer organisiert. Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig, abwechslungsreich und überaus lecker. Für unsere Verhältnisse gab es viel zu viel zum Frühstücken und wir hoffen, dass die Reste nicht weggeworfen werden müssen. Auch die Meeresfrüchte-Platte am Abend können wir sehr empfehlen. Der Wasserdruck in der Dusche ist bei warmen Wasser viel zu niedrig gewesen und es war uns nicht möglich die Temperatur richtig einzustellen. Der Betreiber wollte das prüfen und reparieren lassen. Wer Angst vor Insekten hat, ist hier vielleicht nicht gut aufgehoben. Wir hatten regelmäßig Käfer und andere Insekten im Zimmer.
• Dirk (10/5): Wonderful Laid-Back Stay Beyond Nilaveli - Beautiful laid back small resort on a remote beach. My room was large and comfortable and had a huge balcony overlooking the beach toward Pigeon Island. The staff and owner were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was copious...save room for the delicious Sri Lankan options which come as a "fourth" course. Sunrise is dream like. You will share the beach mainly with local fishermen and friendly dogs. Dining options around the resort are limited, but Sara's up the road is a nice place for a light local meal. Internet was a bit slow.

Alles ist sehr sauber und gepflegt, Eric ist ein sehr hilfsbereiter und herzlicher Host. Seine Mitarbeiter ebenso. Das Frühstück ist unglaublich reichhaltig mir europäischen und srilankischen Gerichten. Der Blick aufs Meer ist ein Traum und das Schwimmen im so klaren Wasser unübertroffen. Das Hotel ist sehr abgelegen und ruhig. Es hat jedoch ein paar kleine Restaurants in der Nähe und Eric organisiert jederzeit ein Tuktuk für Ausflüge. danke! Da noch nicht Saison ist, sieht man bei Strandspaziergängen viel durch vergangene Sturmfluten angeschwemmten Plastikmüll, der noch nicht fertig weggeräumt ist. rund ums Hotel ist der Strand sehr gepflegt.

Our room had a plunge pool and ocean view, amazing size and facilities, very private and comfortable! The breakfast is just amazing and every single staff member is kind and hard working to ensure a pleasant stay for the guests. I would absolutely be back. The aspect that makes this place world class and won my heart is the amazing care that is taken of the local community and animal welfare by providing a safe space and for many strays without them being trouble for the guests whatsoever. This is what kindness and corporate social responsibility epitomises and it only brings me joy to know I have chosen to spend my money in a place that takes this amazing care. I can hope that the hotel owner keeps improving this aspect as it speaks volumes for how it's run. And I can only praise Eric for how he manages the hotel and every daily activity, as well as providing information to guests when needed. I didn't learn everyone else's name from the staff, but between the chef, the restaurant staff and the cleaners, everyone was amazing and exceeded expectations with their way of working. Keep up the great work! The location is very isolated, you need transport to get anywhere outside the hotel. Not that I didn't like it as this seclusion is what we chose the place for, but it may not be for everyone! However, there is no better place to stay if you want beach and quiet.

• Andrew (9/5): Heavenly Peace - For Booking .com review Despite the cloudy day on arrival & rough seas, the view from the property straight out to Pigeon Island was breathtaking. This small hotel is a little gem and represents laid back island beach life perfectly. Every room made the most of the view with vibrant soft furnishings & interesting art work . The beach in front of the property was well maintained. The staff, always had a smile for us, and happy to help with our random requests. Despite its remote location they organised our washing to be taken & collected by Tuk Tuk which was such a relief after 2 weeks of being on the road. Rooms Spacious immaculate room with a huge comfy bed, direct view out to the ocean & reassuring mosquito nets Powerful rain shower in the huge bathroom. We woke up early to take advantage of the ocean view & watching the wildlife. One morning woken early by Monkeys on our roof and saw so many birds. Food The breakfasts were huge ( 5 courses) and super tasty, we also ate dinner there and on our last night had the whole fish for 2. Dining on the terrace looking up at the stars & hearing the lapping ocean was a tonic for the soul. This place helps you to slow down …after dinner sitting in comfort flicking through the coffee table books on Sri Lanka wildlife was how we finished our evenings. • Orest (9/5): Feines, kleines Ressort für Ruhegeniesser - Sehr gepflegte kleine Ressort-Anlage mit Zimmern im Hauptgebäude und mehreren einzelnen Bungalows. Die Bungalows (wir waren in einem) sind großzügig geschnitten, teilweise mit einem separaten, kleinen Außen-Pool ausgestattet, die Einrichtung entspricht gehobenem Landhausstil. Die Anlage hat einen direkten Zugang zum (nicht immer sauberen) Strand! Das Frühstück wird serviert und ist sehr vielfältig, die Küche ist hervorragend (Dinner). Der Service zuvorkommend. Die Anlage liegt etwas abseits und sehr ruhig, aber auch etwas einsam, da es im näheren Umfeld fast nichts gibt. Für ein paar sehr ruhige und abgeschottete Urlaubstage sicher perfekt, ansonsten wäre ein (Miet-)Wagen sehr zu empfehlen.

