Ashley (10/5): We will definitely stay here again! - This a gorgeous little hotel. We were in room 1, it was spacious and with the lovely big windows it was so bright and airy! Everything was immaculate and had everything we needed. Check in was so easy and smooth. Cathy was lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful!

Penman (7/5): This was a band b not a hotel - The breakfast was fine but having yo choose bt 7pm the day before was a little of putting I booked an accessible room no rails in shower. Small space one side or bed and no staff on premises over night. No parking. Good job a friend came with me not my husband who the room was originally booked for.

Staff were very kind and friendly. A very lovely little independent hotel that would be happy to stay in again as was clean & comfortable which is all that was required. Excellent breakfast. It absolutely suited our needs as a base for a short stay to attend a family wedding. The bed was massive, which was a definite bonus for two people who are finicky sleepers.
David (4/5): Very disappointed - Very tired needs some TLC, The bedroom chair was very stained, the bathroom was not very clean, and the mirror over the dressing table was of no use, I am 5’6” and when I sat on the chair at the dressing table all I could see in the mirror was the top of my head. Breakfast was not good at all, the toast was only toasted on one side. You had to tell them what you wanted for breakfast the day before and I still did not get what I ordered

David (8/5): The Kirkstyle did us a perfectly for our short stay in Biggar. - Parking car on main street pretty good considering how busy it is. Check in service excellent, room as expected. Lovely and spacious and heating can be controlled as it was too hot at first for us. Location to be able to walk around town is excellent for Biggar. And our favourite bit was the lovely breakfast served by the friendly faces of the Kirkstyle. A wonderful range of choice for the guests to choose from and the morning coffee was fantastic. The rooms shower was poor, slow flow of water and the electric shower struggled. Pillows could do with an upgrade too.
Sarah (9/5): Could’ve have chosen anywhere better to stay! - In the centre of Biggar - within easy walking distance of everything! Very comfortable bed, making for a good night’s sleep. A very good breakfast with plenty of choice.
Darren (5/5): Expensive, poo left in toilet from previous guest. - Friendly staff On checking in there was a poo in our toilet. Clearly the staff had not bothered to clean the bathroom between guests.

Catriona (7/5): Good hotel, needs some tweaks to justify the prices. - Good location, room was spacious and clean. Room was not warm on arrival. Staff said the heating had come on shortly before. At this time of year with a forecast of snow it should be put on in plenty of time. The price was high for the facilities on offer. The check in process was rushed, and I had to make my breakfast choices there and then for the following day. However when it actually came to the breakfast next day my choices (porridge and scrambled eggs) arrived almost simultaneously at the table, which was annoying as I didn’t want either of them to get cold. On departure no one asked how my stay had been.
JIll (8/5): Good - Comfortable good breakfasts and staff. It is bed and breakfast so if you want evening meal You have to go to restaurants nearby.

Chris (10/5): Kirkstyle Hotel is a very welcoming place with great rooms, friendly staff and a superb breakfast - We stayed in The Albion Suite which was perfect for my wife and I and our grown up daughter. We used the hotel as a stop over before continuing to Edinburgh for the Military Tattoo. It was perfect for this as the location is superb. The Full Scottish Breakfast was brilliant too and set us up perfectly for the day.

Rachael (10/5): Great stay at Kirkstyle - Excellent location to attend a wedding at Cornhill castle. Staff were really kind and helpful and the room was comfortable, clean and had great facilities.
Woolley (10/5): Fabulous hotel in a charming town - The staff were lovely, very friendly and welcoming. When we arrived we needed to grab some food and head into Edinburgh so the lady who runs the hotel recommended the Chinese takeaway and put some plates out for us in the dining room. (The takeaway was excellent, nicest tofu dish I've ever had from a takeaway.) The room was great, really big and well stocked with drinks and biscuits. Good breakfast buffet with cooked and continental options, plus top quality coffee. Biggar is a charming little town with lots of nice independent shops. I'd definitely return to Kirkstyle Hotel to explore the area more and to use as a base for going into Edinburgh. There's no dedicated parking area but you can park on the road. Some spaces are limited to two hours, so the lady in the hotel advised us where to park.

Louise (9/5): Good stay! - Hotel was located right in the middle of the town which was perfect! No hotel parking but not a problem parking on the street! Staff were extremely pleasant and the rooms were clean and comfortable and a great size! Breakfast was good too. Not sure about the room key situation. There was one key which fitted the main front door and your room. I might be wrong but we were a bit worried about all keys fitting all rooms if they all fitted the main front door!.

Bodeane (1/5): Outdated not clean and definitely not worth the money - It was out dated all old and was definitely not gonna eat the food there pictures are very miss leading and it’s dirty Nothing like the pictures and outdated rooms not one bit value for money the prices they are charging would not recommend. They asked me to booked through them to save £25 not to go through booking.com and cancel. which I didn’t as I thought something wasn’t right and was too late to find somewhere else so close to my wedding venue.

No parking onsite, but this was not the hotel's fault. We parked opposite, just in front of the pet shop! Overall, it was a little expensive for the standard, we thought.
Ian (7/5): Centrally located, over priced for facilities. - The hotel which we have stayed in previously is within town centre and in easy reach of amenities nearby. We found the room to be cold on arrival which was not the case previously and the breakfast was certainly not to the same standard as on our previous stays.

Lesley (8/5): Clean, Comfortable and professional. - Lovely staff, friendly and professional. Plenty of free car parks located nearby, (just a 5 minute walk) which is always a bonus. The cooked breakfast was delicious and very organised thanks to scheduled time slots. The bed extremely comfortable and sheets etc of good quality. For the hotel to be located on such a busy road, it was surprising how completely quiet this road is through the night, making for an undisturbed nights sleep. Nothing - and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
DAVID (5/5): Only slept in the room but wouldn’t use this property again - Location for wedding we were attending No staff on site after 8pm only a phone number to contact the duty manager. We had to go to the property before the wedding to drop our bag and pick up the keys there was no reception and we were all checked in separately in the dining room when we were told a list of instructions. Couldn’t see the room before we left for the wedding or freshen up. A very bizarre set up. Staff were quite abrupt

Stayed there to attend a wedding at the local Cornhill Castle which is literally just 10 minutes by cab. The Kirkstyle was so convenient. Breakfast was so generous in its portions and superbly cooked.

thewullsta (10/5): Absolute gem in a lovely town. - What an absolute Gem. A cross between a boutique hotel and the most welcoming of B&B's which was fabulous value and about 45 minute straight drive to Edinburgh. A lovely welcome, the room was extremely spacious, lovely comfortable bed, clean with a lovely bathroom. We were checking in and leaving for a concert so needed food and we ordered a takeaway. The lovely lady there gave us plates and cutlery to eat in the dining room. The breakfast the following morning was yummy and catered for my veggie daughter and vegan wife as well as myself. All in all a lovely stay in a gorgeous little town. We'll find an excuse to make the 3HR 40min drive and return!! Next year's fringe!!
