Guest Reviews
- John (7/5): Some good features but a number of problems - Location. Kitchen No wifi. No working T.V. Bed too hard. Bathroom dated.
- Pat (2/5): Left a day earlier than we were booked for - Not much at all Very old. Why have a smart TV with no access to the internet/wifi
- hangglider (9/5): A relaxing and enjoyable experience - The location was great - just a couple of hundred metres from the waterfront and services. Beds were super comfortable. The house was very spacious and in a quiet neighborhood. Fridge and freezer were very large and very effective. Heating worked well. All windows had easy to operate blinds. The upstairs toilet had dirty splotches on the bowl that left an unfortunate odor in the bathroom. No tissues were supplied. Sound insulation was poor between the two bedrooms that were separated by a single wooden floor/ceiling. TV had no signal.
- Dean (8/5): Amazing stay loved the location - would stay again - Fantastic location, great price and beautiful home No wifi
- Veronica (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, well insulated + heating. Excellent location. Property needs a paint but didn’t affect the stay
- Michelle (10/5): -
- James (8/5): Best place in.Coles Bay to stay - Excellent facilities easy access. Great parking Hot plates in an awkward corner,
No oven
- Jo (8/5): Good location, spacious upstairs lounge - Spacious and had good facilities including washing machine While advised no wifi, did miss it. The land floor board may need looking at.
- Greg (8/5): - Coles Bay House is well located in Coles Bay and offers sweeping views of the bay and ranges beyond . The house is well appointed and very comfortable.
- Ray (9/5): A splendid holiday house in Coles Bay. Quiet and comfortable. - Lovely modern, clean, well-equipped house. Has a delightful comfortable upstairs lounge area with nice views. Good location within Coles Bay, not far from tavern, shops, walks, etc. Would suit a couple or family. Has all the facilities for a longer stay. Plenty of games and books. We only stayed 2 nights. Parking is at the front door. There was nothing we didn't like, but there is no WiFi (this was known beforehand), and the large smart TV was just a bit too smart for us. Never quite figured out how to watch TV. Some instructions may have helped.
- Glenn (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Blick auf Coles Bay - Sehr geräumiges Haus nah am Nationalpark.
- Xiaochen (8/5): Very good - I forgot I need to move all of the luggage upstairs.
I wish oil and salt is provided for cooking.
- Nigel (9/5): Superb -
- Peters (8/5): Very good - Kitchen facilities
Views beautiful
Close to town, port
Parking
Good heating
Beautiful photographic books
Plenty of fridge/freezer space Fly screens need to be fitted properly as not sealed at all.
Mattress Toppers as beds a bit hard.
Poor reception for TV
- Susan (8/5): Very good - Clean and comfortable house with everything we needed for our stay. Great view from the balcony Could only find 3 mugs, but otherwise kitchen facilities were excellent
- D (8/5): 2 nights in Coles Bay 10/12 Feb ‘25 - Pleasant couple of nights at Coles Bay, although weather was variable. Must do walk up to Wineglass Bay look out if weather is clear. Don’t make our mistake of walking up to the main visitor centre as you can take your car right up to the top car park to start this walk. There is also a boat cruise around the bay if weather allows. Good eatery in the town centre. Try the seafood linguine.
- Cleveland (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renee (8/5): A very pleasant stay in Coles Bay. I would recommend the property. - The property was spacious and comfortable, good off street parking. The only complaint I have was that the queen bed upstairs was uncomfortable. Maybe time for a new mattress or quality topper.
- Alexandr (10/5): Amazing beautiful spacious house right in the heart of Freycinet, Coles Bay, super well equipped for an extended stay, g - Everything Nothing
- Steph (9/5): Great place to stay - Very clean, spacious and convenient. Plenty of room for the two of us. Would be a great family getaway. It was a cold weekend but the house was cosy and warm. Lovely big windows that let in loads of natural light. Would definitely stay here again. The bed & pillows were a little bit hard but that could just be us and our preferences.
- Sharyn (8/5): Very good -
- Mandy (9/5): This is the 4th time renting this property….and we’ll be back again. -
- Moira (9/5): Superb -

- Willameena (10/5): - Fantastic property!
Had everything we needed.
Was very clean.
A great location, thank you.
- Brenda (8/5): Very pleasant stay in a great location - Good location and lovely views. Plenty of space. Nothing
- Phil (8/5): - Location of prpoerty was good with walking distance to shops and food outlets. Spacious areas for relaxing and everything provided just like being at home
- Mark (7/5): Nice place, but the couple issues could easily be remedied for a more positive experience. - Great location, just outside the National Park, and walking proximity to town center. On site parking. No Wi-Fi. This was advertised but could easily be added and it really detracted from the experience. Also the back door couldn’t be locked. We sent an email to the owner about the back door; no reply. We saw a maintenance guy emptying the trash and asked about the back door door, and he said they knew and we shouldn’t worry because it is so safe there!
