- Affolder (4/5): Disappointed the second we pulled up and walked in. - It was clean at least I did not like how difficult it was to open the door. One of the bedspreads had a burn hole in it. The room was ridiculously sparse. The TV wasn't even big enough to cover the outlets or cables behind it. Only one chair was provided for a double queen room with a table barely big enough to eat at. The beds are rock hard. Whomever painted the bathroom did not tape off anything to prevent painting areas where the paint shouldn't be.

- Kate (4/5): No good for more than one night’s stay - The unit was clean, and there was free parking. The facilities are too basic. We travel light and need to handwashing clothes occasionally and leave them to hang out to dry, but there were no hangers, and not even a couple of wall hooks in the unit. No bedside lights, just stark ceiling lighting; no coffee machine and only a tiny table with a single (office) chair.

Bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Older court but well maintained and updated. Nice if there was coffee in the morning. I would stay there again. No coffee in the morning.

The cost was more than affordable. Mini-fridge and microwave were nice, though I did not use them. No coffee maker. Eek!!! No place within an easy walk to find coffee. Double eek! I would stay here gain, but I'd make sure to bring some instant day starter. Seriously, including a coffee maker would be huge.

- Samuel (6/5): Easily accessed from the freeway, the small motel offers small but serviceable rooms. - If you know what you're paying for—a no-frills room suitable for short stays—it's a good value, and this is coming from someone who apparently paid above average. Fridge + microwave are helpful conveniences. Best amenity: surprisingly fast wifi! Bed was on the firm side, though that can be a matter of taste. Rooms are truly spartan; I wish I'd had more than 2 sq. ft. of table space. There's nowhere to store luggage or hang up a jacket.

- Doug (3/5): Got no sleep. - The rooms were amazingly clean for such an inexpensie motel. Usually they are "dumps" but here it was top quality. I was looking forward to writing a good review, but the manager and his family ruined the whole experience. They were staying in the room next to me and I awoke to loud talking and laughter at 02:00 which continued all the way until 08:00. I would yell to ask them to keep it down, which they would for a minute or two, and then again loud women talking and later a loud television. If it had been another client, it would not affect my rating. But it was the room where the manager was staying.

- Roger (8/5): Great for basic accomodations - Newport Bay Inn is a basic motel on a busy street (right off of 55 Freeway) but was just fine for my needs while working in the area for a week. I just need a clean bed and shower. The building is an old school small roadside motel that has been updated. My room was surprisingly quiet for being next to a freeway. Parking is available for each room. My small room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functional. There is no coffee maker but a small refrigerator and microwave. The owner doesn't speak a lot of English but we got our business taken care of without any confusion. The housekeeper was friendly and made her rounds everyday.

- Perla (8/5): - It’s exactly as shown. The room is very clean & no odor! The shower/tub is clean. It seems to be relatively recently renovated. The mirror is modern. Good shower head water pressure. It has microwave, fridge, TV & wall outlets within reach. I think the only thing I’d like is extra pillow ( which I probably could have ask for). Bring your own hairdryer if you use one. This inn is far cleaner than a place I stayed last time near K town. The location is quiet ( even passing vehicles not that bothersome to me). For a quick SoCal trip for a dragon boat race event, I certainly can see myself staying will here again. The parking outside our room was taken. Thankfully we’re the only one at the back parking lot but if it is full, backing in to get in/out will be a little tricky.