Une chambre tout confort face à la mer (litterie super confortable, linge de maison et de bain moelleux), en prime la douche extérieure hyper agréable. La plage à 20 mètres et la piscine ! • Helen (9/5): Oasis of calm and peace with amazing hosts. - A wonderful oasis of calm after a very busy 10 days. Exceptional service from Eric and all the staff, super friendly and helpful. We stayed 13-17 jan 26 considered off season for the east coast, we were warmly welcomed to the hotel which is tastefully decorated in a beach chic style. Our room ( no 4) on the first floor had a breathtaking view of the ocean. The food was fabulous and the breakfasts outstanding! ( the dogs, cats and birds got the leftovers). Although some of the excursions/ activities were not available but what we did get ws a personal service second to none even when we were the only guests! A wonderful calm and chilled out experience. Nothing, I would have preferred not to have heard the villa next door doing Kareoke (badly) but it did not detract from the wondrful experience we had.
• Julien (10/5): - Extremely tasteful small hotel with a bobo chic feel, located on the beach to the north of Nilaveli. Our room was very spacious, with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The hotel has a nice pool and the breakfast was superb. Nothing, everything was just perfect!
• Christian (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at C Beyond Nilaveli. During our five-week journey through Sri Lanka, this was the most beautiful place we stayed at. As it was the low season, we received an upgrade to a suite with a private pool, only about 20 meters from the beach – absolutely amazing! We truly felt spoiled and very lucky. One of the most fun experiences was the local wildlife. The crows played a little “stealing game” with us 😄 They only managed to take one French fry and three glitter stones our children had collected. Later, we found the stones scattered around the property, which turned into a fun treasure hunt for both the kids and us. We were also visited by a family of monkeys, who joined us in the nearby trees for their lunch. The loud chewing sounds suggested that the leaves must have been very delicious – a lovely and memorable nature experience. The property is very clean, and the service could not be better. The food was excellent, especially the seafood platter, which we highly recommend. The breakfast was delicious, very generous, and offered a great variety. C Beyond Nilaveli is the perfect place to relax, live in the moment, and let your soul unwind. It is absolutely worth staying here even outside the main season. Highly recommended!

• Stan (7/5): Good - This was a nice hotel. It had pretty rooms and was very close to the beach. The beach is absolutely beautiful and so calm and relaxing. For the money they charge, they could upgrade their service. We had freezing cold water for two nights. We also booked our stay with dinner included for $40 per night and then we were only allowed to choose from the menu with a maximum of $30 per night. After I brought this to their attention, this was resolved properly, however it is just not something you want to think about when you book a luxury hotel like this. For the money they charge, there are better options
• Steven (10/5): Great break from the more noisier areas of Sri Lanka, with very modern and well maintained rooms. - The location is a secluded corner of Sri Lanka and with the beach on your doorstep the kids were fully entertained.
• DIMITRIOS (8/5): Καλή επιλογή αλλά ακριβό - Πολύ ωραίο δωμάτιο δίπλα στην θάλασσα για ξέγνοιαστες διακοπές για πολύ ησυχία, ηρεμίακαι χαλάρωση.. Πολύ καλό φαγητό. Υπέροχη επιλογή! Υπάρχουν μερικά στοιχεία μη καλής συντήρησης. Όπως στα φώτα, στους διακόπτες του ρεύματος, στο air condition κ.τ.λ. Με λίγη προσοχή από τους ιδιοκτήτες μπορεί να γίνει τέλειο. Υπερβολικά ακριβό για αυτό που προσφέρει.