- Roxanne (10/5): - We loved this accommodation. We felt very comfortable staying here. Large rooms and bedrooms with great views from the verandas towards Coles Bay. On the doorstep of Freycinet national park and great restaurants within a short drive. Coles Bay House was the highlight of our adventure holiday in fabulous Tasmania. Thank you. We loved it😄
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Grahame (7/5): We enjoyed our stay visiting Freycinet and Coles Bay for the lovely scenery and beautiful walks. - Great location, good self catering facilities. Suited our purposes very well. Nothing
- George (7/5): Nice place super convenient location. - Great location. TV reception very poor, missing light globes in key areas.
- marilyn (10/5): - Very clean
- Patrick (6/5): we were disappointed. photos below relate to my statement rather than labels - location was good and close to beach and ammenities the property is tired and needs care and maintenance… there was a layer of dust under beds and outside, cobwebs everywhere… only one fan…. and house was very hot…..heater out of order…(not that we needed it) lawns not mown…
- Deidre (8/5): clean comfortable and close to all major attractions of Coles bay - Location was great , place was clean and comfortable. Area was quiet at night. Bed was comfortable. enjoyed the garden would have been handy if there was a washing machine. Stairs were steep and narrow. pillows too soft. bedside light was broken (no globe!)
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jo (8/5): Very good - great location beds a little hard
- Ky (7/5): Good - I give this 7.5 stars. Location is excellent for exploring the nearby Freycinet national park. There is also a general store, self-service petrol pump, and cafes/eateries 5mins around the corner.
The house itself is basic, and can accommodate a family of four, it has a large living area upstairs - with some board games to keep everyone entertained. TV reception is patchy and the TV keeps skipping upstairs. It has 2 bathrooms - very handy, and basic toiletries supplied. Beds were comfy and had electric blankets for those cooler nights. The wood floor was oily throughout the kitchen area making it slippery. Not sure if it was the owners using a polish to clean it - but we had to wipe away the oil when we got there. Otherwise the house was clean. It is a wooden house, - the sound proofing between the top floor and the bottom floor was poor.
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (6/5): Lovely area but wet weather had made the walks very boggy and challenging - Location was further from the beach than the photos indicated but quite well equipped and had some views from upstairs. I was not sent an email with the door key code. Fortunately there was a number to ring and they obtained it for me. The house was cold downstairs in particular, with inadequate bedding and poor heating. We requested and were supplied with one extra blanket each. Advised that the heater needed servicing.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Nancy (5/5): It was okay. - Good location for access to Freycinet NP.
Ample parking.
Quiet location. Good size fridge and freezer. No wifi. No hanging or drawer space in downstairs bedroom. Heater in kitchen area took us a long time to get it to work and it needed cleaning. No soap container in shower or heating in downstairs bathroom shower.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- Bryant (9/5): Superb -
- Karyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (4/5): Disappointing -
- Damien (10/5): This place was such great value for money, a fun, cosy home for our short stay in Coles Bay! Self check-in was a dream. - The house was more than we could have hoped for, such great value for money, a fun, cosy home for our short stay in Coles Bay! Self check in was a dream. Nothing not to like about this wonderful place!
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (10/5): - Thus property had everything required for a short or long stay. An easy walk to the local amenities , nice views and a short walk out the back gate to a lookout tower.
Easy access to major pionts of interest
Sitting on the balcony with a drink was very relaxing.
- Agathon (8/5): Convenient location in Coles Bay - We stayed here for 2 nights and the place was good. The house has plenty of room. It is close to the main part of town if you need to buy food or have dinner.
The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and has everything you need. I would rate the place higher if it had internet access. Plus the TV signals are spotty at best with many channels not working due to no signal, in case you wanted to watch something in the evening.
Otherwise this is a nice place for a few nights.
- Morgan (8/5): - Great place to stay definitely would come back. Although second storey shower was dirty and some clothes from those of the previous stay were left behind.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely warm house. Close to the town centre, but quiet. Easy access to everything.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A clean well-appointed home, cosy in the cold weather. Comfy beds.
- Amanda (10/5): - Great location. Very clean and well equipped. We will be back.
- Paul (8/5): Coles Bay Accomodation - Spacious accommodation Close to city centre. Well appointed