We were upgraded to one of the rooms with a private pool and would highly recommend, super private and has an unspoiled view of the beach, amazing for sunrise! Awesome breakfast and evening meals we ate at the hotel were fresh and great quality, a little expensive but service and location made it worth it.
• Simone (10/5): Paradise - When we arrived, we were immediately served a welcome drink, which was just what we needed after the long journey. Then we were pleasantly surprised to hear that we would be getting rooms with a private pool. The beers after our dives tasted even better while relaxing there. Breakfast was excellent and came with some delicious Sri Lankan specialties. They also made sure there were vegetarian options for us for dinner. The rooms themselves were very spacious and well equipped. The property and direct access to the private beach were fantastic. There were hardly any other people around, so we practically had the beach to ourselves. We can only say a big thank you, it was absolutely wonderful, and we would definitely come back. Teilweise war das Fleisch nicht durch. Das BBQ war sehr schlecht, mehrheitlich war alles verbrannt. Die Unverträglichkeiten wurde mehrmals vergessen, sodass man lange aufs zweite Essen warten musste. Wir waren tauchen und haben explizit gesagt, das Frühstück muss in 8:15 Ready sein - das wurde 2 mal vergessen, sodass wir sehr im Stress waren.

The style of tropical modernism and the illustrations by a famous architect make you feel at home in your own luxurious villa. We had ocean view from our bed and couldn’t get enough of it. Персонал не выносит отметки в календарь из сообщений в букинге себе в заметки - написал, что хочу ужин на пляже в определенную дату (считай дополнительные деньги для отеля), а они забыли вынести стол и все организовать, потому что я в обед дополнительно не предупредил. Могли уточнить - упущенная выгода.

Breakfast was ok, nothing special The room was not tidy. The bathroom reeked and the airco was noisy. It’s not what you expect for the amount of money you pay for the hotel.
• Annika (10/5): Wer Ruhe, Exlusivität, Natur und Strand sucht ist hier genau richtig! - Die Lage ist echt ein Traum - die schönen Strände, die man oft ganz für sich allein hat. Das Team, das wirklich keine Wünsche offen lässt, schnell reagiert, aber vor allem sehr kinderfreundlich ist und tierlieb. Unsere Sea View Villa mit privaten großen Pool, Meerblick und der direkten Strandlage - näher am Meer geht es glaub ich nicht. Das Frühstück mit Pancakes, French Toast, Eierspeisen, Früchten und dem Sri Lanka Taste zum Schluss.

• MARIA (10/5): Hotel con estilo en la bonita playa de Nilaveli, en zona virgen de turismo. - Desayuno excelente con vistas inmejorables a la playa y a la isla de Pidgeon, en hotel con encanto y para pocos huéspedes. Hubiera preferido alojarme en el piso superior von balcón, aunque mi hsbitación también tenía buenas vistas al mar.

• Svenja (10/5): Dreamy location right outside Nilaveli - C Beyond Nilaveli is one of the most welcoming and comfortable places we have stayed in! The place is located directly on the shore with a beautiful and quiet beach just in front of the door. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and have a beautiful interiour decor. Although the hut we stayed in was partly "open", we had no troubles with any insects  thanks to the mosquito net provided.  The breakfast is the best and most diverse one we had on our whole trip; the dinner is of high quality as well (even though the prices are comparably high for Sri Lanka). The host and the whole staff went beyond our expectations in order to make our stay most comfortable. If you are looking for a calm and relaxing accommodation to spend some quality time on a beautiful beach, we can only recommend this place! The only thing we could think of: a few more vegetarian/vegan options on the dinner menu. We were both happy with rice/pasta with vegetables, but just as a general recommendation.

This is a small hotel, located on the beach, at the mouth of the estuary, directly opposite Pigeon Island. There is no better location in Nilavelli. Everything has been designed for the comfort of guests - the hotel design and layout of the grounds, the decor, the meals. I hope to come again. Thank you for a memorable experience. Can't think of anything.
• Emily (9/5): Great! - Beautiful location right on Nilaveli beach, the pictures do not do it justice, it took my breath away as we walked through the reception and saw the view from the back. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. Food was lovely, and we especially enjoyed the BBQ night on the beach. Highly recommend for a peaceful couple of nights stay in a beautiful environment The rooms are a little rustic in places, which we expected, but don’t go thinking this is high end luxury. Breakfast felt a bit wasteful as there was so much of it as it was all brought out to you. Not a negative, we just hate wasting food :-)

Creaky bed and a bedroom door that banged in the wind, otherwise perfect.
• Nathalie (10/5): Een pareltje aan een verlaten strand. - Unieke locatie, heel mooi bij de monding van de lagune in zee. Heel behulpzaam en vriendelijk personeel. Ontbijt was top, enkel de volgorde van het opdienen van de gerechten kan o.i. veel verbeteren: koffie, hartig ontbijt, dan zoet. Nu was het lang wachten op koffie, werd er na een halfuur zoetigheid gevraagd of er een eitje gewenst was en kwam er srilankaans ontbijt op tafel. Altijd wel heel vriendelijk, sowieso. De menukaart voor het avondeten was voor vegetariërs wat beperkt. Pigeon island snorkelen geregeld door het hot. Echt de moeite en dichtbij. Whale watching ook geregeld door hotel: heel ruwe, lange boottocht, doordat het hotel een eind ten noorden van Trincomalee ligt. Geen walvissen gezien, ook gasten voor en na ons niet. Wel veel dolfijnen, maar dat voelde fout aan omdat we met veel teveel boten de dolfijnen achtervolgden.
• Emily (7/5): Peaceful stay to explore Nilaveli and Pigeon Island - Private secluded beach location. Really close to pigeon island where the hotel helped us arrange a snorkelling day out. It’s a remote location, so a tuk tuk or driver is definitely needed to go visit Trincomalee or nearby tourist sites. The breakfast also seemed slightly chaotic (but it was delicious), with a too much offered (both western and Sri Lankan) which could lead to a lot of food wastage, and also slow service.

Rooms on the quiet beach, very peaceful but I’m not sure if it worth the price for us. There’s a good restaurant in walking distance, but the hotel has amazing dinner if you pre order fish ahead of time. Overall a very nice and special place I would recommend, but not cheap

We received a very comfortable room with views in 180 degrees towards clean beaches with the possibility to either swim in a private pool, the larger hotel pool or the sea. The pools and room were well maintained. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was very tasteful and served in an excellent manner. • ITO (8/5): - The view from the room window and the breeze flowing through were pleasant, and there was nothing particularly inconvenient about the stay. The staff were friendly and kind. The seafood set we ordered for dinner wasn’t cheap, but it was quite substantial and satisfying. Various sounds from around the hotel could be heard from early in the morning, and the shower temperature and water pressure were somewhat lacking. Overall, it was a satisfying stay. Thank you very much.
• Hamish (9/5): Mixed feelings initially but eon us over in the end. - Great staff who want to make your stay pleasurable, very good food, a bit tired in places but superior to most other options we observed. Has a nice vibe to it. Lovely outlook over the sea from our room and private balcony. The hotel is located a long way out from beach based hospitality best found at Uppuveli, even there it’s quite low key. That’s a bonus for many but a bit too quiet for us. There are no other eating options for several Kms so you need transportation if you want options. That said their dinners were very good and not unreasonably priced for the quality, service and some Western style options. In the end we enjoyed going to the Hawaiian Snack Bar on the beach at Uppuveli during the day, nice loungers, drinks, great food, service and vibe. Then returned to our nice oasis at C beyond for the evening and dinner. It works if you don’t mind 20 mins travel each way… or you enjoy seclusion on a nice but very quiet beach.

The beach was empty and the hotel was small so the pool was quiet. Great setting! It was a 15 min Tuk Tuk to other restaurants but that was perfect for us.
